TTC in 2025!

Hi everyone, thought I’d make my first thread here to see if there’s anyone else planning to conceive in 2025? 🥰 I’m feeling so excited but also a little nervous as I have a cyst on my ovary. It doesn’t cause me any pain or symptoms but it’s being referred to as a suspected endometrioma so that causes me some anxiety! The gynaecologist told me I won’t know if it affects fertility until I try and he isn’t too worried. However that doesn’t stop my nerves! I really hope 2025 will be the year, I feel so ready to be a mum now. 🥹

My fiancé and I are planning to start TTC in April! Just started on my folic acid/vitamin d tablets and it’s starting to feel very real! Eek 🥰❤️ Anyone else in a similar position? I’d love to know any tips on how to best prepare my body in advance and any tips for my other half too!

@EmCha how are you?

I’m doing okay thank you, I didn’t get the blood test in the end as I continued to test positive and very much have symptoms now. Hoping to try out some medication for the sickness x

Ahh congratulations!!

Hi everyone, I'd like to join please :)
We will start TTC in April too, we're lucky enough to have two beautiful babies already so this will (hopefully) be our third and final. Holding on until April so I can secure a promotion. I'm getting so impatient though! We decided in the summer that we weren't having anymore children but 6 months later we can't shake the feeling of not being done so now we've decided to go for it I just want to begin! Looking forward to sharing the journey with you all 🙂🤞🏼

Hi everyone, can i join in this thread? Also TTC been tracking my ovulation, taking proceive vitamins. Been feeling really rough and hoping my pms doesn't come soon. Already have a 7 year old but been trying for a few months as I'm 35 now and had a very rough birth with my first, hoping I can get pregnant again.

Becitee · 19/02/2025 12:58

Hi, could i join this thread please ladies? I am actively trying to conceive. I have doubts in my mind about this month. I feel we missed the window. My partner works away during the week, so we have a tight time frame.
I'm sure i ovulated on monday 17th. The last time we dtd was saturday night. I keep doubting the timing :(
We have been sort of trying for over a year, dtd but not really tracking every month etc.

EmCha · 19/02/2025 17:56

Hi to all of you who have joined! Lovely to have you. Got my fingers tightly crossed for those of you currently TTC!

Hi! Nice to have someone else here who is waiting until April and for a work related reason too! I feel so impatient too! How old are your other two children? ☺️

My eldest is 6 and my youngest is 4. In an ideal world, I'd love to the baby to be born before my eldest turns 8, which is April 2026. Although I'm 34 so I know that it may not be as easy this time around 😩🤞🏼

Ah that would be a lovely age gap between them all. Fingers crossed for you!

My daughter is 6, she will be 7 in may. So I'm in the same boat. I don't want much more time to pass, as I already feel like it's a big age gap. But people keep telling me it's a lovely age gap

Wiggleyfingers · 19/02/2025 19:43

@beticee I think it will be lovely! Instagram keeps feeding me so many reels of older children with babies and it's too cute. 🥺

Pleasestopjumpingonthesofa · 20/02/2025 10:36

Hi all, I'm currently trying for #1, cycle 3 although last cycle was a bit of a write-off due to illness. Known possible issues both sides (health-wise) but we're early 30s so age is relatively on our side at least.

Struggling with the mental side of it! I like to plan (tend to be anxious) and this is not something I can plan 😂this month doing OPK (for the first time) and BBT (second cycle) and just had a jump from very weak lines on OPK over the last 4 days to much stronger but still not positive today (premom says 0.7). So it's pretty exciting to see that my body is definitely doing something!

Is anyone else (particularly who's trying for their first) really wanting to get pregnant but also absolutely terrified of it happening!? I'm sure it's quite normal but whenever I've read these threads everyone seems so certain...I want a family but I don't really "do" babies!

Pleasestopjumpingonthesofa · 20/02/2025 10:41

Oh - and my siblings range from 5-11 years older than me. It's a different sibling relationship but we're still (mostly - there's a few of us!) close and get on, choose to meetup without parents etc. So I wouldn't worry too much about the gap particularly as there's not exactly anything you can do about it!

Hi, I'm replying to both your posts. I wasn't trying when I concieved my daughter, so not sure on them feelings. But I have so many feelings trying with number 2. I have an almost 7 year old, and a different partner. It's so frightening, because I overthink silly outcomes. But it's the best feeling in the world. I always think how can i ever love another child as much as i love my daughter. But it's just natural, and seeing my daughter with a sibling is going to be even more magical. I can't wait for the day.
It's so normal to feel this way hun, it's a huge big deal. But it's absolutely fantastic it's also so nice to hear you have close relationships with your siblings. I know she will be the best big sister x

Since we've had this conversation so has my instagram 🤣 I really hope this is our month

SureLook · 20/02/2025 17:57

@Pleasestopjumpingonthesofa I will be TTC my second once I get my period but can relate to how you feel about trying for your first. I was certain I wanted children but I'll never forget the shock and anxiety when I found out I was pregnant. It happened in our first month of trying and we had illness too so I had ruled it out. I was up the walls with the anxiety of it all. Totally normal to be terrified!

Pleasestopjumpingonthesofa · 21/02/2025 10:58

Well, I appear to have had an LH peak which is exciting. First month of OPKs so of course it might not be "the" peak and I'll keep testing, but if it is then we got the timing a bit wrong the last couple of months. Will be glad of using the tests if that's the case!

I'm glad it's common to feel terrified at the idea despite wanting children. I've known that I've wanted children for my entire life and was so relieved (and excited!) when we could start trying as health issues might make it take longer. I'm still excited but massively overthinking! Standard for me, and I'm doing quite well at keeping busy with other things both as a distraction and as things to look forward to so I'm not just waiting for a BFP.

My husband seemingly has none of these worries 😂

SureLook · 21/02/2025 13:38

@Pleasestopjumpingonthesofa That's great that the OPKs will be helpful to you with the timings. I worried so much and over analysed everything and there was absolutely no need. Easier said than done though 😂

EmCha · 21/02/2025 23:51

I’m tracking my cycle again this month and I think I’ve just got my positive ovulation test. There’s 24 hours between these two tests and what a difference! I’ll test again in the morning too. I’m waiting until April to TTC but seeing that positive test is making me even more impatient! I just keep telling myself, only one more cycle after this one.

TTC in 2025!

@EmCha looks good! I found it such a relief when mine finally went dark. I was hoping for a nice high BBT this morning to "confirm" (ha. As if anything with this process is certain) but no luck, so I'll see what the heck my charts do over the next few days. Going to attempt to think about it less over the weekend!

SureLook · 22/02/2025 07:31

Looks positive to me too @EmCha good sign for when you do start to TTC!

That's so exciting! What times of the day have you been testing? My fertile period starts tomorrow so I'll begin my OPKs then. My cycles always vary by 3-4 days ish so I'm not sure how helpful it will be, but it will keep me entertained in the meantime.
Does anyone mind sharing which region you're from? I'm in the South East, assuming we're all UK?

SureLook · 22/02/2025 07:55

@Wiggleyfingers I'm in Ireland!

Morning when I first wake up and evening before bed. ☺️ I’m in West Yorkshire!

I do around 10am and then if doing a second test (if it's risen, basically!) then around 5pm. I read somewhere that 10am-6pm is the recommended window but I'd do it outside that window if I wasn't working from home I must admit!

I'm South East too @Wiggleyfingers 😊
