charliesmum, nandos, beakas, sugr, cornflower, poppy, becky and everyone else who miscarried in may/june 2008....

We have all been very brave together and supported eachother. For those of us that are ready, it may be time to support eachother again as we return to TTC. Lets hold hands, remember our loss and give a nod to the future as we endeavour to procreate and............

SHAG!!

Evening girls!

Happy Birthday to whoever it is whose b'day it is!

Can't be long as PIL's staying again and have to be 'sociable'. Had a lovely but v busy weekend, and only got back late last night so am shattered!

Hope you're all okay - will come on if I can tomorrow and catch up properly!

Lots of love x

poppy27 · 06/10/2008 22:26

Hi ladies thanks for all the birthday wishes I crossed over into late 30ies land yesterday!

Had a lovely spa break. Very relaxing and loads of great food . Had a Thalgo body treatment (rubbed in mud/oils/covered in plastic while it heats up then power showered and creamed)which was lovely. Could only imagine Ds's face if he seen his mum in that state!

Got lovely pressies and Ds and Dh had made me a lovely card featuring tornadoes in the shape of a love heart. Very unusual .

becky hope this proves to be a lucky month for you .

nandos glad you got to spend some time with ds that must have been nice. Totally understand how hard it is to hear of others pg news. Sometimes my teeth are clenching while I smile . It definately helps to vent here though!

mbs enjoy your visitors. Hope you get a good rest.

I have alerted dh that today was a pos on the OPK sticks so his services will be required. There is no end to the spontaneity of ttc

BeckyBendyLegs · 07/10/2008 08:21

Spontaneity - I can't remember the last time we were spontaneous. Last night we had a debate: shall we, shan't we? We decided not to in the end since I had probably finished ovulating and also I wanted to finish my book off and to be honest I needed a break from it! Romance is alive and kicking!

Welcome to the late 30s, Poppy, it isn't too bad over here. I still don't feel like I belong over here but I'll probably be thinking that still when I am 60.

poppy27 · 07/10/2008 11:05

You know I love to read in bed and sometimes that has a greater lure than bonking I really dont know what that says about me .

Also far too familiar with the will we/won't we debate.......oh dear.

nandos · 07/10/2008 14:07

ooh... after reading the spa treatment im feeling sooo jealous wish i had that

btw had spent some time with dh, not ds (i know its typo error) but its nice to dream of future ds/dd since you mentioned it poppy..
re reading in bed, its a good habit and doesnt reflect anything bad abt you..
instead i like to read mails/magazine in bed..what does that say abt me
also forgot to mention here that i just completed my clomid cycle and now into the 2WW (although i dont know when i ovulate) 15 days to go before AF arrives..

BeckyBendyLegs · 07/10/2008 21:23

I read in bed, in the bath, on the loo, on the way to the spa shop, while cooking, in the queue at the post office, while watching TV, while writing this on mumsnet (just kidding - others are real though). I don't read while bonking though but DH jokes about it.

I'm watching Jamie Gets Bolton Cooking on TV right now or whatever it is called. I might read at the same time...

poppy27 · 08/10/2008 11:33

oops nandos sorry about the typo maybe it's a subconscious premonition for you. I really really hope so. Isn't it funny how the tww always goes really slowly...giving us loads of time to symptom spot.

becky I watched Jamie last night as well and also read whilst watching just a trashy magazine mind you.

I'm off to see Cinderella with my girlguides tonight. It is being performed at our local theatre by a children's amateur dramatics group so hopefully it will be quite entertaining.

Hope you are all well.

BeckyBendyLegs · 08/10/2008 18:56

We've been cooking apple pies today. The DSs and I do a cooking with your children course after school on a Wednesday (a bit like what Jamie does but with children too and without the famous chef). We now have a freezer full of apple pies as we made loads! The DSs' efforts are very cute - really, really thick pastry toppings on their pies and big chunks of apple inside. They got really into it!

DH does a Japanese for Beginners course on a Wednesday evening so I am home alone at the moment (except the DSs). The Family is on tonight though and I am really addicted to it. Does anyone else watch it?

I don't feel pregnant yet, another month of painful waiting for period - not due until a week Friday. Ahhhhh. I'm going to go bonkers doing this I am sure (not literally as DH is going to burn out soon / get fed up of sex on demand.)

poppy27 · 10/10/2008 11:29

How are you all today?
We have had a nightmare the last 2 nights with a neighbours house alarm going off during the night for about 30mins a time. Their house is vacant as they bought a new one but have kept that one as well. Police can't/wont do anything as there is no keyholder on record. They own a local hotel so dh called there to ask the owners to be informed and was told by the staff that the manager couldn't possibly be disturbed!! It's obviously ok for us though. GRRRR
Rant over.

Tomorrow is DH's birthday and ds has made him a lovely card, just need to buy a cake now.

Have a good weekend.

nandos · 10/10/2008 15:50

OOh.. buy me a birthday cake too when im back in the UK (kidding) or give me the apple pies at least my birthday is in November
DH just left today to the US and he'll be back after 11/12 days later..
we went to the zoo yesterday and it was stormy and rainy but just for a short while and was quite surprised by the amount of animal/reptiles and other creatures there was tiring but had a wonderful trip

hope MBM and m2olivia, and the rest are ok ..

monkeybumsmum · 11/10/2008 11:13

Morning!

Just a quick one as am meant to be cleaning/tidying!

Nandos when is your b'day? Mine's the 1st November... DH's gone away today for three weeks trekking - he's due back on my b'day. If he gets back safely that'll be the best b'day present . Fingers crossed... Have you got anything planned for yours?
What date is AF due? I so hope this month is lucky for you.
Rubbish memeory alert, but is it Singapore you're in? The zoo there is great! Did you go on the rides too? (Hope it's the same one I'm thinking about .) Hope you don't miss dh too much while he's away...

Poppy The spa break sounds like bliss! You lucky thing! Hee hee re the card . Am soooo with you on the reading in bed. It's a lovely way to wind down after a long day, especially if you're a bit of a bookworm like me! It always seems to me like shagging takes far too much energy , especially when you're all ready to snuggle up and fall asleep. Hope you managed to get lots in though!
Poor you with the alarm going off - that must have made you really cross! Especially for 30 mins at a time!
Happy Birthday to DH, hope you have a lovely day!

Becky Yum yum! The apple pies sound lovely. What a great thing for your ds's to be doing! Soon you'll be able to sit back and have them slaving over supper. If only... . My ds is in training with the washing, he's doing well so far. 19 months and he can already load it and press the buttons.

Hope you all have a good weekend, M2O too if you're reading this.
Love to you all xxx

nandos · 11/10/2008 16:31

Hi MBM,
soo romantic of you- thinking of DH returning safely as your greatest b'day gift i am romantic as well lol but DH killed it long time back..so am like a robot now
Btw your b'date is same as my sweet bro's! mine is on the 11th. Usually bro treats me to dinner (not DH) but this time am celebrating with DH so hopefully he'll give me a pressie or something, yes thats right i hardly get anything from him , used to when we were dating, not anymore..anywayz am used to it now and i dont expect anything from anyone anymore
Re missing him, yeah i do miss him..sometimes i think i love/miss him more than he does..iykwim
am i ranting? if so..over now.

Re the zoo, is it the tram you're talking abt? and yes im in singapore and its so hot and even hotter after taking clomid.. am in CD 18 today, still a long way to go.
Take care everybody n have a good weekend

BeckyBendyLegs · 12/10/2008 12:07

Hi everyone

Singapore sounds hot, Nandos. I lived for two years in Japan 1995-7 and I remember the summers as being incredibly hot and sweaty with cidadars chirping all the time. DH and I saw Mama Mia last night at the cinema. What a fantastic film! You have to go if you haven't already. I don't get much romance out of my DH either Nandos. The last time we went out together was 14 months ago and I don't think he can just blame the children for that as that is a long time.

We have the PIL here this afternoon for Sunday lunch so better go. I am lucky that DH cooks. He is in the kitchen cooking like mad!

BeckyBendyLegs · 12/10/2008 12:08

What's a cidadar you may ask. I meant cicada!

poppy27 · 12/10/2008 14:16

Hi ladies
You are so lucky all of you who manage to get the dh's cooking mine is just good at the eating .

DH had a good birthday yesterday and we had a nice meal and a lovely bottle of sparkly wine last night. Feel a bit guilty as have been trying not to have any alcohol whilst ttc but just felt the need to indulge.

Found out on fri that one of my lovely friends is pg again. She had a mc the same time as me in feb and she is now 11.5 wks and happy/scared. She was a bit nervous about telling me but for her I couldn't be happier. Kind of gives me hope.

becky enjoy your sun dinner with PIL. We are going to my parents later for dinner and I have bought a big b'day cake for dh so that ds can blow out candles. He feels it is his wee job!

mbs where is your dh trekking to? Sounds very exciting!

nandos zoo sounds fun. I probably enjoy these things more than any children!

Ds has gone up to his friends house up the street for her birthday party. They are having a face painter so goodness knows what creature he will come home as

Take care everyone

monkeybumsmum · 14/10/2008 19:14

Hi All!

Just another 'quick' one as have to feed dogs etc... Hope you've all had a good couple of days?

Poppy Hee hee re eating dh's - sounds like mine! How do they manage to put away soooo much food? Is beyond comprehension sometimes... Mind you, he can cook too when he puts his mind to it That's lovely news about your friend. I hope everything works out for her .
Did ds get his face painted?? There was a face painter at one of my friends son's christening party this summer - she was fantastic! Never really been all that into the old face painting malarky until I saw what she could do... Hope he enjoyed it!
DH is in Nepal. He's gone with his dad - he'd been going on for ages about how he wanted to do something with his dad before his dad's too old, so I came up with the bright idea that they go away for three weeks, without me! Agh! Am seriously regretting it now, am missing him desperately. Only another 18 days to go........

Nandos Suddenly realised in the middle of the night last night that I've been thinking about the zoo in Hong Kong. D'oh . Am sure the one in Singapore is brill too though! Wish I could go!
What CD are you on now? 21? Didn't know Clomid makes you feel hot - poor you. Hope it works though...
Re romanticism, it's more the fact that I am terrified that something's going to happen to him and he's going to fall off a mountain or an avalanche might happen and bury him alive. You know, the things one normally worries about . Have been so scared for the last six months, which is why both times when I was pg I was relieved in a way coz I thought at least I'd be left with a sibling for ds if anything happened to him. Mad I know... I will be able to relax when finally he gets home!

Becky Glad you enjoyed Mamma Mia - have heard great things about it! How were your PIL's?? Hope you had a nice Sunday lunch, yum yum!
Whereabouts in Japan were you? I've recently met a lovely friend who's just moved here from Japan - met her on mumsnet actually!

M2O Was thinking of you today. Just wanted to wish you good luck for Thursday, in case I don't get chance to post tomorrow. I hope you get good news... Hope you're okay.

As for me, I am seriously getting my knickers in a twist as I have the appt to get my results on Friday - am going on my own and am dreading it. Could be finding out the sex of the baby too if they were able to tell. Makes me feel so sad. Really want to hold it together in front of the gynae, and try to take in all that she's telling me... Feel too knackered to be strong! Am going armed with pen and paper so at least I can read back through it afterwards...

Hope you're all okay. Lots of love x

mummy2olivia · 14/10/2008 19:54

Oh MBM- I have been checking through this thread everyday to see when your appt is as I wasnt sure. I really really hope it goes ok- I will be thinking of you. I know it will be desperately sad and I really hope it all goes ok and you get the answers you want. I wish we could all be with you to hold your hand! We will be there in spirit! Is your appt in belgium?

Thank you for your best wishes for my appt- am stuffed up with a nasty bout on tonsillitis at the mo but hope I have all my faculties by Thursday! Thats a good idea bout taking notes. will let you know then hopefully can carry on with TTC. have already been spending a bit more time on here in preparation! knowing my luck she will say stay on the pill!

lots of love xxx

Hi mbs ds loved party and opted for a lizard tattoo to be painted on his arm rather than face. Was very proud of it and told me that the lady "didn't use needles, only paint"

I once worked beside a girl who lived in Nepal doing mission work. She really loved her time there and said the people were great. Hope your DH has a good, safe time!
My DH loves hillwalking and I always like it when he calls to let me know he is down safely.

Hope your appt. goes ok on Fri and your questions get answered. Taking a notepad is a great idea if you are going alone especially if they use any medical jargon. Will be thinking of you.

m2oalso good luck with your appt. on thur. Hope you get the all clear for ttc again. Hope your tonsilitis has gone by then. Nothing worse than feeling crap and trying to take in info at the same time. Good luck.

BeckyBendyLegs · 14/10/2008 22:01

MBM I'll be thinking of you on Friday. I wish we could all be there too to support you as best we can.

M2O same goes for you on Thursday. Poor you with poorly tonsils. I've had tonsillitis a couple of times. It is the pits!

I've been to Ueno Zoo in Japan but never any zoos in Hong Kong or Singapore. I lived in Saitama, which is just above Tokyo. It was over ten years ago now so: nihongo zenzen dekimasen! I've never been to Nepal. The furthest I go these days is Birmingham and that's a big day out.

My AF is due on Friday. Don't feel pregnant. Don't feel anything. Watching Jamie Oliver getting everyone cooking again. Wasn't I hear this time last week? One of his cooks is pregnant and had a twenty-week scan on the programme. I shouldn't feel sad!

I am already sick of Christmas adverts and presents in the shops. Let's cancel Christmas this year.

nandos · 15/10/2008 14:10

MBM, we are here to support u whenever needed and hopefully the test results show what you needed to hear..
M2olivia, how is your endometri..?(dont know how to spell it) is it better/calmer now? Hope tour tonsils get better soon.
Becky, same here. Feels the same, dont feel preg, nothing, nadda. well except sore nipps thats sometimes normal for me but dont know..
Poppy, hope u are feeling fine girl

I went to Malaysia today and got a foot massage. It was nice but painful and whenver i said ouch, she rub even more on that particular area and feel like giving her one kick
Amazingly, she knew my internal problems like insomnia, talked abt ovaries and difficulty to conceive! and slight bladder problems which i seems to be having on and off. I didnt even mention anything to her. She could feel it from my toes and feet..
aah..i feel like sleeping now after the massage

take care all

BeckyBendyLegs · 15/10/2008 17:14

Nandos massage sounds lovely. It's amazing that she knew all that about you from just your feet! My nipples are sensitive but not sore. I have a funny taste in my mouth but that might be all the chocolate I have been eating. The DSs and I have just made a sausage pie for tea. They are at the moment in the kitchen playing with the odd bits of pastry as if they were play dough. DS2 is wearing DH's apron and he looks soooo cute as it is about three times as big as he is. I wish I could show you.

monkeybumsmum · 17/10/2008 13:04

Thanks for the support girls... Went this morning, and managed to hold myself together admirably I reckon. Found out that it was a partial molar pregnancy, so it would never have survived outside the womb. Don't really know much about it, so am just reading up about it now... Anybody know anything?

Have read so far that it's caused when two sperm fertilise the egg rather than just one - should've been twins, but instead it results in a baby with 69 chromosomes rather then 46. DH did state that he had super swimmers ...

Hope you are all okay today?

Lots of love xx

nandos · 17/10/2008 15:41

Hi all..
Aww must be cute to see the huge apron on his tiny body, Becky
MBM, glad they could pinpoint the cause. Not really sure abt molar pregnancy but i remembered vaguely when i tried to look it up during my mc. Its sort of when the egg is fertilised, it doesnt become a fully formed embryo or something due to the defects.

When i went to the hospital last time, the doctor mentioned that because DH's swimmers had low motility, she said majority of the bad swimmers have 2 heads, no tails or no head. i was a bit shocked when i heard it and that may be the reason why miscarriages occur so frequently..

btw i am on CD25 today n 6 more days till AF. DH will be coming back around that time too. Miss him soo much.
When is your hubby coming back MBM?

BeckyBendyLegs · 17/10/2008 17:08

Mbm I have heard of molar pregnancy. I think it is supposed to be just one of those things that can happen to anyone. Glad you managed to get through today. I'm sending you a virtual hug. Lol at your DH's super swimmers!

My AF arrived today bang on time (it was about an hour early in fact). What a total pisser eh? What can I do? I can either get depressed about it or just keep trying... I just have to count myself lucky for what I have got and keep thinking 'maybe next month'. I can feel my biological clock ticking though and the grey hairs sprouting. I felt slightly cheered earlier this week though speaking to someone who said she was born in the 60s (she was talking about being born when the book The Tiger That Came To Tea first came out) and she's got a seven month old baby. I was at least born in the 70s so there is time yet!

poppy27 · 18/10/2008 00:10

Hi MBM well done for getting through the appt. today. I must admit to having heard the term molar pg but honestly had no idea what it meant. Lots of ((((hugs)))).

Becky I must be getting in sync with you as my AF isn't due till tues but have been pmt last few days and surprise surprise earlier on it's showing it's ugly face. Feel a bit mad as had been really making an effort this month .

Had a scare yest as my lovely friend who just told me she was 11wks pg (had mc in feb at same time as me) had a bit of bleeding on wed. She ended up being scanned thur where they told her baby is ok but placenta lying over opening of uterus. They said there could be more bleeding but hopefully the placenta would move. BUT they are not going to scan her again now till 36 wks to check out whether she needs to be sectioned due to this. There is such a lack of care for pg ladies. Have absolutely everything crossed for her.

Ds showed me a v unusual piece of lego tonight after dinner. When asked where it came from he replied "I stole it from school" AGHHH
When it was explained to him this was very wrong and it would have to go back and he would need to give it to the teacher he was breaking his heart/mortified. Told him school have special jails for bad boys. He hung his 6 year old head in shame for the rest of the night. Never a dull moment.
TBH wish there was a way I could sneak it back in and not let the teacher think my son is a junior delinquent!
