As the title suggests, if you’re over 35 and TTC your first, I’d love to hear from you! Would be nice to hear from a few of us in the same boat 🙂

@carolinep3 thanks for your message. I have also done all kinds of research but it's all quite conflicting.

thejadestoneandthedragon · 13/01/2025 14:22

@overthinkersanonnymus yeah I'd try not to think about that. We all wish and hope for a healthy baby of course. I just want to see a positive pregnancy test to be honest and I'll cross the other bridges when I get there. This journey is hard enough so try not to dwell on negative outcomes! ❤️

CD 8 for me and I've just bought a ferti - Lily conception cup from boots to try this cycle, after reading lots of positive reviews, it's worth a shot! Hope everyone is doing OK 🥰

Clara202 · 13/01/2025 14:32

@overthinkersanonnymus it has crossed my mind but not to the extent that it would put me off. I have a friend group of about 10 and two of them have non verbal kids with autism, both conceived in their 20s. So the risk is there regardless of age. And it’s not a sin to admit that the possibility would scare you, I think we would all admit that. ❤️

My sister is severely disabled, mum had her at 29. Just one of those things. Ironically, major contributing factor to me putting off ttc- my mum has essentially had to do everything a new parent has for 28 years.

In other news, CD 29. AF not arrived ( have resisted testing) I'm usually 27-30 days. It feels imminent though.

Screenburn · 13/01/2025 20:51

Well done on not testing @HollyGolightly4. I’m afraid I caved today - BFN - but I feel so strange that I’m thinking it’s maybe too early still (AF due any time from 15-17 Jan). Weird taste in my mouth, super heightened sense of smell and so tired it’s like my eyes are looking through fog…never normally get these with PMS, just cramps and backache (which I also have right now, but less intensely).

Can’t help but think something is happening…but am also v aware from the kind of job I do that the mind can play tricks on you! So trying not to get too excited.

HollyGolightly4 · 13/01/2025 21:25

Thanks @Screenburn . Definitely sounds like something 🤞 but the mind is terrible for playing tricks

Clara202 · 13/01/2025 21:58

@Screenburn I obviously have no personal experience but everyone who has had a bfp always describes the strange taste in the mouth and fatigue. I would not be surprised if you get yours in a few days 🤞🏻

Thanks @HollyGolightly4 and @Clara202 - trying to be cautiously optimistic without being too hopeful.

How is everyone else doing? Anyone else in 2WW? @KittyFantastica how are you getting on?

KittyFantastica · 14/01/2025 13:09

16DPO over here, so 4 weeks and 2 days. Nothing to report, thankfully! Tests are looking okay. No symptoms yet; my back ache and cramps disappeared the day after my first positive test. I didn't really have any symptoms with my son until 9 weeks though, so not too worried about that.

Sorry to see you've had a BFN @Screenburn but as you say, plenty of time yet!

HollyGolightly4 · 14/01/2025 16:00

12 dpo, cycle day 30. Feeling absolutely petrified that my period is going to arrive and keep obsessing every time I go to the toilet. I'm not even out of the days my period could start.

MrsH26 · 14/01/2025 16:08

9DPO for me and I’ve managed to resist testing so far!
Not feeling optimistic though for some reason.

carolinep3 · 14/01/2025 16:52

Cd4,
Plodding along, waiting for af to stop!

CD13 here, waiting on a smiley!

Thanks everyone.

I dont really know where I am in my cycle as they're irregular. I don't know if I'm imagining symptoms or just aware of them but my breasts are tender, I'm peeing more and my vaginal discharge has changed (never really paid attention to it before though so maybe it hasn'!). Honestly, I think my period is going to arrive soon but I'm crossing my fingers these are early symptoms - tested negative a few days ago though so not optimistic.

Clara202 · 15/01/2025 18:55

CD14, flashing smiley this morning at around 7am - there was nothing there yesterday around 5pm. Got home from work and tested again and now I have a static. So in the space of 24 hours I’ve had empty, flashing, static 🤯

8dpo for me and v low chance of success this month because we only tried in the evening 1dpo (I think 1dpo!!). Was still getting my head around it then with ovulation tests. I have regular periods so hoping that plus knowing how the tests work will help despite my 43yr self!!

Welcome to the supersonic surge club! 🥳

HollyGolightly4 · 15/01/2025 19:55

Think my period has arrived. I only say think, because of the one time I was pregnant and had a period. Feel totally bereft. The entire world around me is pregnant (not much of an exaggeration!) Trying to stay strong. I'm doing dry Jan so also trying not to turn to drink 🤣.

KittyFantastica · 15/01/2025 19:48

Welcome to the supersonic surge club! 🥳

I wonder if the supersonic surge disappears just as quickly?! I’m wondering if I already missed the boat if it’s as quick as the progression from empty to static was! DTD Monday, skipped yesterday, DTD today and will repeat tomorrow and Friday.

OP posts:
KittyFantastica · 15/01/2025 23:22

It's only the surge that's supersonic @Clara202, not the ovulation. Ovulation takes place 12-48 hours after the surge no matter how quickly it happens. As long as you identify the surge, you've got time.

Clara202 · 16/01/2025 09:14

It would drive you mad! I got a flashing but then obviously hours passed before I took the second test, which was static. So for all I know the static could have appeared sooner had I tested earlier etc, which would have started the 12-48 hour window sooner. I know people hate the TWW but I think fertile week aka guessing game week is worse 😅
No cm at all really which doesn’t bode well but I had some cramps over the last few days.

Sorry to hear this @HollyGolightly4. I am also out for this month - AF arrived this morning. So all my ‘symptoms’ were in my head…has definitely been a good cautionary tale for me not to get too excited going into next cycle.

HollyGolightly4 · 17/01/2025 13:30

💐💐 @Screenburn terrible isn't it?!

Toppstileslover · 18/01/2025 17:16

Hey @Clara202 i have been thinking of you from dinos (only these are true dinos 😂) ❤️

im 37 and ttc number one, had my first ever pregnancy after being very lucky in month two and now have a mmc on week 9. Tried MVA yesterday but found out I have a narrow cervix so have to have surgery under general to remove. I was fine about it until yesterday now in a world of ttc paranoia already.

Just want my cycle and to get back ttc. Sending love and baby dust to all - there is so much additional pressure with age too. Though literally every single doctor I have spoken to (I always say I’m old) has said I’m not so I’m trying to be positive.

May this be your month ✨✨✨
