Hi guys
Here is the lovely new thread. Maybe we might get some newbies as well?!?!?

OP posts:
DawnAS · 10/07/2008 15:19

Hey BSL,

I'm going to be a good girl and not even buy myself a test until after my AF due date.

It'll be hard, but my best friend told me last night that I'd never hold out - so in effect she laid down the gauntlet - so I WILL NOT BUY ONE!!

Flirty how are you babe? Well, much to your (no doubt) dismay, I am making an appointment to see a different lady now... She comes highly recommended but is so busy that you can only get hold of her between 8.30-9.30 in the morning.

I know I shouldn't, but once I've got something into my head, I have to see it through...

Oooh BSL I can feel a twinge , ooops, sorry, just bad wind - ONLY JOKING - HA HA HA!!!

I know, you wouldn't believe I'd just turned 34 would you?!

bluestarlavender · 10/07/2008 15:26

Dawn,

I think we've got AF due about the same time, I might follow suit and not buy one til 25th!! It's only 15 days to go, although I was wondering if I OV'ed on Tuesday...should I be counting 14 days from then?? I am so confused. Anyhow, I am going to wait til at least 25th and try them!

Oh, I have no will power!

bluestarlavender · 10/07/2008 15:30

Hi Ally,

I don't know if anyone else gets this, but in the week leading up to AF, I always get ridiculously starving hungry!! I'm sure it must be the same thing as in early pregnancy, your body basically getting you ready incase you become pregnant.

I hate it, cos I always put on a couple of pounds and feel huge and heavy because of that and being on. The weight comes off afterwards, but it's definitely not water retention, just me being a piggy .

FlirtyThirty · 10/07/2008 15:45

Dawn - I don't judge you. I'd probably be tempted to believe a woman with a crystal ball, caravan and large hoop earrings if she told me what I wanted to hear... Glad thsi one comes recommended though! I'm actually very curious to hear what she says... When are you going? Soon?

Oh and as for testing, I think I'm going to try and stick to only testing when I'm late...can't aford to be testing every 2 minutes...and I suspect they're like Pringles...once you start...

ally90 · 10/07/2008 15:47

AF? Artificial Fertilisation? Just when I felt I knew all the acroynms on MN I come across a new dictionary full!

Tbh I don't usually notice cycles..I get to the part where I don't want dh near me...actually that would be PMT but don't notice hunger...well I do eat a lot but not snacks now I'm at home all day...however at work it was a different story...even food sat out since the night befores meeting

HumphreysCorner · 10/07/2008 16:42

Afternoon all

Gosh, have set you talking about IL's. I get on 90% better with mine than I did but still don't want them holidaying with us.

Anyway-all you symptom spotters. I have terrible cramps but I think it is down to all the once a month BD'ing obviously pulling lots of muscles with the activity. Am refusing to spot things and hoping I can resist testing although DD1 has her sports day on Tues DPO 10 so may have to sneak a test in prior to that. Have already worked out a due date of 30th March-ha, ha!

I won't have internet access until Sunday night so hoping there will be some BFP's.

Enjoy your lovely new car ceebee-does he have a name?

Must get the girls some tea as they have had 3 late nights and are shattered (me too-had to switch BB off 10 mins before the end to go to sleep last night)

Waves to everyone else.

HC

DawnAS · 10/07/2008 16:51

Bugger!! I didn't think about all the cramps being down to over-exertion of BDing!! I didn't even think it would have that sort of effect...

Bugger bugger bugger....

xxx

PS: Why I thought I'd see symptoms considering I'm only supposed to have finished OVing this week, is beyond me!!

bluestarlavender · 10/07/2008 17:00

I'm not really expecting to 'feel' anything til at least the end of next week!!

DH is already rolling his eyes at me though! I think he realises I am going to be a nightmare for the next few weeks.

Being my first cycle TTC...I think I have really high expectations. So just need to calm down and chill out.

DawnAS · 10/07/2008 18:00

BSL - I'm exactly the same as you. I'm just expecting it to happen first time around. It's almost like I can't get my head around why it WOULDN'T happen? When you understand the process, it all seems so straight forward doesn't? Why doesn't it work?!

Oh well, like you say, next month will probably be easier. At least if you experience some of these symptoms and you're not pregnant, you'll know not to dwell on them too much the following month...

xx

HumphreysCorner · 10/07/2008 20:01

I was convinced it would happen the 1st month and had all the symptoms. Then it didn't so I thought deffo the 2nd month as I had different symptoms but no. So this month I am not going to find any symptoms. An ex colleague of mine that had IVF was told by her Dr that the egg usually gets fertilised every month but it just doesn't get embedded.

Ladies-it will happen. Just hoping that one of you will get a BFP if I ever do so I will have a buddy on the antenatal thread.

I am sorry to hear about your PIL HC, time together is so precious you would think they would not intrude.

Mandy I have a witch difficult SIL. She would stay in bed for the whole weekend at my parents house. We had our first barney when she blabbed to everyone that we were having IVF when I had asked her not to. She is physically unable to apologise and thought I was expecting one, I know not to! wouldn't speak to me until my Mother died, about five years. We don't speak now either, she likes to invite my brothers to stay with her and specifically exclude me. I have decided not to care anymore.

MJIM glad to hear everything ok!

Even when we were told that we would have to have IVF I was convinced every month I would be pg! So I think it is normal.

Our offer was rejected, even though the agent told them it was a good one. They are hoping for more, which we are not going to pay. So we will see what happens. It took them nearly a week to reject it. So I don't think they are sure, we'll see if they come back.

Hi All,

Ahhhh, HC, that explains all the messages on various threads saying "Hoping for a sticky bean for you", it's amazing what I've learnt in the last couple of weeks of being on this site!!

Well, in relation to the symptom spotting, I've resorted to making a note of all my symptoms by date so that at least if I get similar next month, I know what they're all about... Probably a bit mad but I guess it might help to stop hoping when I get the same symptoms month on month...

MJIM ahhhh, a wriggly poppet!! Bless!!

Hey Soosy, I must confess that so far both my SILs have been really nice. One lives a long way away so we only see them once a year and the other is quite a bit older with grown-up children, so they're lovely. They only live about 4 miles away but haven't seen them since we got married in April! My DH doesn't live in the pockets of his family like I do... . I usually can't go a day without calling my Mum . It's 'cos I love her!!!

xx

ceebee74 · 10/07/2008 20:47

Ladies - haven't got much time tonight as have party bags to make up and presents to wrap!

My scan is tomorrow at 11.15 so think positive thoughts for me then. Probably won't be able to get on MN until late afternoon or evening (HC, will probably miss you) but will let you know asap that everything is good - the baby has been v wriggly today This is the first day that the movements have been consistent - all the others have been once every 4 or 5 days or something, today, it hasn't stopped!!

Anyway, I have fingers crossed for all you ladies on the 2ww - I am sure we will get some BFP's this month .

Evening Ladies

HC - sorry to hear about your pil troubles. Shame they can't let you have some time with just dh & dc's. Would speaking to dh again about the August holiday help?

BSL - hang on in there - good news about the smear by the way.

I am now cd31 - CE planted a seed in my head last night about cheap pg tests on ebay so I've ordered some and will be very tempted to test tomorrow when they arrive, even though I'm just setting myself up for disappointment.

Hi to everyone else

HumphreysCorner · 10/07/2008 21:00

Oh soosy-sorry the offer was rejected but you shouldn't be forced into paying more.

ceebee-good luck for you scan-won't be leaving until about 5-30pm so if you can please post a message. Can't wait to hear what you are having.

Dawn-lol at making a note of symptoms. I wouldn't have enough paper to fit mine on!

detox and Mandy-good luck and happy testing.

ceebee74 · 10/07/2008 21:06

HC - will do my best to get on MN - have to wait to see a MW after my scan (last time I had to wait over an hour for that!) and then have got a meeting at another site at work early afternoon if I am finished at the hospital. Hopefully I should get back to my desk late afternoon but I can't promise.

Have a lovely time and make sure you take plenty of Blossom Hill with you .
