Hi all ☺️ I am now starting Cycle 6 TTC baby number one. I know some of us on January thread said it would be good to set up a Feb thread so thought i’d start it.

I should be ovulating around 17-18th so will be testing on 1st Feb!

@Digby86 I think it's probably because you're starting to get your life back, where for us we're still in the early ish days, so it won't be so much of a change, although DS is an amazing sleeper so were all going to struggle if #2 isn't!!

Digby86 · 30/01/2025 09:20

I hope this isn’t insensitive (maybe skip over my post if you’re feeling a bit delicate today)…

but for those who are ttc #2 do you ever have a wobble over whether you’re doing the right thing? This is the first cycle we’ve been actively trying (though haven’t used contraception since our son was born) and I was convinced it was the right choice when we made that decision. Now I’m in the “could actually be pregnant now” camp (though obviously not really expecting it to happen first cycle) I’m doubting myself. I don’t remember feeling like this the first time - I just wanted to get pregnant, was happy when it happened and never looked back! I think I’m worrying about the impact on our son, going back to newborn days when we’re in such a good place now etc. Is this normal??? Or should I maybe pause ttc if this isn’t our month. I’m a bit confused

All the time! My DS is 2 and I always wonder if it’s the right choice but I know he will love a sibling as is crazy about his cousins. I loved my siblings growing up too. I think it’s natural to feel some sort of guilt because you feel like your replacing them or the attention won’t be on them the same, but you’re expanding your love and growing your family. I’ve seen a few tik toks which help, showing how if you include your first with letting them help with the baby etc how it can help include them so they don’t feel left out. I keep thinking I’m going to give my DS a friend :) x

I’ve heard good things about the hertility tests. Think they’re about £150.

Thank you, i’ve looked at them before and have been very tempted to order the tests. I think i’d just want to have a scan done too x

carolinep3 · 30/01/2025 10:17

@Kateb149 no the test I have is from screenMe, it was advised to me by the fertility expert I am seeing.

@Room4onemore LH can fluctuate slightly after ovulation, yours isn't positive on the later strips so I wouldn't worry.

@Digby86 yes I can sometimes feel like this too, i am out of the toddler stages and life is easier so it was a hard decision to go over about having another one, as I do find the newborn time hard. I also feel bad as I feel like I am putting life on hold for my older children (not going on holiday and making those memories with them etc).
Now it is taking so long I feel guilty for those feelings and for taking so long to make a decision about ttc again.

Almost half way through the 2ww, this is dragging! I can’t help but symptom spot every tiny thing aswell. What were your earliest symptoms with previous pregnancies for those who have had children before?
My biggest sign is usually veiny boobs so ive been constantly checking😂

Mummy1502 · 30/01/2025 08:33

Ok false alarm, I’m pretty sure its just the pee line, not long woke up, my heart sank then xx

Sorry to hear @Mummy1502 its so disappointing isn't it. I also got a BFN this morning so will enjoy a large vino tonight and wait for AF this weekend. Hoping for a Valentines baby! ❤️

becksxx · 30/01/2025 11:29

Kateb149 · 30/01/2025 07:58

Morning all, I took a test with FMU this morning at 10DPO and got a BFN so I think i’m out. AF is due on Saturday.

I feel like now I’m past the 6 month point I want to see if anything is preventing us from getting our BFP so I’m looking into some private tests. Are there any tests people would recommend?

Sorry you got a negative test :( although keeping my fingers crossed for you if AF still hasn’t arrived! I’m 2 days late now but have the usual pms symptoms, I’m sure my body’s playing tricks on me as I’m never usually late, a day or two early if anything x

Thank you, sorry your body seems to be playing tricks. Have you taken any tests yet? Hopefully if AF is coming it turns up soon so you’re not kept in limbo x

Half way club tooo 🙌🏼🙌🏼

im totally same symptom spotting which is silly because when pregnant with dd we were not actually trying so didnt test until a good 8 days after period was late and twigged!

September had a CP ending at 5 weeks and defo had low level nausea from just before period was due and really sore nipples. But so hard to tell whats just normal pre AF when you are looking for signs! xx

justbelieve · 30/01/2025 12:47

@Digby86 Absolutely - it’s a normal and valid feeling. I have moments throughout my cycle where I’ve had a tough parenting moment and I’ve thought do I actually want another one? Or how will I juggle my time? Etc.

Every time I’ve gotten a BFN TTC #2 I’ve been absolutely gutted, so I know that they’re just wobbles again. They’re still valid feelings, but for me I know deep down that I want my DS to have a sibling and experience the joy that will bring our family.

Give yourself space to feel however you feel and don’t feel too guilty or be too hard on yourself 🫶🏻

Do you think you will test before AF is due? Ive ordered some strips off amazon but trying to hold off testing until Monday at least

EllieWales · 30/01/2025 13:41

@Kateb149 there’s still time, fingers crossed for you!

@Digby86 I change my mind daily especially when my 2 year old is being difficult (which is about 95% of the time at the moment!). I know I would regret it at some point later on if I didn’t have #2 and the disappointment I felt when AF arrived this morning confirmed that. The thought of doing it all again still really freaks me out though!

@confusedmum25 My first was a surprise so I can’t say I noticed anything early really except some spotting 2-3 days before AF was due and then BFP after AF didn’t arrive. The veiny boobs came later for me 😂 I spotted every symptom going this cycle before AF arrived and was absolutely convinced I was pregnant. You just never really know until it’s confirmed I guess! Hope you get the outcome you want

I read something that it’s to do with people being busy and not sticking to their usual routines/food/drink etc. over the Christmas period. So it puts your next cycle out of sync! Not sure how true that is but it would make sense.

ah yes definitely, I’ve also this month started the seven seas preconception vitamins which I read online can cause changes in your cycle to x

That might be it as well! I stopped taking the Proceive ones this month and it’s definitely made a difference x

are you taking individual vitamins instead? Is so which one are you taking? I’m thinking of changing the ones I’ve been taking if it’s going to mess with my cycle xx

I probably will test from tomorrow 7dpo which is way too early but i just prefer to have BFN that COULD go positive rather than feel excited all week and still get a BFN at end , does that make sense 🤣

BerrieSweet · 30/01/2025 14:34

@Floralcat I get it! I'm exactly the same!🤭

Yes I am now - I take folic acid, Vit D, Omega 3 and CoQ10. I also take iron but that’s just personal preference I think. I honestly feel so much better this cycle which is why I thought I might be pregnant 😅 no sore boobs, no PMS acne, and my DH has been more moody than me 😂 xx

I'm CD25 out of 28 so I'd be surprised if I suddenly get a BFP. Only thing is I woke up at 2am needing the loo but didn't bother testing then, then my DC had me up at 6am and that's when I tested, so unsure if that urine sample would've been good enough. Have to watch and wait I suppose!

2 days late is encouraging despite the BFN, I try and tell myself you're not out till AF arrives.

carolinep3 · 30/01/2025 17:14

@becksxx the pregnacare ones messed with my cycle too, when I did some research I about ttc/pregnancy supplements I found lots of them contain fillers which aren't good for you. I was recommended the inessa ones, more expensive but don't contain all the filler ingredients.

@confusedmum25 have you had any symptoms so far? I’ve got myself into thinking I need to wee continuously past 24 hours but im like what if ive got a UTI from fertile week bd 🤣 also shooting pains breasts and niggling pain left side by pubic bone. But i know literally all of those things could be just normal pre period as well 🙈
