OMG! No Way! I'm so thrilled for you sweetie! Big hug!

nanbred · 18/03/2009 08:36

Spiral, admiring your self restraint. Hoping so much it is +ve when you do decide to do the deed.

JL2, whoa, that's fantastic news!! Everything crossed for next few weeks for you. Are you going to have an early scan? I can't believe how hard had to push for mine. Midwife quite negative, and said not to book in with her til week 8, obviously not thinking we'll make it that far! Can't believe her tone! .

Yes Fifi, I did do two OPK tests, thought the first was +ve 'cos hadn't used them before, then realised mistake and did a second a couple of days later which was strong +ve. Hope you manage to bd when you need to, throws up some interesting opps for creativity!!!

This thread is picking up, spring is here and so it seems are BFP's, good luck and hugs to everyone.

rainbowdays · 18/03/2009 10:07

Isthisoneforreal - CONGRATULATIONS

It is so good to hear of another BFP here.

Meanwhile I am back to cd1, so another month of shagging ahead for me

vonsudenfed · 18/03/2009 10:12

Hurrah! Spring has definitely sprung. Brilliant news

duchesse · 18/03/2009 10:30

Hello all, just thought I would drop by to say everything still well here with this baby. Am now 19 weeks against all odds, and all looking good. Am still stunned that this one seems to be sticking. Just shows I was wrong to give up hope (booked skiing holiday in August, gave away all baby clothes in September and October, got pregnant in November...). Now shall have to wrap Junior in sacking.

Isthisoneforreal · 18/03/2009 10:34

Thanks for the congrats. Great to share the news. Can't tell anyone in RL as had mc at 6/7 wks before DS, so don't want to take the risk.

Nanbred - Will definately push for early scan, as my mc was an mmc. Last time had a gut feeling and got a scan at 6wks so didn't have wait till 12 weeks to find that out.

Fingers crossed for sticky eggs and here's hoping we get some more BFP's on here soon.

Isthisoneforreal · 18/03/2009 10:35

Great to hear your pg is going well duchesse. Gives us hope. I'm sure junior will look fab in sacking

rowingboat · 18/03/2009 10:59

What a lovely happy thread!
Duchesse, that's great news! I think if you cut the bottom off a shopping bag it makes a great vest, and waterproof to boot.
I'm just back from the scan and it was really interesting. The usual (slightly patronising) consultant had been replaced by two tiny dudes. I'm 5'5 and I was taller than both of them.
What was great was that they were very keen to give me lots of information and even used some technical terms such as corpus luteum (which by now I understand). They could see two shapes on the left ovary, which could be an unreleased egg and a cyst or the corpus luteum and a cyst. So I had blood taken and I have to phone tomorrow to see whether I have released an egg.
I actually feel quite positive because there could be a reason for the lack of bfps. The other consultant said that even though I have a blocked tube, the other tube is OK and I should have had some results by now.
So that's my news. They want to get me back in for another scan either on Friday or on Monday. Talk about cutting it fine - I fly out on Tuesday night.
Whatever happens, it's all good and I have more to say to the Hungarian doctor about my background, which I hope helps.
It's a very nice day here as well.

beamel · 18/03/2009 11:06

Congrats ITOFR that is fantastic news ! Happy days are here again !

spiralqueen · 18/03/2009 13:24

So much for restraint. Had to go to Boots yesterday for the opticians and bought a test on the grounds that I'd need one eventually and then ended up secretly testing before bedtime (DH would have told me not to bother). BFN according to the little white stick but still no sign of AF.

So of course assuming it's a case of oh feck yet again but that little bit of me keeps saying without AF there's still a bit of hope.

Anybody out there got a crystal ball that would tell me once and for all whether I'll ever have another DC?

Congrats ITOFR really pleased for you - the good news does at least seem to be picking up for other people.

latestarter2009 · 18/03/2009 13:41

wow...two in one week!

congrats isthisoneforreal that's fantastic, though i must be really slow today as it took me a while to work out who JL2 was! here's to super sticky times ahead

glad things are looking positive rowingboat, best of luck with the blood test...are you getting a chance to have a look around?

nanbred can you try the early pregnancy assessment centre, they will do scans at 6 weeks, but usually only when something is worrying?....and of course you should stay..at least until the birth

restraint and all that it's cracked up to be sprial...sorry about the BFN, but like you I would hang in there until/if AF shows her face........my crystal ball shows babies all round

i'm on CD 8 of my third cycle and i know it's only been five minutes but i'm completely bored with the whole process....i was never very good at being patient......how long did it take you nanbred, ITOFR?

latestarter2009 · 18/03/2009 13:43

sorry spiral...i was trying to say that restraint is bollocks!

Isthisoneforreal · 18/03/2009 15:43

Spiral - sorry about the BFN, but as they say it ain't over until it's over. Good luck

Late - Took me from May 2008, but DH was only here about 50% of OV times.

Just so desperate for this one to stick.

StarPlayer · 18/03/2009 16:04

JL CONGRATULATIONS

For some reason I feel like crying

fruitbowl · 18/03/2009 19:07

Wicked news JL - woo hoo!

Great news too duchesse after 2 years trying for DC#2 and with my wonky unicornuate womb (only half formed) am considering chucking out my baby stuff - you've inspired me it might help get me up the duff!

rainbowdays sorry to hear back to cd1 - pants int it?

rowing I love the sound of those tiny dudes! Hope the next scan gives you more info for Hungary.

Spiral sorry it wasn't a BFP - yet (everything crossed 4u)

StarP - didn't realise you were xerialsh! Hi!

Day 3 of clomid here, had migraine all day but do get them anyway, trying not to read too much into it. Got scan booked for 26th to check if any egg / follicle action happening.

duchesse · 18/03/2009 21:25

fruitbowl I don't have any discernible problem but was beginning to despair after 5.5 years of ttc (one failed confirmed pregnancy in that whole time). If you carried your first child, that must mean that your "wonky" womb will do its job, no?

I'm crossing fingers for everybody here.

latestarter2009 · 19/03/2009 16:51

wow duchesse...i am way impressed with your perseverance and so pleased that it worked out...do you have tips for staying patient and sane?

duchesse · 19/03/2009 18:06

latestarter- none whatever I'm afraid- I was a total nutjob for the first 3 years, a depressed heap for the next 18 months, and gave up hoping eventually. I gave away all my stuff as catharsis, as a way of drawing a line under the whole ttc thing. It helped that it was all going to lovely friends with lovely babies who really needed it all. I did keep the pram though (lovely great carriage-sprung Silver Cross). I thought it might come in handy for grandchildren or visiting babies.

CarryOnConceiving · 19/03/2009 22:37

Hello ladies

Just popping on to say massive congrats and YAHOO to JL and Nanbred !!!! How exciting!

Great to hear your news too Duchesse, big congrats Wow maybe I should try getting rid of the 15 sacks of baby clothes and paraphernalia stacked in the loft

Good luck for next week Rowing, keep us posted.

Big wave to everybody else!

Sorry to have been mainly lurking, my energy for ttc has been flagging a bit and I'm trying hard to focus more on the lovely DD who I'm extremely fortunate to have. Still temping and poas-ing like a maniac though

The progesterone cream doesn't seem to be doing much, am on the second month of it and have started spotting on days 9 and 10 dpo (which happened last month too) so just waiting for AF proper now.

This spotting thing is odd isn't it, I've seen so many posts in Conception recently about spotting while ttc. I know I never used to, AF always used to start fairly definitely and heavily, then trail off over a few days. Now it seems to start erratically, get heavier and trail off again. Maybe it's something to do with being decrepit , but some of the posts have been from youngsters. Maybe it does have something to do with failed implantation?

Anyway enough rambling, better get off to bed. Will try and catch up again soon.

spiralqueen · 20/03/2009 10:30

Still no sign of AF.... and why am I getting irritated by this rather than getting my hopes up?

Starting to seriously think about following Duchesse's lead and getting shot of all that baby stuff up in the loft!

nanbred · 21/03/2009 10:30

Hello everyone, had a scan yesterday, unsurprisingly nothing to see. Nurse was very rude and in feedback said, so you see there's nothing there. Needless to say, I explained that there may not be anything to see on a scan, but doesn't mean no pg. She seemed adamant m/c was highly likely, and (reluctantly) took bloods just in case, and next set tomorrow, then we will get results Tues. They repeated the pg test which came out weak +ve so worried now that we may have had either a molar pg or (reabsorption) mm/c. When I got home did another test which was strong +ve, so may have been weak at the hosp because of all the water I'd drunk to prep for the scan. This is such a worrying time,,,,,,I just don't know if I can get through the next few days/weeks. If pg is not progressing I will be a basket case . Hope you are ok ITOFR? Any news Spiral? Here's hoping for everyone else too.

CarryOnConceiving · 21/03/2009 10:38

Oh Nanbred sorry to hear you're having such a worrying time, the nurse sounds horrible

If it's any consolation I've heard that home tests tend to be more sensitive than the ones that the hospitals use, so that may also explain the weak positive. I think there's more info on peeonastick.com

Does sound like it's too early for them to really be able to give you a proper answer though. Everything crossed for you and hope you get good news soon xxx

vonsudenfed · 21/03/2009 12:06

Nanbred, I'm so sorry that they were so vile to you at the scan; there really is no excuse for that at all. LIke CoC said, plenty of people see nothing at this stage and go on to have a healthy pregnancy. You have all the good luck and vibes I can send over to you.

beamel · 21/03/2009 12:22

What a witch ! So sorry you are having such a tough time nanbread. That was not what you needed ! There is a good chance that all will be well so hang on in there. Sending hugs and lots of positive vibes.
