charliesmum, nandos, beakas, sugr, cornflower, poppy, becky and everyone else who miscarried in may/june 2008....

We have all been very brave together and supported eachother. For those of us that are ready, it may be time to support eachother again as we return to TTC. Lets hold hands, remember our loss and give a nod to the future as we endeavour to procreate and............

SHAG!!

As promised, a thread to stay in touch. Will also see you on the MC avengers thread.

Hi m2o poor you. You really have had a hard time of it. I really don't know the answer though as my body is almost as mixed up as yours. Since I stopped bleeding for the MC I've had one and a bit AFs and two days after the 'bit' of a period I had fairy snot and thought I was ovulating but the test stick thing I wee'd on came up negative so who knows what is going on with our bodies. I just don't know. It's so stressful, isn't it? It would be easy if things just returned straight to normal. It's hard seeing people pregnant or with babies. It just makes you feel so awfully sad, don't you find? I feel my stomach just sink with sadness. A definite grrrr moment.

I've just got back from the festival and I am a total wet dog! It is peeing it down out there.

sugr · 07/07/2008 10:32

Hello again, have been snooping on this thread but not been posting as have been trying to forget about TTC and having some fun before starting the IVF which was scheduled for next week.

Have now been knocked for six as have just got a BFP this morning! The stories about post miscarriage fertility must have some substance to them. Sorry if this seems like rubbing anyones noses in it as I know what everyone on here has gone through but we tried everything for six years before resorting to IVF so one bonk on holiday getting me pg at 39 is absolutely amazing!

I know that there is a long way to go but its a BFP!!!

nandos · 07/07/2008 11:31

Hi sugr,
Congratssss
its fantastic to know that you are pregnant now! and to find out a wk before your IVF too..
how r u feeling today n whats your symptoms before your bfp?

m2olivia..just put all your frustrations here cos' most of us are having the same things happening to us and we dont know the answers as well! i guess its normal for the cycle to be messed up but for how long is the question..
im in cd 20 today and cold as a frozen turkey...i dont know what the matter with me..maybe the flu bug is still in my system..

becky, other than the downpour..hows the festival? did u enjoy it with your dcs?

sugr · 07/07/2008 11:48

Nandos, was suspicious this morning as one nipple had doubled in size and I now have distinctly lopsided boobs so got a test on the way to work. Am actually suffering from a hangover today so feeling pretty flaky...

BeckyBendyLegs · 07/07/2008 12:54

Ooooh sugr that's lovely news! Congrats!

I had a great time at the festival but soooo tired today and it is still raining. Where is the summer? Off to get DS1 from preschool now. Byeeee.

nandos · 07/07/2008 13:46

becky, glad u enjoyed it..

msdynamo · 08/07/2008 07:53

Hello everyone, I am now officially ttc, from the USA! I just wanted a quick word. I read something yesterday here that really worried me, about the safety of ultrasound scans on babies. It suggests they should not be done before 20 weeks.

Did any of you who mc'd, have an early ultrasound scan? I know I did at 6 weeks, and the baby died at 7.

Just want to do a quick survey amongst you all for future refs. You know how ahead of us the US can be when it comes to health issues.

msdynamo · 08/07/2008 07:54

Also congratulations sugr, thats a wonderful outcome, you deserve it after all your efforts!

BeckyBendyLegs · 08/07/2008 08:17

Hi msdynamo!

I didn't have a scan until after I'd started bleeding and the scan just confirmed the MC.

DH and I have been doing the deed a lot this month in our efforts to get me up the duff. I'm exhausted! But now he has to revise for an exam he is taking on Thursday (he's going to be away Thurs-Friday) and then after that we've got to start packing the house up for the move. Not sure if now is a good month to be preggers or not!! People keep saying to me 'I guess you'll be waiting until you've moved house to try again' and I just go 'hmmm, yes that would be the sensible thing to do'.

sugr · 08/07/2008 08:59

Beckybendlegs, if it is the worst possible time to get preggers then it is sods law that it will work so I would recommend going for it!

M2O, I feel for you as the endless waiting to get back to normal is one of the worst things. I got my AF after six weeks and (possible TMIF) luckily decided to wear pads rather than tampax as wasn't sure how heavy it would be. I knew I had some retained products that they said would come out but I was sitting in one of the most important meetings I had ever been in and felt a gush and out it came! Walked out of the meeting at the back of the queue just to be safe but luckily my suit was unscathed .

BeckyBendyLegs · 09/07/2008 16:11

Ahhhhh it is raining and it has been raining all day. We went on a preschool trip this morning and it was so wet: imagine 30 very wet under fives, lots of puddles, and lots of rain.

nandos · 09/07/2008 16:46

msdynamo, its nice to see you here
re scan, i had lightspotting before the scan and it showed a 6wk embryo rather than an 11wk so its not due to the early scan causing me to mc..
anywayz.. i've been sleeping a lot today..feel so tired and sleepy.
am counting my days to AF which is on the 18 of this month...9 days later..god my cycle is so longg..

sugr · 09/07/2008 17:05

...and it is still raining! What has happened to our summer this year. Wimbledon is over so usualy the rain stops by now

BeckyBendyLegs · 09/07/2008 19:10

....still raining here too. And it is supposed to rain tomorrow and Friday.

mummy2olivia · 09/07/2008 20:30

WOOHOO!!! another BFP!!! congrats sugr! Am so happy for you. Please stay around so we can take care of you

What is the EDD of our new beans?

My crimson wave has come ashore!! WOOHOO!!! Feel very PMT and am having a very painful and crampy 1st period but am glad its here and can now get back to normal.

love to all xxx

Great news M2O hopefully your body is getting back to normal and is ready for action. Due date is 16th March.

BeckyBendyLegs · 10/07/2008 07:59

Well I don't think I am in the club yet despite a fair amount of love action around ovulation time. My second AF is due in 10 days or so and I don't feel even remotely preggers, although it is very early days. Coffee still tastes lovely.

The good news is...IT ISN'T RAINING TODAY!!!!

HtheH · 10/07/2008 16:22

AF is here, exactly 5 and half weeks after ERPC. Although I would rather be pregnant still, I am feeling happy that my body is back to normal. It really feels lie it is time to move on now. My diet thing is not that great, but I think I am through the bad first week detoxing, and went back to the doctor today and have lost 8.5 pounds in a week!!! Would love some chocolate though! only a few more weeks to go and then can start ttc again. Let's hope we all have happy news soon. Anyone been to Lesley Reagan or know about her? She is a friend of a friend of my mother's. Apparently she is brilliant. My mother is offering to pay for me to see her privately, she feels this is her only chance for a grandchild and will do anything for it. I am thinking that my dh and I shouldn't let pride get in the way of conceiving sooner. Is she worth it? Advice anyone?

sugr · 11/07/2008 08:49

Well the hope was brief, sorry to start the weekend with a downer but had a slight bleed last night which I was desperately willing to be implantation bleed but two negative tests this morning tell otherwise.

Oh well, back to TTC

nandos · 11/07/2008 12:58

sugr..
am so sorry abt the early mc..
i know its very upsetting but hopefully everything will be ok and that you will be pregnant v.soon..
do chat with us whenever you feel like it be it happy or sad..we r here for you..

xx hugs xx

BeckyBendyLegs · 11/07/2008 20:16

Oh sugr - poor you. TTCing is such a stressful business. A few of my friends here have just had / just about to pop their babies and I just want to cry and say 'not fair! not fair!' to them.

monkeybumsmum · 11/07/2008 20:32

Hi everyone, got back from hols this afternoon and now have sooo much unpacking to do!

Sugr, I couldn't believe it about the bleeding, I am so, so sorry. I just don't know what to say as I'm sure you must feel devastated all over again. It's so sad. As nandos said we are here anytime for you, so please take advantage of some shoulders to cry on if you need to...

m2o, finally!!!!! Am so pleased that AF has turned up - how are you feeling about things now?

msdynamo, I did have an early scan when I mc'd, but I was pretty sure things were going wrong before I had the scan as I had no symptoms. With DS I was sick as a dog. It's good to see you back by the way, and lots of luck ttc! Whereabouts in the States are you?

nandos, are you feeling a little more energetic now? Hope you're okay...

Becky, preschool trip sounds fun . I know exactly what it's like! I have my fingers crossed for you that you got lucky this month. It is still v early, so who knows!

HtheH, great re AF, and WOW re losing 8.5 lbs in a week!!! That's fantastic! How are you feeling in yourself, other than craving chocolate? I've heard of Lesley Reagan, but don't really know anythig about her. Think it might've been m2o who mentioned her? If your mum's willing to pay then why not. You don't have anything to lose by seeing her do you?

We had quite a good holiday, but it was ruined a bit for me by worrying so much about this pg. I had more bleeding last Sunday, and was convinced that was it, but it stopped thank goodness. Am feeling tired and a bit sicky, so am hoping things will work this time. I have been thinking a lot though about how tough it must be for you to read about me being pregnant, and I feel awful about it. I don't want to make anyone more sad than they already are.

Am v glad to be home

mummy2olivia · 11/07/2008 21:03

Lesley Reagan is a bit of a god in my book.

Her miscarriage book is fabulous. Ask me anything- I've read the book on everything I read far too much.

MBM, welcome back
how r u doing?
eeks i hate the unpacking bit lol so much laundry to wash..
i am feeling much much better thx for asking ..
MBM, i dont know who u r referring to, but i am very happy for you being pregnant am not sad at all and would love it if you share your symptoms/pregnancy with us
just came back from shopping and had 2 glasses of choco ice-cream and i still want more! also feeling a lil bloated these few days though my AF is not due till a wk later..dont know whats going on..
got to go n sleep now..gd nite all

monkeybumsmum · 12/07/2008 09:11

Thanks nandos! Yeah, unpacking is horrible! Am off to visit my parents next week, so I need to get everything clean and ready for then. Normally our suitcases tend to sit there for a while

Re my comment, it wasn't to anyone in particular. I just don't want to come on here and be insensitive, that's all. Maybe I didn't word it right...

Am feeling okay, but am willing ms to start with all its might (I may live to regret those words!). I went on a site to check what was going on right now with my little bean, and although it made me a little excited, it also made me really sad for the last one that didn't make it. This pregnancy so far is so different to when I was expecting ds. In my naivety I never even thought with him that anything could go wrong. I am now officially a knicker-checker (at least every half hour) and an obsessive temperature checker. Am somehow convinced that as long as my temp is still up then things are going okay. Aaarrgh! Need to get a grip!

How's everyone else today?
