I am now 37 and have one beautiful 10yrs old boy, my partner has 2 boys 9 & 13yrs.

I bought the Hertility kit online, not yet opened it… I was going to give this cycle my last attempt before investigating 🙃

We got pregnant a year ago but due to personal circumstances we both decided to not go ahead, this I carry so much guilt over 🪃

Now we are both ready and settled in our careers and home but now it has taken nearly 6/7cycles.

today I got my 1st + ovulation test, so beginning our January TWW.

what is everyone else’s story 🌟

Hi girls, a bit of very early news....yesterday I got a squinter on a couple of Boots tests. I was convinced they were indents (particularly as I'd peed on rather than dipped the first one and it had got on the test window 🤦‍♀️) as I was only 9dpo and have never got anything this early before. Another slightly darker squinter this morning too. Obviously I'm being cautious and not getting my hopes up yet, but if it does all work out, it shows that sometimes, even after 3 years when you're a dinosaur of 42 there can be happy endings....

Congratulations, I ttc my daughter who's 11mo for 2+ years i know how draining it can be ttc for a lengthy time ♥️

And how equally hard it can be to accept a bfp when the right time comes and try to protect your heart at the same time.

Amazing news 🎊

BabyBorn · 21/02/2025 23:35

@SCK2024 yes it's better to try and forget about it all isn't it. Symptom spotting drives me crazy. I'm very in tune with my body so anything off usually happens by coincidence along side something else. 🥴

Hopefully your BDing will work then. I had one single shag all month once and I got pregnant! 😂😂

I'm not sure about the acupuncture working yet. I've only just started it 3 weeks ago. It's very time consuming. It's recommended you go twice a week to see successful benefits. I've been going twice a week for three weeks so far. Will keep you updated to if it works or not but I've read so many positive things about it.

Thought I had come on my period this morning 3 days early but it's only been browny/ pink when I wipe and died right down to nothing. It was only a smidge. No idea what that is about. I am supposed to be 11DPO today.

BabyBorn · 21/02/2025 23:36

Wow @curliegirlie! Good luck and very big congratulations!

@curliegirlie 🥰❤️🙌🏽 Congrats! Send us all some 🦖 👶 dust! 😌

@BabyBorn shagged 😂😂😂 not heard that term in a long time tickles me that did.

Does the acupuncture hurt? 😄

I am so laid back this month, although not trying to symptom spot but still unintentionally knowing what DPO I am and what my fertile window was, I’ll still use my Flo app and enter my symptoms daily.

This is my Feb Cycwl so far, hardly BD this fertile window but going with the flow 🌸✨

@babyborn my fertility acupuncturist hasn't advised me to go twice a week! I go twice a month and it has had a big impact on when I ovulate and hormones.

BabyBorn · 23/02/2025 17:49

@carolinep3 mine has advised twice a week. I go on Mondays and Fridays. I have a time frame on how long I am going to try for, so suppose she wants to try and really kick start everything. It's like anything, the more you go, the more you will benefit. I have also had two miscarriages in 7 months.

Hi everyone, my results of my "day 21" test are back but haven't actually spoken to the Dr yet.

Is there anyone on here that's had them done and can help me work out what the numbers mean before I speak to the Dr?

Yes I can. I had them done last month, are they on your NhS app?

Thank you, yes they are on the app yes.
It says my results are abnormal and I need to speak to the Dr, which I obviously will. But for right now I'm panicking about how abnormal they are if that's makes sense x

My serum oestradiol levels are 537 pmol/L

My serum prolactin was 655 mu/L

My serum progesterone was 37 nmol/L

All
Normal, and the progesterone level confirms you ovulated this cycle.

ByJollyZebra · 24/02/2025 19:26

Thank you, I'm so confused because on the first page it just says 'abnormal, need to speak to a doctor'.

My prolactin levels are "slightly raised" apparently so maybe that's why it's flagged it?

Thank you responding though, I'm feeling calmer now! X

This is what the nhs app states as normal

Mismatc · 25/02/2025 06:34

Hi, bit late but may I join please?

I’ve got a 12 and 11 year old with my first husband and a 1 year old with my current husband. Both men have no other children. I’m 36, breastfeeding and we have been trying since I had the baby but I’ve been obsessively taking ovulation tests for 6 months.

It’s been so difficult to decide whether to wean my baby so I can try for another one asap because of my age. However, I felt awful about the idea of weaning the baby in my arms for the prospect of an imaginary future baby who may never come.

I finally got my first LH peak on Saturday! But haven’t managed to DTD since. I’m hopefully 2dpo and have everything crossed that my cycle is returning or I could be pregnant. Breastfeeding and my age may make this impossible

BabyBorn · 25/02/2025 07:39

Hi @Mismatc and nice to have you on board.
I would say at 36 you still have plenty of time yet. Please don't wean your baby, your cycles should return to a more normal pattern pretty soon. I am currently trying for a 4th. I am 40 next month and still breastfeeding my 32 month old. I have gotten pregnant twice since breastfeeding but sadly miscarried both, but it has nothing to do with breastfeeding. My period returned when my little one was 11 months old and it took around 4 more months for my LP to lengthen. It was then pretty much back to normal. Enjoy breastfeeding your baby and carry on TTC. The more stress you take away from the situation the more likely and quickly you will fall pregnant again. It is also very encouraging that you already have 3 children and have conceived fairly recently. X

Morning girls 🌸
DPO 6 is it too early for any symptoms, I’ve been throwing up all morning and diarrhoea unless it’s a virus 🦠 ☹️

If you are sure of ovulation then yes, the earliest you can implant is 6dpo which would mean HCG wouldn't be high enough to cause any real pregnancy symptoms for around 48 hrs.

curliegirlie · 25/02/2025 13:35

It varies so much from person to person too. I never seem to have any particular symptoms or nausea in pregnancy, whereas my friend knew she was pregnant from well before 4 weeks due to how sick she was feeling. But I agree, 6dpo is too early for sickness to be pregnancy related.

Hi, I found this eariler was exploring something else and remembered someone talking about raised prolactin, I hope this can help?

Hi, can I join in. Can anyone give me advice? What i should do?
I took two clear and simple tests on Friday both positive that was three days before my af was due. I did two more clear and simple tests Monday day my af was due which were both positive and a clear and simple digital which said negative. I did another clear and simple test this morning again positive 1 day missed af. I spoke to a pharmacist today who said to get a clearblue ultra early test as she said that the clear and simple ones aren't accurate 😒. I haven't got a clue what to do as I've read mixed things maybe my hcg level is still low as I know the digital ones detection tests have a higher level of hcg needed. I've been experiencing tender breasts, cramping, nauseous, headaches and I had a very light brown spotting (only today).

Maybe like you said just low. Just get a different brand and test, not a digital.
Clear blue seem to be the main brand in the shops but if you have Amazon prime get a pink dye first reponse

Thank you for the advice, appreciate it. I'll do my clear blue ultra early tomorrow.

curliegirlie · 25/02/2025 19:35

I'd go for pink dye rather than blue, although if you're now late, CB et all are probably ok and you shouldn't have the is it a BFP, is it an evap ambiguity. Digitals can need a slightly higher HCG threshold. Although saying that I think the CB weeks indicator theoretically only needs 10miu for a 1-2 weeks reading. Good luck - sounds promising so far! You might be my due date twin - I was also due on yesterday!
