TTC in 2025!

Hi everyone, thought I’d make my first thread here to see if there’s anyone else planning to conceive in 2025? 🥰 I’m feeling so excited but also a little nervous as I have a cyst on my ovary. It doesn’t cause me any pain or symptoms but it’s being referred to as a suspected endometrioma so that causes me some anxiety! The gynaecologist told me I won’t know if it affects fertility until I try and he isn’t too worried. However that doesn’t stop my nerves! I really hope 2025 will be the year, I feel so ready to be a mum now. 🥹

My fiancé and I are planning to start TTC in April! Just started on my folic acid/vitamin d tablets and it’s starting to feel very real! Eek 🥰❤️ Anyone else in a similar position? I’d love to know any tips on how to best prepare my body in advance and any tips for my other half too!

This is literally me down to the preferring certain months to fit in better with my older child. Obviously I’m not counting on this and won’t skip months apart from March as my husband is adamant about avoiding a December baby. Ultimately I’d love to be casual but I just don’t think I can!

Yes we will also be avoiding a December birthdate… and potentially January. I think my preferred months are late Feb-July and also October. But would obviously be pleased for a pregnancy whenever.

I think it helps to be realistic with ourselves 🤣. I keep telling myself I don’t want to be upset or too bothered about this month not being successful but I think the truth is I will. And I should just allow myself to be that.

Just checking in with everyone? I should ovulate later this week/next, but feeling already like it's just not going to happen for us this month - no reason why 😂a bit flat. Finally accepted given I am not pregnant I need to do something about the Xmas weight gain - all boring boring

My ubiquinol just arrived! Just taken my first 600mg dose! Is that the right amount for over 35?

I don’t know enough about it, sorry! I’m just on folic acid and vitamin D.

I'm actually TTC already but just wanted to ask about the mat pay. Are you new to the NHS or have you moved from another role in the NHS? If you've moved from another NHS role with a less than 3 months break between roles, your continuous service should carry over so it doesn't reset in October. If you're new to the NHS, ignore me and you're right about having to wait until April. I was in a similar boat last year and even though I wasn't new to the NHS, I'd lost my continuous service as I'd left for a while and rejoined so was on the 6 months waiting train. It's only this month for me that I've become eligible for enhanced pay again.

Hi! I’m completely new to the role so no continuous service for me unfortunately. Ahh how frustrating for you that you had to wait!

Ahaha glad I’m not the only person who has hopes for certain birthdays in mind! I’m a teacher and am adamant I don’t want an August baby. I also come from a family where a lot of our birthdays fall later in the year (Oct-Dec partner included) so my ideal months would be Spring around March-May time if I could choose.

I’m also the same with months! As much as I’m desperate to get started on this journey, we want to avoid the possibility of a December baby!

AF is due in a couple of days and even though I know I need to wait until April to TTC, there’s still a part of me hoping that AF doesn’t arrive! 🤣 We’ve been careful but I’m not actually on any contraception so you never know! This wait until April is killing me so trying to think of it as just two more cycles to get through rather than a few months!

This is our final month before taking a break and I’ve had very very faint lines on two tests this morning 9dpo. I’m trying not to be too excited, this time around I’m feeling quite nervous about CP as I’ve read a lot about BF impacting implantation.

Ah I really hope this is it! Excuse my ignorance but what does BF stand for? Im still new to all the acronyms!

Hello all! I'd like to join you to give myself some encouragement. I am blessed to already have my beautiful two year old daughter. We got pregnant in November 2024 with our second and were over the moon. We went for the NIPT test in January. I was 9+5 but sadly baby was only measuring 7 weeks and no heartbeat. I had a D&C yesterday and am recovering at home now. As devastated as we are to have lost the baby, we want to start trying again as quickly as we can. Fingers crossed for all of us x

Thank you! I just came to update, it’s been a bit of a rollercoaster. I kept testing on the cheapies I got from Amazon, I kept getting the faint line. So I read reviews of the tests and found that unfortunately lots of women were getting false positives from these tests, mine looked exactly the same. I bought a CB digital which came back ‘not pregnant’. However, my luteal phase is usually very short and my period is a few days late. I tested with a first response this morning and have a very clear positive! My emotions have been all over. But at the moment, I think I am pregnant. My plan is to go to the GP next week and ask for a blood test.

BF means breastfeeding 😊

Ahh amazing! Congratulations 🥰 Sounds like we have our first 2025 baby on the thread. 😍

Thank you! That does make sense!

I’ve tested the last few days as my period is due tomorrow and my boobs have been so sore. It’s just wishful thinking though and I really didn’t expect a positive as we haven’t actually been trying as our plan is to wait until April. Won’t lie I was disappointed to see a BFN even though I know it would’ve been very unlikely and we need to hold off a bit longer. I need a hobby to distract me. 🤣

So sorry you got a BFN, it’s going to feel sos special when you are finally actively TTC. Maybe enjoy those things you can’t do once you’re pregnant or look at classes etc for pregnancy as a way to plan and distract yourself. The testing is all consuming!

LeafCorner · 09/02/2025 23:40

Hi everyone, checking in to say we have finally started ttc. It doesn’t feel real. I think i missed ovulation, but it feels good to start anyway. Excited for you all who will be starting soon. I’m also not keen for a December baby, so debating whether we take a pause next month

I completely understand this as that’s exactly the situation i was in last month. The time will go quickly though, don’t worry. I started an exercise class as distraction and to get healthier.

Ah how exciting that your time has come around to start! 🥰

Yeah I’m really trying to get into running to keep myself distracted. Also finishing off parts of the house that need some TLC!

My period came today, was expecting it but was still sad to see it! 🤣 Just two more cycles to get through and then it’s my turn to start trying. 😄

Has anyone experience with clomid? Took it this month and had 2 mature follicles. Not sure if both ruptured. But feeling really bloated at 2 dpo and a bit crampy

SureLook · 14/02/2025 07:41

Sorry @babybrain23 no experience with Clomid. I've tested negative after my D&C this morning so now I'm awaiting AF before we can start trying. You don't have to wait technically but they advise it to help with dating a future pregnancy. It says it can take anything between 4-8 weeks for AF to return. I'm hoping I won't be waiting that long!

@EmCha how are you?

I’m doing okay thank you, I didn’t get the blood test in the end as I continued to test positive and very much have symptoms now. Hoping to try out some medication for the sickness x
