A few days into my two week wait now, period due around 2nd of March.

Trying not to get too excited as I'll soon be 40 and I know my chances are lower - nevertheless, I found myself downloading a pregnancy tracking app this morning and looking at all the visuals of what the baby would look like at various stages 🙃

Anyone else out there want to wait with me? Crossing fingers and toes for my November baby!!

@TheFutureIsand @EmberR sorry period arrived Always so upsetting

Mrs777 · 07/06/2025 09:59

I am also 42 and we’ve 3 teen, we have had 2 losses and my husband also mentioned maybe that’s enough now, he struggles to see me when I miscarry, I understand your post. But I feel very strongly we should keep going and when it eventually happens he will be beyond happy. I owe it to myself to keep going because in a couple years it will be even harder and I’d never forgive myself.

TheFutureIs · 16/06/2025 09:34

Should be ovulating today if my LH sticks are correct, really hoping this is my month to get lucky

MrBigsCat · 16/06/2025 13:18

I’m 10dpo and bfn
feeling really flat this month like it may never happen- it’s not like me I’m usually really positive 🙁
going to avoid ‘trying’ apps/ tests/ counting days etc for a while

CheekyLittleD · 16/06/2025 13:21

I'm cycle day 3. Turned 41 a week or so ago, and focusing on the positives of my situation.

I came off the pill in January and have been plagued with irregular cycles, but things do seem to be improving. My last cycle was 35 days, down from 39 during May and 67 days in March to April.

This last cycle, the highest LH ratio I got was 0.8 and 13 days later, along came AF, which is standard for me. And I do feel like I'm getting more intune with my body with each cycle.

Another positive is that I've been supplementing with myo-inosital, CoQ10, folic acid and omega fish oils since January and my PMS this cycle and last has been no more than achey boobs since my LH surge day. That's a big improvement for me.

So no baby for me this cycle but I feel like things are heading in the right direction.

EmberR · 16/06/2025 14:42

Sending everyone best wishes and baby dust for this cycle. I’m on day 11, been upping the vitamins and started acupuncture.

My worry is I am using the clear blue OPKs and last few months never catch a positive? Not even flashing smile? Just blank circles.

I do have a regular period cycle (mostly) so assume I am still ovulating but just never seeing it? Anyone else?!

Iris2024 · 16/06/2025 15:02

Sending everybody baby dust for the month ahead ❤️ I have taken time out whilst I was on my AF, I’m CD8 now, we are both 41 with a 6 year old we conceived first cycle. I’ve recently had my ultrasound and they confirms I’m ovulating and all satisfactory and no further action needed. I’ve got an appointment with the fertility team on Wednesday so I’m hopeful to hear the next steps. We tried for 6 months January-June 2024 and this is now our 4th cycle back TTC. It’s so tough not knowing if it’s going to happen isn’t it? I really want a sibling for my DD and love my second so much already even though they’re a big question mark if they will ever exist 😢

I'm really sorry, I hope you start to feel more positive soon. Sending you lots of love xx

EmberR · 18/06/2025 07:48

@MrBigsCat hope you are feeling ok, I know it’s a really tough journey I feel your pain and frustration.

I wanted to ask some advice please. I got a static smiley face on Clearblue digital OPK so feeling more reassured that at least I ovulate as I wasn’t sure I even was.

We only DTD on the day of the static smiley and one day before (although I never saw a flashing smiley). My husband is away for 2 days now, so I wondered if once was enough on static smiley day?

TheFutureIs · 18/06/2025 08:00

It could be, fingers crossed for you! My understanding is that sperm live up to 5 days while the egg only has about 24 hours after ovulation so sex before is more important than after

TheFutureIs · 18/06/2025 08:00

Also fingers crossed for you x

EmberR · 18/06/2025 09:11

Thank you all. Every month is a new opportunity right and we all have to stay positive and hopeful. Thank you for this community and support it is so appreciated x

I’m so sorry lovely, it’s soul destroying every month isn’t it. I’m back around to another fertile window so again we live in hope. Sending love ❤️

Clara202 · 18/06/2025 15:41

@EmberR I suggest you do temping also if you’re not already. Clearblue had me ovulating twice this month, two static smilies a week apart. It was only when I did temping that I confirmed that the first one didn’t happen and the second one was the ‘real’ one.

EmberR · 18/06/2025 16:37

@Clara202 whoah that’s crazy!!! Is that even possible?

EmPeEf · 18/06/2025 23:15

EmberR · 18/06/2025 16:37

@Clara202 whoah that’s crazy!!! Is that even possible?

From what I’ve read, it’s quite common especially for people with conditions such as PCOS. Their body will attempt to ovulate and not succeed. So it will attempt again. This leads to a longer cycle as the luteal phase will still be the same length. Hence people saying there’s no late period, only late ovulation.

EmPeEf · 19/06/2025 00:05

I’ve felt so ill today. Sick as a dog but I can’t be sick, and my disability pain has flared up. I think/hope it’s progesterone kicking my arse. I’m like 3/4dpo I think.

EmPeEf · 19/06/2025 01:05

And dizzy! Omg. My nausea is like hangover mixed with something else. It’s so extreme. And coming in waves every hour or so. Anyone else experience symptoms like this after ovulation? I’m starting to worry my body is too old and broken to be able to hand a pregnancy if this is how I feel even before implantation or anything.

MrBigsCat · 19/06/2025 07:50

I’ve had a particularly high progesterone luteal phase- massive bloat as in I’ve come straight home and had to put on my pjs
loads of cm
emotional
I think progesterone can affect everything @EmPeEf and send us mental, but could you actually be ill with a big maybe?

i had something that could be nothing- I was 8dpo and I had a left ovary pain and left groin stabby pain that came and went for about 30 mins. The next day I had one wipe of brown blood and nothing since.
However tests up till 10dpo have been negative and not had any more tests to test since!
af is due tomorrow so don’t have long to wait

Clara202 · 19/06/2025 08:26

@EmberR yes it’s detecting a surge but that doesn’t mean that an egg has been released. I had cramps and a lot of ewcm a week later so I decided to test again and I had a static smiley and a cheap opk was blazing positive also. My body never seems to do the same thing from month to month though, so many I’m unusual but I’m glad I temped to confirm.

EmberR · 19/06/2025 09:30

@EmPeEf i hope you’re feeling better? I was so nauseous yesterday I think it was ovulation hormones. I had to take an anti sickness tablet and lie down it was that bad. I also worry my body is broken and it’s all perimenopause crap and it wouldn’t even cope if I managed to get pregnant. Sometimes being a woman sucks massively

@Clara202 thank you for sharing the info I didn’t know this at all. This week I’ve had cm and felt weird so I assume I’ve ovulated already but who knows. I’ll keep checking as I have opk sticks left xx

EmberR · 19/06/2025 09:32

@MrBigsCat fingers crossed AF doesn’t arrive and it’s your month xx

I totally should have taken an anti sickness. I ended up just laying in one position on the sofa with my eyes shut trying to cope it out lol. Feel a lot better this morning.
I ended up only being awake for six hours yesterday so quite possibly @MrBigsCat My fibromyalgia likes to flare up and give me copy cat illnesses when stuff is going on in my body or I’m stressed so could also be that.

EmberR · 21/06/2025 13:28

hope everyone is feeling ok today. I have my cousin visiting with her newborn. Bit worried I will just bawl my eyes out… although my DS is making me laugh as he keeps telling me babies are sooo boring 😆🤣

TheFutureIs · 21/06/2025 18:56

That sounds difficult, hope you managed to enjoy the newborn snuggles. Hopefully your turn next
