Hi just wondered if people ttc on Clomid wanted to join this thread unless i have been stupid and missed one.

We are due to fertility clinic on 22nd and expect to go on clomid again.

We have 2 dc. Ds1 is nearly 9 and was concieved without fertility help. THis was a big surprise as have PCOS and was told would never conceive naturally.

Ds2 was conceived after 1 course of clomid 50mg. My day 21 test was awful and still no period after 45ish day. Was put on progesterone to induce bleed. Didnt happen as was pregnant.

Was also on metformin but not currently, waiting for all clear next week. I have dodgy lft generally on medication and also bfing.

Ds2 is 1 now and still breastfeeding. Hoping this will not hinder any treatment as really want to continue this too. I am now 33 so fertility decreasing too.

I dont have a cd currently as all up the shoot so waiting to see what happens really.

Zita west has written a few fertility books has a clinic in london was just wondering as few friends suggested reading her book but cant really afford to do the 3 things she sugguests at the same time accupuncture hypnotheraphy and nutritional theraphy all a bit much for me and i dont know whether i agree with it. but hey.

My partner went out earlier( he thinks i should wait to test) and i nearly did my first response test- i just carry it about with me haha how sad!
lisy agree with clure i personally am going to wait even if it kills me! It does sound really promising hun!
I on the other hand am not holding out much hope. pregnant on the 1st month im just not that lucky!
stac good luck with the consultant definitely write a list and dont leave until your happy. I did that... after a few times of going home and being even more worried and confused that i did before i went in!

paddington21 · 28/03/2009 13:06

sorry that should say
lisy I agree with clure

stac14 · 28/03/2009 13:17

Hi paddington
My first consultation was like that so want to be as prepared as possible this time. I had a look at zita wests website t does sound good but like you theres no way I can afford all that, I try hard to have a decent diet at the mo and have lost weight since ttc.

Clure I am in the same boat as you with regards to wanting af, when they told me I hadn't ov'd last week I thought my best bet was taking af without progesterone.

lisylou Your symptoms do sound positive, its so difficult holding off but at least you have a better reading the later you wait.

paddington21 · 28/03/2009 13:21

Hi stac exactly how i felt, i draw the line at her i mean fair enough her stuff might work for some people but i think reading that kind of book i will go mad!
Definitely a good idea to be as prepared as possible i have to say now i see the same consultant each time and she is on the end of the phone too i do feel more relaxed especially as she seems to have faith in my body getting pregnant- which although i think her optimism scares me its nice to think well at least someone thinks i can do it!

Clure · 28/03/2009 16:33

paddington Have you read Marilyn Glenville's "Natural solutions to infertility" I read it last time and I actually ordered her suppliments for myself and hubby. I took clomid and got preg very first cycle! you never know.

stac have you always had problems with AF? Mine went to pot after DD, i breastfed her for nearly 18months, my periods came back after 10 months then irregularly for a year. Then they sort of settled into a bit of a pattern but the last year they've gone awol. Think also it's my age

paddington21 · 28/03/2009 17:48

clure was it a good read? not too depressing?
Am feeling really tired today think maybe this is all catching up with me. It does just feel like im waiting for AF to start
Thanks for making me smile though... i mean i have to have some luck sometime soon!!

Clure · 28/03/2009 18:24

paddington think book was good in that it made sense and helped me to see things in a different way - preparing your body, treating it correctly etc (mind you that was 4 years ago and things do get a bit fuzzy!) I did get a bit obsessive though. Guess its hard not to at times.

Know what you mean about feeling tired, and I'be got a 17k run to do tomorrow morning in preparation for my half marathon next weekend - plenty of carb loading, any excuse to stuff my face

Hopin everyone in good health xx

stac14 · 28/03/2009 19:42

Hi Clure
I had ds when I was 19 and always had really heavy, painful periods, had regular periods with and without birth control over the past 8-9 years then stopped it last april to ttc and nothing happened, doc decided to look into it as I have never had problems before and they discovered I have pcos, but havent had af alone since april which is why doc gave me progesterone, omg so much info lol do you have a diagnosis

paddington how you feeling now chick? try not to think about it, I know its hard but sometimes we worry ourselves to much about it. xx

paddington21 · 28/03/2009 21:00

Hey girls! I know what you mean it is hard not to obsess. Good luck with your run clure and the half marathon- get you!
Am not feeling too bad had a nap and a magazine and some chocolate to help take my mind off things. Feel more hopeful now. Did you test in the end stac?? Or you holding out?
Hope everyone has a lovely evening xx

Lisylou1980 · 29/03/2009 02:20

Well you can all stop crossing your fingers for me my AF has come!! at the moment i aint too dissapointed but hey thats another story!!!! good luck to the rest of you though, i'm coming off the clomid and going back on the pill

mummycat1 · 29/03/2009 08:41

I am feeling very very . My AF has just come this morning. I really had convinced myself that I was pg (as usual). I actually had the first response in my hand. I had weed in a cup and just set the timer on my phone for three mins, then thought I had just better check the position of my cervix and it was low and open and then I saw that I had blood on my fingers. Well at least I hadn't broken the test out of its foil pack! Felt really sad and fragile. Day 1 is always the hardest, but I tend to cheer up after that. My AF cheer me up treat this month is going to be an easter egg from Hotel Chocolate.

I'm now taking a month off of Clomid and wonder if I will ovulate on my own? Then it's my final two months before IVF. I am going to ring the FC tomorrow and see if there is any kind of waiting list. I have decided not to egg share as I feel too unsure about it and think it is irresponsible to make that decision based purely on saving money!

Lisy What's going on with you? Don't lose heart. We could be cycle buddies this month if you stay here

Stac hope you get AF soon.
Clure good luck with the run - wish I could do that!
Paddington fingers crossed for you.
Awen and Alfie what's goin on in your world?
Mizzie keep keeping us updated.
Squig hello - I have had clomid and ovitrelle for 4 months now. According to FC I'm responding excellently, but from my POV it doesn't feel so good as I have not managed to conceive.

FWIW - baby dust to you all

mummycat1 · 29/03/2009 08:42

I'm glad you are all here to share stuff with as I feel so alone with this problem in RL xx

Lisylou1980 · 29/03/2009 09:49

Sorry about my outburst, was a bit upset when AF appeared yesterday afternoon, and bf started being an ass. Gona have a month off clomid and still have my 21 day bloods to see if i ovulate with out.
Hope you all have good luck xxxxxxx

paddington21 · 29/03/2009 12:14

Hi girls, lisy and mummycat am so sorry AF appeared! Am gutted for you. I still have no news just waiting for it to appear am pretty sure it will.
lisy hope you ovulate without!
mummycat i know exactly what you mean its great to be able to vent feeling because in RL hardly anyone knows whats going on let alone how much its affecting me!
Keep us updated about the IVF and what the old FC say. I agree about the egg share thing.

xxx

paddington21 · 29/03/2009 12:16

Ive decided im having a date with jonnie boden and my bank account when af appears. Hotel Chocolate- that shop is amazing!

Clure · 29/03/2009 13:11

Mummycat and lisy so so sorry, really gutted for you both. lisy you have all the outbursts you want that's what we're here for and we all totally totally understand the disappointment and sorrow that AF brings. So both of you are having a month off clomid? probably good to give yourselves a break - its such an emotional rollercoaster

paddinton hold on in there!

Dig into that chocolate girls! I've just finished my run - did 18k in the end and my bum cheeks know about it - sorry tmi!!

stac where are you at? looks like you and I are waiting for AF

paddington21 · 29/03/2009 14:36

xx

sgibbo · 29/03/2009 16:45

Hi Awen,

we are trying for our first for the last 3.5yrs but not being very successful. We have had 6 months of just clomid, now we are having injections and clomid + ovitrelle. We are on our second cycle of this and am on CD 12. Ovitrelle was given yesterday so should ovulate 35 hours from 6pm yesterday (hopefully!) We only have the option of four more cycles of this before they offer us IVF which has an 18month waiting list in our area they did mention egg sharing but not sure how i feel about that one.

Mummycat, thanks for inviting me to this thread, sorry to hear your news,

stac14 · 29/03/2009 17:41

Hey girls
mummycat and lisylou{{{HUGS}}} so sorry to hear you got af, hope your both ok. mummycat let us know what the fc say to you.

paddington how you feeling? I haven't bothered to test as cd 21 bloods said I hadn't ovulated but haven't had the results of cd 28 bloods but have the consultant tomorrow so hopefully he will help

clure still no af some cramps and pmt but nothing else, Congrats on the run, I am not fit at all so 18k seems like a mountain to me, the kids and dp did the santa dash last year and I have promised to do it with them this year its only 5k but I better start training or hope I get pg before then lol

Hows is everyone else?

paddington21 · 29/03/2009 18:23

Clure · 29/03/2009 18:55

paddington who knows when my AF will arrive - it's been nearly 3 months since my last one. Trying to get appointment with GP tomorrow to see if I can get provera. If you test on tuesday will you use one of those early pregnancy tests?

sgibbo hi to you and a hug. Welcome to the thread, everyone is so kind and supportive on here. Sounds like you've had a rough ride, three and half years is a long time ttc. Have you had ovitrelle before?

stac you go for it - I started out with 5k runs.

Tired now, DD in need of bedtime story so off I go to read another "Charlie and Lola"

paddington21 · 29/03/2009 21:28

clure good old provera! I have first response at the ready as ever! Would it be correct if i used an early test or regular one? How late do you have to be? I cant actually believe ive managed to hold out this long. Still bit crampy and now emotional.

Enjoy the bedtime story.

xx

amelied · 30/03/2009 09:33

Morning Girls

Just a quick question - this is my second month on Clomid and I feel like I have put loads of weight on. Is this a side- effect?

I have an underactive thyroid and really struggle with my weight - this is the last thing I really need.

Woudl appreciate your thoughts...

sgibbo · 30/03/2009 09:51

Morning everyone,

Paddington21 hopefully should have ovulated this morning if the ovitrelle has worked so i'm keeping everything crossed!

Clure this is my 2nd lot of ovitrelle and we can only have upto 6, so hoping it works soon

amelied i have had quiet a lo of clomid now and i haven't noticed that as a side effect but it does effect everyone differently.

Lisylou1980 · 30/03/2009 09:52
