35yrs + and trying ✨🫶🏼

I am now 37 and have one beautiful 10yrs old boy, my partner has 2 boys 9 & 13yrs.

I bought the Hertility kit online, not yet opened it… I was going to give this cycle my last attempt before investigating 🙃

We got pregnant a year ago but due to personal circumstances we both decided to not go ahead, this I carry so much guilt over 🪃

Now we are both ready and settled in our careers and home but now it has taken nearly 6/7cycles.

today I got my 1st + ovulation test, so beginning our January TWW.

what is everyone else’s story 🌟

Good luck and so sorry for your loss. I just finished my first post-MC cycle which was 29 days, so it's not guaranteed to be weird (at least not length-wise). It just feels devastating doesn't it?

I do remember in the dim and distant past that the 5 month mark when TTC DD1 was when I first started to get frustrated with the whole thing, so I do get it. But I just wanted to reassure you that that's a completely standard length of time to be trying for, even for couples with no issues at all. I think the only reason they say you can start investigations at the 6 month mark when over 35 is that because you're probably going to be less fertile than someone younger, it's less time 'wasted' if something is found to be wrong.

When will you start testing? Or are you holding out? 😁🫶🏼

telephone consultation with fertility Dr went okay, only a short one.
I have a f2f appt 5th June earlier they could get me in 🙃 to check my tubes and my OH sperm sample results will be then too.

It was just a background chat really.

We haven’t BD the last 3 days which is not like us at all but we have been exhausted with work! Hopefully tonight we will.
my Peak I assume will either be later today or tomorrow as it’s starting to get darker now, so not long behind you 🤭

I got my peak yesterday and today is the same!

BD last night 3/4day gap this cycle not over trying this cycle, probably BD-ing tonight too though 😂

Which tests are you using? I bought the clear blue ones and I used it for the first time today. It comes up as a smiley face on your surge day. But it’s interesting seeing your results. X

mone was 2 days ago only did the deed during my peak, don’t think I’ve covered this cycle, but wasn’t my plan to. We already have my sons bday nye and partners bday Xmas 😂
But only time will tell, I’d be happy regardless.
I bought the cheap ovulation strips off Amazon, you can take a photo of them and upload on the Premom app like above on the picture and it works out your levels and peak for you.

Hey @SCK2024glad your peak has been! I did a test yesterday and it was stark white 🥴 Not going to test now until AF arrives. I fell off my detox wagon but back on it today with strict eating, no alcohol and finding time for some self care! Xx

Are your cycles regular? When was the 1st day of your last cycle? I always find that the Feb month pushes everything back xx

Hope everyone's doing okay. I've had a sulky few months feeling a bit sorry for myself that we are now over the 1 year mark of ttc.

Get some off Amazon so you have plenty for when you run out, I usually peak @ CD 9 cycles are 22-25days

Thank you @SCK2024! I really didn't appreciate how much it would affect me mentally when we started this journey. I have a few days where I really feel it and then I get back to being positive again!

We're very close with our days, I didn't track last month but I'm fairly sure my app is right and it's saying 9dpo. I've had a few cramps today and twinges in my lower back throughout the day, which I don't usually get. I've been sleeping awfully too, but that's not a new thing for me unfortunately x

I have been ovulation testing since Friday 11th April - and no surge has been detected yet. 🙁 I am finding it quite concerning. I have 1 stick left from pack of 10… hopeful tomorrow could be the day. I’ve asked hubby to go out and buy some more tomorrow and I’ll continue testing until my period to be honest. Feeling quite disheartened currently, but trying to keep the optimism going.

What’s coming up for me at the moment is worrying that I’m infertile or have fertility issues.

@PalmTreeAngel what cycle day are you on? You have my sympathies, ovulation testing can be hugely frustrating when your cycles are outside the norm or occasionally play silly buggers. My cycles are pretty regular nowadays, but when I started TTC I had untreated hypothyroidism and so I ovulated once on CD146!! DD2 was conceived on a cycle when I ovulated once CD24 (so don't panic if you ovulate late).

And even in the past 3 years I've ovulated between CD12 and 20 (although CD 15 or 16 is my norm). This cycle I'm waiting to see if I ovulated on CD 7 or 8, as I had a very dark OPK on CD 6 so I may be joining @SCK2024 in a super short cycle (this is cycle 2 post MC, which may have messed things up slightly). I will continue to test OPKs though in case I get a second surge!

Taking BBT is also really useful to confirm a positive OPK.
