TWW at 40 yrs old

A few days into my two week wait now, period due around 2nd of March.

Trying not to get too excited as I'll soon be 40 and I know my chances are lower - nevertheless, I found myself downloading a pregnancy tracking app this morning and looking at all the visuals of what the baby would look like at various stages 🙃

Anyone else out there want to wait with me? Crossing fingers and toes for my November baby!!

So my AF hasn’t developed as I thought it would. I’ve had 2 days of very very minimal brown spotting and now wondering if I am actually out this month.
could it be implantation bleeding?

I took a test on Tuesday that was negative. I guess I’ll test again in the morning if AF doesn’t arrive fully by then. I still have stomach cramps so not feeling hopeful but just slightly confused

im ovulating today I think so just about to enter the tww. Gave it a really good try last night, you know the ones when you just know the swimmers are right up there! 🤣

Not a happy update. AF arrived finally. She must’ve got lost on the way but she’s here just in time for Mothers Day, the irony!

Popping back in as it sadly wasn't good news at my scan this morning. Very sad but also relieved to understand what's going on. I hated the not knowing after the bleeding. On the plus side, it wasn't an ectopic (which I was worried about).and my follicles look good apparently. Not really sure what happens next but it's confirmed for me that I'd like to keep trying x

I am tentatively joining this thread - I am 42 and have a 2 year old son. I suffer with PCOS so am overweight and don't have regular periods! My cycle is anywhere between 30 and 45 days! Although my last cycle was 80 days! When we were trying for my son i started taking inositol and maca root - and my 2nd cycle was a perfect 28 day cycle and then i conceived him on the 3rd cycle - so I've been taking these again this time and i think this is my first full cycle whilst being on them - according to my app i'm in my fertile window now so we are doing the deed every other day so we will see!
Its lovely to hear your stories - it at least makes me feel somewhat optimistic that it could happen for us.

I’m going to join the thread. 42, peeing on ovulation sticks again after 9 years!
New partner and I decided that we’re ready to hopefully have a baby together! First cycle this month, and just in the 2ww.
Definitely going to investigate some of the supplements others have said about

Definitely something different for me this cycle which could be the acupuncture changing my hormones I guess-
breakout of spots all over my chin- skin has been clear since new year
sore right nipple only!
sharp ovulation pains on both sides since 2dpo
trying not to symptom spot but just noting a difference.

Hi sorry for late reply I have been off here for a bit. We have been properly trying for about 18 months-24 months. I have been pregnant 3 times in the last 10 months so the getting pregnant doesn’t seem to be an issue, it’s the keeping hold of the baby that I’m struggling with.
I started slimming world a week ago and lost 4lb this week. Mother’s Day was sad but I do have 2 lovely boys so I can’t be upset. How are you getting on ? X

@MrBigsCati had the same spots all over my chin too! I got sharp pains starting around 4 days before ovulation. I had a really heavy period week before last so hopefully means my lining is getting nice and thick. Look forward to see what happens on our acupuncture journeys!

@JoleyjojoPCOS and irregular cycles must be so tough, especially not knowing when your next cycle will start!

period due yesterday, I’m normally like clockwork but not arrived as yet. Have had all normal symptoms so sure it’s going to arrive, have also tested and negative. It does feel like a cruel April fools at the mo though!

I’d forgotten how the days drag in the 2ww. Last time i conceived on first “go”. Hoping that I’m as lucky again this time.
Weirdly my 8 year old has started with lots of chat about what babies need

So I'm a bit puzzled, I was expecting my ovulation to be today, but I have been using opks and my LH surge was on Sunday (CD9). I have a 25/26 day cycle normally. I'm worried that this isn't normal, to ovulate that early in a cycle. We DTD on Sunday but not Monday (poor DH came home from work so late he passed out asleep on the sofa before he could eat dinner). Does anyone think that having an ovulation date so early in a cycle is worrying? I'm going insane thinking about it

The surge was day 9 but ovulation may have been day 10/11 which is normal as far as I know- I’m the same

I tried accupuncture last week and have had a couple of pimples on my chin this week (meant to be ovulating today). I have not had pimples on my chin at this time of the months since I was 14 .. I did not even think of the accupunture. I hope it means something is working ..!
