Hi guys
Here is the lovely new thread. Maybe we might get some newbies as well?!?!?

OP posts:
DawnAS · 07/07/2008 08:41

Morning Ladies,

CB, HC and CE, came on line last night but was a bit worried about entering the foursome with Rafa... So I thought I'd wait to say "Hi" until this mroning.

Don't want tennis (I know, I've dropped in your estimations now... ), but hope you got the result ( ) that you wanted and that last night was "Productive" for you!!

DawnAS · 07/07/2008 08:41

Durrr - I meant "I don't watch tennis"...

HumphreysCorner · 07/07/2008 09:27

Lol!

Bellie-let us know how your scan goes this morning.

Well, my temp has dropped this morning which is so wrong for post OV so who knows. Was a dreadful night with very limited sleep due to DH's worst night of hayfever. BDing wasn't too brill as (TMI) I was so dry and couldn't even get my own fingers in. Felt like there was a blockage. Very strange and then I couldn't get to sleep because of that and thinking about Rafa and feeling sorry for Federer but when I did about 2am I was soon woken by DH coughing, spluttering and blowing his nose. Hoping my note of sleep deprived on FF might help my temps.

Mandy and detox-when are you testing? Anyone else due to test this week?

Hope all OK on this wet day.

Hey HC,

Well I'm not too hopeful this month since, due to my naivety, we'd been using KY Jelly, which I found out last night kills the sperm!! Luckily we'd only used it twice...

However, I did find on line, something called pre-seed, which is a natural lubricant which apparently "encourages" the sperm and does not damage it at all. There's actually a thread somewhere on this site about it. With people saying that they conceived the month of using it!!

So I've ordered some off of Ebay .

Fingers crossed it arrives quickly!!

HumphreysCorner · 07/07/2008 10:14

Dawn, I discovered that last month that KY is lethal to sperm along with saliver so might need to order pre-seed myself. Will be doing a bulk order of OV sticks, PG sticks and pre-seed.

Morning all,

Thanks Detoxdiva, I won't. How are you holding up? Roast good?

HC, yup, temper?s been mental ? tick. Sorry to hear about your not so great night. Love & good luck to you too. x

Majormoo Milo is a lovely, lovely name.

Bellie thinking about you. Any news?

CE yup shopping helps. What have you got then, except for a shiny new car? This is how ko-ko I am: Bought a yummy purple wintery dress ?that would look good with a bump?. Have decided it?s a lucky charm, not a jinx !

DawnAS yup, you get in tune alright, feeling (and imagining!) all sorts of things. BDing is good for keeping punds off too . Good luck to you!

Well ladies, I?m glad you all enjoyed the tennis players!

I?m not testing until/if I?m late. Sunday or so. OK. Perhaps Saturday; CD 28. Or what would you do? And how are my even stevens doing? Chestercat you still around?
Right now I?m bricking it, just waiting for the pink-to-brown CM I always get in the week before AF.
Have a good new week everyone. xx

Bellie · 07/07/2008 10:33

no news yet girls, scan at 2.30 this afternoon.

lol at the 2 sleeps ceebee - it's exactly how we count in this house too.

What a great game last night then - how many of you dreamt of him then??

Hope you are all ok and will be back on later!

DawnAS · 07/07/2008 10:58

Mandy73, you're so right!!

Already excited about the fact that I've been to the toilet 5 times since I got up at 8am this morning - not at all linking it to the 3 big mugs of tea that I've had .

Bellie, still keeping everything crossed for you!!

I guess there's a slight benefit to TTC then... The Weight-loss obviously, not the BDing - ha ha!!

xx

FlirtyThirty · 07/07/2008 11:08

Hello ladies...I'm VERY new! Can I join?

After a late night conversation with DH, we've decided to start TTC our first. I am elated...I've been waiting for this for a long time and have resisted pressuring my DH into it for months. Last night he raised the 'big baby issue' of his own accord and so we are now officially TTC! I still can't quite believe it...

I've started taking Folic Acid (had some squirrelled away for this moment!) and charting temperature...anything else I should be doing or not...?

Contemplated doing a bit more exercise - hopelessly sedentary in my daily life!

Bellie Thinking of you this afternoon.

Hello everyone, MJIM I cannot believe that you are almost in your last trimester. For me this year has been a busy one ttc, as we have had IVF and FET! We will see if I have money or energy for third attempt after we move.

HC, Sorry to hear Nadal didn't help last night!

Dawn where did you find the pre-seed, just in the vain attempt of trying the old fashioned way!

I can't keep up with you all, thinking positive thoughts for all those on 2WW.

DB sick yesterday, which he does even with a slight temperature, he is fine today, but doesn't want to go to nursery so I have to tell him I need to do jobs for him then he thinks its fine to play. I think he thinks he is missing out on stuff at home!

More rentals to see this week must go and ring the agents. Hope you all have a fab Monday!

Sx

DawnAS · 07/07/2008 11:18

Hey soosy,

I actually just did a google search on it and it came up with some info. There's even a thread on this site somewhere, that came up, that had good results with pre-seed.

I order mine of Ebay last night. £10.95 inc postage for 6 sachets, so expensive but worth it!! DH even suggested that as we only need to use a little bit - to make one sachet last - - ha ha!!

Don't know if that would work though, although as it's only lubricant, shouldn't cause any problems once it's opened ...

The old-fashioned way just gets a bit tiresome after a while ...

xx

HumphreysCorner · 07/07/2008 11:35

Hi and welcome FlirtyThirty. Well done on taking that big step to TTC-and now the fun starts. If I were you I would relax and take the BDing every other night method starting as soon as AF finishes. Good to take Folic Acid-lol at having some stashed away. I took it for about a year before TTC so that I was ready when DH gave the go ahead. We are very chatty on here and 'tis an excellent thread to be on!

Hi soosy-happy house hunting.

FlirtyThirty · 07/07/2008 11:43

Hi HC - thanks for the welcome! Everyone does indeed seem very friendly!!

Will take the BD frequency advice...DH will think his luck is truly in when this bonking bonanza kicks off!! I don't think he'd fully considered the benefits of suggesting we try and have a baby...

hi girls

bellie - any news? Am keeping everything crossed here for you xxxx

HC - sorry about your rubbish night. Sometimes it does feel like BDing is the last thing you feel like doing! Maybe a night off and a lone sleep might help?

Dawn - someone on this thread (I think it was Belgianbun) was allergic to preseed, so just a cautionary note! I'm sure it will be fine for you however! I considered trying it but DP said that it was "too scientific"! LOL It's not like I'm giving the sperm armbands!

soosy - nice to hear from you. Keep up the househunting!

Flirty - welcome welcome! I hope you are excited about ttc. I remember that feeling well. It's so nice to both be really ready and keen to go for it. This thread has seen many BFP's over the last 6 months! Good luck!

Mandy - good luck holding off til Sunday!

Today was a little bittersweet for me. It was the outward bound day at school that I had originally opted not to go on due to BFP but have ended up going now. I had a really good day but you know...

TMI but had a fantastic BD session last night . I cried afterward - is that weird? hmmm. Hope it worked!

FlirtyThirty · 07/07/2008 18:05

Hi ChocolateEclair - thanks for the welcome! I am so excited about TTC that I'm actually in a bit of a daze today. I have achieved bugger all at work today just thinking about it. Ridiculous as I've mountains to do and an important deadline looming! Still, I'm happy.
I am hoping that I regain some sense of normality soon or DP will abandom me as a lost emotional cause before we've even conceived this baby!

Sorry you've had a hard day...big hug and large glass of wine winging its way through cyberspace to you.... Hope we both join the BFP club soon!

juanitad · 07/07/2008 18:22

Hi all,

I hope everyone had a good weekend. I absolutely LOVED the tennis yesterday, I was dying for Nadal to win, I think it's the quality of his tennis that attracts me to him the most.................ha ha ha, not the arms, or the fit bod, or the lovely tan. I was convinced Federer was going to snatch victory from him, but was so glad with how it turned out. Great week for Spain, after winning the footie last week!

I am starting to feel very end of term now, only 9 more teaching days to go until freedom for the summer, I can't wait. We're not having a big holiday this summer unfortunately, but I have lots of plans for doing things round the house, I think the nesting instinct is (finally) kicking in!

What are everyone else's plans over the summer? Any holidays coming up? CE, did you go for Turkey in the end?

juanitad · 07/07/2008 18:26

whoops, meant to say hi to Flirty Thirty, this is the right place to be.....all the best advice comes from this thread, you'll soon see.

Mandy, if you can possibly hold out (v difficult, I know), try to wait until AF is a few days late before testing. I have fallen into the early testing/testing on due date before and it all ended in tears...........I ended up disappointed three times instead of just once: first when I got a BFN four days before I was due, then when I got a BFN one day after I was due and then when AF arrived three days after I was due. If I had waited a bit longer, I would have just had the one disappointment, maybe that would have been less depressing!! But I know that there are many different schools of thought on this thread, and it's all very well me giving advice, you've got to do what feels right for you.

Mandy73 · 07/07/2008 19:11

Hi Juanitad sometimes pottering at home is the best kind of holiday! I'm in complete agreement with you about early testing - nothing but a v expensive way to drive oneself (even more) insane in my opinion.

Welcome Flirty! And hi Soosy, Bailymist, HC, CE, Dawn and everyone else.
I'm worrying about Bellie, so hoping all is well. x

ceebee74 · 07/07/2008 19:29

Evening all

Bellie - where are you? I hope everything is ok and I am hoping no news is good news.

Flirty - welcome to this thread - you can honestly ask anything on this thread and one of us will know the answer (hopefully!) and as the title says, there is no such thing as TMI. Good luck with the TTC - you are just entering the fun part

Juanitad - I believe you about enjoying the tennis - ha ha!! You teachers are so lucky having such long holidays although I do know you make up for it during the term times etc - but it must be so nice, knowing you get 6 weeks off!

Been shopping today to get the rest of the stuff I need for DS's birthday this weekend and forgot the bloody 'pass the parcel' prizes so I have no idea when I am going to get a chance to buy those since I am back at work tomorrow....grrr!

So, tonight is the last night of my holidays and back to the grindstone tomorrow - have had a lovely break and got lots of rest and sleep - plus it always helps knowing I have only got another 3 and a bit months to go

x

bluestarlavender · 07/07/2008 19:33

Evening all! And hello Flirty Thirty...welcome!!

Tennis was good last night, although I did kinda want Federer to win...just because he was aiming for a place in the record books. Sorry girls!!

Oh my god, I was reading back and am totally shocked about saliva killing sperm!! I had no idea!!!

DH and I are still ill, in fact I was so ill I couldn't fly today, so have missed that business trip! I do feel a bit bad, as I've had to let my colleague go alone without me, but there was no way anyone would want me giving them whatever I have!

Bellie - hope the scan went well!!

DawnAS · 07/07/2008 19:36

Hello all,

Kept everything crossed for Bellie today, hope she comes on line soon...

Well Bluestar, since Saliva and KY are out of "Sperm fashion", ordered my pre-seed off of Ebay and I'm expecting it to arrive tomorrow.

Apparently some people can be allergic to it (eek ), so fingers crossed that I won't be!!

xx

detoxdiva · 07/07/2008 19:47

Evening Ladies!

Bellie - how did it go? Good news I hope.

Welcome to Flirty - hope you and dh enjoy ttc . It's so exciting when you finally make that decision isn't it?

Hi to Baileymist and Mandy (and anyone else on the 2ww!) Hang on in there. Due to erratic cycles (some 28 days, some 40) I am unsure when to test as unsure when I am due . My plan at the moment is just to wait and hope af doesn't arrive. It's cd 28 today. No idea how long that plan will last!!

bluestarlavender · 07/07/2008 20:06

Dawn - I'm sure you'll fine with pre-seed! Hope you and DH have fun playing. He sounds very keen on the TTC!!! hehe!

So after 3 days of no BDing, DH was very good today and despite feeling ill, we managed some...sorry if this is TMI! But I think I'm due around 25th July, so we have a few more days of BDing before I get to the 2WW - am I right???
