Nah!

You won't need to do anything special like that. As long as the sperm are deposited by the cervix and there is ewcm for them to survive in you'll be fine.

Make sure he sees to you though before you see to him lol

glaskham · 01/06/2008 16:12

thats why i'm getting seen to before footy.... then he can get some 'favours' off me for his duties after his shower!!!

How wierd, never tought i'd be discussing my sex life on a public forum!!

we haven't had sex without protection since we had dd, so it was strange last night... my initial reaction was to wipe myself off etc and it seemed like it all came out of me... thoguh sayign that when i got caught with the other 2 i was on the pill so we never used anything else and it always seemed like everything came out but i got pregnant... so must be enough left...

Cosmogirl · 01/06/2008 16:21

Hi girls,

Haven't been on much lately, so just wanted to check in and say hi. Things still a bit hairy at work with the office politics, so hoping that sorts itself out in the next few weeks.

Happy June everyone! Another month closer for those of us still hanging onto the waggon Don't know where the time is going...

Moosma · 01/06/2008 16:30

Oh it's June! That means Im allowed off the wagon (heehee)

Moosma · 01/06/2008 16:31

Nice to see you Cosmo, hope work settles down soon.

Cosmogirl · 01/06/2008 16:39

Thanks Moos. Congrats on 'officially' being off le wagon....I think I probably ought to choose an actual month soon, rather than 'Oct/Nov' indecisive...

Moosma · 01/06/2008 16:47

How about June??

Diege · 01/06/2008 16:50

Hi Cosmo! Yes, how about June, tis a great month to start ttc-ing

Cosmogirl · 01/06/2008 17:17

You are both bad....

Squack · 01/06/2008 19:53

Right I'm armed with sainsbury's OB for tomorrow.

I did a cheep this afternoon and wasn't sure if there was a faint line or not.
I held it up to the window and could clearly see a line from the back, but it was imaginarily faint from the front.

Now other tests I've done previous months have not had the line front the back so I don't know what to think.

It's my own fault really because I'm testing too early.

Aaaaargh! i hate the 2ww

Diege · 01/06/2008 20:02

ooh Squack but that's the sort of result you would expect from testing v.early!!! Looking really good! One thing you could do (if you have a few cheapies to hand) is to get dh to wee on one too as a 'control', then any faint lines or otherwise can't be explained away so easily! (or of course you could put one in water, but not half as exciting!).
Bad cramps here, so maybe af (due wed/thurs) will put an early appearance in this month!

Squack · 01/06/2008 20:10

Lol

Dh said this afternoon, and I quote
"I'm not squinting at a feckin test again so FGS hurry up and get pregnant so you can stop p*ssing on everything in sight!"

He's right though

Okay I'm seriously tempted to pee on one of the Sainsbury's now.....

Squack · 01/06/2008 20:12

Ooh Diege I do have cheeps to hand...I do, I do

Only just starting to feel twinges again today. Still have localised backache.

calsworld · 01/06/2008 20:13

Hi all! I'm crackered - been a very long week with family visiting, but great fun and educational at the same time - DH and I did consider cancelling the TTC on a couple of occasions, but we're still trying!

Its CD19 for me today, think I had EWCM on CD14 and GOF'd on CD 14, 16 and 18. Today is the first time I've looked at my chart for a while as have been trying to be a little more laid back.

Have been having cramps for the last couple of days and very windy tummy...I'm guessing that 5 days post OV is a little early for symptom spotting!

Oh well, I can but try!

We've had a lovely few days with DS, he really is very cute, always happy and making me and DH laugh. Starting to use 'words' a bit better, although they aren't really identifiable by anyone other than us. We'll be in trouble when the dog recognises DS calling her as he keeps throwing food of his highchair tray then calling her to come and eat it!

Back to work tomorrow and hoping its not going to be too stressful, tonsillitis is under control for the time being.

Going to make a separate post on CM.....

calsworld · 01/06/2008 20:20

OK, never paid much attention to the whole issue of CM before now - didn't really TTC for DS, just got pregnant first time.

Now, I'm looking out for EWCM each month and rarely see anything remotely like it. I know what I'm looking for as definitly had plenty in my 20's (am 32 now).

Most months, I have had one day where I have a lot of CM, and then on following days its just kind of clear and slimy, but not EW-like, IYSWIM?

I've been on anti-biotics for what feels like forever - and this month got EWCM on one day - could it be related?

Have also been drinking more water and understand this helps. Any thoughts anyone?

tinkhasabunintheoven · 01/06/2008 20:23

hi squack sounds hopeful
i tested 9dpo before i got my positive and felt really silly too!! it is really hard waiting isnt it.
on 9dpo i got negative no lines and got my positive on 14 dpo so you never know try and wait till fri good luck
hi cal

sounds like you have had a great weekend
sounds like gofing timing with ewcm is going well
ds sounds cute
glad that your tonsills are better for now

tinkhasabunintheoven · 01/06/2008 20:25

what you are getting on the one day a month sounds like ewcm some women get it for a few days or more others only get it for one day. dont know if antibiotics are related atall soz
i drink lots of water i was having ewcm for about 5 days

calsworld · 01/06/2008 20:35

thanks tink, i didn't realise it was common to only have it for one day, so that's good to know. thought i was ageing and drying up before my time !!!

calsworld · 01/06/2008 20:36

are you still there? can i ask another CM question?

Diege · 01/06/2008 20:56

Hi Cals!! I also just seem to get it one day a month, though in the past had it more like 3/4 days. Still, one day is one day!! I have to say my water intake is appalling, and I have noticed I tend to get more EWM and generally when I try and get at least a litre of water a day. I've heard grapefruit juice is good too??

calsworld · 01/06/2008 21:01

Yeah, but grapefruit juice?! YUK!

My other question is that after OV, you're supposed to dry up, but mine seems to go on for a few days...am I confused about when I OV?

Also, if I'm OV on day 14, how come cycle is 31 days - long LP? Is that normal / good / bad?

Diege · 01/06/2008 21:10

Hmm ...all sounds perfectly normal to me. I think EWCM is meant to change to 'dryer', thicker CM (ie, not dry up literally straight after ov, but just change over a period of days to thicker, sperm-hostile CM that isn't 'wet' and stretchy like EWCM). re: LP, again I'd say v,normal/good, but others know more than me about the technicalities!
Oh and cough medicine (expectorate sp??) is also meant to help CM, though there are mixed reports on this..

calsworld · 01/06/2008 21:14

Its not that I think that something is wrong, just that DH keeps asking questions and I don't know the answers! I was really pleased to see a convincing dose of EWCM and get a GOF in straight after this month.

Any thoughts on frequency of GOFing? We've been going at it every night on previous cycles, but decided to change to every other on this one....does it have an effect on quality of sperm?

If we don't catch this month then think we're going to try the pre-seed, I think DH quite likes the idea !

lastboxoftampons · 01/06/2008 21:19

Hello all!
Cal Do you know for sure you ov on CD14? It's possible that you get EWCM a few days before you ov (I do) - so if you were to ov on CD16, the 31 day cycle would be totally normal (that's not to say that it isn't if you ov'd on CD14 either though)

EsmeWeatherwax · 01/06/2008 21:22

Evening all, laptop has been down for the last few days, so not been able to get on...gahhh...nearly missed another thread! I definitely post better at work.

Cals, I monitor cm every cycle, sometimes only get it for a day or so, and its quite slight, sometimes a few days and its really heavy. Annoyingly, it seems to have been very light over the last two cycles.

My cycle is 30/31 days also, and I think a long lp is better than a very short one, but yours seems normal to me...it would, its about the same as mine!

Sounds good for you squack fingers crossed.

Kays loved your wee beany pic, so exciting!

And you are all very beautiful...I feel very large and plain!
