hi ibl ye you need to gof every day when you see ewcm as this is your most fertile mucus. doesnt matter what time of day you gof.
havent used a fr before. best time to test is when period due 15 dpo

kayzisexpecting · 02/06/2008 09:16

Hi Bluelines,

If you GOF every other day and on the days you get EWCM that should be fine. When you do get EWCM you should definetly(sp) have a GOF.

I'd leave using the FR until the day your period is due but if like me you can't wait use it the day before your period is due.

imaginarybluelines · 02/06/2008 09:17

Thanks Tink. So does it matter if we GOF'd in the morning and then I saw the ewcm in the eve? Should we have done it then as well. Today is day 10 - does it sound right that I am seeing ewcm (just a little bit yest...) I have no idea how long my cycle is as I am breastfeeding and got my period back for the first time 10 days ago. It used to be about 28 days though - do you think it would be the same?

Squack · 02/06/2008 09:17

I have had +ves with a FR at 10dpo with an LP12. So that's 2 days early and the line came up as the pee was passing it iykwim.

I think 4 days early is based upon an LP of 14 days or longer.

It's a waste of time testing before 10dpo, unless like Moos n me you're just poas nuts hehehe!

6 days is slightly unrealistic think that's the FR ploy to tempt you to test everyday thus making them more money tbh.

imaginarybluelines · 02/06/2008 09:19

ooh thanks kay (and congrats!!!!!)Wish I had pinned DH down and done the deed last night (sorry TMI) but think I need to give the poor man a chance to recover. He should be recovered now for today anyway!

imaginarybluelines · 02/06/2008 09:21

I shall be good and wait before poas then. I guess as it is my first proper cycle with BF and all, then it is highly unlikely anyway.
Are there others on this thread who are BF and TTC?

imaginarybluelines · 02/06/2008 09:22

sorry - one last question. My period returned as I cut down to 2 feeds - morning and night. If DD has a cheeky extra feed here and there - say she is feeling poorly or wakes in the night (this happens very rarely) do you think my period might not even come back next month anyway?

Squack · 02/06/2008 09:29

Once i cut out the night feeding my cycle returned.

We were feeding first thing, afternoon and evening, no more. Shortly after that he self weaned at 13 mo. My cycles were a bit longer but not much more than 34-35 for two months then dropped to 32, this one is expected to be about 27-28

EsmeWeatherwax · 02/06/2008 09:42

Morning all,

Fingers and toes still crossed for you Moos and Squack

Ok, this is silly, but how do the thread titles work? Are you on the wagon if you are ttc or if you are waiting to ttc? [thick emoticon]

Am v. tired this morning, trying to hide under the desk at work in the hope nobody will speak to me all day. Obviously due to times last night...lol...

Squack · 02/06/2008 09:50

You're on the Wagon if you're waiting to TTC. Off if you are going for it now.....I think.

Herbgarden on the temp buddies thread just got a BFP...Yay!

imaginarybluelines · 02/06/2008 10:10

Thanks Squack. It's so hard not being impatient and trying to guess what will happen. Let's hope AF is back for good and we are not TTC pointlessly this month! (It's harder work than I thought!)

glaskham · 02/06/2008 10:43

IBL- i was bf ds and on the mini pill, never even saw my first period and my first egg that my body released after ds's birth was fertilised, resulting in my dd!! And he was feeding constantly still then!!

glaskham · 02/06/2008 10:45

any ideas on the new thread title???

imaginarybluelines · 02/06/2008 10:51

wow glaskham. You must be some super fertile being! I'll have some of what you're having. How old was DS at the time?

glaskham · 02/06/2008 10:55

DS was 7mths when i concieved, dd was a honeymoon baby... and i am hoping i'm as super fertile as i was then!! that was nearly 3years ago that i concieved dd. I was tryign last cycle as a surrogate for my friend, luckily i didn't get pregnant as things didn't work out... and i was left 2 weeks ago feelign broody and with a body ready for pregnancy, and in them 2 weeks i've managed to get DH on board for dc3!!!

Playingthewaitinggame · 02/06/2008 10:57

Morning all, can't believe we need a new thread already!!

Yes, you are on the wagon if you are waiting ttc. You see these threads started in Jan as a waiting ttc thread. So we were all on the wagon and gradually most of us have fallen off. There are still a few of us left not ttc yet (I'm one) but in the next 3-5 months we should all be ttcing or pg.

Kay, glad you scan was ok

Glaskhan, congrats on ttcing and becoming an aunty

Hi everyone

imaginarybluelines · 02/06/2008 11:01

well good luck Glaskham! my fingers are crossed for you, if you send some of your super fertile vibes my way!
Hi Ptwg...

glaskham · 02/06/2008 11:10

i send super fertile vibes to all!! but if it takes me ages to concieve then i do apologise!!!

tinkhasabunintheoven · 02/06/2008 13:20

hi ibl

no that doesnt matter atall as long as you gofd same day as you saw it
an average cycle of 28 days you would ovulate on day 14 so ewcm around days 11 just before you ovulate.

Starshinetiger · 02/06/2008 13:28

Hi All, long time no post - manic week at work last week. Just a quick one to say I haven't gone away, have been lurking, just no time to post. Yay Glaskham - really excited for you. Don't think I've missed any BFPs?
Sorry for all news I haven't commented on - brain is fried at the moment and I have to leave early today as DS has headlice and has been sent home from Childminder (DH has collected him) - my head hasn't stopped being itchy since I heard from DH and I had my haircut on Saturday (Hope I don't have them and hairdresser thinks I'm minging)! I know it's normal for DC to get them, but it does make me blush !
Right, must get on with work to get out of here early.
Catch you all soon.

Starshinetiger · 02/06/2008 13:29

P.S. Only 10 days until my hospital appt, which fingers crossed will go fine and then we can get on with TTC. Have to be inventive - DH is having surgery on cruciate knee ligament 5 days later and I'll need to speed his recovery so I can jump him within a week of that to start trying to hit Ov time (we did say nothing was TMI)

happynappies · 02/06/2008 13:41

Hi everyone - hope you all enjoyed the weekend.

I'm a bit confused and was wondering if anyone out there can offer any technical help with FF/temping.

I'll try to be brief!

My cycle is 28 days. Last month GOF'd when Dr Amy thought I was due to ov, but BFN. This month started temping, and checking CM etc, filling in chart on FF. To begin with, based on AF FF predicted ov to be this Thursday (i.e. 5th June), but last week got EWCM and got the green light from FF. I was confused as there were then two possible 'fertile windows' on my calendar - i.e. last week, and this week. Put in my temp this morning, and immediately FF drew the red lines and said I'd ovulated - last Friday, so now I'm panicking that I missed it. We did GOF last Thursday, so might that be ok? Also, would you trust FF enough to abandon thoughts that I could still ov this week? Because I haven't charted before I haven't got enough data to rely on really, and no - haven't done any OPKs - I suppose I could do that could I?

Sorry for garbled message - just really didn't expect to OV on CD9 - that seems early? Hope I haven't missed it again!!!

Hi to newbies - welcome to the wagon that I fell off last month!

Good luck to people testing - can't wait to hear the BFPs so I can grill you all even more about the do's and don'ts of ttc!!!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 02/06/2008 14:06

Afternoon all So much for me being back, DS2 has played up something proper...!

Doppler has come, no heartbeat to be heard though, well I heard mine, that seems to be doing OK

Happynappies, if you GOF on the Thursday, and FF has predicted OV on the Friday, you should be covered I don't know too much about the temping etc. but if I were you I would carry on GOF'ing at least till the end of this week just to make sure. CD9 is certainly possible though, from my dates and timed GOF's, I must have OV'ed around CD8/9 (and completely missed all signs of OV, good job we like having sex at other times of the month!!) Good luck!!

Good to see you Star I reckon a well placed ice pack on DH's knee should give him time enough to perform

OP posts:
EsmeWeatherwax · 02/06/2008 14:34

Happy, Think you should be covered for last Friday if gof'ed on Thursday, don't the little swimmers have a couple of days shelf life in situ? Would second NJ's advice to keep at it though, lol, at least thats a good time to be had by all...

kookykid · 02/06/2008 15:22

Woo hoo! 1000 posts!
for you, Moos and Squack, but fingers crossed for BFPs in the next few days.

I just wanted to pop on and say I got the job! Not sure what'll happen if I get BFP, but we'll deal with that if it happens. Have sore tingly boobs and achey tummy this morning.

Will be back later.
