Hi guys
Here is the lovely new thread. Maybe we might get some newbies as well?!?!?

OP posts:
Bellie · 26/06/2008 21:02

ooh wellies - just read the mumsnet news email - you are on it!! must try out your receipe we have tonnes of strawberries to eat as the plants in the garden are producing 70 a day!!

WelliesAndPyjamas · 26/06/2008 21:16

who, me???? how cool! fame at last! But for my recipe and not my witty postings??? We are actually having a fantastic year with strawberries. Picking a kilo a day. Seriously. I have made all sorts of things and given away a LOT. Made cordial today. Thinking of inventing a strawberry cake tomorrow.

All good at the mo. Still no sign. And I just got a tingly nipple. DH keeps asking me - and apparently his group of tourists are waiting to find out too
Fingers crossed.

bluestarlavender · 26/06/2008 22:23

Just got back from dinner and am now trying to catch up. The acronym list is amazing (and kinda funny), and invaluable for deciphering at the mo.

Good luck for tomorrow Wellies!!

WelliesAndPyjamas · 27/06/2008 08:43

so far so good
nice clean knickers (well you did say that there is no such thing as TMI on here!)

But I did remember this morning that AF was a whole 6 days late last month, for no apparent reason. Just hoping she isn't playing the same games with me again this month.

chestercat · 27/06/2008 10:00

Hi I have been lurking for months and am a newbie -I am TTCno2 half hearted for months but feel it is time to get down to it
Good Luck everyone

sparkletoes · 27/06/2008 10:42

Hi everyone, I feel that I def shouldn't be on this thread at all as am due in Nov with dc 2. However in my defence I would have loved to join such a supportive chat when TTC my ds 3 years ago as it took months & months and I almost lost hope altogether (and had no one to fess all to as all my friends managed it in a few nanoseconds of trying!! ). All I can say is this time I decided not to wait around and just get on with it and see wot happened... I actually remember telling dh that I would prefer NOT to have another baby this year, next year would be better. Needless to say this reverse psych between myself & my repro system all worked incredibly well for some reason(??) I hope that all of you get what you want very soon. Love, kisses & fertile vibes XOXO

HumphreysCorner · 27/06/2008 10:48

No lurking allowed-you have to join in! You are very welcome chestercat and lots of positive vibes heading your way.

Hello sparkletoes and congratulations-some of the ladies on here are due in November. Everyone is welcome on here.

Wellies-looking good matey. Non testing now.

DD2 is 2 today so must get on and start the mad clean for all the relatives coming tomorrow. My damned headache is lingering this month-day 5 but CD6 for me so 6 days until OV.

Have a lovely day ladies and I will check back later for any news.

Bellie · 27/06/2008 11:17

Happy Birthday Hc's dd2!!! Hope the cleaning clears the headache too!!

Welcome to chestercat wishing you lots of luck!!

Wellies - oohh still looking good then (and nice clean knickers too! )

bluestar - the acronym list is great but we all still make our own up too!! The more the merrier I say!

Hoep everyone else is having a good day. My insomnia is driving me nuts was awake at 3.30 this morning, dropped back off at 6.00 and the alarm went of at 6.45 . Have just tried to nap now as dd at nursery but the phone kept ringing. Not sure how to get through today dd is home from lunchtime and am supposed to be going out with the mums from nursery tonight! Need caffine but can't have it! Maybe dd will play nicely whilst I doze on the sofa in front of wimbledon!

ceebee74 · 27/06/2008 11:29

HC - Happy Birthday to DD2 . Hope she has a fantastic day and gets lots of yummy pressies! Still can't quite believe our little babies are growing up and are 2!!

Welcome to Chestercat and Sparkletoes

Sparkletoes - pop over to the Due Nov 08 ante-natal thread and say hello. There are 3 of us from that thread on there as this thread was obviously particularly lucky in February

Bellie - no caffeine? Why? Am I missing something? I thought it was ok whilst pg as long as you didn't have too much. I couldn't have got through the last few months without my 2 cans of diet coke every day

Wellies - nay news? Have you bought your test yet?

x

sparkletoes · 27/06/2008 11:42

I will do that ceebee thanks, it will make a nice change from searching the double buggies threads for the perfect solution (and ending up thinking sod it I'll go for a sling and just keep the single one)!

Yes Bellie, why no caffeine? I know you can't take loads but I also have terrible probs with insomnia and couldn't function without a (mild version) coffee in the mornings. I even went for de-caf a couple of times and it helped (obv purely psychological).

detoxdiva · 27/06/2008 11:44

Crikey - I go to work for 1 day and look whats happened to the thread!

Hello to CC & ST (it's nice to be among other newbies here too!)

Happy birthday to your dd2 HC - hope you have a lovely weekend

Thanks for the messages BSL & BM - I am a little apprehensive about having the coil removed, but it didn't really bother me having it put in so I'm hoping all will be well!! Good luck to both of you - hopefully we'll have some good news soon.

Have a good day everyone

Bellie · 27/06/2008 11:44

ceebee/sparkletoes - caffine makes my sickness worse - the smell of coffee or tea is enough to make me run to the loo heaving . I had the same with dd. However tired I am it isn't worth trying!!

sparkletoes · 27/06/2008 11:55

Bellie - Ahhh, yes I have only relatively recently been able to stomach it myself, how far along are you?

ceebee74 · 27/06/2008 11:55

Bellie - aah that makes sense now. Poor you - diet coke seems to make my sickness better (I think it is the fizzyness of it) but have completely gone off cups of tea

Sparkletoes - ooh if you are interested in double buggies, definitely find the ante-natal thread as they are experts on all forms of pushchairs, particularly double ones - although I now have too much information in my head and still have no idea what to buy! How old is your first child? I have a DS already who is 2 in a couple of weeks.

ceebee74 · 27/06/2008 11:56

Forgot to mention that I can only drink diet coke now from a glass with ice and through a straw - it drives DH mad!!

Bellie · 27/06/2008 11:58

sparkle - I am 9 weeks - although it feels like a lot longer as I have been so tired/sick. But hopefully things will only get better! .

Not complaining at all as have been trying for so long, but some days it all gets a bit much iykwim.

HumphreysCorner · 27/06/2008 11:58

Yes Bellie, before DD1 was born I drank tea and coffee. Couldn't bear either when PG then went back to tea but have not touched coffee since and she is 5 in July. I go off tea with sickness bugs too. Am also a crispaholic but the mere thought of the flavours sent me running to the loo. Still can't wait to go through all this again though.

sparkletoes · 27/06/2008 12:15

Bellie - me too, tiredness and sickness (to point of ending up in hospital wi Hyperemisis last month). It has been a challenging time but of course am still over moon to be in this position. Have you been to see GP about it, mine said ok to take stemetil after 10 wks and it can also have a sedating affect. I have only had to take it a few times for the sedation but it did seem to help (took it a whole lot more for the Hyperemisis and it was less helpful haha!) Not keen on popping pills but this time around have felt I have no choice as need to look after ds and work part-time (also been referred to Occ Health Fanjos for my sickness record now . Up to you tho, certainly not trying to push u into medication route but it helped to know there was something available when it got unbearable. xx feeling your pain! xx

landoflove · 27/06/2008 12:24

Hello to all,

Anybody else on the long two week wait? I'm 4DPO and keeping my fingers crossed.

roseability · 27/06/2008 12:55

Hi everyone! Can I join you? TTC # 2 on CD 21 of cycle number 5. We have BD at all the right times, so i'm quite positive this month. The only thing is I have PCOS, although my periods have been pretty regular since my DS was born 2.2 yrs ago. The only odd thing is that I had slight spotting on CD 10 and 11 along with EWCM. Has anyone else experienced this? I am hoping it was ovulation spotting and not my hormones playing up.

detoxdiva · 27/06/2008 13:05

Hi Roseability - welcome! I'm new and have PCOS too. Also trying for #2, but my cycle ranges from 30 - 46 days so tracking things is a little difficult. Good Luck

roseability · 27/06/2008 13:21

It sucks having PCOS dosen't it? I know i'm very lucky that I already have a DS and that my cycles are fairly regular but I have all the other nasty symptoms. Hair in unwanted places and excess weight on the tummy are the worst ones. I know if I lost a bit of weight it would help me conceive but it just won't budge! I exercise regularly and don't eat that much but I'm still overweight. I hate it!

Although I have a period every month and 27-30 days, I have heard you can have annovulatory cycles with PCOS

Mandy73 · 27/06/2008 13:50

Busy busy here, welcome new lovely people, great! That?s it, I?m never going away from here to focus on DIY & BDing for two days in a row ever again.

MJIM ? Sorry about that report, it does feel totally negative, precious & out-of-proportion. Hope the kicking is bearable!

Soosy ? your poor DS! How is he doing now?

CE, hop on the wagon! xx We?re pretty much even stevens this cycke I think? I?m CD 13 today, are you on 12? I'm OPKing but no yet, got it on CD 15 last time, but DH is very good at sending in the troups at regular intervals to cover all bases

Wellis, any symptoms? Tested? Anything? x

Majormoo, how are you today? I?m with you ? wouldn?t swap 35 for 14 again for the world. And yes, down with Sylvia, the rude little sh*t stirrer.

HC, your poor head! Do you feel sick from your migraines too? How annoying with the pills. Happy birthday to your DD2! x

Bailymist, as with CE we?re pretty even this month, yes? ? yippee, let?s go for it.

Detoxdiva, I love your name too. Best of luck with the coil removal.

Willmouse, hope you?re not too stressed out/whacked. Come back soon!

Welcome Bluestarlavender! (gonna have to find an abbreviation for you ) I was crap with all the acronyms for about a week, couldn?t even find the Useful Stuff: Acronym List at the top of the page Just ask, the?re not all in there. x

Ceebee, I understand but you shouldn?t feel guilty. Never a perfect time is it.

Hi Belgianbun, nice to see you. x

Hi Chestercat, loving your username, good luck with stepping things up a gear.

Hi Sparklytoes, Landoflove & Roseability, more great names! Thanks for the vibes Sparkly. Oh yeah. Groovy.

sparkletoes · 27/06/2008 14:25

Sorry just noticed your previous post ceebee - that'll teach me for being on more than one at a time! My ds is 2 at end of August. I also have TMI on the double buggy front hence my apathy to the whole thing!

Thanks to all my other welcomes - more vibes coming your way....

ceebee74 · 27/06/2008 14:49

Mandy - wow that is some post!! Very impressive Are you walking like John Wayne yet?

Sparkle - our circumstances are spookily similar! Me and dh keep having the 'buggy' conversation and then giving up as it is just too hard to decide!! I had these wonderful visions of me walking to nursery every day with DS and the baby in a smart double buggy whilst on maternity leave and picking DS up again at the end of the day.....until it eventually occurred to me that this one will be a winter baby therefore it will be raining most days, freezing cold and dark by the time I pick DS up sp not quite the idyllic little walks I had envisioned! I got spoilt with DS as he was born in July, in the hottest summer ever and, in my mind, that is what being on maternity leave is all about

Hi to everyone else - have got 2 hours and 10 minutes left to work before I have a whole week off - I am so demob happy hence why I am spending far too much time on MN this afternoon
