TTC in 2025!

Hi everyone, thought I’d make my first thread here to see if there’s anyone else planning to conceive in 2025? 🥰 I’m feeling so excited but also a little nervous as I have a cyst on my ovary. It doesn’t cause me any pain or symptoms but it’s being referred to as a suspected endometrioma so that causes me some anxiety! The gynaecologist told me I won’t know if it affects fertility until I try and he isn’t too worried. However that doesn’t stop my nerves! I really hope 2025 will be the year, I feel so ready to be a mum now. 🥹

My fiancé and I are planning to start TTC in April! Just started on my folic acid/vitamin d tablets and it’s starting to feel very real! Eek 🥰❤️ Anyone else in a similar position? I’d love to know any tips on how to best prepare my body in advance and any tips for my other half too!

I'm quite glad my fertile phase looks to be almost over. Neither of us particularly enjoy sex on a schedule 😂

EmCha · 27/02/2025 10:15

How is everyone doing? ☺️ 8 days until my next cycle which is the last one before we can start trying! I really shouldn’t be wishing my life away like this. 🙈

Hello everyone. Marking my place. Hubby and me are going to start trying in March, Im just ovulating now, so about 2 weeks time until my next period. Then we're going to try from that cycle. We already have one lovely DS who is 3.5 years! He was an unexpected miracle, I have endometriosis on my ovaries and my gynaecologist thought it would be hard for us to fall. But it happened completely randomly! No idea what trying this time will entail, but we're staying hopeful and positive 🫶🏻

jelliebean9 · 27/02/2025 10:23

Just reading back. I'm in West Sussex, so the south east too, @Wiggleyfingers, I think it was you that asked 😀

Wiggleyfingers · 27/02/2025 11:30

No way! I'm West Sussex too. Nice to have a nearby neighbour :)

SureLook · 27/02/2025 11:34

Hi all. I'm still waiting on my period to arrive. I've no idea when that will be but hopefully we'll be able to try TTC with you all soon 🤞🏻

SureLook · 28/02/2025 16:52

My period arrived this morning! I'm so delighted. I never thought I'd be this happy to see AF 😂

jelliebean9 · 28/02/2025 16:56

I am most definitely ovulating today, we have a big holiday in September for our son's 4th birthday. So I'm sitting out of this cycle. But hopefully be in with you all for ovulation end of march- all being well! ✨

Thisismeme · 28/02/2025 17:03

I’ve just had my first period after stopping my pill 6 weeks ago. We are not planning to start for another 6 weeks so I’m hoping to get to know my cycles better then

Wiggleyfingers · 28/02/2025 17:13

What app is everyone using to track their cycles? I had a high ovulation test on Sunday and a blank today, so I'm guessing I ovulated at some point this week! I have been so busy but hopefully will try and test more regularly this month.
We have a holiday booked for August and I don't want to be so pregnant that I can't enjoy it, assuming we fall quickly again (never taking it for granted, especially now I'm older!) so will see how we feel in April, but may hold off until May! We shall see how much patience I can hold onto...😂

I use Flo, but to be honest, my body is very reliable with ovulation pains and ridiculous amounts of EWCM, I can basically tell exactly the moment the egg pops out with the pain and the change in CM. I have endometriosis on my ovaries and the gyne wasn't hopeful we'd fall easily. So with a wedding booked, we just through caution to the wind and stopped using contraception. And of course because the timing wasn't ideal, fell pregnant on the first cycle. 28 weeks pregnant at our wedding! Which we'd already cancelled once due to Covid. And refused to move again. DS is now 3 💞I'm totally expecting it to be very difficult this time. But trying to be hopeful!

This gives me hope as I’ve been told my ovarian cyst is probably an endometrioma which makes me nervous about not being able to get pregnant. My EWCM is very, very obvious too so I know exactly when I ovulate. I use Clue which is very accurate for me. We are starting to try in April or possibly May depending on when my period is due as we are trying to avoid a December baby!

Hi all,

I ovulated earlier this week, just awaiting AF to arrive following a surgery for missed misscarriage. We get married on April 4th abroad, so depending how AF and ovulation fall we will either be TTC again from next cycle or in April 😊 Now it’s an option I want to be able to have a few glasses of champagne and enjoy some cocktails, don’t want to be due AF and her not appear and me have been drinking or having to test whilst away to know whether I can or not 😅!!

Ooh congratulations on the wedding! I think if I were you I’d wait until after the wedding so you can enjoy some drinks to celebrate! 🥳 🎉

Sorry to hear about your missed miscarriage x

Hi all, AF ended up arriving last month, so no news. I knew I had missed ovulation and we weren’t necessarily trying, but it was still a bummer i have to say. Anyway, i’m tracking ovulation this month using clear blue and cheap sticks and i got a flash on the clear blue today, so feeling excited to give it a proper go. Not long to go for you April ladies!

hopingfor4 · 03/03/2025 07:43

Hi all just joining you now we are ttc. Period finished Wednesday last week so should be ovulating around about now. It’s our first cycle of trying so haven’t become too serious about it yet - no ovulation tests etc. This will hopefully be our 4th (and final) baby, as we already have a 9year old, 6year old and nearly 4year old.

jelliebean9 · 03/03/2025 08:20

Hey everyone, question re ovulation tests. We never did these when I fell pregnant with my son. Genuinely just had a sod it moment because of cancelling our wedding during Covid and buying our first house was proving hard in lockdown. And obvs it just happened. This time though I'm wondering if I should use ovulation tests so I know when I ovulate? Is it useful or do you find it can be quite stressful? I worry I'd get obsessive 😂 when do you start using them in your cycle and how often do you test with them?

This is my first time testing and I’m finding it useful. But to stop myself obsessing, i’ve said that i’ll only test one cycle as hopefully from there I should be able to work out when ovulation might happen in other months. I started testing 2 days after my period (CD6), which is a bit early, but i wanted to be sure as i don’t know my cycle very well since coming off the coil. I was testing once a day using second morning urine. Clear blue has detected a rise, so i’m now going to test twice a day.

I find it quite stressful, but we have enough issues between us that will make it harder to conceive that it's worth the extra stress.

If you have regular sex anyway I'd probably give it a few cycles and then if you're getting impatient you can always do it then? They are useful, just depends on how likely you are to need them!

I've got period cramps...and I'm not due til Saturday. But it's 100% pre period cramps, unfortunately. So no idea if I'm in for multiple days of cramps before AF shows up (not unheard of, but rubbish!) or if AF is going to show early this month. I'm only 10DPO!

Pleasestopjumpingonthesofa · 03/03/2025 16:02

I should clarify - the OPKs themselves are not stressful, but I find TTC stressful and struggle to switch off from thinking about it. So doing the OPKs means there's no way I can't think about it at least temporarily, and then I tend to think about it aaaall day. The sticks themselves are easy and I've found it really interesting to see the graph!

Hope that makes sense. 😊

Thank you for that! I think I'll do as the previous poster suggested. Just do one month to try and get a grips on the right days. This mumma is too tired to be having sex everyday to try and catch it, so they'll hopefully help. My cycles vary from 24-28 days and ovulation pains and EWCM varies from a couple days to 10 days! So it should help 🙏🙏

I hope you're not in for a really shoddy time with AF this month if you're cramping already!

I think I've just finished ovulating. So 2 more weeks until the cycle we're gonna try from 🙏

Becitee · 05/03/2025 07:32

Morning Ladies, last time I left a message was around ovulation time I think. So Monday or Tuesday my period was due. Not shown yet and I haven't tested. I have a dull sensation but no period pains like I usually do when AF is approaching. I also get really bad sciatica a day or 2 before, but not currently.
I'm going to give it until the end of the week, as this week has been a hard week after loosing my dog on monday 😥so could possibly be delayed.

EmCha · 05/03/2025 11:54

So sorry to hear you lost your dog. 🥺

Ooh that sounds promising! Fingers crossed you get your positive.

My period is due in a few days and that will be my last cycle before we can start trying. 😀

So my period has just arrived 2/3 days early making my last cycle only 24 days! I’m quite concerned about it but I have just joined a running club and been pushing myself a bit, could this be why?

SureLook · 05/03/2025 21:00

It's a possibility @EmCha have you been incorporating rest days and eating well to fuel your sessions? Maybe talk to someone in your running group too.
