TTC - Clomid Thread

Hi just wondered if people ttc on Clomid wanted to join this thread unless i have been stupid and missed one.

We are due to fertility clinic on 22nd and expect to go on clomid again.

We have 2 dc. Ds1 is nearly 9 and was concieved without fertility help. THis was a big surprise as have PCOS and was told would never conceive naturally.

Ds2 was conceived after 1 course of clomid 50mg. My day 21 test was awful and still no period after 45ish day. Was put on progesterone to induce bleed. Didnt happen as was pregnant.

Was also on metformin but not currently, waiting for all clear next week. I have dodgy lft generally on medication and also bfing.

Ds2 is 1 now and still breastfeeding. Hoping this will not hinder any treatment as really want to continue this too. I am now 33 so fertility decreasing too.

I dont have a cd currently as all up the shoot so waiting to see what happens really.

CD23 and christ has it been a drama here. was temping and temps havent been rising enough so think have progesterone problem basicaly it being Low, however this month it would be higher as clomid makes it higher so god know what it is when i have a normal cycle. So made an appointment yesterday to see doc today, woke this morn and temp has risen very high at 7DPO so went to doc and doc thinks could be inplanation rise as there is no other reason for temp to rise again other than an increase in progesterone which could only be caused by an egg inplanting. she also agreed that the previous temps showed a clear sign of Low progesterone so she has given me progestrone Gel to use and then test in 7 days. Fell like i am on a rollercoaater.

How is everyone else ? anyone testing soon?

Cheekymonkey Sorry you have been feeling down mate. I know it's hard when you want to be happy for someone but deep down you feel a bit resentful and def jealous. But don't think yourself a bitch. It's completely natural, and something we have all been through and will continue to go through until we have our much awaited bfp/baby.

Well, silly me I updated the list the other day and cocked up on mine lol. I put it a day behind. I have ov'd yesterday but due to the smear and nurse took swabs yeaterday aswell to check that the infection was gone, we didn't have any nookie. I guess it's best that I make sure everything is clear first anyway. I'm hoping that it'll all be fine by the time period comes then Clomid here I come!!!!

Does anybody do anything else besides the Cloe?? Anyone tried the SMEP method? I know of quite alot of people that do this. I worry that the more things you try, the worse it hurts when period comes.

Lisylou1980.. I believe u the clomid has worked 4u. If u tell next week u have not overlated, then that will be 1 new thing i hav learned on th clomid experience. I complained half way through my 12 months & after 6months i REFUSED 2 take any more untill they gave me "anougher" lap & dye test(i had only just had one prior to starting clomid) wen i told my GYN my reasons,(which happened 2b of all the side affects of clomid, inc..hot flushes!!)& the fact that i thought i was dying or somthing was seriously wrong, my GYN giggled at me(nasty i kno)& carried on 2 say that the reason i am experiencing wot was happening to me was because the pills were WORKING. What u also have to bare in mind is that wen they do 21day blood tests & it comes back that a person hasnt overlated then it cud also b wrong as u may not hav overlated yet/b4 the blood test was drawn,blood tests need to b done 7days after u overlate. Anyway sorry to go on, i kno i am probably totally out of depth!!!!!! just tellme 2 shut up,i dnt mind!!! Take care ladies..x

Sorry I get carried away with abbreviations lol. Cloe is Clomid and SMEP is the 'sperm meets egg plan'. I'm not too sure myself of the science about it but it's basically timed cycle sex where it's garaunteed that the sperm meets egg. I know of alot of women that try it. But my thoughts are if you think you've had enough sex to have quads and you come on, you're more likely to feel worse when you do if that makes sense. Just wondering what other things you ladies on here have tried or are trying if anything. I'm just putting my hopes on pure luck at the moment. Well not even that this cycle lol. more like an immaculate conception!

That is the exact reason I joined this, the ladies are wonderful, and I needed to know someone else knew what I was going through on this Chlomid!

Still haven't heard the blood results, it makes me think they don't have anything good to say...but lord am I bloated! If I'm not pg, help me please!

Question - it was never determined if I was/was not ov'ing, the FS just put me on the Chlomid right away, and I just have to get the bloods to show I'm not pg to get the refill - is that normal? Maybe it's because of my age (39)? There's no time to waste, I suppose...but I wonder if this doesn't work, will they try to push IVF, which I can't afford?

Been a crazy day already, DD is ill all week and I took her to dr this morning - some kind of virus, but wanted to rule anything out that may inflame her asthma. Getting her a prescribed cough med to help out, poor love's ribs and tummy are hurting from all the coughing!

just a quick question, does clomid make you have regular cycles every month if you ovulate?

ive only taken 2 months last year, and i was 29 days on round one and preggers 2nd, im on cycle day 30 today and still no sign of AF, so before doing a test just wanted to know if my cycle could just be longer... (would rather wait for AF than see a big fat not pregnant)

sissy im feeling bloated too, lets hope its for a good reason, making some space for a little one

I think the clomid does make your cycle more regular as long as you have ovulated, I'm hoping I have so I don't have to take the progesterone

Thanks for the welcome back sissy, not sure about your question but it is a possibility the clomid has been given to you to give you a helping hand, have you asked about getting your blood levels checked? they did this for me before I was put on clomid and I think its something they can do even if your on clomid

Hey alfie I've never heard of SMEP I just bd when I think I may be oving and then keep it up lol I also sit for half an hour with a pillow under my bum after bding thats about it

Hello all! did my day21 bloods yesterday- just waiting now! i think i maybe ovulated but hey as ive read the old clomid tricks the mind so who knows! On the wait now if i did ovulate couple weeks if i didnt who knows how long!tad confused though the only 2 days the tests were postive were when i had loads of cm (sorry tmi!!!!!!!!!)and had crampy feelings down there.

Am bloated too... wonder what it means! probably in my case i ate wheat or eaten too much haha!

cheeky we've all felt this way, my boss is pregnant at the moment and she does not stop going on, it kills me some days! Be brave the feeling will pass.

I'm gonna be trying the sperm meets egg plan if it doesnt work this month.

paddington grapefruit juice is supposed to increase EWCM as is green tea and other things like baby carrots apparently

Cheeky Hang on in there - your AF should come exactly 2 weeks after ov. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you. I was bloated when I fell with DD, but don't get too excited as it can be an AF sign too especially for PCOSers.

Have had big cry this afternoon. It feels like everything I do and plan, I'm just doing it to try and be positive and underlining it all is TTC. I'm feeling very tired and stressed. Looking forward to 2 days of work to get stuck into tomorrow and Fri. I'm only 3DPO and am feeling down already. I'm sure I must be way to stressed to conceive.

Must go as I still have work to do for work! Am also very tired and need my bed before 9 o'clock!

Well gotta phone up for my test results tomorrow so i will let you know the results.
My boobs are still sore and feel heavy, and heartburn, bloody hell its driving me mad, getting it really bad, my stomach is also feeling strange but no pain really so thats a bonus!!. Whats going on with me? I think is my bodies cruel way of trying to trick me! not sure when AF duelast month was 27 days month b4 was 28 so sunday or monday AF should be due!! Watch this space!

Paddington21.. hi.. gratefull juice & green tea is all very well if u got the time & cycles to test them & waste ur cycles if they fail 2 work. Robitussin is the best best if u want results one time. some people work wounders with gratefull juice etc.. but if ur like me.. NOTHING worked & i trialed & errored all of it & wasted all my cycles as i had NO CM WOT SO EVER. It wasnt untill my last cycle i found Pre-seed & used it along with Robitussin & i hav still not come on(fingers crossed 4 me!!)

if u do try remedies.. also evening primrose oil suppose to work tolly bad.o. i took twice the amount as i get my vits & supplements from hollan & barrett (they do huge doses of everything!!)all the time. & i was already taken it. but wen i upped the dose,it made no difference 4me.. maybe i just got the side affect of having 'no cm' really bad. I do believe,if u dont fall preggys within the first 3mths of clomid,but the clomid works 4u(like it does 4me) then u either been A)timing intercourse wrong OR B)u dont hav no/not enough CM 2 draw & make the sperm flow.

Hi stac14.. lol,i used to tak it b4 too! It is suppose to help with fertile cervical mucus (as clomid can dry the fertile mucus up) but u need to tak atleast i think its 1500-2000mgs daily up untill u overlate. but i was already takin 3000mgs (which is above wot they say u need for Cervical Mucus clomid usage)& it didnt work 4 me, bt do try it it may well in deed work 4 u,especailly if it works for ur PMT,it could very well work 4u on that too.

have you found anything that does work for CM? Last month on 50mg of clomid mine was good but I never ov'd, this month it was drier (sorry tmi) but I dont know if I have ov'd yet, need to wait till next week for blood results. How long have you been ttc?

Ladies, I am shaking! Got a voicemail last night after hours from FC saying they got the results and to call back today...got into work here and my phone just rang...my progesterone levels were 31, they like to see 20 or higher, and the test was positive!! I feel like I'm dreaming, please let this be true and real. I broke down crying, and called DH, he is so excited. I'm so scared!

mummycat you feeling any better chick? my emotions have been everywhere this month I phoned the doc hoping there was something he could do but I was basically told this is a stressful time so put up with it or stop it, not very encouraging. XXX

Hi stac14. I have very dry CM & i found that 'ROBITUSSIN' was the only thing that worked for me. U can either buy it from the chemist or u can go direct to the doctors & get it on prescription. Basically thers a 100% ingredient inside the mixture that is needed for CM, but the ingrediant can also be collected by prescription from ur doctors surgery which comes in pill form. I will get back 2u with the correct name. I hope u understand...x

well ladies i have a confession to make. i took a test yesterday the one that actually writes pregnant - not pregnant and it said not pregnant. still no period today and no sign of it, so i thought im going to buy the test that shows you a line (thought this may be more effective when testing early) as i was waiting i thought i dont know why im bothering i know im not pregnant...i looked down at it, no line....but then....after a minute....i got a cross....im pregnant....i cant actually believe it worked first month this time......ahhhhhhhh
