Hi all ☺️ I am now starting Cycle 6 TTC baby number one. I know some of us on January thread said it would be good to set up a Feb thread so thought i’d start it.

I should be ovulating around 17-18th so will be testing on 1st Feb!

Morning all, I took a test with FMU this morning at 10DPO and got a BFN so I think i’m out. AF is due on Saturday.

I feel like now I’m past the 6 month point I want to see if anything is preventing us from getting our BFP so I’m looking into some private tests. Are there any tests people would recommend?

Sorry to hear ❤️ Your HCG levels maybe just too low atm, there's still hope if your only 10 DPO🫶🏼

sorry to hear that @Kateb149 but still crossing my fingers for you next couple of days still time 🤞🤞

could you go to GP and see if they will do basic bloods check hormones and thyroid etc? Ive heard on here they can do that before you hit the 1 year TTC mark xx

You’ve still got time, not out yet, with our mmc I actually didn’t get a positive until the day after my period was due, but yes I’m looking into everything now as after over a year and a half trying I feel like I’ve lost hope, feel very deflated this morning and af in full force, can’t believe how different this cycle was and still no bfp, I think I’m going to order the premom ovulation tests and track this month, I know a lot of people track temp but I’ve never done that, also I’m going to order the ubiquinol as after reading a lot of threads in here it seems to work, even for some who are going through ivf, why can’t I just get a bfp xx

Thank you ❤️ I just of just feel it in my gut that it’s not going to be positive this month if you know what I mean.

The premom strips are great, i’ve been using them since August and can’t fault them so hopefully they help you track things. I haven’t done BBT before either but I don’t think it would work for me as I don’t always sleep very well.

I really hope with tracking and the added supplements you see some positive changes. It’s normal to feel deflated but it doesn’t make it any easier does it xx

I used to track before but I gave up, yea just feel emotional and so tired, my periods drain the life out of me, I might have to ask the husband to start supplementing too, as it is both of us in the boat, I could be thinking it’s me when it could well be his swimmers xx

Kateb149 · 30/01/2025 08:28

Thank you @Floralcat @BerrieSweet @Sunshine924 I will test again on Saturday if AF doesn’t show but you know when you can kind of just tell it’s not going to be positive?

I’ll take it easy today and i’m actually seeing the GP about something different so i’ll see if there is anything they can do. I discussed the private tests with DH last night and he seemed happy to do them which was reassuring. Wishing everyone the best for those who haven’t ovulated yet or in TWW xx

OMG OMG OMG YOU A NOT GOING TO BELIEVE THIS! I’ve just got a faint positive! God sake so I’m assuming it’s a chemical, why did I bother taking the test, will try upload a pic xx

Mummy1502 · 30/01/2025 08:33

Ok false alarm, I’m pretty sure its just the pee line, not long woke up, my heart sank then xx

@Kateb149 I take these women probiotics.
Ask your GP for some basic bloods, make sure they do things like Ferritin as without going to a fertility expert neither me or the GP would of had a clue, and mine is quite low which can affect fertility.
I'm having a private microbiome test too, I ordered one and will do

Mummy1502 · 30/01/2025 08:35

Yep I’ve put my phone light under it, looks like the pee line not a control line, phew, I would have been even more upset if it was a chemical, onto the next month I spose xx

Matildahoney · 30/01/2025 08:37

@Kateb149 when we were TTC #1 we went for private tests, £150 they tested DH sperm count, motility, quality, my egg count, quality etc, well worth every penny, until they call you back and say there's absolutely no reason for you to be sat here not pregnant! Then they suggest a hycosy which I fell pregnant while waiting for it! I think cos I relaxed knowing I was having that done, didn't track or anything and we were really busy the time we conceived.

Thank you, i’ll see if they will add that onto the blood test. I take iron supplements every day anyway as i’ve been anaemic before and I do feel like my energy has improved since taking them so I might have been low.

Did you order the Daye test by any chance? I’ve been looking at it for a while and i’m so tempted to order it.

Thats really good to know, thank you. I’m looking at the same sort of tests but the clinics local to me are charging around £600 which is the only reason I haven’t had them done already 😅 but it would give me a massive peace of mind I think, I don’t think my stress levels are helping at all!

@Kateb149 sorry to hear about your BFN. I’ve got my fingers crossed for you 🤞🏻

I’ve been reading a lot into food and how that impacts fertility, the Food for Fertility book by Lily Nichols is really interesting. I’m only 150
pages in, but I’m enjoying learning about how it impacts your body, and the requirements your body needs to support TTC! If nothing else, it just keeps me busy and I love learning new things anyway! One thing I think I’m going to include in my diet is liver

Thank you, that sounds really interesting I might have to buy it! I have been reading a lot into nutrition too and have massively upped my protein and veg/fruit intake. I have greek yoghurt with chia seeds for breakfast as well as apparently seeds are great and as women we need healthy fats? But i’d love to learn more!

Oh wow that's insane! NHS testing would have taken too long for us to wait and they only do the basics.
It took 6 months for us to conceive DS and it took 6 months to conceive that ended in MC prior to that, so I'm expecting similar this time, although I should be more fertile as DS is 13 months

Room4onemore · 30/01/2025 09:10

3dpo and my test has gone up slightly, surely it can’t rise again as I’m CD18

Sorry to hear that a few of you have had AF arrive/BFNs. Hope you can take some time to be kind to yourselves and get some rest. It’s not the best time of the month, even without the disappointment that comes when you’re ttc.

im cd24now. No idea of dpo as app predicted ovulation at cd13 but I still had EWCM cd16 so think it was later. I’d guess 7dpo maybe. I’m not an early tester so wil wait and see if af arrives next week. Been getting a bit of cramping and lower back pain the last day or two, which I don’t think I usually get. But also probably don’t usually pay much attention (an also currently sleeping on my son’s floor so could just be the effects of that 😂😂😂).

That’s what i’m thinking… an NHS consultant has told me before I ‘might’ have endo which is why i’m a bit more focused on getting tests sooner rather than later.

Sorry to hear about your MC but so glad you have your DS now, hopefully it won’t take you as long this time round 🤞

I hope this isn’t insensitive (maybe skip over my post if you’re feeling a bit delicate today)…

but for those who are ttc #2 do you ever have a wobble over whether you’re doing the right thing? This is the first cycle we’ve been actively trying (though haven’t used contraception since our son was born) and I was convinced it was the right choice when we made that decision. Now I’m in the “could actually be pregnant now” camp (though obviously not really expecting it to happen first cycle) I’m doubting myself. I don’t remember feeling like this the first time - I just wanted to get pregnant, was happy when it happened and never looked back! I think I’m worrying about the impact on our son, going back to newborn days when we’re in such a good place now etc. Is this normal??? Or should I maybe pause ttc if this isn’t our month. I’m a bit confused

curliegirlie · 30/01/2025 09:20

Waaa, I'm a day or two 'late' (never usually get to 14dpo). Resolutely snowy white tests, so just wondering what the hell happened with ovulation this cycle?! I didn't catch my peak (but I do rarely do) but definitely saw a LH surge on CD15 which is normally a pretty good indicator for ovulation the next day. I hope this isn't peri-menopause rearing its ugly head....

I’ve heard good things about the hertility tests. Think they’re about £150.
