I am now 37 and have one beautiful 10yrs old boy, my partner has 2 boys 9 & 13yrs.

I bought the Hertility kit online, not yet opened it… I was going to give this cycle my last attempt before investigating 🙃

We got pregnant a year ago but due to personal circumstances we both decided to not go ahead, this I carry so much guilt over 🪃

Now we are both ready and settled in our careers and home but now it has taken nearly 6/7cycles.

today I got my 1st + ovulation test, so beginning our January TWW.

what is everyone else’s story 🌟

Aawwww how lovely! Yes, bitter sweet isn’t it at our age but I am sure everything will be absolutely fine! Please let us know who the NIPT tests go! X

Hey! We are trying to BD every other day but because he fell asleep night before last it’s wonked things up abit 😂😂 We’ve not long BDed today 😆 so think we’ve definitely given it enough chances this past week. My OPK was darker than the control panel first this morning so I’ve reached my peak I think. Will test again a little later. Just lying down for half an hour now to try and keep as much in as I can 😆🥴😂

Gosh your AF is short isn’t it @SCK2024do you bleed for 3 days and spot a bit for a few days after? At least it’s over now and you can get excited about ovulation approaching!

Are you! Small world! I’m in Nantwich! X

I can’t lie down for long which is why I got the fertility cups works magic, well to keep it in 😂

Yeh short cycles! 2/3 days and completely stops, 3rd day today and don’t need to use anything, lucky I suppose, always been that way, no changes.

So yes I’ll start OPK tomorrow 1.44! Very good and my god it’s dark!!!! I’m feeling very positive for you this month! 😁❤️🫶🏼

OH is off his night shifts now so good timing this cycle for when the fertile week comes 🫶🏼
Got the Fertility nurse calling me on Tuesday, haven’t a clue what she is I’ll ask? Does anyone know?

I reported the post the moment it happened in the hope it would go before most had seen it. So unkind.

I’m on day 34 with no peak still. Considering weaning again 😬. Or at least reducing feeds

BabyBorn · 03/04/2025 20:27

Ha ha @ can’t lie down for long! You would love the odd lie down if you had a 2 year old!! 😂😆

Yhats crazy about your short cycles though. Glad it’s always been normal for you!

brilliant that OH is more “free” next week for nookie! Ha ha. My husband came home this morning for the last try since my OPk was so high! Ha ha. Xx

BabyBorn · 03/04/2025 21:27

Thanks @Mismatcthat was good of you! Thanks!

Weaning? Do you mean stopping breastfeeding? How long have you been TTC?

@FenellaFurchester good luck with your NIPT. Was it just those trisomies that returned as high chance and not DS? That would spook me a bit too. We're all here for handholding once the results come in. I have to say I have no faith in the combined test and would request to be referred straight to the NIPT if I'm lucky enough to fall again. I was the 1 in 1900 for DS with DD1, and now I reckon I'd pretty much be automatically high chance due to the combination of her and my age, so I'd definitely have more faith in the NIPT numbers....

Thank you for the support ❤️ I would definitely recommend going straight for NIPT if you can to avoid the screening stress. I was so distracted with just hoping the baby was still growing and hoping my hematoma had resolved that the screening didn’t really cross my mind.

I’m high risk for DS too 1 in 66 but I’m not as scared of DS and also I can clearly see how the algorithm works in that one - I had low Papp-a last time which put me at 1 in 155 and the risk was dismissed by my midwife at the time (Papp-a seems to be taken more seriously now) and then the risk doubles due to my age at EDD so it’s easy to figure out the maths.

1 in 31 seems so high, even though that’s 97% chance it’s okay.

I’m just holding on to the scan being so good, baby had more than caught up from my late ovulation - went from EDD of 15/10 down to 7/10, both brain hemispheres clear on screen, even heart chambers fully formed. NT was 1.5 so baby’s info looks good, it’s all based on my hormones and age in the algorithm.

So I sometimes feel okay and optimistic then the next minute I feel like it’s hopeless and I should expect the worst. Or that my optimism is jinxing me somehow 🤞

Yes, I’ve got a 14 month old who is breastfed. Been hoping to get pregnant since she was born but no luck

Am I able to join in on this thread i had a mmc on 28th March baby was still only 5+4 but I should have been 7+4. Still waiting for my body to get back to normal. Just wanted to ask if there's any natural supplements I can take which could help me to get pregnant again, I was taking proceive conception vitamins previously before but wanted to know if there's anything else I could take. I've been having high alt liver levels for 5 years but my consultant said that was unlikely the reason I had the mmc. Im still really struggling mentally to get over this 😪

That must be really tough. Remember 28th March wasn’t that long ago and your emotions are still really raw.
I can’t help with supplements as I’m not allowed to take any atm due to my chronic illness.

Heard good things about folic acid.
sorry for your loss x

Playmobil4Eva · 08/04/2025 07:41

Hope everyone is well. Negative test for me today. Gutted as I felt exactly like I did when I pregnant with DD- though that was 7 years ago!

SCK2024 · 08/04/2025 10:24

@curliegirlie Hpw are you getting on? 🫶🏼✨

@Squibblypanda90 So sorry to here about your sad news in March, how are you feeling?

Still waiting on my peak OPK, nearly there I think maybe 1/2 days now.
Got the fertility appt today but it’s via telephone at 11ish xx

NIPT all clear 🙌 Thank you for everyone’s good wishes.

Happy baby dancing everyone, and when you get your BFPs either don’t bother with the combined screening or go straight for NIPT - it’s been such a horribly difficult week which feels like it wasn’t really necessary at all and I’m just exhausted with even higher blood pressure now 😂

BabyBorn · 08/04/2025 12:05

Aaawwwww that’s fantastic news @FenellaFurchesterCongratulations and enjoy the rest of your pregnancy! 🥰 xx

Eskimofo · 08/04/2025 13:40

Hi everyone! I’m 37 and we’re trying for our second. 5 cycles in and no successful pregnancy, had a chemical pregnancy in December ☹️ I had a c section with my daughter who’d nearly 11 months old so I’m a bit worried we’re having problems because of that. I was pregnant on the second cycle for my daughter!

Can I ask what happens at the first GP appointment to discuss fertility? I’ve got a telephone appointment on the 17th and not sure what to expect. Will I be referred for a scan to make sure nothings wrong after the section like adhesions?

curliegirlie · 08/04/2025 15:37

I wouldn't call 5 cycles indicative of problems - that's well within the norm.

The first steps are usually Day 4 (tests for various things, including thyroid function) and Day 21 (progesterone level) blood tests, semen analysis for your partner. Then transvaginal scan. Then, once we had the actual fertility appt, the consultant referred me for a hycosy and DH for a scan. However, I fell pregnant within a few weeks before we had a chance to go to those referrals!

I was TTC for 16 months (10 cycles - including one loopy 146 day one when I had thyroid issues) with DD1, 12 standard cycles with DD2 (with one CP 8 months in), I had a surprise pregnancy and early MC in March 22, 40ish cycles trying (with a CP in November 23), and finally got my BFP again last month, but sadly miscarried 3 years to the day of the previous one. My first post MC AF arrived a couple of days ago after a very confusing month when OPK weren't playing ball. I just have everything crossed that my luck will change and I get more long standing positive news in the next few months 🤞🤞🤞

Mismatc · 08/04/2025 16:04

I’m finally having an LH peak after a very long wait 🤞🤞🤞🤞. My bigger baby is 14 months and I still don’t really have my cycles back properly so I’m thrilled. I hope I have a chance now ☺️

Eskimofo · 08/04/2025 21:29

@curliegirlie I’m so sorry to hear about your losses, I really hope you have a successful pregnancy soon.

Thank you so much for the information, that’s really helpful. I know 5 cycles isn’t long so I need to tell myself that more often but I’m sure many people here will understand that it feels much longer when you’re trying for very much wanted baby. Hopefully the tests won’t flag anything up to be concerned about and my body is just waiting for the right time.

SophieP89 · 08/04/2025 22:49

Hi, thought I would join this thread, I'm 36, have a 6 (nearly 7) year old daughter and TTC baby number 2.
I sadly went through a mmc on 20th March at 8 weeks and we are back to tracking my cycle as it hopefully returns to normal soon x
