charliesmum, nandos, beakas, sugr, cornflower, poppy, becky and everyone else who miscarried in may/june 2008....

We have all been very brave together and supported eachother. For those of us that are ready, it may be time to support eachother again as we return to TTC. Lets hold hands, remember our loss and give a nod to the future as we endeavour to procreate and............

SHAG!!

Hello, hello girls I am drooling at all the food diaries

Think mine involves quite a lot of chocolate at the moment with the odd biccy and handful of pringles flung in for good measure not exactly Zita West fertility friendly but I have decided to have a f**k it month where I allow myself a few glasses of wine, some coffee and some unhealthy foods and absolutely no peeing on OPK sticks. After months of being good(ish) and it not doing any good I was needing a break. Will be back on the good and healthy bandwagon next month

M2O I am impressed with your willpower and hope it works well. The accupuncture sounds fab. I had one session last yr but didn't really like the lady but would be keen to try again with someone else if I thought it would help us. Hope the time flies by till dh comes home again. It is lovely when the flush of romance is still high.

Becky very impressed with the pedometer but I know I would use it as a measure to increase my snacks

MBM hope you have got the heating sorted now it is far too cold to be sitting freezing! My friend just got hers sorted yesterday after 2.5 wks of freezing her arse off during the hols because they couldn't get a part to sort her boiler due to the hols Would send dh round if we were not i uk as he is a brickie and could get your wall sorted up for you!! What a time you have had.

Ds went back to school yesterday and was very very tired in the morning (so was I) and had to be woken up but was quite excited when he saw the smattering of snow on the ground! He asked me if the the baby was coming and I said what baby? "The one you put all the stuff on the counter for at xmas" said ds!! Had to explain that it doesn't quite work like that! Oh dear it is a shame as he is desparate to be a big brother.

Better go now as the bathroom is calling me to give it a good clean - yahoo my fave job

PS nandos hope you are feeling ok.

xx

mummy2olivia · 06/01/2009 20:40

Hello girlies!!!

poppy I think acupuncture does very much depend on the therapist- my last one Floraine was totally lovely but I just didnt feel like I could go back after the MC- it would just upset me too much. Fingers crossed that my new one is just as nice. If you are interested in it and would want to give it a go again, just post a thread on here asking for recommendations. It is really excellent, I love it and would highly recommend giving it a try.

becky Your story of you and your DH meeting is hilarious- poor bloke didnt stand a chance by the sounds of things!! So sweet though- he must really love you to wait for you like that.

MBM hope you are ok and bit more chilled after yesterday! And glad you believe in soulmates too cos after I posted that I felt a bit soppy.

Nandos are you ok chick??

Food diary for today-

1 actimel yoghurt
bowl of ready brek
punnet of blueberries
jacket potato and tuna
plum
1 kit kat (had a headache and the shakes- needed chocolate)
tomato pasta and organic sausages
Tapioca pudding made with skimmed milk
3 detox teas
1 litre of water

Bit better than yesterday but how do you possibly fit in 10 portions of fruit and veg???!!!!! Am gonna forget that bit- its totally unacheivable. Am pleased with that so far- reckon the acupuncture lady will be pleased.

Had an e-mail from S earlier- he sounds so sad, hes not eating very well because his body clock is all askew and he has been in loads of meetings. I just want to mother him when he is like that- he is so pathetic. 11 days till he is back. You are all gonna be bored sick of my pinings by next week- he he!!!

Got the bus to work this morning for the 1st time in about 2 years- was going really well, was wrapped up warm with my i-pod on and felt really grown up taking care of myself Then Igot on the wrong fucking bus, had a grand tour of bloody Coventry and ended up being 45 minutes late for work. I am completely helpless and need a full time carer.

love to all xxxx

My food diary today:
Cold coffee left by bed by DH and two pieces of dark chocolate
One weetabix eaten on the run
One apple
One latte in a cafe
Two pittas with pickled cabbage, cheese, coleslaw and chicken inside.
Two quality street.
One packet of baked mango walkers crisps.
One cup of tea.
One quality street.
A bit of pasta with the DSs (pasta, onions, mushrooms, pesto, cream fresh and chicken).
One more quality street.
Beef teriyaki stirfry with beef, noodles, bean sproats, onions and mushrooms.
One fruit salad chew.
Cup of tea and more dark chocolate.

I do like my chocolate! m2o your food diary was very impressive Poor you getting sent to Coventry and not being able to get out!!! I am just like that when my DH goes away. I dread the electricity tripping or something awful like that as I am clueless!

Hope you are not too cold today mbm. Poppy I hope you enjoyed cleaning your bathroom. Who is Zita West by the way? I'm sure she won't begrudge you the odd pringle!!!

According to my pedometer I burnt 560 cals and walked 8 miles. That seems rather a lot to me.

mummy2olivia · 07/01/2009 19:27

Zita West is a fertility guru- prayed to by unfertile panda bears like me

Becky- I need to share this with you because I have a feeling and I hope to god its right I think this is your month. I dont know why, just feel it. I hope it is, I have dreamt about it and I do sometimes predict things in my dreams. Everybody, keep your fingers crossed that I'm right. I dont want to get your hopes up Becky (although I do think you are a bit more mature and sensible than to take the word of some crackpot as the gospel!) but I do have a feeling in my waters, and it aint cystitis!!

DISCLAIMER: If Becky isnt pregnant, it isnt my fault.

OP posts:
BeckyBendyLegs · 07/01/2009 19:32

Oooooh m2o that is lovely. I am realistic though. I am a strong believer in feelings and instinct but I know that it isn't always right or it is sometimes saying something else. I'm also a strong believer in dreams. So we'll see. Maybe you are right, maybe not! My AF is due in about 10 days time so I'll keep you updated!

I won't sue you if I'm not pregnant!!!!

monkeybumsmum · 07/01/2009 19:42

Oh M2O I so hope you're right! I have my fingers crossed, and my toes too!

Yay, if you are right can you give the rest of us predictions too please

I was inCREDibly impressed with your food diary yesterday! You put me to shame . I daren't even write down what I ate yesterday, or today for that matter

Am off to get ready for work now, am back in tomorrow... It's warmed up lots here - is now only -2 apparently. Yesterday it was -17 . I could NOT believe it!

Becky Is your pedometer good? Would you recommend using one? Think the idea is not only brill, but very interesting, Do you walk more than you thought you walked each day? I'd love to know how far I walked - than I'd be able to tell dh to bugger off next time he nags me to go to the gym

Poppy How v handy to have a hubby who's a brickie - do you think our insurance company would pay for his travel here It's so difficult to find people over here to get stuff done, esp with the language. How on earth do you explain to someone over the phone in French that your wall has been run over by a tanker? I have to rely on dh, and tbh his organisational skills are not up to much. I bet you that this time next year we'll still have a pile of rubble down the bottom of the drive...

Nandos Really hope you're okay?

Right, I'm off to fill up my bag with handy snacks for tomorrow. DH has gobbled all the bananas so I s'pose I'll have to make do with more chocolate, hooray!

mummy2olivia · 07/01/2009 20:38

Food Diary for today:

1 actimel yoghurt
1 pink grapefruit
Sausage pasta in tomato and basil sauce
plum
apple
5 lychees
1 kit kat
baked cod, mashed potato and peas
tapioca made with coconut milk
2 detox teas
2 litres of water

yay!!!!

OP posts:
BeckyBendyLegs · 07/01/2009 21:41

I do think the pedometer is a good idea and this one only cost £1.99. I'm starting to obsess though! I check it all the time! Apparently I've walked 6 miles today (school and back twice and Asda and back and around the house). Seems a lot to me.

m2o what a wonderful food diary! Well done!!!! Wot no cheese? I couldn't live without cheese.

Right off to watch Big Brother now. Yes I am sad I know but I like BB!

nandos · 07/01/2009 22:53

Oh Nandos poor you. I really feel for you. I really hope it gets better soon...

BeckyBendyLegs · 09/01/2009 14:06

Hello guys. Please send me lots of sympathy!!! I had a filling at 12.15pm today and I can't feel my mouth and I can't eat until 2.15pm and I am STARVING HUNGRY!!! I should have realised the dentist would not let me eat and eaten before I went. Stupid!

nandos · 09/01/2009 15:24

aww becky
poor thing..can you eat now? has the sensations come back?
hope you are alright..

BeckyBendyLegs · 09/01/2009 17:25

I'm fine! The numbness has gone now. I've just eaten a crumpet so I think I am ok although I told DH no pizza for tea tonight!

monkeybumsmum · 10/01/2009 10:46

Morning!

Ooohh Becky Poor you, fillings are horrible! It's v disconcerting not being able to move your mouth properly isn't it!

M2O Think you are doing brilliantly with your detox, you must be v proud . Not long to go now hey..............

Nandos That's great that you're managing to eat! Horrible that you're being so sick though... How many weeks are you now? I think you should give us an update at the beginning of the week with how many weeks you are, coz I can never work it out! Did you tell us when your next scan is?

Poppy Hope you are enjoying your f**k it month, that's a great idea! I'd sort of started doing that when ds was conceived, so hope it works for you too...

We are in the UK at the mo!!!!!
Am very happy to be here, but ds has come down with a sick bug and threw up twice in the night poor little thing . Is very bad timing! He's been sick again this morning, so it looks like we'll have to cancel my mums b'day meal out this evening, which is a shame, but it can't be helped.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend! xxx

BeckyBendyLegs · 10/01/2009 11:08

Hello all!

m2o how are things home without your DH? How many days to go before he is back with you? I know how hard it is, esp at weekends so here's a big hug from me

Ooooh mbm you're on the same time zone! Hello! Poor your DS though. There's a lot of it about at the moment. My DS2 threw up on New Years Eve and last week DH complained he felt sick every day (I had hoped it was a sympathy pregnancy but well...). I hope your DS feels better soon.

Nandos you must be coming up to 12 weeks soon? I do feel for you feeling and being so sick. That little bean of yours is putting you through a lot at the moment. I wish I could take a day of sickness for you. I would if I could so you could have a day off.

We're not up to much today. I'm cleaning the house... BORING and the DSs are watching CBeebies at the moment. It's tooooo cold here to do much. Iceskating perhaps?

nandos · 10/01/2009 12:47

welcome to UK MBM!
poor DS re being sick n throwing up hope he get well soon..i feel so sad especially when small kids get sick..
ooh and happy mummy's birthday
btw i forgot whether i told all of you or not but my scan is on the 13 jan which is this tues.

i got to get my bum up from the sofa and do some work!

c u laterz..

BeckyBendyLegs · 10/01/2009 13:34

Oooooh GOOD LUCK FOR TUESDAY!!!! I'll be thinking of you.

I couldn't face cleaning when I was first preggers. Get your man to do it for you!!!! I think you can legitimately play the pregnancy card.

poppy27 · 10/01/2009 14:04

Good luck for tues nandos it will be so exciting to see your little bean on the screen Don't worry about cleaning you have every right to relax on the sofa when you feel so grotty - the dust will wait for you

MBM poor you being back in uk and having a poorly ds. Their timing is always impeccable. Happy birthday to your mum and hope ds feels better soon.

Becky it's freezing, windy and wet here and I am trying to muster up the oomph to take ds to barbers for a haircut but somehow can't seem to face going out in it. British weather - what a joy

I have been enjoying my month off although I do seem to be feeling the start of pmt symptoms which is always disappointing but at least I can console myself with thinking I didn't try my best Start again next month

mummy2olivia · 12/01/2009 22:22

Hi guys- hope you are all well.

I've just come on to say that I am gonna have a little break from MN and from TTC in general (as in trying not to think about trying to conceive). Me and DH had a chat last night (a 7 hour long chat via MSN!) and we discussed a lot of things and we decided that we will take a mental break from TTC and try not to think about it too much. Dhs exact words were 'I want sex with my wife when I feel like it and not when I want to get her pregnant and I want to do it in any position I feel like instead of missionary'- fair enough I said (well, wouldnt you???!!!) I must admit that since we discussed it I do feel like a bit of a weight has been lifted and we have a little plan and timescale that we have agreed as to when we will go and seek help. Until then I want to chill and relax and enjoy some time with my husband.

I'll lurk a bit and u'll see me on facebook so am not gone forever (far from it!)- just need to get away from the obsessiveness of MN and try to chill.

Speak soon- will message you on facebook (poppy and nandos- JOIN!!)

OP posts:
nandos · 12/01/2009 23:54

M2O, we will definitely miss you
do update us anything new (especially me n poppy) cos' we dont have facebook at the moment
i know theres a need for you to just relax and not to think too much abt ttc cos' it can be too stressful at times..
your dh is right sometimes i feel like its work rather than leisure in bed. we r not bunnies who just bonk to have babies iykwim.. didnt mean in a bad way though.
its like b4 pregnant i demand it at times and when pregnant, i feel like i am not giving him his right when he wants to (cos' am sick)and its just unfair to him
feel like this craziness is neverending..
well i hope u get the break you wanted and hopefully we get to see u here again whenever you are ready M2O
hope the rest of you are ok..
poppy, u r right, dust is waiting for me and will have to wait longer

BeckyBendyLegs · 13/01/2009 09:20

m2o I have to put a face on that you are taking a break from MN but a face on that you are having a break from all the stress that TTCing brings. I was thinking of doing the same thing if this month isn't working out. It's nearly a year since I got pregnant and I am feeling so fed up of the monthly cycles and stress (and to be honest the teetotal no caffeine no nothing remotely bad unexciting life from ovulation until AF arrives). I hope you'll take an occasional peak over here as this thread is not just for TTCing but just for any old random stuff!

Nandos don't worry about not bonking now you are pg. I can remember that the thought of it made my skin crawl when I was first pg. Some people get a surge of wanting to do it during the second trimester. I'd say I did at about week 15 onwards.

Good luck today Nandos!! Thinking of you.

nandos · 13/01/2009 16:43

hi everyone!

I just got hold of a computer at dh's office and we got to see baby on the screen they could see the nasal bone during the test for the DS and the test for the NT looks low risk so am happy that everything seems fine
baby also dated slightly bigger than i expected so due date is changed to 30/7 and today is 11+5. i dont know how it grew so big and im getting thinner by the day..
the funniest thing was i expected baby to be swallowing fluid rather than sticking his tongue out a few times so it kinda made me laugh i told dh that his baby is naughty like him..
anywayz i got to go home soon cos' friends coming over in the evening and need to do last minute clearing little mess here n there..
hope all of you are ok..will try to catch up again soon.

take care all

BeckyBendyLegs · 13/01/2009 16:52

Hi Nandos that is soooo lovely. I'm so pleased for you. It is really lovely when you get to see the little one on the screen for the first time. I'm all happy now

monkeybumsmum · 13/01/2009 18:33

Oh Nandos that is fantastic news! What a relief that all is continuing to go well . Bet you are thrilled to bits!

Got to be quick as not feeling well (have been asleep all day after catching ds' bug ) but also wanted to say to M2O that you are having a break, but I completely understand... Same as Becky, I'd considered doing it too, but don't have the willpower to overide my MN addcition You will be missed on here for sure, but don't think you can get away from me that easily. I shall become your new FB stalker

Hope you are both okay too Becky and Poppy??

I have got (hopefully) my last blood test tomorrow for my follow-up, and then my gynae appt next week to see if we've got the all clear to ttc again. Am so excited I could burst . Bit silly really not to be more realistic about it...

Love to all, back to the sofa for me xxx

BeckyBendyLegs · 13/01/2009 18:37

Poor you MBM with a tummy bug. I hope you're not feeling too sick, esp if you have to go to have a blood test tomorrow. Take big care of yourself

I'm fine. The DSs both have a cough but besides that we're all fine and dandy here which is unusual for January! Waiting for the latest AF to arrive (due Monday).
