35yrs + and trying ✨🫶🏼

I am now 37 and have one beautiful 10yrs old boy, my partner has 2 boys 9 & 13yrs.

I bought the Hertility kit online, not yet opened it… I was going to give this cycle my last attempt before investigating 🙃

We got pregnant a year ago but due to personal circumstances we both decided to not go ahead, this I carry so much guilt over 🪃

Now we are both ready and settled in our careers and home but now it has taken nearly 6/7cycles.

today I got my 1st + ovulation test, so beginning our January TWW.

what is everyone else’s story 🌟

Guys, I started my period today. Sigh. Back to another try next month. I’ve decided to buy ovulation tests - does anyone have any experience using them? I don’t know where to start or how they work… 🤷‍♀️ 🤷‍♀️

Yes, I started using them with the app cycle just gone, really really helpful to find you peak as the app reads it for you and tells you.

we will be tracking the same my AF came yday so starting to opk on Friday my cycles are short and AF only lasts 2/3days always have done.

DH fell asleep last night 😂😂 but he woke up at 5.30 and knew he had a job to do! 🥴😆😂😂 He was very willing may I add! Ha ha. It has come around so quickly! Yes I added it on Premom and it read it as 55 so I should ovulate within 24 hours. I feel it every month when the follicle burst though 😩 so I will let you know when it happens! 😂😂

I don’t let me DH know any of this. He knows I’ve been on mumsnet for over 20 years 🥴 but has no idea that I post on here!! 😂😂 Lovely to have the support, especially at our age! Ha ha x

ive heard good reviews of the clear blue ones too - I know clear blue has a bit of a bad rep tho!!

You are welcome @PalmTreeAngel I haven’t used the clear blue ones if I’m honest, maybe someone else that has will come along and help. What I do know is that the clear blue ovulation kits are expensive!

The ovulation tests I’ve heard are good but very pricey, but depends what people think is pricey I guess. I’ve never used them so have no idea at all. Tho on cheat anyway because I feel ovulation so don’t really need to test, I just like to 😂😂🥴😂😂

AF has ended! So OPK testing starting tomorrow I think! Got a fresh batch 😄 Another NYE baby 🙃🫠😂 bet my luck this will be it haha!

I haven’t experienced clearblue tests much as heard lots about evaps… well with the pregnancy tests anyway and being expensive.

i did however by the battery smiley one when first starting out to get the smiley but the cheap strips and uploading them on pre mom shows your fertile window a lot more accurately!! The clear blue just show your peak only.

id suggest trying them as you have them, hoping you get lucky this cycle but if not use the cheapies and Premom app to get your full window running up to and after peak to get full coverage of BD and chances 🫶🏼✨

Hey! We are trying to BD every other day but because he fell asleep night before last it’s wonked things up abit 😂😂 We’ve not long BDed today 😆 so think we’ve definitely given it enough chances this past week. My OPK was darker than the control panel first this morning so I’ve reached my peak I think. Will test again a little later. Just lying down for half an hour now to try and keep as much in as I can 😆🥴😂

Gosh your AF is short isn’t it @SCK2024do you bleed for 3 days and spot a bit for a few days after? At least it’s over now and you can get excited about ovulation approaching!

Hi 👋 Im okay. Saw a gorgeous wriggly baby on my 12 week scan last week which was wonderful. Had the awful call that I’m very high risk for Edwards & Patau due to age, low papp-a (had in last pregnancy and he was fine), and HCG on the lower side of normal. Had the NIPT and just waiting and hoping for the best while feeling beside myself with worry (and in no mood for those vile pro-lifer ghouls who stalk the forums 😂)
