Hi all ☺️ I am now starting Cycle 6 TTC baby number one. I know some of us on January thread said it would be good to set up a Feb thread so thought i’d start it.

I should be ovulating around 17-18th so will be testing on 1st Feb!

@Tia22 @Orangelover I keep seeing it portrayed in TV shows or films or books, where the woman has sex one time and boom, they're pregnant. (And of course, it takes a missed period and suddenly running to the bathroom to puke to realise they are!)

Where are the main characters analysing every symptom, and taking a test before they're overdue a period?!

Completely agree!!
That's what we want to see!! 😂😂

It's so annoying isn't it xx

@carolinep3 how did you get on at your acupuncture? Did they recommend regular sessions? That’s interesting regarding relaxation over TWW but makes complete sense! Early testing definitely adds to the stress so sounds like a good plan. Hope you get on well at your progesterone test too 🤞 it seems like things are moving along for you which is really good x

It was really insightful thanks. Hoping it helps with implantation being 5dpo today. I really think the last session lengthened my cycle and pushed my ovulation back which is so much better for egg quality.
Just spoke to one of my best friends about everything too and she said she thinks reflexology helped her conceive.
I do think there is something to br said for holistic health.
So many people are trying to push their own agendas - gps are not clued up with fertility, they have so much they have to deal with that isn't their specialty. Fertility clinics have definitely been shown to sometimes push towards expensive IVF too early when there are so many other things that can help.
So many are looking at parts of the body in isolation and not at the whole body and how everything is linked.
The specialist has told me there is no point testing AMH at all, so I've saved myself £50'and sending my randox test back.

I can see an indent but it doesn't have any colour to it, how many DPO are you?

Sunshine924 · 01/02/2025 17:46

@AlbatrossSociety @Kateb149 ok maybe that is best! We've had a party all day for my son's birthday so no chance of sneaking away!! Will have to persuade DH tonight! They don't leave until Monday so think we just have to get on with it tired and with company in the house or not! 😅 Might do another opk anyway though just to see

Just wishful thinking I think, when I’ve looked again at the actual test I can’t see anything. Well my cycle seems out of whack this month and I got my strongest ovulation line on CD22 which is why AF is late I think x

carolinep3 · 01/02/2025 18:31

Your luteal phase should stay the same, so if you ovulated cd23 you can count on how many days your luteal generally is and try and see when af is due? You
Might just be too early x

carolinep3 · 01/02/2025 18:45

Someone please stop me, I'm being ridiculous and looking at maternity clothes online? Filling my hypothetical basket 🙈🙈

bramarcan · 01/02/2025 20:21

@carolinep3 omg no, I've found myself looking up pregnancy yoga near me and prenatal classes! It's hard not to daydream about the future - maybe it's manifesting? 😅

TTCFC91 · 01/02/2025 20:55

I got pregnant last July, unfortunately had a misscarriage at 9 weeks. I had symptoms 1 week after having sex that time. I was so surprised, as all the symptoms were my usual PMS. I'm one week after having sex and I'm having what I think could be pregnancy symptoms. Tender breasts, dizzy, sensitive to smell, cramps, emotional and extremely tired. I was tracking my ovulation with clear blue ovulation sticks I had many days with flashing smiley face but no solid smiley faces. Could I be pregnant?

I’m so glad it’s going well for you, how long have you been doing the acupuncture for now? Did you notice changes straight away? I have been tempted to go for a session for a little while now, I know my circulation isn’t the best and that in Chinese medicine, they recommend acupuncture to improve flow to the uterus. Totally agree that GP are too stretched to understand fertility and what we can do to help ourselves. Thanks for your insights ☺️

I've only had two sessions. After just one session I saw positive changes in my cycle.
Can be a bit pricey but she has recommended twice a month, once in follicular phase one in luteal.

Soooo AF hasn’t showed up today… it has come the evening of 12DPO every month for the past 6 months. But this cycle seems so different 🤷🏼‍♀️ I took a test but still BFN so i’m joining the confused club 😅

Oh how annoying for you @Kateb149 , is there any way you could have ovulated later?

It’s possible but my LH levels definitely dropped after my peak like they usually do… I was worried that I hadn’t ovulated this month as I had no EWCM and I’ve barely had any PMS symptoms (compared to normal). But I have been eating a lot better and changed supplements so maybe that’s why!

I have looked at acupuncture sessions near me and they aren’t cheap here either but they do seem worth it! Do you know how long your ovulation was delayed by?

carolinep3 · 01/02/2025 23:41

I went from cd13 for the last 6
Months to cd17, which is apparently so much better and more healthy for egg quality. It means the follicles had
A few more days to properly mature.
I'm really hoping it helped with the spotting too, but only time will tell this week!

Sunshine924 · 02/02/2025 07:05

@Kateb149 sorry to hear about the BFN but strange AF hasn't showed up.
So I've still had no sign of peak either last night or this morning. We didn't DTD last night as we're just exhausted after the day. Feeling a bit low this morning worrying I've missed it (not sure if tests can sometimes not detect it?) or not going to ovulate at all. Sort of discounting this month now in my head. Though last month we DTD every other day for about 10 days and that didn't work either so who knows!

Thomsonetthompson · 02/02/2025 08:15

Hi all! I was on the January thread but avoided this one to try and stop my whole month being consumed with TTC (not that it worked).

Sorry to see so many confusing cycles! Such a mindfuck.

I'm 12dpo, with AF due on Tuesday. I took a test at 10dpo and saw a really really really faint colourless line so decided it must be an indent/evap/wishful thinking. Now 12dpo I took another test and there's another faint line, slightly more visible. It's too faint to show up on a photo (though my phone camera is terrible). How do I know if it's a faint line vs evap?? I know I can wait another day but that's too hard!

Thomsonetthompson · 02/02/2025 08:17

@Kateb149 no AF is a good sign regardless of the tests! Will keep my fingers crossed for you.

@Digby86sorry I can't delete your name from this box for some reason!

I've no idea how true that is about ovulating later being better quality etc as I've never looked into it, but I wouldn't be too concerned, we conceived DS when I ovulated day 11.

Matildahoney · 02/02/2025 08:44

Good luck to those of you waiting on AF

Wow that’s a huge difference, and definitely good for those follicles! Fingers crossed you carry on seeing the improvements and get your BFP 🤞

Sorry to hear you still haven’t found your peak. It might be you have a rapid surge and it has already been or is still coming… if you can DTD every few days i’m sure that will cover you anyway but I know what it feels like when you don’t want the month to be written off x
