Another one here saying babyblue thats normal, and here they won't scan before 6.5wks either here, otherwise you will 'just' see a sac. 2-3 days will make a ton of difference!

Arrggh I'm in pain today dont think we are doing much this weekend, trying to get a babysitter to go cinema but not looking likely.

RubysTheBoss · 29/11/2008 19:35

Hi guys!

Babyblue I have never had a scan b4 20 weeks, so can't really comment on yours. But I am sure if there was any sort of concern then the hospital would've been on the case. I know that wont stop u worrying, but sending u positive vibes xxx

Diege glad ur feeling lot better. At least u can enjoy watching Mr Cowell!!

Have a good nite everyone.

Babyblue - I had that horrible time of waiting between early scans. It was horrible. But all was well with me in the end, early scans are so unreliable. I was further along than you though, I was told that either I had not got my dates right or I was miscarring, at the next scan two weeks later the baby measured exactly right for dates and the sonographer could not explain what had happened before! I hope that you have plenty to keep you occupied in the next couple of weeks and that the other children are good for you. It is a tough time waiting. BTW in some hospitals they do not like doing scans til 8 weeks as this is the point at which they feel most confident to be able to say that a miscarriage is unlikely.

scorpio - hope you find the babysitter.

I am still working at the seduction plan, so far it is working well

babyblue3 · 01/12/2008 00:30

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. Thank you for all your comforting words. The only reason I had a scan done so early, is because I am high risk for an Ectopic (I had an unsuccessful tubal ligation done in 2006). So in that respect, the scan told me what it needed to... the sac is where it should be. I'm not sure I will bother asking for another scan, all depends how much I can occupy myself otherwise! I start back to work tomorrow and am not looking forward to it! LOL... having 13 months off has made me lazy! That... coupled with the fact that we are under a winter storm warning (up to 20cm), and I seem to be getting a cold/cough, I think I will be cursing my alarm tomorrow morning! And to add insult to injury... the morning sickness has hit in full force! I have no appetite and everything makes me gag! Diege... I envy that you are nearing the comfortable 2nd trimester!

rainbowdays · 02/12/2008 12:58

Well I am having a hormonal surge, feel like getting cross with the world for no reason! I guess I am ovulating, but no other sign of it happening. Oh well, just have to keep thinking positive, and keep on ttc.

How is everyone else here, this thread is very quiet at the moment?

babyblue3 · 02/12/2008 18:10

Good luck Rainbow... hope this is the month for your BFP! I know... been awfully quiet around here lately. I just started back to work this week, so I am still trying to adjust to the new routine. By the time I get home and cook and feed the baby, I am ready for a good sleep! No time or energy to turn on the computer!

So I ended up hearing back from my doc after the scan. She was happy with what she saw, and is not going to send me to repeat the scan. I will be doing Maternal Serum Screening (because I am over 25), which includes a scan at 12 weeks. Sooo... 5.5 weeks and I get to see my baby! Until then... my morning sickness has gotten progressively worse, so no question about whether this pregnancy is going to stick! This morning I managed 2 bites of dry toast and that was it. Liquids are not my friend... even though I am dying of thirst! LOL... I am sooo happy to be preg though so I am trying to focus on that!

Diege · 02/12/2008 18:56

Hello! Just a quickie as overwhelmed with work at the moment and have been neglecting my mumsnet!
Great news BABYBLUE on not having to have repeat scan. That must be very reassuring - as is the sickness! I am 11 weeks now and have had a better day sickness wise, though not saying it's over yet! But I am happy to pass the baton! Seriously, reassuring though it is I hope it doesn;t get too bad for you - it really is a miserable part of pregnancy! Just being nosy (and ignorant no doubt) just curious about the significance of age 25 (as a 38 year old ).
RAINBOWDAYS - here's hoping it's ovualtion for you. I can never tell - EWM seemed a thing of the past when trying for no.4, and I resorted to every other day from day 10 to 16 or so. Have to say I'm having a well deserved rest
Hope everyone is well and keeping warm!

babyblue3 · 02/12/2008 19:09

Diege - glad you are feeling better. I'm sure the morning sickness will get worse for me before it gets better... though I am holding on to some hope that it won't be as bad. With DS and DD2 I was sick from just a couple days after conception... and thats no exaggeration! I actually meant 35 (not 25) when they start doing extra testing. I just turned 36, so my doc wants me to do the screening. Thats fine with me since it means I get a scan. I see my doc for my first pre-natal appointment at 10 weeks (but I'm sure thats just for paperwork). Work is slow today, so I can quickly do my mumsnet posts, as I will be too tired when I get home

tillyblue · 02/12/2008 22:01

Hello ladies, how are you all?

Diege, how's the sickness now? I didnt realise that you were actually throwing up , poor you.

I am on day 25 and either due today or friday (cycle varies 25/28 days).

Am feeling queasy but think I was last month too. Must be psychological. Keep your fingers crossed for me this time please!

OP posts:
Diege · 03/12/2008 08:54

Ooh TILLY I'll keep everything crossed for you! Sickness much improved thanks, though so shpuld it all 11.5 weeks I say!
BABYBLUE - hope you can get through work OK with the sickness. I think I managed a week before negotiating 'working from home' with a very sympathetic boss!
Ah understand now about age 35 . Just a word of warning (as this happened to me) make sure you are fully informed about the screening tests etc and know about they very high rate of false positives with maternal serum screening. Not to worry you as no doubt you'll be fine, but I did get a false positive with dd1 and had a very worrying time. I'm sure you know it all anyway after 3 babies!
Off to hairdressers today after having to cancel last time with sickness. My roots are horrendous so looking forward to a nice head of highlights and a relax with some mags .
Hope everyone is well

SquidgyBrain · 03/12/2008 14:41

Hi Ladies,

yup just little old me back from being AWOL :S

nothing to report on the TTC front, I ususally have long cycles and this one is no different, as long as it happens before tuesday I will be happy as MSQB is away again and not home for at least 8 days.

sorry to hear that you are feeling so sick babyblue,

hoping that AF doesn't find you Tilly

babyblue3 · 04/12/2008 15:16

Good morning all Stayed home today as I could barely move without feeling nauseous... ick! I am sure the boss appreciated that...3days back and already calling sick! Too bad! I am having a really tough time finding something to eat that I actually can get down. Dinner seems to be the only time of day when I can usually manage a meal without gagging. I cant seem to drink anything either. Thirsty as hell, but the mere sight of water sends me running to the loo!!! Enough about me...

Tilly.... ooohh!! Any news??

Diege - I know all about the maternal serum screening. I chose not to do it with my other 3 for that reason. This time my doc wants me to have it because of my age.

Squidgy - I don't know how you manage with Mr.SB being away for so long. When do you test??

How is everyone else???

RubysTheBoss · 04/12/2008 23:26

Hi girls.

Hoping you are all ok.

Tilly everything crossed for you.
Diege Glad you have got through the sickiness, espesh with all that lovely chrismas food around the corner .
Babyblue Poor you! Try not to think about all that lovely christmas food around the corner, but think about the fun and games you will be having this time next year!!
Squidgy Get them all in there b4 tuesday!

xxx

tillyblue · 05/12/2008 13:27

Friday:
I am an idiot.
I completely muddled up my dates and thought seeing as I hadnt got AF and no symptoms I might well be pg.

But no. I am due next friday not this.
Fool fool fool! Am gutted.

OP posts:
babyblue3 · 05/12/2008 15:38

LOL.. Tilly - being all muddled up might be a good sign.. Can pregnancy brain start this early???

Ruby - Don't worry.. I won't let all the lovely Christmas goodies go to waste. This awful morning sickness is only bad for me in the morning! By dinner, I have a pretty good appetite. Besides.. less chance of me eating like a pig and gaining at least a stone around the holidays.. LOL I was too fat to begin with starting this pregnancy!

RuDiegetheRedNosedReinDiege · 05/12/2008 15:41

Hello! Oh no TILLY!!! At least that's just one more week of symotom spotting to go, but I know how long a week lasts while you're ttc-ing.
Hi Ruby - how are things going? I think I was a little premature on the sickness front - it has been back with a veangeance since Wednesday Still, surely not much longer now? (nearly 12 weeks). Have 12 week scan on Tues, v.nervous, but will be great to get it over and done with!
Hope everyone is well and looking forward to the weekend

RuDiegetheRedNosedReinDiege · 05/12/2008 15:42

Hi BABYBLUE, cross posts! Mmm xmas dinner now I think that's one meal I probably could manage!

rainbowdays · 06/12/2008 13:13

Tilly - lol. ph well I am with you in the dreaded 2ww too. Af due for me on 13th. The night of my mother and toddler, mothers christmas night out. So I will either be drowning my sorrows (can't too much with the breastfeeding though) or I will be finding excuses not to drink (hey breastfeeding excuse it perfect!!!! ). Lets hope that we become two more carrots next week!. We need lots of carrots for christmas!

rudiege, and baby blue, sorry to hear you are feeling rough. At least the excitement of christmas should keep you a little distracted from it?

squidy hope you are busy with MSQB before he disappears for you for a while.

OK going to go start to sort out the christmas decorations now!

babyblue3 · 07/12/2008 00:20

Tilly and Rainbow - keeping fingers crossed that we can add to the carrot bunch.

Diege - sorry to hear that the sickness is back... hopefully not much longer for you. Have you told your families that you are pg? DH and I are planning for Christmas, since we will all be together. It won't be quite 3 months yet, but I really do want to get it out in the open! I always feel stressed telling our families since they react so unpredictably.

Sigh... I think I have spent more of this day sleeping than getting my chores and groceries done. I am also trying to finish decorating and it just doesn't seem to be happening. I feel as though I could sleep standing up right now.

rainbowdays · 08/12/2008 15:27

ARRGGGGGG! I do not do well with PMT, I have just shouted at my ds1 for knocking things over repeatedly, but if I had not put them in the wrong place to start with it would not have kept happening.... It is not fair for me to take it out on him. ggrrrr at myself. I am totally confused by my cycle this month, not sure when / if I ovulated. If I did ovulate then it was very early, and would be expecting af before the weekend, which would tie in with the PMT symptoms too, if I did not ovulate I have no idea when af is due!!!! Of course perhaps I am pregnant but then hey that is wishful thinking. I do not like the 2ww, and it is worse not knowing when it started so when it will stop!!!!

Sorry about this rant, just needed to let off some steam before I go to ds1 to get things sorted.

tillyblue · 08/12/2008 21:24

Hello anyone there??? Oh I do hope someone is!

I got a BFP !

I know its too early to take seriously but I have felt very nauseous all week and did a test this lunchtime. Could see faintest of lines and then hid it. Looked again and now its clear as day! Af due wednesday/friday.

OP posts:
babyblue3 · 09/12/2008 01:50

Oooooh Tilly!!!! Congratulations!!!!!! I am sooo excited for you!!! My BFP was very faint too... but faint or not, its there!! We have another carrot!! LOL... Hopefully the sickness baton doesn't find you. I have been coping... thankful the sickness isn't as bad (as of yet anyway) as with DD2.

Rainbow - how are you feeling??? Vent away... thats what we are here for. I always feel so guilty when I take my bad moods out on the children. But when you have a house full of them and they are the only ones around... its bound to happen!

How is everyone else?? Diege - keeping my fingers crossed that your scan goes ok and you get to count all the fingers and toes!

RuDiegetheRedNosedReinDiege · 09/12/2008 11:50

Wow TILLY many congratulations!!! That's wonderful news, you must be really pleased. A third carrot for the thread .
RAINBOW, as babyblue says, if you can't vent on here where can you? 2ww must be extra stressful not knowing where you are in your cycle - is it just a one off cycle or are they normally unpredictable?
BABYBLUE, hope your sickness is manageable. I picked up a sickness bug from dd3 this weekend, and am slowly recovering. Was in bed (and bathroom!( all day yesterday, but a bit brighter today.
Have also got good news about scan this morning . All looks fine, and measuring fine for dates (put me one day ahead) so official due date is 21st June!!! So relieved as have been awake since 3am with racing heart!

tillyblue · 09/12/2008 13:51

Woke up with cramps, and am not pg this morning. Had been getting all the signs , nausea, tiredness etc. But it has all gone.

Last mc was at 8 weeks.

Perhaps I am too old to be doing this at 38.

Was so hoping to put a wrapped up peestick into Dh's Stocking on xmas morning.
Sorry ladies.

OP posts:
tillyblue · 09/12/2008 13:53

Diege, how are you feeling today?

Rainbow.... hurry up and be pg !
