Hi All,

This is a difficult time for most women (and men) I think.

Certainly for me, I've waited a long time to get to this stage , having not met Mr Right until the age of 31. Now 34 and got married 2 months ago and now want to complete the family!

So, just started "trying" for a baby and due to my impatient nature, have already started using Ovulation Kits. (Probably not a good idea). I also did the Female Fertility Test and that seemed to have a good result aswell.

I was on Dianette for 8 years and came off of it 3 years ago. My cycles became regular again but every 5 weeks instead of 4. I had previously come off of the pill for 6 months and my cycles were regular, so I guess all this is a good sign.

Anyone else had similar experiences and fallen pregnant quickly? I know everyone's different but any good news stories help move us all along!! .

xx

Hey Summerbird and Saz,

There's lots of different info on Implantation Bleeds. Going to give you lots of TMI now and also added a link.

It normally occurs between 6-12 days after OV (some sites say 8-10) and mine started with some reddy/browny coloured CM on the Sunday night. Thought it was very odd because AF was still about 9 days away. On the Monday morning, there was a very small amount (literally just a slight showing) of brown blood in my underwear (the sort that you get at the end of AF or right at the beginning). Then the same again on the Tuesday. All of this was accompanied by AF type cramps. Some people say it's not as bad as AF cramps, but it was worse for me because I only normally get them for a day during AF and these lasted a week! Still get them a little bit some days, but now it's down to ligaments and muscles moving around apparently !

www.babycentre.co.uk/preconception/activelytrying/toptensignsofpregnancy/

Also bear in mind that you can STILL have an AF if you're pregnant, particularly in the first month. So if you are PG, that would explain the very light AF this month.

I had some strange symptoms before my last AF aswell (which was only 1.5 days long last month), which is making me think that I might be further along than I am, but it could just have been a coincidence...

xxx

PS: Hope all that helps girls!!

PPS: Hey Crunchy - hope you're Ok today!!

wow thanks for that - i have saved the link and taken notes! i was good tonight girls, only had two beers, dont feel woozy though but was quite happy to stop at that (not like me!!)

Bonifacio · 25/07/2008 06:13

OMG Kalikaroo Fantastic news congratulations!! I definatley think you shoudl wait till the weekend then test again annd pretend to be shocked, it won't be that hard and I think its more about looking ridiculously excited, which lets face it your going to be able to pull off!!! Congratulations again!!

I too have an inability to stop talking about it to my DP and I know I am driving him mad, but in my defence we were supposed to start ttc over a year ago but he wanted to put it off till January this year so I agreed, then January cam and he wanted to put it off till now. So I have told him that if we had done it when we first agreed I wouldn't be obsessive or talk about it all the time, I also plan to defy gravity and have my legs in the air!! TMI but is it just me where absolutely loads falls back out (what a waste!! )

Also kalikaroo where in the world are you??

I can't believe I miss everything because of the damn time difference

Kalikaroo · 25/07/2008 08:45

Morning!

Thanks to everyone for your well wishes - I'm still in complete denial at the mo', but DH is back this evening so I'm going to tell him then!!

Bonifacio, we're living in Sweden at the moment.

Here'some babydust for everyone ***
I'll let you all know what happens when I tell DH!

FlirtyThirty · 25/07/2008 08:57

Hate to burst the bubble ladies...but the legs in the air is an old wives tale...scientifically makes no difference. Orgasm on the other hand, actively helps push the sperm in the right direction....

Oh, and Bonifacio...don't worry about loads coming out. It only takes one...and you are not alone!

Flirty x

saz007 · 25/07/2008 09:12

Hi all, hope you're all looking forward to the weekend!!

Dawn thanks v. much for the info, I've also saved the link for further reading

Bonifacio you are most definitely not alone!!

Flirty that sounds so much better!!

Bonifacio · 25/07/2008 09:13

Oooh Kalikaroo, Sweden how lovely, whats it like to live there??

Thanks Flirty Glad i'm not the only one! And orgasms help....are you sure I think that squezzes it out the wrong way in my experience anyway!!

I'm sat here in my gym kit, and have been for the past hour and a half, say something to make me go please......

eth37 · 25/07/2008 09:37

morning everyone!

How are you? Bonifacio - am also delaying going for a run, also sat here in my tracky-bottoms, but thinking it is too hot to jog right now! (yeah right...) I will go in a min...

Can I express my latest wittering (not sure that is a word!)? Can someone tell me please to stop being an idiot? Basically, almost as soon as we have BD-d each month and I know I have ov-d, (when I say each month, what I actually mean is this month!) I start panicking and looking at the horrific childbirth thread and really freaking out - it's almost like a panic attack thing, and I think 'oh my god, what have we done?!' Is that normal? I really really want a baby but am terrified of the whole process it involves!! Why hasn't someone invented an easier way yet?! Aaaaaagh. That's it, basically! So when I got my AF last month, (we had only had a half-arsed attempt and timed it all wrong so wasn't likely) I was disappointed, but also slightly relieved that I didn't have to endure the horrors it involved..> Does that make sense? Sorry for long rambling post....

heverhoney1 · 25/07/2008 09:52

hi I am a newbie here. I read your entire thread yesterday and I have to say I feel quite attached to you all!! Congrats Dawn and Kalikaroo!!!!

I started TTC only a couple of days ago and I am so pleased to have found people who are as over excitable as ME!!

Crunchy are you on any kind of vit suppliments? After coming off the pill several years ago (for reasons I will prob go into at a later date knowing me)I didnt get AF for 18 months!! and have been irregular ever since. However last month I started taking the vits and AF came exactly a month after the last 1 for the first time in 4 years!

saz007 · 25/07/2008 09:55

hi eth

Yeah I'm completely freaked by the whole birth thing. I mean, I know it's got to happen and it is what I (and all of us on here!) want but it just freaks me out. I think I'm beginning to get obsessed by the sizes of babys heads when I'm out and about! Everyone else goes on about how cute they are - I do agree with that, but the first thing I notice is the size of the head -how crazy am I?????

That's the first time I've actually told anyone that

eth37 · 25/07/2008 09:59

Saz I do that as well and I am not even pg! They look so big, don't they?... I have had a dream that I go through the whole birth thing, and its head literally gets stuck in the birth canal but it is too late for a cs... Can this happen?!
My best friend worked in Bangladesh for a year as a social worker and she said pg ladies were encouraged not to eat v much so that they wouldn't have big babies, hence supposedly they would have easier births! Not recommending that, obviously, just thought it was really interesting...

saz007 · 25/07/2008 10:25

sorry heverhoney1 wasn't ignoring you honest!! Welcome to the thread

eth i know it just doesnt look possible!! Not pg either...yet I think I started noticing it even before we started ttc. I really hope your dream can't actually happen

Bonifacio · 25/07/2008 10:35

Welcome Heverhoney We do tend to get a little obsessed on this thread, but we have had 2 BFP's in the last 3 days I think it was!! So we must be doing something right!! Well done on finally getting a regular AF, that should make BD'ing a lot easier!!

Eth & Saz I too worry about the size of newborns, I watch dicovery home and health almost daily and some of them are huge. I was tiny, like 5lb something so surely that means I will ahve a tiny baby too I worry about crowning, especially as it is affectionately nicknamed "the ring of fire" that does not sound pleasant at all!!

I managed to get to the gym, really pissed off though, I only did 45 minutes I am too lazy. And I only did a small swim, not a good day for me!

heverhoney1 · 25/07/2008 10:44

You lot think you are bonkers we only started ttc a couple of days ago (am on about CD9ish now so even if I do have regular cycle I not OV'd yet)and my DP has started patting my belly and telling me I cant drink anything. Not drinking is not a problem for me I am quite happy with my OJ but it made me laugh - I am now officially the families cabbie!!

On a more serious note I am glad I am not the only one who doesnt want the pressure of telling people we are TTC. Esp with my cycles I know it is likely to take us a good long while- If ever (but I can still hope cant I) THese forums are great because I can shout that we are trying AT LAST!!!! and not stress anyone out!

eth37 · 25/07/2008 11:04

Welcome, heverhoney!!! Don't worry, I am exactly the same - during my last period I was like 'ooo maybe I shouldn't drink, it could affect the next egg' - unfortunately I am too weak and find it rather tricky saying no to a large chilled glass of chablis!

Well done Bonifacio for getting to the gym, and 45 min sounds fine to me! I had a 27 minute run - pretty pathetic. But my excuse is that it is too hot for anything longer...!

BTW can I ask, where are you all in your cycle? Will we be testing at similar times? I am only CD16 so aaaaages to wait... AF due on 6 AUgust but am surprising DH for his birthday next weekend and we are going to Cologne. Really want to know if I can drink then (god, I sound like I have a problem!!) as I am terrified of flying and usually resort to the old wine solution....

heverhoney1 · 25/07/2008 11:09

I am only on CD 9 I think - Do I count CD1 as a tiny show or the full on AF - Sorry TMI I know??

FlirtyThirty · 25/07/2008 11:13

Hever - Welcome. You count from the first day of red blood... www.fertilityfriend.com is good for gaining some insight into your cycles and charting if you feel like it.

Eth - I'm on CD5 and starting the Summer of Love bonanza on Tuesday... Oh, and baby;'s head's can and do get stuck. They will often end up doing an emergency c-section if it happens. Don't panic about it now though...we'd all go crazy if we let the 'what if' thoughts take over...

Bonifacio - I'd be bloddy delighted with myself if I'd done 45mins in the gym!

saz007 · 25/07/2008 11:20

CD12 for me. AF due to land around 8 august

eth LOL you sound like me

We dont want to tell anyone that we're ttc.... slightly competitive SIL but that's a whole other story!! But as I'm known in the family for partaking in the odd glass (or few) of red wine, I fear I may be rumbled when I start turning them down - eek!

heverhoney1 · 25/07/2008 11:32

OOOOHHHH fertility friend says if my cycles are regular I could be entering intp a fertile time as soon as tomorrow!!! Poor DP he wont know what hit him lol

saz007 · 25/07/2008 11:40

Just been on FF for the first time and apparently I may OV tomorrow - that's exciting!

I may have done it all wrong tho....LOL

heverhoney1 · 25/07/2008 11:51

its not too late saz!!! IF ov tomorrow there is still time to get on the job if you know what I mean

Linwin · 25/07/2008 11:54

Hi Ladies,

Me I'm on CD5 only so count yourself lucky eth

Still its cycle 2 for me and I'm going to make sure we BD as much as poor DH can manage this month as last month was bit of a disaster. I hope hes been eating his weetabix!

saz I also have slighty (massively) competitive SIL although she has 3 already so knows everything there is to know about childbirth and children. Needless to say we are keeping schtum about TTC, its bad but I don't think I could stomach her advice, much better to hear what we should be doing from lovely strangers!

bluestarlavender · 25/07/2008 11:59

Morning guys!!

Hi Heverhoney!! and welcome!

Heverhoney and Saz - go for the BDing NOW NOW NOW!!! I was a bit naive cycle 1 and thought that I needed to BD after OV not before...don't make my mistake!!

Bonifacio - I would also be very happy if I'd managed 45 mins at the gym!!

Eth - I totally understand your birthing fears!! I was with my sis almost to the end of her first home birth (in a birthing pool) last September. And to be honest I was petrified for her, but it actually changed my mind a bit about birth. She had a really good experience. I still want a hosiptal birth though, with all drug known to mankind inside me to stop the pain!!

Kalikaroo - let us know how tonight goes!!

Flirty set up a really cool list on the other thread we're both on...so I was thinking maybe we can have a list here too for all the stats!

I'll start:

Undergraduates:
Bonifacio
Eth 37
FlirtyThirty
Saz
Summerbird
Crunchynutter
Heverhoney
BSL - TTC number 1 (obviously) Cycle 2, CD 4

Graduates:
Dawn
Kalikaroo

Sorry if I've missed anyone...

BSL x

bluestarlavender · 25/07/2008 12:00

Sorry Linwin!! I could only look at one page of our thread as I was doing the list!!

BSL x

crunchynutter · 25/07/2008 12:05

God how much have i missed??? Hi everyone!
My hubby came home last night (been working away) and we went on a date to watch a film lol was lovely but i feel awful today- dreaded migraine has hit me- iv just had some pills though (should have fed my grandads poor cat bout 2hours ago but cant drive i shall go soon!)

Heverhoney i am not taking anything- iron tablets are nearly up so off for yet another blood test next week to see if i can stop taking the bloody things- was thinking of buying some pregnacare tho? anyone here think they are any good? I think i was a little naiive about the whole thing but honestly thought my cycle would return quite quickly- 6weeks later still nothing What did you take Heverhoney?? any advice is much appreciated as i really want to start 'trying' more actively!! Fertility Friend wont let me on either for some reason
