MamaMaiasaura · 16/01/2009 23:09

Hi just wondered if people ttc on Clomid wanted to join this thread unless i have been stupid and missed one.

We are due to fertility clinic on 22nd and expect to go on clomid again.

We have 2 dc. Ds1 is nearly 9 and was concieved without fertility help. THis was a big surprise as have PCOS and was told would never conceive naturally.

Ds2 was conceived after 1 course of clomid 50mg. My day 21 test was awful and still no period after 45ish day. Was put on progesterone to induce bleed. Didnt happen as was pregnant.

Was also on metformin but not currently, waiting for all clear next week. I have dodgy lft generally on medication and also bfing.

Ds2 is 1 now and still breastfeeding. Hoping this will not hinder any treatment as really want to continue this too. I am now 33 so fertility decreasing too.

I dont have a cd currently as all up the shoot so waiting to see what happens really.

Hey mummycat think I will get the robitussin next clomid cylce if this one hasn't worked, I'm still waiting to hear if I have ov'd but won't find out till Wednesday think I am on my 2nd week of the 2ww, fed up waiting lol it's lovely and sunny here too, we're not long back in buying mothers day stuff lol

Whats everyone up to this weekend? xx

Clure · 21/03/2009 16:06

Hi all

Mummycat Another one here who's tired - another DD up at the crack of Dawn!

We just got back from park, gorgeous day Its good to see this thread is so busy (actually not because we having trouble ttc but supporting each other - that sounds daft, sorry talking rubbish )

A question about Robitussin, I'm on medication to control my blood pressure (hypertension) just wondering if anyone on here knew if it would interact negatively with robitussin? I've got to phone GP on Monday to get an appointment (they only have appointments left "on the day" and not in advance) so hopefully can get provera. I thought I may have AF as couple days ago boobs bit tender. No such luck

Alfiemax · 21/03/2009 17:57

Evening Ladies,

Firstly Big Congrats to Sissy and Cheeky, well done you two.

Hopefully we can all graduate very soon.

How is everyone? Been busy on here again which is lovely. I don't seem to be getting on the PC much lately I'm always bloody tired. Been working saturdays as well so my weekend PC allowance is shortened too. Oh well such is life eh?

I'm really looking forward to getting back on the clomid now. I'm raring to go. I feel much better in myself physically and emotionally (Till I start taking it) lol.

Attila I wasn't advising anyone to try SMEP and neither was mummycat, I was just asking if anyone was trying it or anything else. I agree about OPK's though. I don't think they are a reliable source even without PCO. There are so many things that women try randomly one month and fall pg and the next thing everyone is trying it. It has been mentioned loads of times lately on another forum I use and I wondered if anyone had tried it. As does pre-seed and all the vitamins etc etc. It's like it all goes through stages where someone anounces a bfp after trying something when they were ttc for ever and next thing you know there's a million posts about it lol. I think the thing is that when you try something new, you put in the extra effort to have plenty of sex and wham there you have it. I'm not talking women with actual fertility issues though if you know what I mean, just people that weren't really trying hard in the first place. I hope this doesn't come accross sounding awful. I have been a member of that forum for 3 years and seen so many 'try' and get their bfp after a miraculous gizmo that I find it hard to believe than anything other than intervention actually works. God I sound so bitchy there lol. But honestly it's not meant that way. Classic example is this.... TTC 2.5 years with no luck, only ever having sex CD14-15, buys a clearblue monitor and realises that actually they ov on CD17-18. Month 2 of the monitor a BFP. I have tried absolutely everything in my time ttc and that's what I meant the other day by thinking that you only ever end up feeling worse when your period arrives after trying something new and putting that extra effort in.

Sorry I'm rambling now and it also sounds like I'm miserable, I'm not though. Feeling good at the moment. I hope no-one takes offence to what I have said.

ray81 · 21/03/2009 18:52

Hi guys.

Well i had a telephone call this morning from the haematology department at local hospital to say i have been referred by Gyni and they need to see me on the 1st april.
And they wouldnt tell me why.
Now i know they must have found something when they did the bloods for the miscarriages but am now going to be wondering what exactly is wrong with me all sorts of things are going through my head .................

This also means if not PG this month will not be able to take the clomid again next month as if i do and there is something very wrong then it would be a complete waste of the clomid. The only poistive i can think of is that hopefully it is something they can fix and we will be Pg within a few months. I was so expecting them to tell me it was nothing am so shocked now to know there is something and very worried i wont be able to have more children.

Well it seems to have taken my mind of testing!!!

AttilaTheMeerkat · 21/03/2009 19:16

Hi alfiemax,

I do realise that neither you or Mummycat are actually saying try SMEP. I was purely and solely commenting on its actual method with particular emphasis on PCOS (being a PCOSer myself). I primarily blame the person who thought up SMEP in the first place!. Its basically another timed intercourse method which in itself is not without problems.

There is an awful lot of myth and supposition surrounding ttc and subfertility (I use that term as many people are subfertile rather than infertile) and SMEP to my mind is not just unhelpful but may only add to the overall stress of ttc.

Am glad you feel good at present, long may that state continue!!.

With best wishes

Attila x

Hi Girls

I hope you dont mind me coming on and venting??

This was my first month of Clomid. My history is I have recently turned 40 and have been trying to conceive for over 3 years now. I have had 3 miscarriages(last one in January) - all ending around the 8 week mark. I have had a huge load of blood tests taken and everything comes back normal.

The consultant has put me on Clomid now and this month was my first experience of it. Today is day 28 - I was going to hold off testing until tomorrow (that romantic notion of discovering I was pregnant on Mother's Day scenario ) but I somehow managed to persuade myself that I felt pregnant again so I tested this morning with a Clearblue digital. There is nothing like a Cleablue Digital to hit it home when the words "Not Pregnant" appeared.

I have had a horrible day - went shopping to a local centre and I was surrounded by Yummy mummy" types and every piece of "Mother's Day" type of merchandise around. I cant help but study these women with prams and wonder how they got to keep their babies and I didnt.

I am sorry this has turned iut to be a real "poor me" post - I really needed to post this and get it out of my system. I am ssick of how muscarriage has made me this envious, jealous person - I was never like that before. All I want to do is hold my baby in my arms.

mizzidee · 21/03/2009 20:36

Well ladies.. it looks like the Robitssin & pe-seed has worked. I done a pregnancy test tonight & it says I AM pregnant.
My only fear would now would be either
A)i hope it is not anougher ectopic (i have had arwfull 2weeks of brown spotting & now i have redblood as of today). & i did the test tonight,
B) the test is false, as i dont know whether the test i took is compatible with clomid.

mizzidee · 21/03/2009 21:02

Lisylou1980.. I knew you had overlated!

mizzidee · 21/03/2009 21:08

Clur.. I am not quite sure. Best is to ask your GP, but if he will be pleased to hear that 'anyone is taking cough mixer for cervical mucus, but i maybe thinking to much into it. However do meantion it because i know you get the same stuff in robitssin, but in pill form & it can only be prescribed & collected by prescription, I am just never investigated to see if its available in the UK. Robitussin however (the red bottle) is used by Diabetics, if that helps you in any way.
Best Wishes...x

Lisylou1980 · 22/03/2009 09:33

Hi ladies,
Welcome amelied i no the feeling with miscarriages, the first one affected me big time as it took me 3 years to get pregnant and i got to 14 weeks and lost it, i was devastated but then with in 4 month i got pg again and gave birth to a healthy 5 year old. Within about 4 months again i got pg but unfortunately lost it, i didnt even know i was pg and i also lost it on the same day as i lost my daughters dad as the result of a car accident so losing the baby didnt affect me as much as had way more on my mind. i still think about it now thou.
Well not sure when due on my AF my first month on clomid i was on 35 days between then on 2nd cycle i was 27 days so god knows what this one will be. All aches and pains have gone from stomach just feels a bit heavy!
Congrats to you Mizz and hopefully all goes ok xxx

mummycat1 · 22/03/2009 10:55

Mizzie that sounds really confusing. Are you going to see your GP on Mon? I would be very concerned about any bleed at all. Good luck.

Amelied Welcome. I too had a miscarriage - it was in Nov 2007 at 13 weeks. I have not managed to conceive since and grieve every month so please know that we understand you on here and rant away!

lisy not long now on the 2ww for you - hang on in there and fingers crossed.

Spent the day in the garden yesterday which was great - plan to do similar today

Take care everyone xx

mizzidee · 22/03/2009 12:23

paddington21 · 22/03/2009 13:39

Hi Ladies. How we all doing? I dont feel anything at the moment last night had such sore boobs and today well nothing. Probably still bit bloated. Had no pains or anything felt bit funny yesterday and this morning but wouldnt really know how to describe it. NOt feeling incredibly positive but hey.
We all enjoying the sunshine am sad it apparently wont last!

Hope to all

Lisylou1980 · 22/03/2009 13:57

Paddington i think i know what you mean i am feeling the same and i am so tired i'm struggling to stay awake already and its only 2pm.
fingers crossed

Alfiemax · 22/03/2009 15:13

Hi Ladies,

Atilla I totally agree with what you're saying. After TTC so long I do believe that too many people who think they know best actually add onto the mind boggling stress of TTC. I'm now up to 5 and 1/2 years and if one more person tells me to relax and it'll happen, I think I'll swing for them. I give up talking about it to anyone in real life but in a way it makes me feel more alone sometimes. And of course there are little things that people say that hurt when they do not realise.

Mizzi Congratualtions hun, I hope the bleeding is just where embi is bedding down. Good Luck at the docs.

stac14 · 22/03/2009 21:22

Hi ladies
So much happening on this thread tonight. So chiffed about all bfp's good luck with everything ladies XXX

Mizzidee Hope everything is ok with you, some people can bleed early in pregnancy but best to get checked out.

Alfiemax I didn't realise you had been trying for 5 and 1/2 years how have you coped? We have only been trying for a year and I am stressed.

A wee question, I have broke out in spots and my hair is greasy, (things that never happen to me) Do you think it may mean I am either getting af or bfp?? I'm probably getting ahead of myself but so worried that I haven't ov'd at all this month (again)

Welcome amilie so sorry to hear about your miscarraiges, hope you find the support you need on here. Think we all feel jealous of pregnant woman when ttc but happy I feel happy for the ladies on here as they have been through the same as us.x

How are the rest of you ladies? mummycat how are you cycle buddy? I see your knackered think theres something in the air I am shattered to having an early night too, hope you feel better soon

Lisylou1980 · 23/03/2009 08:06

Morning Ladies,

stac i've been getting spots and greasy hair ever since i started Clomid i dont no if anyone else has? I just assumed that was another side effect!
Well day 27 today for me so this time last month i was on my AF!!! still feeling normal but not going to get my hopes up!! Well try not too. gonna definately leave it till the end of the week to do a test if no AF.
Hows everyone else doin?
Mizz you been to docs??

xx

amelied · 23/03/2009 09:13

Hi Stac14 and everyone else, thank you for your messages, they have really helped.

I was really down on Saturday when I typed that message - more so because I knew AF was on her way. She appeared yesterday - Mother's Day - great timing!!

Anyway today is Day 2 and will be back on the ol' Clomid tonight.

I noticed my hair being really greasy. It normally is and I have to wash it every day but last Friday when I was blow-drying it I thought I had left the conditioner in as it looked that greasy - thank you for commenting on that, I thought I was imagining it. .

stac14 · 23/03/2009 14:24

Hey ladies
Thanks for getting back to me, if you all have it then it must be a clomid side effect, I just thought it may be because I should be taking af this week and I have't had a natural af in so long I was unsure if it was the way my body was reacting to it.

Hey lisylou when will you test?

Hey ameliedI'm glad your feeling better today ttc is so stressful half the time your up and down like a yoyo lol

Hey millymolly not long till your on your clomid, what dosage were you prescribed?

XXX

Lisylou1980 · 23/03/2009 15:41

Hi Stac
I dont no been having strange pains today dont no whether its a touch of wind [hmmm] or whether the dreaded AF is on its way. Normally a few days b4 i am in agony and i havent got anything like that this month. I dont no i will leave it till next fri or sat as partner goes back on monday so def b4 then!!!
Hows things with you
x

stac14 · 23/03/2009 17:12

Hi lisylou
I'm ok thanks just counting down the days to find out if I have ovulated this month as I didn't ov with the 50mg clomid and I am hoping if I have ovulated then I will get af naturally so I don't have to take the progsterone.

Does anyone know if you ovulate with clomid that your af comes itself? Just cuirous as I usually have to take progesterone and it is giving me nightmare mood swings lol

XXXXXXX

millymolly83 · 23/03/2009 19:58

hi stac14 they have but me on 50mg. because thats what i had the last time. haveing to take provera as well this time didnt need to take that the last time. how are u doing
