Hi all ☺️ I am now starting Cycle 6 TTC baby number one. I know some of us on January thread said it would be good to set up a Feb thread so thought i’d start it.

I should be ovulating around 17-18th so will be testing on 1st Feb!

It’s very unusual for me to be late, I’m usually a day or so early if anything. But I got positive ovulation test on CD22 so I’m guessing that why AF is late, the only thing I have changed is taking the sevenseas vitamins so I reckon that has thrown my cycle out a bit xx how are you feeling today?

Oh of course, it probably is the Sevenseas to blame then! How long is your luteal phase normally? I’m just thinking if you ovulated CD23 you might be able to work out when AF is due now?

I’m feeling a bit better, and feel much calmer after talking about my worries with DH yesterday. I’m crampy today so I know AF is likely to come tomorrow, just hoping it comes when expected x

@Kateb149 sorry to hear you think AF is on the way. It sounds good to start looking into some tests. Only Cd11 here its dragging already. Nothing yet on the OPKs was really hoping to get a smile today as we managed to DTD last night! Getting a bit impatient for ovulation now

I'm 3 DPO and are gonna enjoy a glass tonight at dinner with friends. Someone said drink til it's pink and I love that because u still want to enjoy life even when TTC. If you drink a lot and get really drunk though I think it can affect the inplantation, that's what chat gpt told me. 🥰

Yeah that’s what I’m worried about is it affecting implantation. I think I’ll just take a few

The start of the cycle after AF had finished always drags doesn’t it 😅 hope you get your peak soon 🤞 just keep up with the BD for now 😂

Is there a time of the cycle that doesn't drag?!?! The whole process feels like just waiting for various things to either happen or not happen 😅.

Sunshine924 · 31/01/2025 18:51

@AlbatrossSociety this is so true! Where are you in yours?

@Kateb149 will try too 😅 I feel like yesterday doesn't count unless I ovulate early now without knowing it but then you never know!

I think about 2DPO? I'm not a hundred percent sure when I ovulated because I don't do OPKs or BBT or anything. I had EWCM last Friday, then nothing, then had it again on Tuesday and Wednesday. So not really sure! My app says AF due on 12th Feb

Sorry if I've missed some of the messages but this is what I'm worried about too.
Boy I really would love a drink after this week and we are at the coast this weekend for a change of scenery as it's the 1st anniversary of losing my husband's Dad AND ovulation should be happening this weekend of course .... While we're away for this and with the MIL!!
Not sure whether to risk having a couple of drinks or not? But I do always feel it's the one positive of it not happening xx

Sunshine924 · 01/02/2025 08:50

I've carried on having a drink or two - I don't drink much but do have a glass of wine on a Friday and Saturday night. I was wondering about not having any after ovulation / when I get my peak but not sure theres enough evidence it makes much difference (welcome others telling me there is though!)
CD12 here and no sign of peak yet. Getting a bit anxious I'm not going to get one and not ovulate. I know there is time yet but I had EWCM on cd27/8/9 and nothing since!

Thank you!
I had carried on drinking too but this year decided to cut back on alcohol and caffeine.... Overthinking it I think? I hope! It is actually probably needed to try and relax and I've had the advice before 'just get drunk and it will happen!'

Bless you, it's so so hard isn't it. I don't understand why it is so complicated and difficult?!

Another question, sorry everyone - I got ovulation tests off Amazon, I've used them before and they seemed to work but this pack I haven't had one line, faint of anything and I've had ewm and like I said should be this weekend? So they should be at least faint by now?! Has anyone had experience of this before could it be a faulty pack? xx

Kateb149 · 01/02/2025 09:06

Morning all ☺️

@Tia22 @Sunshine924 @Lemoncello823 on the drinking front… I don’t think having a few drinks will hurt. Obviously binge drinking or drinking in excess is never good 😅 but we have to take the little joys when we can! Obviously this is anecdotal but I drink very rarely and my DH never drinks and we’re not pregnant so it hasn’t helped us 😂

@Tia22 do you know which brand of tests they are? Sorry I can’t help much but I know I had the same worry before and thought I had a faulty pack, but then LH sky rocketed a few days later so I must have just ovulated late that month! Xx

OP posts:
carolinep3 · 01/02/2025 09:08

Morning. I think it depends on the brand sometimes. My LH doesn't follow gradually getting darker. One day it is light, then boom, peak.
Sitting outside waiting for my fertility acupuncture this morning. Hoping it can help encourage implantation!! 🤞

Tia22 · 01/02/2025 09:30

@carolinep3 Thank you both for this advice !! I will keep doing it just in case. I do have longer cycles, normally ovulate around day 22 and am on Day 21 now. They are One Step Ovulation Test? In a green packet. @Kateb149 I'm going to enjoy a nice drink tonight too, thank you - you get in your head a bit don't you!!

Also @carolinep3, how exciting! I really hope it goes well!! Let us all know and fingers crossed xx

Yeah i think you should all enjoy a few drinks , i know just anecdotal but my first was conceived and was unknowingly early pregnant amidst a wedding and then a big night out for a birthday!! But barely drink these days and struggling tc this time round! Its such a balence between wanting to be as healthy as possible for implantation etc but also enjoying life as well until seeing that BFP.xx

I have never used those ones but keep going, it might just be a bit later this month. The month I wasn’t getting a positive LH test I panicked and had a meltdown and my DH bought me the Clearblue ones in an effort to help 😅 so I completely get your worries but you should be fine. Enjoy your drink tonight ☺️ xx

Aww that's really lovely of him! I am tempted to get those ones, would you recommend? I haven't actually tested for over 6 months as I got a bit obsessed and then fed up 😂😂 So will see how it goes, thank you again xx

curliegirlie · 01/02/2025 10:51

LH rises/peaks can really vary. I don't know whether it's age related but I used to have a much slower build up/longer peak - In my FF charts from my daughter sometimes I recorded two days in a row of positive OPKs. However, over the past 3 years I've found that I very rarely catch my LH peak and it can go up and back down again in a matter of hours. So much so that if I get anything much above a 0.2 on PreMom it's probably my surge and I mark it down as a positive. And lo and behold AF rocks up 13 days later!

Sunshine924 · 01/02/2025 10:55

Thanks for the thoughts on drinking - I think you are right that if it's in moderation it's ok as you say we need to enjoy life whilst we are TTC!
I've had more EWCM this morning (more obvious than I usually get!) is it worth doing an opk again this evening? I don't know if I should or just wait for the morning? I don't want to miss my peak (and with the in laws here I need to be strategic about BD as can't just go for it anyway!)
@Kateb149 how are you doing today?

Okay someone more knowledgeable might well pop along with better thoughts but my thoughts would be go for it when there's lots of ewcm as its job is to help sperm get to the right place so it can be released when ovulation happens, and as it can survive for a good few days I think it should be there? Is there a chance of doing it today and tomorrow? When are inlaws leaving?

I would recommend the Premom ones which you can get on Amazon or the clearblue ones are good but more pricey ☺️
Oh i’m exactly the same, i’ve definitely got a full obsession so I think I’m going to stop testing this cycle xx

I’d recommend the same as @AlbatrossSociety and get BD when you can sneak away 😅 even without a peak LH test, EWCM is a really good sign. If it was me I would test this evening just because I know my LH goes up throughout the day on my peak day… but you know what’s best for your own cycle.

I’m doing okay thank you ☺️ AF is due this evening (it always starts later on in the day) and I feel like i’ve just accepted that it’s coming and we’ll try again next month. I’ll be ovulating around Valentines weekend so hopefully we can make the most of the romantic time 😂 x

Caved and tested on what I think is 11 or 12dpo and not a whiff of a line so awaiting AF on Tuesday ish and we'll go again!

This was my first month tracking properly (after some months of just going natural with no contraception) therefore I can't be disheartened yet.

It does make me wonder though how on Earth all these people I know who have had accidental pregnancies or conceived as soon as they've clicked their fingers do it!

Mumzydarling12 · 01/02/2025 12:41

Hey ladies! 4dpo for me according to my app, although I think I may be 6dpo taking into consideration I was having ovulation symptoms a couple of days before what my app was telling me…. Any way I am already symptom spotting!! 😳😂 my boobs are very sensitive today which I don’t normally get before AF but perhaps cycle is different again this month, I’m sure we all
know how much our bodies like to play tricks on us! I’m also feeling nauseous on and off today…. Praying to god it’s an early symptom and not a nasty bug hitting our household! I certainly feel a bit off. I said I wouldn't test early this month but if symptoms carry on next few days I may have to cave! It’s the tww that kills me I just want to know now! 😂 will keep you all updated and crossing my fingers for us all this cycle ☺️x

I completely agree though, I always say that about one night stands etc, how does everything line up so perfectly?!
We've been trying for so long now and I've got friends who got married and just fell pregnant straight away. It is really hard xx

carolinep3 · 01/02/2025 13:35

I would say you know your own body. EWCM is a sign you are fertile, can happen for upto 5 days in some people, but for me for example I only get a small amount and know that is peak day or before.

I don't think age has been proven to affect how long a peak you get through, I was 29 when I had my first baby and 37 now and still have upto2 days of peak. I like the clear blue ones but it is expensive and they don't sell refills, which is crazy! But the easy@home strips have always lined up with the more expensive, and you can test multiple times a day if needed with those.
Had my acupuncture and she was telling me that the tww is all about relaxation, you want your uterus to be relaxed and inviting not stimulated or affected my stress etc as much as possible. So I'm not testing early, it won't change anything, trying to stay optimistic!

I have my progesterone test on Monday and Wednesday, in one days I'm happy all is fine, but then if there is a problem at least I know how to fix it and it would explain the infertility so far!
