Hi guys
Here is the lovely new thread. Maybe we might get some newbies as well?!?!?

OP posts:
DawnAS · 11/07/2008 09:19

Mandy73 - that is just amazing!!!

You must be so chuffed!!!

"Congratulations and Celebrations.....la la la la la la" sorry if you're having visions of Cliff Richard now.....

Just out of interest, do people tell their DHs/DPs first or do they come on here first?! Ha ha ha!!!

You'd better pass the virtual wine over to here now and then feast yourself on chocolate!!

bluestarlavender · 11/07/2008 09:22

DawnAS · 11/07/2008 09:31

HC, I've taken my note taking one step further.... We get given Diaries at work that I NEVER use, so I've written all my symptoms, by date, in my diary.

Yes, I really am an obsessive mad woman !!

xx

(OK, maybe all that was TMI )

Mandy73 · 11/07/2008 09:34

BB thank you lovely girl. Yup there is hope, I?m living testament ? sending all sorts of good luck vibes to you!! x
Detoxdiva thank you sooo much! [still in disbelief emoticon]
Ceebee thank you! Heck no I'm going nowhere. x
Dawn thank you!x I told you guys first. After all we share everything, no? Also DH left early today and I want to tell him in person tonight but I had to share to make it real somehow.
Bluestar thank you sweetie!x I?m happy to be grilled... I?m CD 27 of 28, no sorry, 3-4 weeks PG , about 13 dpo.

This is crazy. Took a pic of myself holding the BFP test for DH and then I v nearly cried with joy but it's not really sunk in yet.

For all fellow long-term TTC-ers & early symptom spotters maniacs I'm happy to post what we did differently this cycle & what felt differently in me after OV (& compelled me to do a cheeky test a day early - quite a lot if I'm honest .)

Mandy73 · 11/07/2008 09:36

PS: Thank you Flirty!x Not clever just dedicated to BD Fest-08 (summer of Love)

detoxdiva · 11/07/2008 09:40

Mandy - you have inspired me to start my own summer of love

Got a bfn today - not surprised, and wasn't going to test but those dammed ebay tests arrived so I had to check they worked didn't I !!!

So as soon as af arrives dh isn't going to know what's hit him . Mandy is living proof of the power of lots of shagging

Mandy73 · 11/07/2008 09:42

I am indeed.
Sorry about the BFN though - it's never fun.

bluestarlavender · 11/07/2008 09:50

Ok Mandy, spill!! I want to know everything!

chestercat · 11/07/2008 10:33

Congrats Mandy - Which test did you use ?

HumphreysCorner · 11/07/2008 11:35

Oh I say Mandy-that is fabulous news. A lovely March baby. Do tell how you felt and knew to test early.

detoxdiva-I am very sorry about your BFN. Soul destroying isn't it? Have you tested early per chance?

Lost the top of my pond fountain (the piece with holes in that makes the water spray out) a few weeks ago. I have just been to my pond and found a) a dead fish (don't think it is one of mine as not gold) b) the cardboard tube left after a firework has finished and c} the missing piece laid very neatly on the safety gridding just 3 inches away from the fountain. Twilight zone or what???? I was trying to put some solar powered lights in the ground round the pond and I have smashed one putting it in so am very and with myself. There was only 4 in a pack so need to get some more as 3 is not enough. Perhaps it is PG hormones making me so upset this week

Hope everyone is OK. Must get on-can't wait for news from ceebee.

Love to all

Mandy73 · 11/07/2008 11:38

Many thanks Chestercat! How are you doing?
I went with Clearblue non-digital, one out of a two-pack. Have a digital one in my drawer too but heard they are less sensitive for testing on -1 day before AF. Also did a CB digital OPK stick for fun, have heard so much about using 'leftover' OPK sticks as HPT on peeonastick.com. And yeh, got a 'happy face'.
You testing soon? Everything crossed for you! xx

OK Bluestar here's my BFP symptom diary, sorry about TMI (please bear in mind it's so individual all this. And over the past 11 months I've become v aware of what's 'normal for me' in terms of CM & cervical position - so these observations only really make sense in that context):

What I did differently in cycle 11 of TCC:
2nd month charting with CB digital OPK.
Drank lots of grapefruit juice (not from concentrate!).
Chilled out more, treated myself to some super lazy guilt free days.
Cut down on alcohol loads (both of us) and coffee (me).
Had lots of sex in the week before ov and up until three days after ? that probably did it! Said it before: Cheap-o miniskirt was a masterstroke, and we were not looking forward to getting ourselves referred in Aug so both v motivated.

Main early symptoms that made me go ?Hmm?:
5 dpo onwards: Heightened sense of smell. Convinced the whole house is mouldy & full of hidden rotting bin bags.
6dpo onwards: Lost interest in alcohol ? just doesn?t taste good.
8-11dpo. Emotional wreck: V teary, sad, angry. Even googled 'Divorce'. Poor DH. Seems v silly now .
8 dpo onwards. Cervix low and firm, I?d even say ?long?. Never felt anything like it.
9 dpo onwards: V slight nausea/burping in the mornings, like something?s stuck in my throat.
9 dpo onwards: Stringy white or faintly yellow CM at a time when I?m normally dry or spotting pink/brown CM in the five days before AF. A big indicator for me.
11 dpo onwards: Vivid disgusting dreams. Bleeding gums like I?ve never had (and mine often bleed a little).

  • lots of mild cramping & pulling throughout starting on 4 dpo, v low & deep, sometimes more on one side. Wider area over pelvic bone swollen unlike before AF when there is a hard ?centre core? in there. More like OV pain than AF cramping. Never needed a painkiller. Absolutely no change in my (.)(.) - surprising as they are v sensitive normally.

Hope this was of some help/interest to someone. xx

DawnAS · 11/07/2008 11:50

Mandy, can I just ask, when you say "lots of sex", how much do you regard as "lots" (in my DHs understanding, lots for me is more than once a month - ha ha).

We've been doing it either every day or every other day for the last two weeks, OVd this weekend (I think...).

xxx

Mandy73 · 11/07/2008 12:01

Sounds like you're bang on target Dawn! Normally 'lots' for us would be more than once a week. For the past 5 months it's been more than that though, perhaps 3 times/week esp when we though I was OVing.

But this cycle we BDd CD 7, 9, 11, 13, 14 (OPK surge detected), 15, 16 & 17.

DawnAS · 11/07/2008 12:15

Thanks Mandy, I'm just convinced that everyone else is having it every day! It's good to know that I'm not doing that badly... .

xx

chestercat · 11/07/2008 12:49

Was doing well and wasnt going to test till sunday but i want to test now. Havent got any in house so will have to buy tonight.
Not feeling to hopeful though have no symptoms at at
Am so pleased for you Mandy

HumphreysCorner · 11/07/2008 13:34

Oh darn it-the only symptom I have is the cramping but as I don't know if I am on DPO 4 or DPO 6 then, well, I don't know.

Am trying to load the caravan up but it is pissing throwing it down with rain and not making it an easy task.

Ironing to do.

Guys,

Just wondered if this counted as a sign/symptom?....

Got my new Next catalogue today and dropped it ('cos they're so flamin' heavy!!) and it landed open on the maternity clothes page? What d'ya think ?

Definitely a sign I think!!

Hi ladies. Can I join? I'm getting onto a few threads at the moment to encourage myself! Just started TTC again this month after MC in March. LOL about what 'lots' of sex is - for us more than twice a month, probably. We only managed CD 11, 13 and 16 this month - was going to go for 19 as well, but had v. late night and too tired! Am going to be v. disciplined and try 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20 next month. Took us 9 months last time and I don't want to wait that long again, especially as I'm 36 and DH is 41.

Lovely to come across such a jolly few posts - congratulations mandy

ceebee74 · 11/07/2008 14:25

Ladies - will read all the posts later on but managed to grab 5 minutes before going back to work. Have been at the hospital for ages.......aagh!!

Anyway, we finally managed to escape. Scan was good - there may be an issue with the baby's bowel so I have to go for another scan on Wednesday where the consultant can have a look - they don't seem overly concerned so trying to not to worry. But the big news is that it is a...............................BOY - yeah!! Am so pleased as secretly it was what both me and DH wanted

Will catch up later but wanted to get this on for HC before she flits in the caravan with her Blossom Hill

bluestarlavender · 11/07/2008 14:31

Hi guys,

Just popped out for lunch...everyone's been really chatty!

Dawn and Mandy - thanks for the clarification of what 'lots' meant...I was just coming back in to ask. We've managed to BD CD 4,5,6,7,9,10, then we were both ill so we missed 3 days, 14, 15, 16, 17...I think I OV'ed on day 15. Looking back at that, I think we've overkilled on the BDing, and sorry for the TMI. I guess we've been a bit keen as it's our first month. Truth be told...I have no hopes for this month...this week the BDing has been a bit of a chore (not a good sign for baby making) and also with DH not 100% i"m sure the 'troops' are feeling a bit ropey too!

Dawn - I would def take the catalogue as a sign!!

And Hi to Daisyj!

BSL x

bluestarlavender · 11/07/2008 14:37

Ceebee - congratulations on finding out you guys are having a boy!!! That's wonderful news!

HC - fingers crossed...we can symptom spot together now...I'm a couple of (paranoid) days behind you!! And have a wonderful trip away! When are you back?

BSL x
