Hi All,

This is a difficult time for most women (and men) I think.

Certainly for me, I've waited a long time to get to this stage , having not met Mr Right until the age of 31. Now 34 and got married 2 months ago and now want to complete the family!

So, just started "trying" for a baby and due to my impatient nature, have already started using Ovulation Kits. (Probably not a good idea). I also did the Female Fertility Test and that seemed to have a good result aswell.

I was on Dianette for 8 years and came off of it 3 years ago. My cycles became regular again but every 5 weeks instead of 4. I had previously come off of the pill for 6 months and my cycles were regular, so I guess all this is a good sign.

Anyone else had similar experiences and fallen pregnant quickly? I know everyone's different but any good news stories help move us all along!! .

xx

Hello everyone!

crunchynutter - DH also says that about me - I am ridiculous about cleaning!! Tonight I couldn't bear to make chicken fajitas 'cos of the mess!!

How is everyone?

I am still feeling down that I think I messed up entire month's BD-ing.... Oh well - always next month!

Hope everyone's had a good Saturday! x

bluestarlavender · 26/07/2008 22:59

Hi guys!!

Just a quickie, cos I'm knackered tonight, but will catch up with everyone tomorrow.

Eth - don't feel down!! You might not have messed up. Sperm can survive a few days (upto 5 if you're lucky), so you might be in with a chance!! It's the X-chromosome sperm that can survive. Also you might have OV'ed the day before and just had some CM left over. I know what you mean though...it's annoying to think you might have missed it...but fingers crossed you haven't

Big wave to everyone else and a proper catch up tomorrow.

BSL x

Morning everyone!

Am I the only one who cant get TTC out of their mond?? I think about it all day and now I am dreaming about it at night!!!

Weird Dream though dreamt I was a surrogate for a freind of mine and she didnt want the baby when I had it for her!!!

summerbird · 27/07/2008 14:10

Blimey i have missed loads in two days!! Just for my catch up:

eth i am due AF on 4 August so we are only two days apart - it cant come quick enough for me

i am from North East too, am a true geordie bird! i also used to live in South London (Sutton) my in laws live just outside of Birmingham and i am now in South Manchster - i think i have just about covered the four corners of the country there!!!

i visited my friend and her 3 week old baby yesterday and she is a beauty, i wasnt too bad actually as it was v hot and she was a bit weepy (the baby that is!!) so although i got all the cuteness i also saw the other side to it, which was quite enlightening. Still i am getting that DH onto BDing later on!!

DawnAS · 27/07/2008 18:37

Hey all,

Hope all you ladies are good today!!

I'm a little today, there's something not right with Pip I think... This afternoon I noticed some browny coloured CM in my underwear and the most recent time that I went to the loo, noticed that the CM has changed to red. Very worried as you can imagine. Was having a lovely day enjoying the sunshine until then... Phoned NHS Direct and there's nothing they can do so I just have to wait and see what happens. It's weird though because if it's an MC I thought that there would be a lot of bleeding. I'm hoping that it's just slight spotting mixed with CM as it's exactly the same as what I got the night I got the Implantation Bleed. I don't have any pain either which I've heard you would get with an MC. But I don't know if an MC starts like this (it's been nearly 5 hours since I first noticed it) or whether it happens quickly.

Oh well, guess I'll just have to wait and see.... Can anyone that's on please send me some babydust for good luck?

xxxx

Here's a bagfull of babydust Dawn:

I'm keeping my fingers (and toes) crossed for your pip - hopefully it's just some harmless spotting and nothing more serious. I've heard that some women can bleed a bit during pregnancy, but that it doesn't affect the baby.

I'm feeling ok at the mo' but start to get a bit panicky every time I feel a cramp in case it's something wrong.

Try to keep as positive as you can. If you need a chat, let us know - we're all here for you!!

DawnAS · 27/07/2008 21:05

Hey K, thanks for your message.

I'm totally freaking myself out. Bleeding seems to have stopped but now I'm convincing myself that I'm having a chemical pregnancy. But surely you can't have one of those with an Implantation Bleed (which I had 2 weeks ago...).

I just want these 7 weeks to fly by so at least I know that the most dangerous time is out the way.

Don't worry about the cramping. That's really natural and all about your internal bits moving and preparing themselves for the pregnancy. I've had those two on and off. It's only when accompanied by bleeding that you need to worry.

I'm going to do another PG test tomorrow just to make sure that I'm definitely PG. I've taken 3 already and all were positive - but apparently it can still be a chemical one!! For goodness sake, it's enough to drive you mad!!

Hi All, how was your weekend??

Dawn, how are you?? Has the bleeding stopped, hopefully it was just some light spotting and was perfectly natural. I have my fingers crossed for you!!

Crunchy I'm also a clean freak!! Though at the minute we have a maid so don't actually have to do it myself anymore!! Yeah I know where Wolerhampton is, but can't say i'm close!!

I'm actually from Sheffield, Where abouts are you from in Sheff Eth (and I have my fingers crossed that you haven't missed OV, keep at it!! and Saz where abouts up north are you!!

Hi Kalikaroo how you feeling today??

Summerbird Wow we have lots of Northerners on here!!

Heverhoney I can't get it off my mind either!! Though I spoke to DP last night and said I don't like the idea of picking an actual date and starting so we decided to just stop using condoms from now on, (which is strange that we are still using them but I suppose I had it in my head that we were starting on THIS particular date) I think that took the pressure off a little.

My dreams are also all over the place, I dreamt last night that I was pg and thn gave birth accidentaly and I was on my own and had nothing that I needed for the baby like clothes etc, and I had to tie the umbilicle cord with my shoelaces. And then I went to find DP to show him the baby (it was a girl) and he wasn't interested but just kept playing on his gameboy I always hate when I dream that I am pg because when I wake up in the morning and remember i'm not I makes me a little sad...

Well speak to you all later when you are awake!! xxx

saz007 · 28/07/2008 08:37

Morning all, hope your weekend's were good

Dawn how are you today???? Fingers crossed all is well with you and pip and that your test comes up ok. We're all here for you!

Bonifacio I'm from just outside Newcastle

Heverhoney It's all I'm thinking about at the minute, it's weird I've never been like this over anything before.

Kalikaroo · 28/07/2008 08:52

Morning all - hope you had a nice weekend!

I just tried to drink my first cup of coffee since the BFP (I know, tut, tut! ) and it tasted foul !!!!

I feel fine though today - just completely knackered.

How are you today Dawn?

Is anyone testing this week????

DawnAS · 28/07/2008 08:55

Hi B,

Unfortunately the bleeding has got worse this morning. Nothing overnight but worse this morning.

I'm not really suffering from any pain yet although I maybe starting to imagine it soon. I can't stop crying though. I don't know how I'm going to talk to a doctor! Waiting for one to call me back.

The weird thing is that my symptoms have intensified over the last 24 hours, been to the loo loads and my boobs are even more sore than normal. Also didn't like the taste of my tea this morning... If it was an MC, I would have thought the symptoms would have started to fade...

DawnAS · 28/07/2008 09:00

Hi All,

Sorry ladies, between crying and trying to instant message my boss, it took me longer to get the last message out there!!

I did do another PG test this morning and the line was still dark, so I guess that's a good thing. But I don't know how MCs affect things really. I always expected a miscarriage to be heavy bleeding like or worse than a period with a lot of pain.

The bleeding is still fairly light and consistency is quite watery like it's mixed with runny CM as opposed to just blood on it's own... Still no pain either - apart from mental pain. This bloody crying is taking it's toll on my already spotty complexion .

Oh Dawn...I'm so Sorry i missed your weekend's messages! How awful for you - I can well imagine that your mind is working overtime! It is really VERY common to have this in PG though, and may not amount to anything at all. They can do a scan at the Early Pregnancy Unit from around 7 weeks, I think. They can't see much, but they can determine if the PG is progessing correctly. It may be something to try and push for if you are distressed (which is completely understandable!) Definitely get onto your midwife and doctor... keep us posted.

I'm sending you big cyber-hugs and plenty of babydust!

Love Flirty xxx

summerbird · 28/07/2008 09:06

saz where are you from then? i too am from just outside Newcastle (Dinnington - just by the airport). What a hoot if you are someone i grew up with!!

Kalikaroo i am a coffee freak and feel for you so i am drinking your coffee for you - it is lovely and i shall savour it all for you by proxy!!

Dawn are you ok? have you tested yet? i dont know anything about this but maybe it is just a bit of leftover CM. I am sure you will be fine but do keep us informed - we are all here for you, and here is some baby dust

FlirtyThirty · 28/07/2008 09:06

Look Dawn...even the NHS is saying this can be normal and women go on to have normal pregnancies...

What's your local hospital?

eth37 · 28/07/2008 09:33

Morning all,

DawnAS, sending you lots of hugs and babydust*** - I don't know much about this, but from reading other people's posts it does seem that a lot of people have early bleeding apart from implantation stuff. Do you have an EPU unit near you? I know there is one at Kings and Thomas's in London.
Let us know how you get on.

Kalikaroo - send me the coffee, I can get through a good 5 cups a day !!

Bonifacio - you're from Sheffield too! My parents/extended family are all from there, we're all massive Sheff Wed fans, from not far from Hillsborough at the top of the hill. What a small world!!

Well, I am gearing up for a morning of cleaning excitement! I hardly get anything done during term time, so it's a real luxury for me!

I hope you're all OK, girls. Dawn, do keep us posted and I know it sounds silly but if you can, try to keep calm. Is your DH with you? xxx

DawnAS · 28/07/2008 09:51

Hi eth,

Spoke to the doc this morning and she told me to rest today, but if the bleeding gets worse and I start to feel pain, that unfortunately I may be having a miscarriage. She's told me to call her in the morning, before my midwife appointment and if necessary she can send me for a scan at the EPU in the morning.

I'm keeping everything crossed and I'm going to get some food now. Haven't felt like eating anything this morning yet...

xx

FlirtyThirty · 28/07/2008 09:56

Dawn - really pleased that your Dr called back and seems to be willing to get you in to see the EPU tomorrow if necessary. That's really positive care.
Glad you're going to try and have some breakfast and take it easy today. Lie in the sunshine with a nice book or watch a movie, and try not to focus on the 'what ifs' all day. The best thing you can do now is try hard to relax and be good to yourself. Keeping everything crossed for you...babydust on its way from London...

eth37 · 28/07/2008 09:59

I agree with Flirty. try to relax and pamper yourself rather than focusing on every twinge. Go and buy some trashy magazines and lie in the sun if you can.
Your GP sounds really good, btw.

saz007 · 28/07/2008 10:03

Dawn totally agree with Flirty and Eth - good call ladies! you should def have a pamper day today. If you have sun outside (unlike me) then maybe a lie in it or a movie.
{{hugs}}

Can I ask what the EW in EWCM stands for please? I've looked on the acronym list but can't find it. I get the CM part but the EW bit has got me stumped! Thanks

eth37 · 28/07/2008 10:37

It is 'egg white'. Apparently because that is what that type of CM looks like (and is stretchy/runny too). Gross.
