Hi all ☺️ I am now starting Cycle 6 TTC baby number one. I know some of us on January thread said it would be good to set up a Feb thread so thought i’d start it.

I should be ovulating around 17-18th so will be testing on 1st Feb!

Hey everyone! Our first month closely tracking and timing intercourse as we have just been going with the flow the last few months but obviously hasn't happened yet. What do you think my chances are? My cycles are still really long after coming off the pill a few months ago. I know last night would have been ideal too but don't want it to become a chore yet

Hiya ☺️ you got a lovely peak this cycle! And you DTD on peak day and the day before so you definitely would have had sperm there to meet your egg for when you ovulated! I hope the TWW goes quickly for you x

Thank you. Trying to not get my hopes up but I feel like it's going to go pretty slowly 🤣

Hi can i join? I’m doing a Letrozole ovulation induction cycle this month after 3.5 yrs ttc and I think I’ll be testing around 1 feb depending on when I ovulate !

BerrieSweet · 11/01/2025 14:24

Anyone else baby shopping for a baby that you're not even pregnant with yet? 😂

I always do this, and maternity clothes 🙈

BerrieSweet · 11/01/2025 14:44

@carolinep3 Hahah same!! I've discovered that I like to reward myself in the TWW with some baby-shopping because I'm good at waiting 😂

I’m so glad someone has mentioned this. I’m embarrassed to admit I started getting bits when I started ttc and obviously as it’s been a long time I have a huge amount of stuff. It’s almost become like a therapy and to keep myself motivated but I’ve got so much it’s embarrassing. I got upset before Xmas and nearly donated it all to a baby bank but dh told me not to give up yet

I’ve done this too I have 2 massive storage boxes under my bed with a maternity wardrobe for basically all seasons in 🤦

Kateb149 · 11/01/2025 15:01

@maple1234 it’s never an easy couple of weeks is it 😅

@Thewaitingseason welcome ☺️ I hope the Letrozole helps you this month! 🤞

I used cloth nappies with my first and ages ago bought a couple of gorgeous newborn ones. I've managed to control myself so far though, I have two good friends with newborns and one due in Feb so I just buy stuff for their babies. I actually find it a bit painful thinking about buying stuff for my not yet existent baby! Totally understand the urge though, I LOVE baby stuff

Thankyou. I’m feeling hopeful for the first time in a while ! My doctor thinks I’m a good candidate for Letrozole so hopefully finally I will get my bfp!!

Aaawwww I think buying baby clothes before baby is a hopeful and positive mentality. Nothing embarrassing about it at all. My sister and BIL got married and where ttc for 3 years or so with no luck. In that time my BIL used to baby shop in preparation even though the situation seemed hopeless he kept on going, expensive stuff too, cot, monitors, pushchair etc. 3 years later, they had a little girl, 10months after that, pregnant with a baby boy. The boy has turned 2 in oct 2024 and she’s pregnant with 3rd due in May. She waited 3 years and now she will have 3 under 5.

You attract what you think.

I think I may start doing the same - nothing wrong with manifesting.

🙂

BerrieSweet · 11/01/2025 15:30

@Thewaitingseason I'm exactly like you!😭 You know It's "too early", but at the same time it's a way of dealing with all the longing for a little baby 🥹 I'm glad you didn't give up and donate it! We're going to have so many cute clothes when our time comes 🥰🤞🏼

@AlbatrossSociety I totally get that feeling too, I can definitely feel like the baby wardrobe hurts to look at when I get that BFN, and the urge to babyshop reduces a little 🥹

I love that way of looking at it! That's smart of your sister and BIL as babies are expensive so when you get preggo you already have some stuff and It dosen't get as expensive 🥰 I will continue to baby-shop as a TWW therapy 😂

Last ovulation I didn't have the time to "marinate" after we DTD, because of lack of time. I peed directly after and this ovulation I want to try to chill a little afterwards even though some say that dosen't matter. What are your believs?

I’ve read so many different things! But I don’t think it hurts to ‘marinate’ so thats what I do 😅 I can’t hold my bladder for long so I probably get up after around half an hour.
The only thing that’s made me wonder is… I bought a ‘Fertilily cup’ and it says it increases chance of conception by 48% or something… and it says you need to leave it in for 20 minutes to an hour. I don’t know why it would suggest that long if you didn’t need to ‘marinate’? 🤔

So from what I've read or what I understand, sperm cells travel to the cervix within seconds of ejaculation so it shouldn't make much difference? I listened to a podcast the other day that if you have sex while you've got fertile cervical mucus but before ovulation, the cervix kind of holds the sperm, and then releases it in kind of waves when ovulation actually happens. So the idea being that you just want to essentially have sex multiple times leading up to ovulation so that there's plenty of sperm in the cervix when ovulation occurs. I think fertility friendly lubricants act as fertile cervical mucus and help keep the sperm alive and get it to the right place?

I imagine that the 48% thing is from a study funded by them and probably quite a small sample? But also anything that might help is good right!?

It was the infertility sisters on Spotify, how to conceive 101 or something like that I think. But I think there's so much info out there and it's all really confusing 😕

I have also read that apparently sperm gets where it needs to be really quickly, and the mucus can keep them alive whilst waiting for the egg! It is all so confusing 🤷🏼‍♀️😅

So strange… today i’ve had EWCM but i’m only CD9. I usually get this around CD12 and ovulate a few days after so this seems to be really early for me! Also getting a pulling feeling on my right side which ties up with ovulating in a few days. Not sure it’s a good thing if I ovulate on CD12! LH strips are still reading low x

There is just so much information out there it is hard to find your way sometimes isnt it!

carolinep3 · 12/01/2025 13:27

There definitely is! I feel
Some of it contradicts itself sometimes too!
I've just ordered the book 'it starts with the egg' apparently it is very informative.

BerrieSweet · 12/01/2025 13:59

@Kateb149 Yes I've read that too and then was confused why the fertility cup should work then?😅

@AlbatrossSociety Thanks for the interesting info!!😍

I guess It dosen't hurt to marinate if it makes me feel like i do something different from last cycle 😂
