TTC in 2025!

Hi everyone, thought I’d make my first thread here to see if there’s anyone else planning to conceive in 2025? 🥰 I’m feeling so excited but also a little nervous as I have a cyst on my ovary. It doesn’t cause me any pain or symptoms but it’s being referred to as a suspected endometrioma so that causes me some anxiety! The gynaecologist told me I won’t know if it affects fertility until I try and he isn’t too worried. However that doesn’t stop my nerves! I really hope 2025 will be the year, I feel so ready to be a mum now. 🥹

My fiancé and I are planning to start TTC in April! Just started on my folic acid/vitamin d tablets and it’s starting to feel very real! Eek 🥰❤️ Anyone else in a similar position? I’d love to know any tips on how to best prepare my body in advance and any tips for my other half too!

Still BFN today 12DPO but I feel so rough... god knows what is going on! Feeling fine about the outcome either way tbf, the CP last month was horrible so at least it doesn't seem like I'll have to go through that again

Fingers crossed for you! 💜

So I’m tracking my ovulation so I have a bit of an idea when I ovulate and I’ve just caught my peak on the tests. It’s very exciting to see! 😂 It’s also reassured me about how in line I am with my body as I knew it would be today going off my other symptoms. I so wish I didn’t have to wait another few cycles! So ready mentally but for financial reasons, to ensure we get the best maternity cover from my job, we have to wait until April/May.

But look! Just had to share this! I’m on CD 14.

@EmCha thanks but AF arrived yesterday evening! Onto the next month...

Feeling ok about it but going to try and give it less headspace this cycle as feel I am slightly wishing my life away. I'm really struggling to find enthusiasm lol I don't feel obsessive just a bit like... hurry up! Cba with work or socialising 😂just me and my cat and reality tv!! anyone else?!

BabyS2025 · 25/01/2025 15:36

Exciting @EmCha!

So this is my first month on Proceive plus and my period was due today but hasn't appeared as yet! Wondering if it's delayed it (but I've also started exercising properly again this month so could definitely be that as well!) any thoughts?

BabyS2025 · 26/01/2025 12:25

Period came today - think 1 day 'late' is still within normal ranges! Think I said, we're not 'trying' until March earliest - getting fit and healthy and taking all the vits first! Adding ubiquitoul this month - waiting until I get paid so I can afford it!!

Aw I know the feeling of wishing your life away! I’m the same in that aspect, just thinking I wish April/May would hurry up!!

I’ve just started running, as of yesterday! My fiancé is a runner and has three marathons coming up this year. He puts me to shame haha so I decided to start trying to get fit. Something to motivate me until it’s baby time!

Sounds a good plan! My period varies from 26-28 days so wouldn’t worry. :)

Thanks @EmCha!

Getting fit sounds a good plan - can you remind me why you're waiting until April/May? Sorry if I missed something?

BabyS2025 · 26/01/2025 16:57

Oh just seen - maternity pay @EmCha! Makes sense

Do you mind me asking how old you are?

I’m 28. 29 in March ☺️ I only started in my new position in October so although I’d be entitled to something, we’d rather wait a few months and get the best option! I work for the NHS so they’re quite good with what they offer!

Hi all, can I join please?

We’re trying for baby #2. DD is 17 months but my period only returned 3 months ago. Cycle seems all over the place at the moment so bracing myself for it to take longer than it did with DD. We tried last month and are trying this month, but will then take a break till April/May. Think we might actually have missed ovulation so it’s nice to see others planning to try in the spring!

MakeMeJuno · 27/01/2025 11:56

Welcome @Cinnamonbunn how long did it take you to conceive your DD? 🙂hoping a smooth journey for you! We are the opposite - try until April, then a break over the spring/summer. this is baby no1 and I had a CP last month, then AF arrived a few days ago so here we go again!

Cinnamonbunn · 27/01/2025 12:30

@MakeMeJuno ahh wishing you lots of luck for your BFP before the end of April! Sorry to hear about your chemical last month, how are you feeling this cycle?

We started trying for DD October 2022 and had a positive December 3rd 2022. So incredibly quickly really. But I had text book 28 day cycles, ovulating CD14. I have 3 years of data on my body. So this feels completely different. I didn’t use OPKs like I did last cycle because I found it made me quite obsessive.

MakeMeJuno · 27/01/2025 12:38

@Cinnamonbunn sounds super encouraging then for your chances this time! I hear you about the OPKs... and the pregnancy tests lol I was so convinced I was pregnant I kept testing last week but nothing... feels weird now to not have anything to pee on lol

I feel ok - just impatient... trying to remember what I enjoyed doing before I decided I wanted to be pregnant 😂 For my work a September baby would have been ideal, but it is what it is. I found the CP much harder even though it was only our first month trying.

Thanks @EmCha how are you finding the wait? I was in a similar situation with trying for DD as I’d only just started a new job. In fact I think I may have created a post on here about it at the time asking for advice.

@MakeMeJuno I hear you! It can be all consuming once you decide you’d like to be pregnant. Waiting at the mercy of our bodies to get on board can be hard. Makes sense, it is a very sad start to your journey. Do you know when you will ovulate next? I already feel a bit anxious about the two week wait, I don’t have high hopes and I’d rather not test at all but I have a feeling I’m not going to manage that.

@Cinnamonbunn I think it will be around the 10th as I ovulate late - day 18-20 usually. Cycles are normally 31-33 days. I am finding it a little easier to distract myself this month - not sure what has changed, maybe making some spring time plans...

BabyS2025 · 01/02/2025 17:51

My ubiquinol just arrived! Just taken my first 600mg dose! Is that the right amount for over 35?

Thisismeme · 01/02/2025 20:05

Planning to start TTC in April but I’ve just stopped my pill in readiness. This is our second child and I swing between wanting to be casual and track things. Last time we used clear blue ovulation tests and something akin to pre seed

Cinnamonbunn · 01/02/2025 21:09

@MakeMeJuno It’s great you’ve been able to distract yourself a bit more this month. Hope all those spring plans are looking fun!

@Thisismeme we sound very similar, last month I was quite militant with the testing but this month I was much more casual around the testing. I still used preseed but I’m actually much more relaxed and not as tempted to test too early.

Thisismeme · 02/02/2025 07:09

@Cinnamonbunn I really want to be casual about it but equally know I’ll be annoyed that I wasn’t serious sooner if pregnancy doesn’t happen.
I was so relieved when ttc was over last time as I found it so stressful

I'm actually TTC already but just wanted to ask about the mat pay. Are you new to the NHS or have you moved from another role in the NHS? If you've moved from another NHS role with a less than 3 months break between roles, your continuous service should carry over so it doesn't reset in October. If you're new to the NHS, ignore me and you're right about having to wait until April. I was in a similar boat last year and even though I wasn't new to the NHS, I'd lost my continuous service as I'd left for a while and rejoined so was on the 6 months waiting train. It's only this month for me that I've become eligible for enhanced pay again.

Cinnamonbunn · 02/02/2025 13:51

@Thisismeme exactly this. My dream is to fall pregnant quickly while being casual (but isn’t it everyone’s!) I find it bizarrely stressful too but I get it into my mind that I’d prefer certain birth months, which I think puts a pressure on it.

This is literally me down to the preferring certain months to fit in better with my older child. Obviously I’m not counting on this and won’t skip months apart from March as my husband is adamant about avoiding a December baby. Ultimately I’d love to be casual but I just don’t think I can!
