charliesmum, nandos, beakas, sugr, cornflower, poppy, becky and everyone else who miscarried in may/june 2008....

We have all been very brave together and supported eachother. For those of us that are ready, it may be time to support eachother again as we return to TTC. Lets hold hands, remember our loss and give a nod to the future as we endeavour to procreate and............

SHAG!!

As promised, a thread to stay in touch. Will also see you on the MC avengers thread.

PS Have you told DH yet? What did he say??

monkeybumsmum · 21/11/2008 16:23

X posts... Yes, I think that's a positive . Try not to worry about anything - just take care of yourself. Don't think about the sperm results - after all, 3% of them are healthy, and the results can also change depending on health of DH, so maybe the count's gone up? The way I see it is that one little swimmer must've been strong enough to get in, so let's hope that means it's a healthy one.

I know it's easier said than done, but do try your hardest not to worry. Whether you worry or not the outcome's going to be the same, so just try to relax. (I know this is impossible but I have to say it anyway!)

Oooohhh I just want to give you a big ((((((((hug)))))))) x

nandos · 21/11/2008 16:32

thx for the reassurance MBM..whatever is meant to be will be.
I told DH while hes at work and he was shocked and i said a little humour to him saying its like the 'clever-dumb balance' but in our case is the 'unlucky-lucky balance' cos' 2 times we get the poor results from the GP, a day or 2 later i tested positive ..how coincidence is that??
and this month i havent been eating properly, skipping meals, eating junk food, not taking prenatal tablets and seems to do everything wrong cos' i feel like giving up really..
i'll try not to worry when im there but hopefully when im back, it'll still be alright..

poppy27 · 21/11/2008 23:13

OMG nandos I just logged on for a quick peek before going to bed as I have been busy/out most of of the day and I am sooo glad I did . Congratulations, I can't begin to tell you how pleased and happy I am for you both . As MBM says it only needs one little swimmer to make it.

Just try and relax enjoy your trip and start those folic acid tablets again . Will be thinking of you ((((hug))))

poppy27 · 21/11/2008 23:21

Got my results back from recurrent mc clinic yest. Apparantly I have tested positive twice now for lupus anticoalulant test and have also had a positive anticardiolipin screen so they think it likely that I have antiphospholipid syndrome and are suggesting asprin/heparin inj should I get pg again. BUT they want me to go back for yet another set of tests so they can check my results 3 months apart as well as 2 but when I phoned up for appt. the secretary was on annual leave and this other lady could only give me an appt for March . Have now to phone back in Dec to try and get seen faster as the dr wants the tests done asap

Oh deep joy why are things never easy?

nandos · 22/11/2008 00:06

hey poppy..
i dont know what that test u took is but i hope that the tablets will make u pregnant very soon and that the appt is changed to an earlier date..
my suppposed next appt is in june next yr although for now i dont need to rebook for an earlier date ..who knows what might happen..
will be back soon next wk..will miss u all
goodnite

BeckyBendyLegs · 22/11/2008 11:26

Huh? How much excitement can I miss in a day? Wow Nandos that's fantastic news

Have a fun time in the US!

A friend of mine who had an MC in July told me yesterday she was preggers too. It's in the water.

monkeybumsmum · 23/11/2008 19:49

Hello! Hope you've all had a good weekend, and that all of you are okay...

Nandos how are you doing? Hope you're taking things easy? I happened to poke my head round the door of the newest antenatal thread earlier - was so thrilled to see you on it, and to be honest felt very proud and a little emotional!!

Poppy That's positive that you have a result, and that it looks like they can do something about it for next time. Apparently the statistics are very good for having that condition/treatment and having a healthy and successful pregnancy. That's ridiculous that they can't get you an appt before March though - are you going to call up when the other secretary gets back and demand one sooner? Plus, that wouldn't then be another month apart would it, it's much longer...

Becky That's good news about your friend, hope all goes okay. How many weeks is she? You made me laugh with your response to Nandos news - can just imagine you sitting there with your jaw hanging in complete shock!

M2O You seem to have done a disappearing act on us again Where are you??? Hope you're okay!

Despite having thought I would not enjoy Christmas this year I seem to have got swept away with festive feelings already and have even made a Christmas cake for the first time... Think maybe am trying to throw myself into it so I don't have time to think about a certain date that's coming up .

Pizza's ready so must fly! Lots of love x

mummy2olivia · 23/11/2008 20:40

I haven't disappeared!! Have just been busy doing some crimbo shopping- also to take my mind off a certain date

Bought something gorgeous today. see below....

www.collectable-figures.co.uk/showdetails.asp?id=592

Me and DH decided that to commemerate the due date coming up, we would buy this and only we (and you lot!) know the significance. It has pride of place next to a wedding photo of me and DH. Just to remember a real angel

nandos CONGRATS!!!!! I have everything crossed for you twice over!!! Please do not worry about the sperm morphology and MC rates- lesley reagan says that there is no link between the two- if a sperm is 'bad' it wont make it to the egg let alone get inside it!! Please dont worry- enjoy every minute.

poppy- glad you have some answers and hope they can bring appt forward. March is madness!!

MBM- hope you are ok much love

becky- are you at the crucial time yet? trying anything new?

Also- special day- no more pill!!!!! Have got to use love gloves this month however due to Lap being in 2nd half of cycle. boo.

monkeybumsmum · 23/11/2008 21:43

Ah M2O you've just brought tears to my eyes. That is just beautiful, and something that you can always treasure. What a lovely way to remember your lost angel.
Congrats re pill, and lol at 'love gloves'! We have to use them too - was so tempted not to today, but am ov'ing at the moment, and thought knowing my luck we would get pg, just when I'm not allowed to... I hate them! (Not as much as DH does though!)

Have just been watching I'm a Celeb - is anyone watching it? Haven't seen all of it as is on too late here sometimes, but have just caught bits here and there. Timmy Mallett is sooooo annoying!

Anyway, am off to bed now - up early as there is loads of snow here so have to leave early to get to work on time - boo hiss!

Night night x

nandos · 23/11/2008 22:03

hi girls.. i have reached chicago n its freaking cold outside
got internet access hee in the hotel so its good.
M2O, thats a very sweet thing to remembr and treasure..our mcs are all coming up near the corner n its something that we cant forget also thanks for making me less worried as i didnt know abt the bad sperm thingy..

MBM, dont be too emotional cos' i am also v. emotional i always keep thinking of friends who cant get pregnant easily(incl MN)and i feel sad too i have a friend of have been trying for 6yrs since they got married 6yrs ago n got a mc 2yrs back n still havnt got preg till now..
i myself have ben trying for 3 yrs n i know i should be happy now but am a bit skeptic if i can carry for 9mths {blush]

poppy, just read my earlier post n i sound so silly. hope your condition dosnt stop u from having babies in the future. i do hop u and the rest MN have a BFP soon.

poppy27 · 23/11/2008 22:54

Hey nandos glad you made it to chicago alright and glad our preg fairy could reassure you. Have been so excited for you .

M2O that is a lovely way to remember your lost angel and also give you hope for the future. PMSL at love gloves - I must live a sheltered life as that's the first time I have heard that expression good that you will be rid of them soon though - they are vile!!!

MBM I have been trying to watch I'm a celeb as well but get part of the way through and doze off I'm always waking up to find the trial is over and I have no idea who did it .

We had quite a nice weekend as yest there was a visit to the town by santa in a reindeer pulled sleigh and there were also a team of husky dogs you could pet (ds was in his element)and the grand switching on of the xmas lights. He also got his photo taken with a baby owl called oscar. Great fun

BeckyBendyLegs · 24/11/2008 11:35

Hello all. I'm just hopefully coming up to ovulation at the end of this week. DH has made me keep a spreadsheet to see how regular I am! He's such a IT geek.

Nandos can't believe you're in Chicago. Makes me think of ER.

My friend is 9 weeks and totally happy. She paid for an early scan and all is ok so far. I am very happy for her because she'd been trying for number two for a year, then had an MC, and got pregs straight away after that so deserves some baby good news. I confess though I did cry that evening and tried to explain to DH that I was so happy for her but also so sad about not being pg myself.

I had another friend visit this weekend with her 15 month old daughter. We went to town on Saturday: so two adults and three children, two in pushchairs, and it was chaos!

I haven't watched Celeb Get Me Out this year but remember Timmy Mallet from when he was children's TV (he was annoying then). Mallet's Mallet and all that. My friend who came on Saturday made me watch X factor, then Xtra factor, then the X factor results, then Xtra factor results Xtra Xtra evenmore Factor on Saturday night. I was numb by the end of the evening.

poppy27 · 25/11/2008 22:06

Am absolutely ill. Don't know if you remember me saying a while ago that our neighbour's baby was in hosp with heart problems and the whole family have been staying there so they can all be together - well last night we were told she had passed away and the funeral is thursday. Have been feeling wretched since. She was only about 4 months old and looked so perfect and beautiful when she was born. They are a lovely family and this is just such a tragedy. Have got a card and will pop in to see them tomorrow but it is just so difficult to know what to say. Life is so cruel.

nandos · 26/11/2008 04:11

Poppy sorry to hear that..its so sad
i dont know what to say..its heartbreaking really my condolences to her family..

BeckyBendyLegs · 26/11/2008 09:00

Oh Poppy I do remember you telling us about them. That is so terribly sad. I can't begin to imagine how awful that must be to go through. My thoughts are with your neighbours and you too xxx.

monkeybumsmum · 26/11/2008 09:37

Poppy I'm so so sorry about your neighbours baby. How absolutely devastating for them. Those poor people... You are lovely to have got them a card, and I'm sure they will be touched if you go round to see them. It's so easy to shy away from seeing people who are going through such a horrific ordeal as this. I will be thinking of them, and am sending you a big .

mummy2olivia · 26/11/2008 19:57

A friend of mine had IVF recently and got pregnant (well, his wife did) and had a little boy. Heard last week that he had passed away Its so sad. Poppy, you sound like a really good friend, as MBM said, don't shy away. xxx

poppy27 · 26/11/2008 23:51

Went to see my neighbours tonight and to be honest it probably took me that long to pluck up the courage. When I hugged the mum she she commented that she could feel me shaking! They are a courageous and dignified couple and they made me feel humble. Spoke about the baby and saw a lovely pic of her. Just basically said we would do anything at all to help even if it was only watching their dd so they could have some time if they needed but I think in the long run dd will be their saviour. They said being at the hosp allowed them to see many children who were in a worse state than their dd and they are grateful that some of the time she was healthy and lively and they had a chance to get to know her.

Just hope that tomorrow isn't too bad for them.

Gave ds an extra big hug tonight.

BeckyBendyLegs · 27/11/2008 13:14

Poppy your post is bringing tears to my eyes. It must be so hard for them but they seem to have the right attitude. It is impossible I think to know how I'd be in that situation. I hope that I could be as stoic as they are. I can't even imagine it though.

Yesterday or day before I read a heart-wrenching story in the Daily Mail about a woman who had lost three baby boys in a row and then went for sex selection to get a girl as the boys had all died of a similar heart problem. It was so sad.

I need some expert advice: I've been testing every day with OV sticks and no positive. I didn't get a positive last month either. Does this mean I am not OVing? I'm confused. Is there something wrong with me perhaps?

nandos · 27/11/2008 16:26

poppy, its good that u went over to their house. i think they would really appreciate it.
M2O, am so sorry to hear abt your friend's loss too..it very sad esp after going thru IVF and to lose their baby is very devastating

becky, am not an exprt but this month i dont know when i ov. thought i ovulated on CD8 due to pains in ovary but a lot of ppl said its near impossible esp am on clomid that time. theres no EWCM mid cycle as well so i dont really know when i ov due to EWCM.
do u have any symptoms b4 and this time? if theres no positive on the OV stick, i think u should contact your GP saying u didnt ov this cycle n last cycle. he might be able to do something for you..

BeckyBendyLegs · 27/11/2008 16:48

I do get symptoms. I had EWCM on Tuesday this week (day 15 from start of last period - is that when you start counting?) and I get crampy feelings too (got that on Tues and Wed). We did do it Tues night. But the stick said negative Tues, Wed, and today.

mummy2olivia · 27/11/2008 20:58

Becky, did you start testing on Tuesday? If so, you are testing too late and missing the surge which will happen 36 hours before ov. x test from day 8 next month.

OP posts:
BeckyBendyLegs · 29/11/2008 10:09

I started testing last Friday, which would have been eight days since start of AF. Still negatory now. Well who knows? If it happens it happens and if not, well there's always next month (my monthly mantra at the moment).

nandos · 29/11/2008 16:21

Becky, thats still quite early but its a good thing you did early cos' u might have missed the ov day if you had started testing from the mid cycle onwards. hopefully there will e a positive soon..

am so exhaused today cos' just reached london in the afternn and had a 2 hour nap. woke up with my face all dried up cos' didnt put moisturiser after shower and gonna have my lunch+dinner soon and go to sleep again after that..am so tired.
will chat with you ladies again hopefully tonight or tmr

take care and have a nice weekend..
