TTC #4 and lurking in the shadows really as some people may tut and say surely 3 is enough!
Anyone else doing the same?

Oh blimey, I will cringe if no one comes over!

babyblue3 · 09/12/2008 18:49

Tilly - sooo sorry things didn't work out . How are you feeling?? I had a m/c in October and know how awful it is to get your hopes up.. even for a short while.. and NO! You are NOT too old to be doing this! The 70 year old woman who just gave birth in India after IVF... now SHE is TOO OLD!!

rainbowdays · 09/12/2008 20:22

Tilly - so sorry to hear that you had a miscarriage, it is hard even if it is early. But if it helps my 8 month old who is currently screaming in my ear, was concieved two weeks after an early miscarriage, so I hope you get this blessing too. Hate to ask this but are you sure it is all over?

tillyblue · 09/12/2008 23:19

Babyblue...Jeeez really!! Now thats scary.

Rainbowdays, I think so. But doing ok. Just ate half a giant bar of chocolate I found at the top of the fridge, dont know whose it was! Hope little one is better soon.

Am distracted by eldest DD who has had some dodgy blood test results back. Snaps you right back into the present.

OP posts:
rainbowdays · 09/12/2008 23:34

tilly - glad you found the chocolate, always a good pick-me-up for me! Hope your eldest dd is ok?

Ok when should I test as I have no idea when I ov'd?!!!?!?!?!?!?

Latest fun here is thab baby jak is now climbing stairs and also pulling himself upto standing and then letting go - at 8 months he has no sence of fear, or is that just no sense!!!! I am going to be kept busy now having to check up on him all the time. He is getting faster and faster at crawling, so now I am chasing him everywhere. Ah the joys of babies.

babyblue3 · 10/12/2008 01:34

Tilly - mmmmm... chocolate... at least I think so... I am turned off everything right now I can also attest to conceiving my present little bean 2 weeks after my miscarriage. Apparently you are supposed to be super fertile afterward... My suggestion is start planning your seduction. You may be able to surprise him with a new year baby instead

That story about the Indian lady is all over the news here. Apparently they have very fews rules about who can get IVF. They wouldn't even look at you twice here if you came into a clinic when you are that old! How awful for the child! Not only that, but I am only 36 and have barely the energy to keep up with my brood! After chasing your little guy around, Rainbow I think you would agree! LOL

What day of your cycle are you on Rainbow??

RuDiegetheRedNosedReinDiege · 10/12/2008 09:17

Tilly I'm so sorry that things didn't turn out well . I think we've all been there at one point or another sadly. Hoping your dd's blood test results aren;t too worrying - know what you mean brining you back into the present.
Still feeling rotten with tail-end of hyperemesis and struggling with horrible bug of dds. Have a weekend planned with friend in York, but will struggle I think. I amm a bit of a man when ill, and may try the old mind over matter trick...jyst don't want to let her downn, and maybe once I've forced myself out of the house I'll be ok?
Wow RAINBOW baby Jak sounds very much on the move! Never really had that sort of thing with mine and have been able to pretty much 'confine' them to the appropriate places!
BABYBLUE, agree, very about Indian lady. Just tired thinking about it!
Hope everyone is OK - not long till the big day now!

rainbowdays · 10/12/2008 14:50

babyblue - I am only on cd22, but my cycles are not very regular varying between 22 and 32 days, average around 26 days but normally I have more of an idea of when I ov'd, but not this month.

rudiege - hope you enjoy york, great place to wonder around.

tilly - hope the chocolate helped.

Our latest adventure is my husband having an accident yesterday, so the car will be written off and now we have to go looking for another one. Fortunately all clear cut was the other drivers fault, so hopefully the insurance companies will co-operate and pay up quickly.

rainbowdays · 10/12/2008 14:52

Forgot to say that I got all excited this morning when I felt light-headed and a bit nausious, was thinking this is it #4 is on the way, but then realised I had forgotten to eat breakfast in the morning rush to school

tillyblue · 10/12/2008 16:30

Rainbow-Oh God is he ok?Was it black ice? 8 months is such a lovely age. That toothy grin they turn to give you as they are about to pull over the christmas tree. I remeber it well.

Rudiege- We went to York by train weekend before last. I had forgotten how lovely it is, especially at this time of year. Go enjoy. If you are tired go find Betty's tearooms to sit in and much a fat rascal. I have a Betty's 1mile from my door lucky me Do you live far from York? You could always go home if not feeling too bright.

OP posts:
tillyblue · 10/12/2008 16:31

That would be munch a fat rascal!

OP posts:
RuDiegetheRedNosedReinDiege · 10/12/2008 17:04

Phew Rainbow your dh was lucky! Here's hoping you get the claim sorted asap .
TILLY, I'm also heading to York on the train. I live in Warrington, but if things get bad can head back to friend's flat early. Oh and what is a fat rascal? Sounds intriguing!

KatieDD · 10/12/2008 18:44

Can I join ?

We had our first consultation today and are going ahead with ICIS with sperm retrival.
I have to go back for blood tests (which I am dreading I hate neddles) and then hubby gets booked in for his op mid January.
We're aiming for May when the embryo gets implanted.

Seems really real now like it might actually happen and DH who has been bullied and beaten into this admitted he is a bit excited today !

I am trying hard not to start pram shopping

babyblue3 · 10/12/2008 18:50

Rainbow - glad to hear that DH is fine. Hopefully your claim will go through quick. Rotten time of the year to lose a car. I hate driving this time of the year anyway. With the little dusting of snow, people forget how to drive. Its not like snow is a new concept either!! LOL... Canadian winters aren't sunny vacations after all. It now takes me an extra 15 minutes to get to work. Ugh! Its hard enough to get up nowadays. So when are you going to test?? Hehe... I'm excited for you! Your forgetfulness may be a good sign! (I have done that often in the early weeks of being pg).

Tilly - glad I'm not the only one to ask what a fat rascal is! LOL... Some of what you ladies say gets lost in the Canadian translation!! LOL

babyblue3 · 10/12/2008 18:53

Welcome Katie... all the best and good luck!

mrsdisorganised · 10/12/2008 19:00

Hello..I'm on a couple of ttc threads, trying to get to know all you lovely MNers! Wondered if I could join, we're TTC#5 and so far haven't found anyone else but I'm sure they're out there!! Babydust to everyone

tillyblue · 10/12/2008 21:02

Babyblue, wow didnt know you were in Canada. Am jealous. Have never been but looks a fantastic place.

A fat rascal is like a giant scone, lightly spiced. It is gorgeous toasted and covered in melting butter. Mmmmm. only made at the Betty's shop. Here look-

farm4.static.flickr.com/3015/2710772291_77425fc596.jpg

but they do post anywhere !

welcome Mrsdisorganised, and respect for ttc no5. Go straight to the top with that one!

Katie, welcome. That sounds complicated stuff! How many sprogs do you have ?

OP posts:
tillyblue · 10/12/2008 21:03

And that is not me drooling in the window incidentally!

OP posts:
KatieDD · 10/12/2008 21:07

I have 3 DD's already and then DH had a vasectomy in 2004, it's literally taken me all this time to talk him into considering this and I still think he's a bit half hearted about it.

I on the other hand cannot wait and am stupidily excited.

tillyblue · 10/12/2008 21:09

That's lovely.

I am in a huff now cos you just called me a fruit loop on that other thread!

(flicks hair and flaunts off )

OP posts:
babyblue3 · 11/12/2008 03:17

Tilly - you always come up with something that makes me laugh hard enough to pee!! Those fat rascals look and sound yummy... I just can't believe you actually have a picture to show us! Like a proud mum showing off her DC! Hehehe... I am glad that I actually fit in here without you all thinkin "darn foreigner"!!

Welcome mrsD...how old are your little ones? Wow.. 5... I am still trying to grasp being pg with #4. And the fact that these idiots at work keep coming up to me and making such a fuss about it hasn't helped. 4 children is not common here and they gasped when I was pg with #3! Can you imagine the reactions now?!

Katie - good luck with the reversal. I will be trying to convince DH to have a vasectomy after this baby is born. I have already had my tubes done (rather unsuccessfully... long story) and do not plan on having a second go at it! He is such a baby though... it won't be easy.

Anyway... time for bed. I am soooo tired these days. I honestly don't know how you ladies do it when your DH's are away from home for so long. Mine worked late tonight, and I barely had the energy to cook and get things ready for tomorrow. Poor DD2 went to bed without a bath because I couldn't stay awake anymore. Took a nap and am now trying to get more done while kids asleep. Sigh...

RuDiegetheRedNosedReinDiege · 11/12/2008 09:34

Hello! Welcome to the newbies! Wow mrsd, agree respect at ttc no.5! You are indeed the thread matriarch!
KATIEDD, I also have 3 dds and am pregnant with no.4 (12 weeks). Let's get ready together eh for the 'trying for a boy' questions...Personally if I had free choice I thhink I'd like another girl - just seems 'neater' somehow
TILLYBLUE You have almost tempted me into trying one of your fat rascals...until I saw the words 'lightly spiced' Maybe a cream meringue would suit though??
Hope everyone is ok today - the thread is filling up nicely!

RuDiegetheRedNosedReinDiege · 11/12/2008 09:35

Oh meant to add BABYBLUE that 4 is seen as pretty strange here too (in this part of the UK anyway!). Certainly not the norm, although Vogue did have an article saying 4 was the new 3 a few months ago!

KatieDD · 11/12/2008 10:11

RuDiegetheRedNosedReinDiege: I completely agree with you, my neighbour just had a boy after three girls and he is being hailed as the 2nd coming just as she thought he would be. So I want another girl too.
12 weeks, so I guess you must have had a scan by now ? It's so exciting.

rainbowdays · 11/12/2008 11:24

MrsD and Katied welcome, sure you will fit in with the general madness here!

I am currently rearranging travel for christmas - fun rebooking everything.

RuDiegetheRedNosedReinDiege · 11/12/2008 11:50

ooh what are your new travel plans RAINBOW?? [nosy]..
KATIEDD totally with you on 'little prince' thing . My MIL has always thought it was a 'shame' not having a boy so am determined that this one will be a girl . It's funny, my consultant says it's throw of the dice every time, but then other things I've read put's it at 10% chnace for one of the other sex after having 3 the same. How old are your dds?
Oh yes and had 12 week scan this week - all well; massive relief after mmc in July.
