Hi All,

This is a difficult time for most women (and men) I think.

Certainly for me, I've waited a long time to get to this stage , having not met Mr Right until the age of 31. Now 34 and got married 2 months ago and now want to complete the family!

So, just started "trying" for a baby and due to my impatient nature, have already started using Ovulation Kits. (Probably not a good idea). I also did the Female Fertility Test and that seemed to have a good result aswell.

I was on Dianette for 8 years and came off of it 3 years ago. My cycles became regular again but every 5 weeks instead of 4. I had previously come off of the pill for 6 months and my cycles were regular, so I guess all this is a good sign.

Anyone else had similar experiences and fallen pregnant quickly? I know everyone's different but any good news stories help move us all along!! .

xx

Thanks Flirty thats really kind of you to take the time to look for me

eth37 · 30/07/2008 11:46

hi Flirty - it was a travel magazine based around France... Small magazine and I think a couple may be on here!! After that, I went freelance and did a regular thing with the Sunday Times (magazine, not newspaper).

Right - am going to the gym as this seems to calm me down!! Then meeting DH for lunch later on.

Hope you all have nice days xxx

Bonifacio · 30/07/2008 11:50

I'm basically on a glorified tourist visa. So can't really do anything, though I will get the lawyer to look into it. It would be fairly wasy to get an education allowence though.

I could easily get really into photography as i've always enjoyed it I think i'll look a bit more into it and see what DP thinks.

FlirtyThirty · 30/07/2008 12:20

Just tested...with an ebay cheapy OV test and a First Response...neither could even muster a faint line. I am not OVing. I don't know what that has made me instantly sad because it's quite liekly not to show up for a few days anyway...my God I just had a glimpse of what I'll be like if I'm still testing 6months down the line...not nice...

Must remain calm and rational...that is my mantra for the afternoon!

Hi- have stopped stripping (walls that is ) for a quick MN update! The man is coming around tonight to see exactly how long/cost/materials we will need etc. I am hoping it will be able to be done saturday but my dear hubby is thinking it may be in another 3weeks :-( i want it done before im back at work though- i know it sounds mad but i do actually like to be there to see things done properly! and hopefully then we shall have a week to paint etc then when im back at work i can actually focus on the school work lol we are away the week before im back at work so was hoping i could go back nice and relaxed and as i have said before- i am a bit of a clean freak so the decorating bits really need to get done quickly!

Eth could you recommend any nice places to stay in Italy? We are going to a friends wedding (riveria) next year but want to holiday while there and just go to the wedding (dont want to gate crash their honey moon lol) I am not very well travelled at all- didnt go abroad until i was older and with my husband as my mom has always been scared of flying and we havent been able to travel much either (he used to be in the army so getting time to go abroad was tricky!) i really want to see the world though... always have! You can tell me all the best places see girls- this is so much more than a TTC thread lol we are all lifestyle coaches (and councellors!) xx

summerbird · 30/07/2008 13:36

blimey i cant leave you lot alone for an hour whilst i do my real job!!! i have missed loads!

eth hope you are feeling better, a friend of mine has panic attacks. Hope it was just a blip and you are back on track.

eth and flirty you are making me feel all jealous of your globe trotting - do you get to travel lots then?

bonifacio i have taken up card making, it is really therapeutic - i didnt even think i was creative until my friend got me into it, you get a reall buzz when you have made a masterpiece! you must have lots of lovely crafty markets near you? you could take up another craft hobby...

FlirtyThirty · 30/07/2008 13:47

summerbird - I'm in the UK for 9-10 months and south fo the Equator for the rest fo the time. Am in London just now as I've just submitted a new book manuscript. So, yes, I suppose int he grand scheme of things, I travel a lot. Always have though, grew up overseas. I'm a gypsy at heart...at home wherever I lay my hat...
Well done on the crafts, I love arty stuff...must get back into that kind of thing once this book goes to print. Am thinking of making some lovely beaded cushions for my garden...a sort of Morrocan chill-out area. I know I could buy the stuff, but I sort of want the task of making it all myself...something creative and personal.

Right...now I really must do some work! x

saz007 · 30/07/2008 13:48

Wow! Flirty and Eth authors eh? That's cool!

Bonifacio if you are able to do that photography course that sounds really good. I'd love to be able to take good pictures, I'm a try-er (as my many holiday snaps prove!) but I'm just rubbish! I'm of people who can take good shots

Crunchy We stayed in Sorrento last year that was nice. We got the train to Pompeii and Naples and went on a boat trip to Capri for the day. Florence, Pisa and Rome are also really nice. One good thing we found in Italy is the train network, they are clean, cheap and more importantly run on time!!

I'm a bit confused about testing. Do you have to wait until AF is due to test? Or can you do it beforehand?

summerbird · 30/07/2008 13:52

saz are you getting impatient??!! me too, i am due on Monday and am resisitng the urge to use the cheapo Boots ones i have in the bathroom. I know my DH would want me to wait until D29-30 anyway. I think you can poss test a couple of days before hand but i would wait - as it may be BFN and you will be disappointed but on D32 could be BFP

i am still convinced i will get a BFN - no symptoms whatsoever

saz007 · 30/07/2008 14:01

summerbird i'm getting so impatient and i've got ages to wait yet!!

i don't have any tests yet (well i do have one but it's out of date!!) but dont want to go and buy some too soon as i will just use them

i think i will get BFN too as i dont think i have symptoms either but saying that i dont get many symptoms before AF - got to have hope right???

Bonifacio · 30/07/2008 14:26

Wow with all the travelling Flirty and Eth what countries have you been too then???

Good luck Saz and Summerbird try to be patient with the testing, like summerbird says rather test on D32 and get a positive than on D29 and get a negative!!

Kalikaroo · 30/07/2008 15:13

Wow, I've missed loads today!!

Hope you're all having a good day.

I'm off on holiday tomorrow, so won't be online until the week after next probably.

Starting to feel a bit nauseous with MS now and again, and everything tastes like earwax!

Hoping to see a few BFPs when I get back!!!!!

saz007 · 30/07/2008 15:23

Here's hoping you have a great holiday Kalikaroo not at all

Have a great holiday Kalikaroo where are you off to!!

eth37 · 30/07/2008 18:03

Oooo you've been busy this afternoon - Kali have a lovely time away - where are you off to?

I am getting impatient about testing too and I'm only CD21!! Have absolutely no symptoms though, and am fairly sure we missed the boat this month.

Crunchy - I agree with Saz - Sorrento is lovely, as is Amalfi (a little bit harder to reach but there is a bus that goes all the way down the coast from Naples. From Sorrento or Amalfi (I think) you can get boats to Capri, Ischia (quieter) and there's also a third island but I can't remember what it's called. Beautiful round there! I actually once did a trip which started in Sicily and flew back from Naples. DIdn't hire a car so was all done with buses and a particularly gorgeous train from Taormina in Sicily all the way to Naples! Sorry, I'm off on one.... I love Italy!! You'll have an amazing time!!

Bonifacio - are you feeling better? Actually, I think it is probably the middle of the night where you are..So I hope you had a better evening.

Anyone got exciting plans for tonight? DH has just phoned and apparently he's won a new MAC Air laptop!! Not sure what he's been up to....

eth37 · 30/07/2008 18:04

Summerbird - resist, resist resist!!

FlirtyThirty · 30/07/2008 18:25

I'm signing out for the night...going out on a very rare girls night out for dinner! Will be attempting to seduce Dh on my return though and have decided tonight's the night for trying the Preseed! God only knows where that'll end up if I have too much to drink...log on tomorrow for the gory details!!!

summerbird · 30/07/2008 18:43

eth i am being a good lickle angel and not even taking the cellophane off the box!!

i am signing out for tonight too as my FIL is coming round as he is working nearby, me and DH are taking him out for dinner. If he makes any comments about grandkids tonight i might have to make him pay for the entire evening (with his dinner thrown on his lap)!! He reckoned we should have been trying 3 months before the wedding last year, i think i may have mentioned it before - like as if i wanted to NOT drink on my wedding day and throw up over my bargain dress if was PG - i think not!!

Wish me luck girls!

summerbird · 30/07/2008 18:43

PS flirty you have a good one - i almost pity your DH when you get home, does he know what is in store??!!

Kalikaroo · 30/07/2008 19:14

I'm going to the UK to see my family, so it's not very exotic I'm afraid.

Be nice to have cheddar cheese, proper chip shop chips, oatcakes (!) and marmite!!!

I'm already salivating at the thought of the chips - YUM!!! We only get those skinny french fries here (Sweden).

I'm originally from the north of Scotland, so I've also asked my mum to get some butteries (for any Scots out there who know what I'm talking about!!).....

The Scandinavians are sooooooooo healthy!! (Except they all have a very sweet tooth!)

Bonifacio · 30/07/2008 21:25

Sounds lovely kalikaroo I always love going back for the fish and chips!!

Well no BD'ing tonight DP has just got in (its 4am) and is again too tired.

Think i'll be signing off for a while! Good luck ladies xxxx

bluestarlavender · 30/07/2008 21:31

Just got home and trying to catch up...which is very hard cos you guys are so chatty! Need to get some dinner, but just wanted to say:

Bonifacio - you okay?? you sound a bit hacked off and I'm worried...

Dawn - good to see you back and good luck for tomorrow. I have a feeling you'll be okay!

summerbird · 31/07/2008 08:47

kalikaroo it is lovely and hot over here and apparantly the north of scotland is roasting (if you are actually going there that is!)

the FIL behaved himself last night, no talk of grandkids - phew!!

bonifacio hope you have a good day today, there is a car advert on tv over here at the moment and the catch line is really good - it says

'Today is a new day. Yesterday? - forget about it!' that is my new motto!
