MamaMaiasaura · 16/01/2009 23:09

Hi just wondered if people ttc on Clomid wanted to join this thread unless i have been stupid and missed one.

We are due to fertility clinic on 22nd and expect to go on clomid again.

We have 2 dc. Ds1 is nearly 9 and was concieved without fertility help. THis was a big surprise as have PCOS and was told would never conceive naturally.

Ds2 was conceived after 1 course of clomid 50mg. My day 21 test was awful and still no period after 45ish day. Was put on progesterone to induce bleed. Didnt happen as was pregnant.

Was also on metformin but not currently, waiting for all clear next week. I have dodgy lft generally on medication and also bfing.

Ds2 is 1 now and still breastfeeding. Hoping this will not hinder any treatment as really want to continue this too. I am now 33 so fertility decreasing too.

I dont have a cd currently as all up the shoot so waiting to see what happens really.

Hey stevie I dont know whether having side effects or not is a good or bad thing! Nothing is simple is it!!!

clure Am trying hard to stay positive its all so confusing do you or does anyone use the sticks? I just did one( ok, ok i did two... just to check!!) and i got quite a promising line.. they are only cheap ones so will try again 2moro see if the line looks better. ovulating after day 19... is that even possible? Felt a few cramps too- symptom spotting is terrible!
I dont even know how long my cycle is... this is the first time i'll know.
i'm sure you get provera the 10mg once a day i found worked faster than the 5 mg twice a day- dont ask me why- no idea! I havent had a natural period for nearly 6 years.

Good luck when you off to the GP's?

AttilaTheMeerkat · 15/03/2009 16:27

paddington

Would refrain from using the OPK's if you have PCO because the kit reads the level of LH present. As many women with PCO produce a higher than average level of LH the kit will read that.

Also clomid can encourage more LH to be produced so this is another reason for not using them at all.

Clure · 15/03/2009 18:38

paddington used OPK first time round before ttc using clomid. This time round they are not working for me because my cycle is all over the place and I think that due to my hormone levels the OPK giving false readings. I think Attila has excellent knowledge on OPK's/PCOS and pitfalls of using them with clomid. I've now given up with them! hoping to ring GP tomorrow to get appointment thanks

mizzidee · 16/03/2009 01:10

Hi ladies i am slightly concerned, i am now on my final round of clomid. I have been on clomid for the last 12months. I hav only one tube(my right one) as my left tube was removed due to a past eptopic tubal pregnancy. I can not overlate on my own either. I hav had no pregnancys wot so ever, includind no miscarrages, since being placed on clomid & i hav no children. I have an apptment to see my GYno on 1st april. All the months of using clomid my symptoms are the same more or less, except for this last finalmonth. I have a dead on 26-32 cycle(whilst being on clomid). however this month i had started to spot brown discharge from roughly 16 days into cycle right up 2 2day, no doubt i will see it again 2moro. everything i have read up on 2do with spotting has nothing to say about spotting 4 this long. is something serious going on?? could it be cancer?? i kno when i overlate & i always know which side as i always without fail feel pain, & i usualy overlate from my domanent left side that has no tube, but this month i think i may have overlated from both sides as i have felt pain on both sides & the pain continued for more than a few days. anougher strange thing is that i felt a lump inside my right breast, but thankfully seems to be shrinking. I know lumps can also be hormonal, but giving the risks of long term use of clomid i am starting to be very very very worried. I have also made an appt to see the normal doctor, but the only apptment i could get is friday at the end of next weeek. If anyone can give me some light or any reasurence on this matter i would sincerly be very gratefull. ..many thanks

mizzidee · 16/03/2009 01:14

I almost forgot. 2day would now be my 25th day of cycle. so from the 16-25th day i have been spotting brown discharge.thats a total of 10 days & i most probably will see it again tomorow.

AttilaTheMeerkat · 16/03/2009 07:17

Hi Mizzidee,

It was very poor of them to leave you on clomid for 12 months without adequate monitoring.

I would phone the dept in question and see if they have a cancellation appointment you can have - you should be seen earlier than April 1st.

The spotting is "old" blood and the cause of this should be checked out further by the gynae. Its often not serious at all but it should be investigated anyway. You need to be seen asap by a gynae in any event. I would also consider seeking a second opinion as well particularly if this hospital continue to be unhelpful.

mummycat1 · 16/03/2009 13:08

Mizzie - I agree with attila: you definitely need to at least talk to someone from your clinic about this. You should also ask them what is the next course of action for you after Clomid. Good luck x

Well I probably ov-ed yesterday and my appetite has gone up a lot. Just wondered if anyone else experiences that?

Alfiemax · 16/03/2009 20:33

Hiya Ladies,

Hows is everyone at the moment? Good I hope.

I have my smear tomorrow. Have had to shave my legs too :P haha! Just when I had perfected my 'winter leggins'. Just thought I'd nip in and let you all know I'm still here. I try and read up everyday, but some days I have nothing to say as I'm sooo boring and other days I can't even get on MN. Does anyone else have this problem?

Thank you Mummycat, I'm feeling a bit more hopeful, although I go get my bloods done tonight, so I'll get the call tomorrow...I'm feeling light twinges down low, almost like cramps wanting to come on...praying it's not, but you know...

Ray, good luck to you!! We BD constantly every month, ha ha, but nothing's come of it so far, and we'll keep on trying! I wish you all the best!

Welcome Paddington, Stevie, and Mizzidee! I'm new myself, these ladies are the best!

Paddington - Welcome I ovulated really late on first cycle of clomid and conceived ds2 so is entirely possible.

Lisylou - Good luck for tomorrow.

Stevie - Welcome

Mummycat - thanks for keeping list updated. My appetite is always on the increase when hormonal.. esp for choc Will get scan on day 10 this time. HOw good are you planting veggies. DId some gardening too (really was the weather for it at last) but need to do loads as new house and gardens are wet and need some tlc.

Alfie - thanks for updating list too Haha at shaving legs.. I did mine at weekend as the sun was out.. they were tres hairy Poor you with smear (nasty things) I need one as am due one but paranoid that either it will mess up a pregnancy, stop me from getting preg (dont ask me why) or they'll tear me and i wont be able to to bunny fun with dp. I had horrid episiotomony and had to then be repaired and never been 'right' since.

Sissy -0 finger crossed for blood results.

I have been feeling very emotional, and achey down low and needing wee frequently. Also got a spot so hormones are def playing up. Ds2 managed only 3 milk feeds today but they were all long ones, felt like there was less milk this evening and wondering if this is the provera. It went a bit funny last time for him. Hope it doesnt upset him too much as we got a nice little routine going.

Got ds2's immunisations today poor boy.

I have had to get up in night last 2 nights to pee - very unlike me. Also have had to pee more than normal. Trying not to symptom spot at all but... DP has bought me 4 tests but i am trying to ignore them as i keep telling myself if i am it will not change the result in a week or 2. I have another 3 days of provera and then i give it a week for period to arrive and then then if it doesnt i'll test then (remind me i said that when i try and relent.. ) We stopped having sex for this cycle now as I am paranoid of not picking up pregnancy and taking clomid. Sure it is because of what happened last time.

I am off for a lovely nap in a minute (lazy little me)

Hope everyone ok xx

Hi ladies.
Thanku Mummycat1 & Attilathemeerkat,i have tried to rearrange a earlier apptment but unfortunately 4 me ther is not any as of yet,so i will preserver. My family doctors apptment is just afew days away now,so hopefully i will get some feed back then (i will refuse to leave untill i am happy with the outcome!!!).
I am still spotting, but it seems to have changed consistency/texture as of monday(yesturday). Now it seems like just before a period blood, except not as much & still rusty/dark brown in colour. I am due on around the next couple of days so i shall see what happends. Hopefully i dont come on,then atleast i have something to look forward too & that maybe the answer to this weird cycle. Baby Dust 2 u all..x

mizzidee · 17/03/2009 18:18

Any questions about clomid anyone i will feel welcome to answer them 4 u. I am not a doctor, but i have 12months experience on the Arfull little pills.
Mummycat1.. u asked abt eating alot if i am correct. Yes thats normal. I have put on 1 & ahalf stone since being on clomid. Itis unfortunately 1 of the side effects. So is being & feeling bloated. I had a lovely flat & i mean flat stomach all my life.. untill i started clomid 12months ago. ever since the first cycle i have had a horrible bloated tummy, even people commented on it, alot. I had a 3month break inbetween the 12months & my stomach went back 2 normal & i didnt feel the need 2 eat as much.

mizzidee · 17/03/2009 18:34

wind/burping.. is anougher side affect, caused by all the gas present in the bloated tummy..it has to emerge/come out some how!!!!!!!!! disgusting i know.

mizzidee · 17/03/2009 18:40

feeling sick alittle & feeling dizzy alot..i had this every single month whilst on clomid at some stage in each cycle without fail. Mood swings yes.. badly. Hot flushes yes,but calmed down as the cycles progressed. Bad dreams yes. & YES UR CYCLE LENGTH DOES CHANGE WHILST ON CLOMID. Can not remember anything else as of yet.
x.... Baby dust 2 u all....x

mizzidee · 17/03/2009 18:48

One point 2 remember is every single month u will probably think or believe u r pregnant. The clomid does trick the mind. Clomid is a hormonal drug & plays with other hormones. It does TRICK. Ur best bet is to ignore everything & wen the time comes to test then test. but i would say 2 test even if u do get a period. & the reason i say this is because a person can still b pregnant even if they bleed. & i would not chance that,as u take clomid at the start of each bleed. I basically wouldnt chance being pregnant & taking clomid not knowin u r pregnant. Dont want 2 put a downer on u guys,it just makes sense.

Lisylou1980 · 17/03/2009 19:28

Hi ladies,
Well had my bloods so will let you no that outcome on friday.
Not feeling myself today, really hot flushes and stomach feeling quite heavy and my boobs are really sore!!! roll on next week so i no if the clomid has worked
how is everyone?
xx

cheekymonkeywanted · 17/03/2009 21:11

hubby wants me to take a test tomorrow as i will be day 30 and on clomid im normally every 31days, i dont know, i have no signs of period but im just not hopefull...ahhhhhhhhhhhh i need to get myself out of feeling like this, someone help, tell me lots of happy things. I also hate the johnsons baby lotion advert and the other baby advert with the dad promising to take care of mum and baby...

well sorry but i feel better already getting that all out...fingers crossed for no AF.

hows everyone else

sissy0928 · 17/03/2009 22:21

CHEEKYMONKEY - I am so sorry you are so down today, I understand completely, being here at work surrounded by bulging bellies and others bringing in their newborns...((hugs)) to you love! Our time is coming!

Lisylou- Hoping to hear tomorrow any bloods results for myself, as well! I am having the same heaviness and my b00bs are killing me!! But I swear every now and then I feel a pressure, like cramps are trying to come on...had to tell DH "NO TOUCHY"! ha!

Regarding the Chlomid thing, my last cycle was 30 days instead of the usual 28...if this isn't my month, so far I'm at 29...very weepy and hungry too....

Clure · 17/03/2009 22:23

cheekymonkey big hug to you, you sound so down. Keep positive, you now in a good place on day 30 with clomid. Will keep fingers crossed for you xx

mummycat1 · 18/03/2009 14:03

Hello Everyone,

Mizzie thanks for your Clomid side effects list - I'm definitely suffereing from plenty of those and it does help to know that others are too, especially the embarrassing ones like wind that you'd never admit to in RL!

Come on Cheeky it'll be alright. We've all felt those feelings. You are not selfish and musn't beat yourself up about it. Everything you are feeling is normal.

I'm feeling a little stressed at the moment. Keep having anxiety dreams and am being pretty dippy. Doing stuff like leaving handbag at home and not realising till we get to Asda, and putting car keys down in silly places etc.

I am just so fed up of TTC and looking forward to my Clomid free time. I'm really starting to resent these stupid little pills. All they do is make feel rotten!!

stac14 · 18/03/2009 14:17

Hey Ladies
How are you all? I am back online thank goodness have been lost without you all.
I am on CD21 got my bloods done today and have to go back next week so wont get results till them which is rubbish lol. Whats been happening? Hows my cycle buddy mummycat? XXX

clairebear88 · 18/03/2009 15:37

Hi Girls

I was on the old clomid link but all gone quiet on there so thought you could all take me under your wings.
Im 31 ( 32 in a couple of weeks ) and ttc#1
I was placed on Clomid last year for 6 months by GP with no monitoring and had no joy so was sent to a specialist.I have now had all the tests and checks and nothing seems to be wrong so they have put me back on clomid with scans. Im on round 1 cd3 and have my fingers crossed.

I hope its ok to join as definately need support for the rollercoaster road of Clomid
