TTC - Clomid Thread

Hi just wondered if people ttc on Clomid wanted to join this thread unless i have been stupid and missed one.

We are due to fertility clinic on 22nd and expect to go on clomid again.

We have 2 dc. Ds1 is nearly 9 and was concieved without fertility help. THis was a big surprise as have PCOS and was told would never conceive naturally.

Ds2 was conceived after 1 course of clomid 50mg. My day 21 test was awful and still no period after 45ish day. Was put on progesterone to induce bleed. Didnt happen as was pregnant.

Was also on metformin but not currently, waiting for all clear next week. I have dodgy lft generally on medication and also bfing.

Ds2 is 1 now and still breastfeeding. Hoping this will not hinder any treatment as really want to continue this too. I am now 33 so fertility decreasing too.

I dont have a cd currently as all up the shoot so waiting to see what happens really.

Firat of all congratulations RAY! the numbers are delightfully creeping up!

MUMMYCAT1..It is the pressures of being on clomid & been given a time frame for only so many cycles. (i was fortunate to have 12 cycles worth,but it done my head in even more,if that makes any sense). Also clomid causes depression,anxiety & mood swings. If for any reason you wish to take a break, do so. I did half way through for acouple of months for those reasons you state & because of the side affects as well. My partner also suffered from ny 'nagging/moaning' too. I think that is an issues majority of us go through. Do not think for 1 minute, that if you do have a break then you will be lagging behind,because you wont be. All you will be doing is preparing yourself & judging a more 'right' time to continue.

PADDINGTON21.. Clomid side affects, mensrastion symtoms & pregnancy symtoms ARE all the same. Also you MUST NEVER assume a period on clomid tells you, that you are not pregnant. It can happen & it does happen(i just had a period & i got a BFP!!!

On my 1st cycle of clomid this month (CD 10 today) and off for my scan to see what the drugs have done on thurs, then for acupuncture afterwards - phew!

I've head bloody awful migraines the last week, anyone reckon it's the clomid?

Got my blood results and I haven't ovulated again, Nurse took CD 28 bloods as requested by the hospital but I don't hold out much hope, pretty gutted as was sure I had ovulateion pains in the middle of the month and I hate taking the progesterone. Any advice on what to do next?? XX

The headaches can be a seide effect of the clomid, bet your looking forward to Thursday. This is a great thread very supportive and lucky too this month we have had 4 bfp so fingers crossed for you too x

phoned the consultant at the hospital and surprise surprise he wasn't in but his secretery was fab and is going to squeeze me in for an appointment on Monday woohoo for decent people. This time I really need to take the list and dp is going to try to get it off or at least get away to come with me.

Bit of a histerical time today, but feel better since chat with secretery. So sorry about all the moaning, I'll be getting flung off mumsnet for it lol

What has the doc said about your bleed? Hope all is well. See if you can have an early scan - my FC does them at about 7 weeks.

Stac (((hugs))) to you cyclebuddy. No ov is so unfair. Maybe they will up your dose of Clomid next month? Let us all know how you get on. You really haven't been moaning much at all so no worries there.

Thanks for the hugs, I need them today lol. I think they plan was every I don't ovulate they will increase the clomid, but I am only getting bloods done, no scans and I am concerned the clomid is making more cysts rather than helping me, I'm also not very good on the progesterone so want to ask what my options are for that (there I go moaning again lol) YOu seem brighter today, how are you feeling? xx

Still not done a test i cant face it yet? Strange i know but dont want to be disappointed i'm on cd29 today so still not really sure when due on AF, loads of discharge though (tmi sorry) but not sure what it is, i keep going to the toilet because i think i have come on [hmmm]

am all runny nosed and sneezy today which doesnt help been bit crampy but nothing yet boob pain not very sore today either.

Still no signs of AF just feels as thou i have because of discharge i'm losing. But no signs what so ever. When are you due your AF?
I just dont no when to test as not really sure when due AF??

Stac Yes I am feeling brighter today. Have been very busy so I guess that helps. Ask your clinic about scans and HCG injections. I have a scan then an injection to release the eggs. Just giving Clomid does not always work. Good luck xx

Lisy lots of discharge is a positive sign - don't get too excited though! Maybe you should wait till you have passed your longest cycle length on Clo before testing? Good luck xx

mummycat is that what you get? What is a hcg shot? Would they give me that even though I have only had 2 cycles of clomid? Sorry for all the questions, just a bit lost at the moment lol xxx

Hi ladies..

Well, i went to the doctors yesturday, in regards to the brown discharge i have been getting, since about 1-2days past overlation (i still have it today) The doctor did not seem too concerned & in return, that made me throw even more questions left right & center.

The doctor gave me an internal examination using her hand! she clamed she would be able to tell if i was having an ectopic by feeling if there was a lump present on my tube ..i am still baffled & i had to try & stop myself from laughing AT her,as i know full well my tubes are near & behind my hip bone wall!
It was only after i sarcasticaly suggested to her, that, should`nt she be sending me for HCG blood tests & a PROPER scan, that she finaly took the approach to dealing with me in a more appropriate manner!

However the EPU clinic strongly stated that they do not see people less than 6weeks pregnant (i am only 5weeks 2day).& i needto be referred either by my doctor,GYNO or via A&E.

Today i went for my first HCG blood test & i will go back on friday to have a second one. In the mean time the doctor said that if i continue to bleed, then i should go back to her (is me bleeding for 3weeks already, not long enough then?!).

Next week wednesday, i have an appointment to see my GYNO. I will tell him about this months cycle & what has been happening. MY GYNO has my files & paper work so he should have a better insight & knowledge on what is happening & what can be done for me.

Done a test this morning and was negative. But still no signs so dont no what is going on down there xx

Hey clure I think they will increase the clomid but I'm happier getting to see the consultant so he can help with the drugs I am getting, how are you feeling?

lisylou I think clure is right try testing again in a couple of days you said your one of you clomid cycles was 35 days you may have ov'd later.

mizzidee your doc doesnt seem very supportive, couldn't she have referred you for a scan on the basis that you have been bleeding for 3 weeks and think the internal was a bit much, a scan would have told her everything she needed to know.

Yes if i havent come on i will do another one on sat or sun. I am the worse person at waiting around and this is killing me at the moment!!!!!
Mizz your doc isnt being very supportive at all!!! hope all goes good at the gyny.
Why do all of us women who really want a baby have a hard time getting one and all those young girls who just want a council house and a free ride catch willy nilly!!!!! sorry rant over had god awful day at work but thank god no work till Tuesday now!!!

Stac the shot I get it called Ovitrelle and it ensures that eggs are released after about 36 hours. So once I have had my scan on day 13 and they see that my follicles are mature with no signs of releasing on their own then I get a shot in the thigh. They have given me this every month now for four months so being on month two makes no difference. IMO you need to be scanned so that they can get a better picture of what is going on. I think some areas are reluctant to do them as they are expensive.

Mizzie sounds like you sorted that Dr out! It won't be long till you get a scan now.

Nothing happened today been feeling really full up and my stomach just feels abit fragile.
lisy sorry about the negative however might just not have enough hormone yet do test again in a couple of days there is always hope!
If i did infact ovulate i am due tuesday when do you think i should test? AF signs... havent had a natural one for few years i dont really know what im looking for lol! Feel fine at the moment
Fingers crossed... did anyone who has been pregnant imediately know or feel different?? I dont know part of me is thinking dont even bother testing its negative but then a small part of me is very hopeful- probably wrongly!

paddington how exciting. if you can possibly manage to hold out for testing till after AF due?

I'm feeling bit under the weather. I'm not sure but think I may have cystitis. Haven't had it for years. Anyone here had it as not sure if my symptoms match cystitis. Heavy feeling "down there" (well heavier than normal as have a uterine prolapse to contend with) keep feeling need to wee although have nothing really to pass and feel like may wet myself - sorry if tmi

Clure I dont know i am going mad in a way im too scared to test had so many positives at one point i banned myself from ever doing a pregnancy test again- this will be my first time since the ban.

Cystitis is hurrendous! Oh my it is the creation of evil. Had it few times really badly. Fingers crossed you dont have it. Is your wee cloudy? thats a sign. Seven Seas craberry forte tablets 4 of them and loads of water and lemon barley water just in case I find.
