Flirty - I never ever had OV pains but my discharge was definitely noticeably different at OV time - am guessing that if you don't get either, OPK's or temping may be the way to go.

Hi BB,

I have no idea about EWCM, but all the BDing to make sure has to be a good thing. Number of DPO - It does seem a little odd, but I've seen lots of women on other threads get BFPs from BDing on CD7...so it might be right.

Hey Flirty, I'm sure I've seen?! you somewhere before... another thread maybe!! Still checking out the lumps under my arms!!

So, the preseed (as I discovered today) is a bit gruesome to be honest... It comes in little Pipet type things that you have to insert - yes insert!! Hmmm, definitely more on the scientific side.

Basically, they have in them, a sort of ingredient that matches them to the PH of your normal CM that you get around OV time so the sperm can't tell the difference between the two "liquids"?! So it almost encourages them as opposed to killing them like Saliva and other Lubricants...

Hope I've explained it Ok.... But due to the scientific nature, quite tempted to only use it on "rather dry" or "not really in the mood" days - that's every day then!!

Although a lot of the feedback (guessing only the best experiences though) suggest that people have had more success conceiving because of it. But I guess you would if you've not produced much yourself so there's nothing for the little critters to swim in?!

Waffling - yeah that's me - I should sooo change my name....

FlirtyThirty · 08/07/2008 22:46

Thanks Dawn...delightfully graphic preseed explanation! I can't even bear the sound of it, let alone the prospect of a pipette. I'm an Arts student not a Scientist...haven't used a pipette since my GCSEs - which a good deal of time ago!!!

I don't think I could get DH to go along with the pipette either..far too involved...though maybe I could use it before we hit the sack. Oh God...how hideously premeditated!? I think I'll have to think about that one for a bit longer. Good luck with it though.

I daren't give my actual name out...heard a horror story fo someone being recognised by 'real' friends on a forum like this and just couldn't bare it!

Flirty x

PS. Why are you still on here? I'm still working - really should avoid coming on here in the day so I don't end up sitting here all night too finishing stuff off!

DawnAS · 09/07/2008 08:30

Hello again Flirty,

Don't worry, Dawn's not my name either, it's my middle name.... . I'm thinking of changing it though to something more funky, not sure what though...

Back to preseed , you can actually use it up to 15 minutes before BDing, so actually DH wouldn't necessarily need to know until afterwards... Apparently the men can't tell the difference between that and what us girlies (occasionally) produce

It does say though that the stuff is very slippery so to clean up any spills - so I case if it drops on the bathroom floor and DH stands it and whacks his head on the side of the bath, you might have to come clean !!! Ha ha ha!!!

I apologise to any English Teachers or writers out there!! In my haste to finish my message I seem to have missed out words, letters, punctuation and all sorts. Sorry!!

FlirtyThirty · 09/07/2008 09:41

Dawn - I'm a writer (and an anal one if you talk to people who work with me!) but I too miss out words, misspell, forget grammar, letters etc etc. Absolutely no need to apologise! I like to think it's because my brain works faster than my fingers type...at least that's my story and I'm sticking to it!

I have a cousin with the middle name Dawn - is it you, I wonder?! How hilarious that would be.. (no actually, it can't be you - she already has children...) Maybe I'll study my name book over lunch and find some name options for you...or you could always go for somethign more crude: BritainsBestBonker, PreseedPrimadonna or my current fav AstiSpermanti...
(Flirty signs off to consider that she may have to get out more...)

OMG Flirty, PMSL - lurving - Astispermanti ha ha ha!!!

I was thinking more along the lines of NuttyTart (inkeeping with the cake themes I've seen of course....) or more simply just Nutter .

Hey MJIM, other than wet, how are you today? Unfortunately I did hear on the news yesterday, that we're expecting higher than average rainfall for the next two months!!

So that's pretty much the summer gone...

So, more symptom spotting. Anyone heard of Diahorrhea as an early symptom of pregnancy? (TMI sorry... ). I suffer with IBS but haven't had it properly for ages, but was quite bad yesterday and today and I haven't eaten anything different... Not feeling sick at all though... It coincided yesterday with low abdominal pains... they almost seemed to trigger it.

Oooh MJIM I don't know - a good pair of wellies and some waterproofs?! Nothing like splashing around in puddles - especially when Mummy's doing it too!! (Although I wouldn't jump about too much - ). Followed by hot chocolate and home-made cookies!!

Can you tell I read too much Danielle Steele??!!

Thank you for the info on your "movements", it's always good to hear what to expect even if my symptoms aren't quite in line yet.

Although, I've got these lumps under my arms that keep coming up and going down, first under one arm, then the other. They're quite painful but I don't think are glands and I've been waxing for four months and have never had this before. They only last a day and then change to the other arm. Thought it was a long-shot so posted the symptom on another thread yesterday, then Flirty looked it up and apparently that was the way that one lady's GP had discovered that she was pregnant. It seems rare but does happen....

But there you go, probably just a really classic case of symptom spotting. If I get AF and the lumps are still there, I'll go to the GP. They hurt so I'm not too worried about anything sinister and they come and go quickly.

I do waffle....

Dawn - loving the rose-coloured view of parenthood...I too have this yummy mummy/domestic goddess vision. Reality is goig to come us a mega wake-up call. My DH on the other hand seems to be quite daunted by the prospect of parenthood having spend very little time around babies and small children. He will probably relist the reality as I'm screaming: 'get those muddy wellies out of the house!' Time will tell...

Good plan to see GP on the lump front if AF shows up. Though I agree, they don't sound sinister. I get little cysts on my head (would have been drowned as a witch in the olden days, I suspect!) which annoy me even though hidden under my hair, but nothing to worry about. I've also had more painful ones on my wrist. My mum told me to bash them with a Bible (strange woman!?) and the Dr said they would just go away with time..which indeed they did. Sorry yours are sore though...

This diarrhea sounds promosing. Have herad before it can be PG related. Fingers-crossed though I will be very jealous if you get PG so fast...

F.x

FlirtyThirty · 09/07/2008 10:47

PS. Dawn - watch for the spoonerisms darlin' in the name selection...don't want anyone thinking you're a TartyNut...

sharkey1 · 09/07/2008 10:58

does anyone believe that eating certain foods will help predict the sex of your child?

chestercat · 09/07/2008 12:01

Hi All
Sorry havent been on, been busy at work at had a few family gatherings but at least it has taken my mind of the dreaded 2WW.
CD24 for me (holding hands with Mandy) no real symptons although the movement conversation did strike a bit of a cord but thought it was from the spicy food i have had.
Fingers crossed for everyone
Next week should be quite exciting for a few

Bellie · 09/07/2008 13:41

Hi all,
wow you are getting chatty!!

It is great that we all have this outlet to discuss things though isn't it - can you imagine having the conversations in rl??

BB - glad to hear that you are on here (just for stats purposes!!) - not sure about EWCM - I never seemed to get any so never planned anything around it - I used clue blue fertility monitor which was much more reliable!

MJim - I go the other way on the whole with my 'movements'! Mind you, you are eating lots and lots of fruit and veg - I am literally having to force it down me every day adn then I am still not up to the 5 a day Lucky you hearing the heartbeat this afternoon !

Am off out to buy teachers presents this afternoon - it is the leaving picnic tomorrow! Was hoping that the rain would ease off but no such luck....

Mandy73 · 09/07/2008 14:16

Afternoon all,

Hope you're keeping warm & snug in the rain. xx

PS: Still nothing pink or brown in Mandy's panties (sorry TMI ) but I'm not getting hopes up or anything.

I'm lying. Perhaps a tiny bit of hope.

DawnAS · 09/07/2008 14:43

Hey all,

Mandy, keeping (almost - ) everything crossed for you!!

MJIM have yet to experience the heartbeat thing - I can imagine it is pretty awesome when you first hear it...

Bellie - How's your bean today? You feeling Ok?

Mandy73 - Hmmm, just had to take the dog out (2 year old yellow lab called Tilly - she's my baby until a real one comes along). I don't know who was more put out about having to go out in the rain, her or me!!

Flirty, I'm not sure that being a TartyNut is too much of an issue, no doubt when I finally get PG I'll be glad of being called a Tart!! At least it'll still make me feel like a woman I guess... although I guess there's nothing MORE womanly than being PG - that's what we're here for after all...

Sharkey1, really have no idea on the food thing to be honest. Isn't it all to do with when you BD? . If you want a girl, aren't you supposed to aim for before the day of OV and if you want a boy, do it on the day of OV? (I say aim since I'm sure it's not an exact science....).

Hope everyone else is Ok this wet Wednesday afternoon!!

WelliesAndPyjamas · 09/07/2008 15:01

Hello everyone. Glad to see you are all well.

All going fine here. Hitting 6 wks tomorrow, which is half way to 12, and psychologically it feels good! A few twinges. Far less peeing. But had my first agonising hunger pang yesterday morning. Typically nothing obvious to grab and eat in the kitchen since we were overdue a shopping trip, so I ran outside in my dressing gown and starting munching cherries off the tree. What a sight! It worked though. Felt better straight away.

GTG again way too busy here at mo

Gooseberry crumble mmmmmmmmm good idea

HumphreysCorner · 09/07/2008 15:40

Will catch up later but things are bad, very bad in the HC household re caravans and PIL. Not looking good as DH not speaking to me at all and is planning on taking the girls in the caravan without me at the weekend.

However, I get those underarm lumps most months-go down as soon as AF has sodded off!
