Hi guys
Here is the lovely new thread. Maybe we might get some newbies as well?!?!?

CE yes, I?m laughing too - v happy he?s volunteered to be mega involved, makes it all seem more real & fun. How are you doing? Looking forward to Bodyshop Party? Hmm, you are sporting some interesting symptoms...

Bluestar we are indeed! Well, your symptoms sound v interesting too... Hang in there.

Mrsleroyjethrogibbs how old are your DC?

Dawn it sounds a bit odd, I hope you?re OK. Are you tempted to chart yourself with some APKs or temping? It can give you a real sense of control since at least you?re ?doing something? if you know what I mean. We have some big temping fans/experts here, I think you put it all into a computer program (Fertility Friend, right?). And I swear by OPKs now since they helped us! Agree with HC the pains are similar.

Detox good girl, chin up.

Ceebee sounds lovely, must be great to see your DS so happy! Bet you are both dreaming of Thomas now...

HC oh dear, I?m sorry it wasn't good. Happy you?re back. W O W you really are sporting some v v strong symptoms. How exciting. I?m well thanks!

Hi to everyone, like HC said, I hope you?re OK Belgianbun, Willmouse, Chestercat, Bellie, JuanitaD, MJIM, Majormoo, Flirty and DaisyJ. And anyone I may have missed, sorry!

When is the first antenatal appointment normally? Do you call GPs when you?re a bit further down the line as to not count your chickens etc?
Many thanks,
Mandy 4+3 (sorry but I?m just so damn happy! And light headed. xx)

HumphreysCorner · 14/07/2008 14:00

You need one of these to take your temp (under your tongue is best) then plot it on Fertility Friend-this is my chart for example Lol at feeling hotter if you are PG. No, you may feel shivery but your temp may still be high. DH turned the heat up in the caravan Sunday morning hence a high temp of 37.01-I was roasting so in that case I did feel hot.

As you guys can tell I'm completely clueless about temping!! If I get a BPN this month, I might have a think about temping and some OV sticks!

Back to work....

Can i join you? Trying to conceive dc 2 after late miscarriage (18 weeks) at Christmas. DH and I have been trying for 4 months without much luck... Using a persona at the moment to track ovulation but had a weird last month as no ovulation and cycle went from regular a 28 to 32 days.

Mandy73 · 14/07/2008 15:32

Welcome hattscat, sorry to hear about your difficult Christmas. How old is DC1?

FlirtyThirty · 14/07/2008 15:56

Hi ladies...
I'm sick Have got some infection/virus/God knows what...but it's horrid. No nausea (for which I'm grateful) but my whole body aches and my temp is running at 39.5 - which is bloody hot in case you're in any doubt! (And is going to throw FF into a total frenzy!?)

Hope you ladies are having a better time of it...have cheered myself up by ordering some First Response ovulation tests online...they are on 2 for 1 in case anyone else is interested...oh, and so are the PG tests.

Back soon,
Flirty xxx

Love Flirty x

HumphreysCorner · 14/07/2008 16:06

Hello and welcome hattscat-so very sorry to hear that you had a MC at 18 weeks. This is the right thread to be on and we have a laugh.

Flirty-crikey, hope you feel better very soon.

Got to go to mum and dad's now so they can look after the girls while I go to WW.

DS is just two. Thanks for the welcome!

ChocolateEclair · 14/07/2008 18:09

hi girls

welcome to hatscat - sorry about your recent experiences. Hope that good news is just around the corner. This is a very lucky thread so hopefully it will be for you!

flirty - jeez! That is hot! Hope you feel better very soon, get some rest and take lots of fluids on!

HC - so the weekend was rubbish then? Pah! Next time you should organise the weekend away and not tell your dh til the last minute so he can't invite them!

ceebee - glad ds had a fab party! It sounds lovely. LOL at all the thomas presents!

Mandy - gald you are so happy! Keep that in mind when you're leant over the toilet bowl in a couple of weeks! I made my GP appointment at about 5 weeks but the midwife didn't get in touch til about 8-9 weeks I think. GP would not be surprised if you went early, as it is your first!

BSL/DawnDetox - I think you should try temping. I love it! There is some very funny symptom spotting going on!

I am desperately trying not to obsess here! Now, repeat after me......I will not look for symptoms!

OOO...we booked our holiday, finally! We go on 26th july, day after my sisters wedding! We have got a great deal on an all inclusive in Calas de Mallorca! It sounds very relaxing and we probably won't leave the complex! Just think, in 12 days I'll be laid out on a sunny beach (maybe with a BFP, or if not there's lots of free wine to drown sorrows!)lol

Evening everyone! Blimey - you have been a chatty lot today!!

HC- Hi! Glad you have recovered from the weekend. Well it's cd 35 and still no af - am gong to test tomorrow. Had a 43 day cycle last month (my longest ever) so who knows???? Think I might get a thermometer and see if that gives me a clue next month

Mandy - good to hear all continues to be well with you!

Welcome to hattscat - so to hear about your miscarriage. Hope you have good luck soon.

Ok - have to go and sort out dd for bath and bed - catch up with everyone soon x

Evening all

Will try and catch up later when I have more time.

Just wanted to say we have had a fantastic day today!! Thomasland was just great and DS was so excited all day (not that keen to go on some of the rides but once he was on, he loved them). Got some great photos which I will post later/tomorrow.

It has certainly kept mine and DH's mind off Wednesday and thankfully I have tomorrow off work to recover from this weekend - think I might spend most of it in bed asleep once DS has gone to nursery

juanitad · 14/07/2008 19:47

Hi all,

Hope everyone has survived Monday..worst day over!!

HC - had scan a couple of weeks ago. All seemed fine, no problems came up. We didn't find out the sex as we are still quite keen on a surprise.

CE - how fab that you've booked your holiday. I am a big big fan of Mallorca, it's so lovely, we've been there a few times over the last few years. The name of your resort sounded familiar, do you know whereabouts in Mallorca it is?

My bro and SIL have just started on their first round of IVF, but have just found out that the drugs that SIL was given weren't strong enough, so they can't actually start the whole thing properly for another couple of months, as her cycles have to go back to normal before she can start with a new course of stronger drugs. I had got it into my head that it would all work out for them first time, and that we would be pg together, and that the little cousins would grow up together, lovely. I know I live in a bit of a dream world sometimes, and that things aren't as simple as that and you can't expect IVF to work out straightaway, but it was still a disappointment for them and sets them back by a few months. What is everyone else's experiences of IVF? What is the success rate does anyone know?

mrsleroyjethrogibbs · 14/07/2008 19:56

hi mandy
my dc are dd5 and ds 3 next month

DawnAS · 14/07/2008 20:12

Hi All,

Well I'm in Reading now with my friend and have just had a feel of her bump!! Her little monkey is wriggling around while we're sat here - so cute to watch! She's due in a month so getting close now.

Anyway, still not quite sure what's happening with me. 7 days after OV and CM still seems to be pinky/browny in colour but actual brown spotting, only had this morning and don't seem to be having any blood now (sorry if TMI).... Cramps have stopped too. Hoping it's an Implantation bleed as it seems to tie in with descriptions that I've read and it is quite a while (9 days) until AF is due.

I think I will start temping next month as I didn't find the OPK kits very good for me as I seemed to get a positive result twice one weekend after another, very strange.

Thanks for all the advice on that ladies, I just need to get myself a thermometer now...

MJIM - wow, your 'bean' is really progressing! Dunno how you always keep up so well with us guys! It's really nice!

DD - I've still got my fingers crossed for you this month!! No AF is still a good sign!

Flirty - good to see you back, but I'm sorry you've been ill!

Hattscat - sorry to hear what you've been through and glad you're joining us! So far seems to be quite a lucky baby-dust-ridden thread!!

HC - thanks for all the advice re: temping...going give that a go before the OV stick me thinks. Any symptoms??

CE - also any symptoms...I'm having major guilt about going on about my phantom symptoms! I'm hoping other people are as obssessed as me??

Mrsleroyjethrogibbs - how long have you been TTC?

Mandy - so glad things are going well and that you guys are still up on cloud nine!!

Sorry itf I've missed people...it's been a long day!!

Dawn - still got a few slight cramps, but they've been dying away today...not feeling too hopeful. I guess what will be will be

MJIM - I am sure your DS would love it and I have a feeling it is not far from you (iirc). It is in Drayton Manor theme park which is near Tamworth - I am sure you live in the Midlands don't you??

DawnAS · 15/07/2008 09:47

Hi All,

Think I'm out for this month aswell, even though not much blood at the moment, cramps definitely feel like AF cramps, even though I'm not supposed to be due until next Wednesday. So maybe cycle hasn't quite settled down yet - boo hoo! BSL, we'll try again next month!

So may start temping now and see if I get a slightly better idea of OV from that.

Hope you all have a lovely day! Meetings in Uxbridge all day today so won't be on line again probably until tomorrow...

xxx

HumphreysCorner · 15/07/2008 09:51

Morning all

ceebee-they are nice photos, lovely and big. Pleased you had a lovely day. Just tomorrow to deal with.

soosy-woohoo! Brilliant news about the house-you can enjoy your hols now.

detox-I'm sorry about your BFN. I too got a BFN this morning but found there were 2 tests in the packet (from Ebay) so still have 3 tests left so can test again tomorrow and the day after and the day after that before I buy some more. Chin up my lovely.

juanitad-{{hugs}} to your bro and sil. Hope it works out for them.

bluestarlavender-I have different symptoms this month so the month I actually fall PG I probably won't have any symptoms and a BFP will come and surprise me. Yeah, in my dreams. It's fun to obsess symptom spot so that is what we should all do!

My temp has risen again today so not given up hope yet.

Have had another argument over the bl*&dy caravan and PIL this morning. Hated the weekend away and he keeps telling me I'm ungrateful. Then I said don't forget it is DD1's sports day today and he said 'sod you, if I make it I do, if I don't I don't'. Git, it is DD1 he is letting down and not me. Better watch out as there will be no baby if we don't start getting on better.

Anyway, have lots of ironing to do before I go to the sports day so better get on.

Back later and hello to everyone else!

HC

Dawn-don't give up as AF cramps and pre PG cramps are the same! Buy a Basal thermometer from Ebay or Boots the Chemist (or any chemist of course) and off you go!

See you tomorrow!

bluestarlavender · 15/07/2008 10:00

Morning all,

Sossy - great great news about the house! You guys definitely did the right thing by playing the waiting game!

DD - sorry about the BPN! But still no AF?? There's still hope! I have no news. Had a few cramps this morning, but really not feeling very hopeful. Had a tearful evening last night, but I'm not reading anything into that! DH and I were just tired and I weep at the drop of a hat anyway. I think if I was PG I would be having proper symptoms by now and I'm not.

Therefore I've also decided to declare war now! Started temping and charting this morning using fertility friend, I know it's mid cycle, but at least I can get an idea of temperature and how and what to chart for the rest of the cycle. Also ordered some pre-seed. Now, wondering about OPK kits or LH kits...need to do some research to know which one to try!
