Hi just wondered if people ttc on Clomid wanted to join this thread unless i have been stupid and missed one.

We are due to fertility clinic on 22nd and expect to go on clomid again.

We have 2 dc. Ds1 is nearly 9 and was concieved without fertility help. THis was a big surprise as have PCOS and was told would never conceive naturally.

Ds2 was conceived after 1 course of clomid 50mg. My day 21 test was awful and still no period after 45ish day. Was put on progesterone to induce bleed. Didnt happen as was pregnant.

Was also on metformin but not currently, waiting for all clear next week. I have dodgy lft generally on medication and also bfing.

Ds2 is 1 now and still breastfeeding. Hoping this will not hinder any treatment as really want to continue this too. I am now 33 so fertility decreasing too.

I dont have a cd currently as all up the shoot so waiting to see what happens really.

Thats absolutely fantastic cheeky and sissy so chuffed for you both, you have given us all hope congratulations

stac14 · 19/03/2009 18:04

Hi mizzidee
I have read that you can buy a cough medicine from boots Robitussin for chest coughs (without the decongestant) that you take 4 times per day for 5 days after the last dose of clomid, is that what your taking?

sissy0928 · 19/03/2009 18:07

Congratulations Cheeky!!! Yeay, we are pg buddies!! So you had the same heaviness as me...it worried me so, and still have it.

Thank you ladies, I'm praying!! Still can't believe it, although I was feeling like it could be just the other night...then not again, as I felt that heaviness and light cramp! You are all in my prayers as well...keep in mind, this was my 2nd IUI, and was positive it wouldn't work, as the nurses even seemed to give off the impression that it was too late, as I'd already ov'd but they said to go ahead to try and catch it...I actually wanted to just skip it based on their reaction and ended up walking out of there feeling like I just wasted good money...thank the heavens, it is possible for me, and for all of us! Your support has been wonderful, and Baby dust to everyone!!!

mummycat1 · 19/03/2009 20:49

Hooray sissy and cheeky!! - About time we had some good news on here!! Hope it's catching!! Bet you are both feeling anxious. Are you going to hang around here for a while? Would like to know how you both get on.

Good luck - and enjoy it xxx

mummycat1 · 19/03/2009 20:56

Stac I'm feeling better after a day in the chaotic world of secondary school! Crazy Kids! No two days are the same and I love it (well sometimes I do!) I'm knackered, but no two days are the same and it doesn't give you time to think about anything else! So I feel ok right now and hope to have a better sleep tonight.

Mizzie Think I will get some robitussin for the last two months that I am on Clomid in May and June. Anything is worth a try!

mummycat1 · 19/03/2009 20:58

sorry about repeating myself in last thread!

Lisylou1980 · 19/03/2009 21:04

Awwwww congratulations both thats brilliant news and certainly makes me feel alot more postive that clomid does work!!!!!
Hows everyone else?
I'm still same as this morning, sore boobs, heartburn and like a kind of ache in my stomach
Babay dust all and congrats again
xx

The wonderful thing about this plan is that it will give you the best odds of ensuring that the sperm gets to your egg. Obviously if you have blocked tubes or other physical conditions barring conception, this plan will not help much, but if your body is primed and ready for pregnancy, this plan should give you an advantage that you may not have had in past months. But be forewarned... this plan requires some serious lovin'....
Just copied this from fertility friends - I was intrigued after Alfie mentioned it. hope it helps:

Here is the "Sperm Meets Egg Plan" crash course:

  1. Buy 10 OPK tests PRIOR to cycle day 10
  2. Starting on cycle day 10, do one OPK test EVERY DAY
  3. Babydance (BD) EVERY OTHER DAY starting on cycle day 10 (hips elevated for 10-30 minutes after each BD session)
  4. When you get a +OPK, babydance that day and the next 2 days in a row (so 3 days in a row total)
  5. Skip one night and babydance once more the next day
  6. Take a home pregnancy test (HPT) 15 days after the day you ovulated (or most of you will start taking your HPTs at 10-12dpo!)"

So there you have it.

mummycat1 · 19/03/2009 21:11

Lisylou fingers crossed for you - don't want you to get too excited, but it sounds hopeful doesn't it? xx

paddington21 · 19/03/2009 21:15

Congrats cheeky and sissy i hope this is catching you know!

I like grapefruit juice so hey am drinking it anyway! Will definitely get some of this ROBITUSSIN stuff i practically live in boots-oh dear!
Well got my results back today explained the whole didnt think i ovulated til day 20/21 according to tests etc etc. she said she was very pleased with my estrogen levels the progestrone were bit low but wants my bloods done next week as she thinks the later ovulation meant the levels hadnt shown up yet. so hey... maybe maybe not. Am still bloated!
How are you ladies doing??

Thanks Mummycat, Paddington and Lisylou! And Lisylou, it does sound promising, doesn't it? Can't wait to hear of BFP for everyone! I feel like I'm in a dream, and want to shout out loud, but have been stuck in the office all day.

Text a msg to DD at school that she'll be a big sis, she thought it was a joke! Hated doing it that way, but couldn't wait!

I will definitely keep on here awhile, want to hear of all your stories of BFP coming up as well, you've all been so lovely and welcoming to me!

Baby Dust to all!!!

Clure · 19/03/2009 22:08

mizzidee · 20/03/2009 00:49

Hi ladies..
STAC14 yes that is correct, just remember u will need the RED bottle (they only do one red). Have A Safe Clomid Journey...x

ray81 · 20/03/2009 10:51

WOW congrats to sissy and cheeky thats great news well done.

10 DPO and i also have a heavy feeling down below, its aching but not af aching. Temp is still high so thats hopefully very good sign. i keep thinking that i had the spike at 7-8 dpo and there shouldnt be any other reson for it other than implantation however our bodies do do funny things so could be nothing. need to make sure i wait at least 4 days til i test other wise it could be wrong only on CD24 so way to early.

AttilaTheMeerkat · 20/03/2009 11:40

SMEP is not suitable for those with PCOS as it does place undue reliance on OPK's (which can be wrong at best). It also sounds both very depressing and mechanical in nature.

Lisylou1980 · 20/03/2009 16:52

Hi all
Well no heartburn today thank goodness!!! still an ache in my lower stomach and god i am feeling so tired if it is my AF i just wish it would hurry up and come!
I had my blood results today and my pogesterone is at 33 lower than last month coz it was 60 but at least i have ovulated!!

mummycat1 · 20/03/2009 18:14

I take no responsibility for that SMEP stuff. I copied it from Fertility Friend. i just looked it up because Alfue mentioned it.

*Alfie I mean. [knackered emoticon]

clairebear88 · 21/03/2009 08:44

congratulations to sissy and cheeky. its so good to hear about positives as it lifts my mood loads and defo makes me hopeful that clomid will work this time.
Everyone here is lovely and friendly so thanks for letting me join you all.
I am now on CD 6 and taking clomid tab no.6 tonight. I have had no side effects this time ( so far ) compared to last time as I got really bad bloating, bad hot flashes and could hardly keep my eyes open. Maybe it just hasnt hit my system yet but fingers crossed I ov. I have my scan for follicles Fri 27th so hope the little blighters are biggys.

I think im gonna try and follow the smep as i havent tried it yet so hubby here I come...

Baby dust to all

ray81 · 21/03/2009 08:48

Clairbear have you considered temping? i brought a book called 'taking charge of your fertility' it is great and i have been temping for the first time this month as well as taking the clomid. Now i had a rise in temp of .7 degrees on 7DPO which could indicate implantation and temp is till high so keeping fingers crossed. Other than that you get a good idea of whats going on in your body re progesterone etc .

mummycat1 · 21/03/2009 09:53

Clairebear How come you are taking 6 Clomid tabs over 6 days? I thought most people took 5 tabs on days 2-6.

Ray I tried temping before, but found it really hard as I wake or get woken at different times each day. Think I will read up on it again though.

Mizzie and Stac I am definitely going to try the Robitussin too next Clomid cycle.

I am now almost on the 1ww. Am shattered and in a bit of a bad mood this morning, which could be to do with DD waking us at 5am!

My heavily pg sister is coming round later and we are taking our girls to the park.

Very sunny here - how's everyone else doing?
