As the title suggests, if you’re over 35 and TTC your first, I’d love to hear from you! Would be nice to hear from a few of us in the same boat 🙂

@Toppstileslover things are bad when you’re the oldest person in a group called The Dinos eh?😂 Welcome! I have been keeping an eye and on Dinos and thinking of you all. It’s understandable to feel the way you’re feeling but I have no doubt that you’ll be absolutely fine and will have no issues going forward.
I am on CD 17 and 2DPO so I’m into the TWW. I don’t think I’ll even bother testing this time, I’ll just forget about it, wait for AF and save the tests. In the grand scheme of things I’ve not been trying that long but I feel like I’m flying through cycles.

How are we all doing?

CD20, 5dpo here. Had zero cm on the days when I was supposedly ovulating, but then had some (not much) maybe 2/3 days after the peak. I thought the cm was supposed to arrive in the days before the peak. 🤷🏼‍♀️
Nothing to report here symptom wise or anything like that. No burning desire to test or anything either.

I was going to ask the same thing earlier. I thought we had all been quiet for a few days.

I am currently CD13, waiting for the peak. I usually get CM before but it’s yet to arrive.
My husband is working away next week so I really hope ovulation happens soon otherwise we’re out this cycle.

thejadestoneandthedragon · 21/01/2025 10:16

CD16 for me today, I think I ovulated on CD12 or 13 like normal, all my ovulation symptoms were around then and EWCM etc, so I think I'm 3/4dpo now! Used the Ferti-lily conception cup 5 x in fertile week and conceive lubricant too! I'm really hopeful this cycle🤞🏽 nothing to report except lower back pain but that's pretty normal for me at this stage in my cycle. Trying not to symptom spot too much 😅

Clara202 · 21/01/2025 10:23

@EEB1989 I'm guilty of going a bit quiet on CD1 for about a week as I recover from another AF appearance! What day do you usually get your peak? It’s only Tuesday so plenty of time between now and when your husband goes away so I wouldn’t rule yourself out just yet 😊

OP posts:
thejadestoneandthedragon · 21/01/2025 10:25

Also, I've booked my first IVF consultation for next Monday so I'm feeling pretty hopeful overall ☺️ I hope you're all doing ok ❤️

Clara202 · 21/01/2025 10:28

@thejadestoneandthedragon sounds very positive so far anyway. We’re similar on our cycle days by the sounds of it. This is our 5th cycle, we will wait until the 6th cycle and will pursue testing after that if we haven’t been successful.

Me too. I try not to look on here or social media in that first week. I hide away and read or binge something on Netflix.

I usually peak late, around 16/17. Still time to reach it before he goes on Sunday night. I’ll have to make the most of him while I can 😂.
I’m grateful that he’s away in the TWW though, I think I drive him mad in the wait… it’s all I talk about 🙈.

Clara202 · 21/01/2025 10:44

@EEB1989 I don’t chat about it much in the TWW as we are both exhausted thinking about it during fertile week. This week is usually bad for me hormonally, everyone and everything irritates me prior to AF’s arrival

Yes I think that's very sensible. I kick myself every day that I waited so long to get checked out. Wish I'd done it sooner and got things going but here we are!
Ooooh we are similar stages in our cycle, are you testing early? My AF isn't due for 13days and I'm going to try and hold out! ❤️

Clara202 · 21/01/2025 10:59

@thejadestoneandthedragon how long have you been trying and how old are you? I wouldn’t beat yourself up about it. The months fly by very quickly and I always read that it takes most people in our age bracket a year, 8 months being the average. I had that in mind when we started trying but as the months fly by it certainly does begin to feel like it will never happen.
I tend to have a short luteal phase, I will test on Saturday or Sunday if I don’t have my usual pre AF symptoms.

Also guilty of being quiet!

I had some bleeding, so been worried. My epau have seen me and HCG has tripled in the 48hrs, scan next week 🤞🏻

I'm 35, not been using any form of contraception for 4 years, haven't had any bfp in that time😪 first 2 years we weren't really thinking about it too much and we're just seeing how it went, the last 2 years I've been tracking etc.. but still nothing. Had all bloods/internal scans/Hycosy etc but it's just unexplained infertility!
I did fall pregnant with my partner 10+ years ago (same partner i'm with now) but we decided it wasnt the right time in our lives as we were just about to move to Australia for a few years, so I decided to terminate - Which obviously I hate myself for now! But I do try not to dwell on it and stay hopeful! We're doing something about it now. My luteal phase is usually 17 days bang on, but as I haven't tracked ovulation ots a bit trickier to pin point. Fingers crossed for your test on the weekend xx

Clara202 · 21/01/2025 15:12

@thejadestoneandthedragon Don’t beat yourself up over that either. Pregnant at 24/25 when you’re just about to go travelling etc, it just wasn't your time. I certainly wouldn’t have been mature enough for it at that age myself. My luteal phase has been anything from 8-11 days so far.

@MrsH26 bleeding is scary but it also seems to be common and your HCG tripling sounds positive. Heaps of luck for your scan 🩷

GP said I may still need to wait a year before any referrals even though I'm over 35 today!

Marvelftw · 21/01/2025 19:19

Hello fellow dinos! 🦕 AF arrived for me today bang on schedule. Was pretty sure I hadn’t conceived early on in the month though as I had cramps from about 2 DPO. I’ve never seen anyone else report this before? But I guess it’s a way I can tell really early. Since I was pretty sure I was out I didn’t do any early testing which mentally did feel quite nice.

@carolinep3 That’s interesting, how comes you have to wait that long? Is there a long list?

At least with af here you can start a new cycle. I always feel better cd1 then waiting for it when you know you aren't pregnant (I spot a lot so now I'm out).

No idea it is just what she said, also I probably won't even get a referral as I already have children.
I'm getting bloods done for this month so will just take it from there.

HollyGolightly4 · 21/01/2025 20:01

Quiet over here too. CD 7 and end of period. I hate this bit, trying to psych myself up for the next cycle.

laidir · 21/01/2025 21:32

Hi could I join please?
In a similar situation.
I'm 37 and this will be second month trying, last month I think I miscalculated ovulation. DP is 46 next month so with the combination of our ages I am not sure if we have left it too late for another. We are blessed with 2 teenagers, 1 together and 1 mine.
I have some challenges, I was diagnosed with PCOS in my 20s and cycles have recently been between 29-39 days so it's difficult to know when or if I'm ovulating. I also have a prolapse from previous childbirth which makes things difficult, also prone to chronic UTIs following dtd that take ages to shift or don't shift, so for my health I'm scared to dtd more often than our current once a month or less, otherwise I'd be dtd every other day to cover bases! I am thinking it's last chance though with our ages so I have bought two types of ovulation tests, taking CoQ10, and like you @HollyGolightly4 , on CD7 and psyching myself up. Going to risk dtd more this cycle, and also maybe some home insem although DP not keen.

laidir · 22/01/2025 19:01

Sorry I got the wrong thread

Clara202 · 23/01/2025 13:39

Lots of cramps for the past few days but all over my stomach, no sharp one sided pains or anything. Feels different to other months but also doesn’t feel like it could be implantation since it’s been happening since about 2dpo and both sides etc. Will test Saturday or Sunday but AF is likely to appear before then. How is everyone?

OP posts:
EEB1989 · 23/01/2025 14:39

@Clara202 when is AF due? I’m currently in my “fertile week”. Got EWCM but no peak… testing twice a day.

I’ve got a book ready and a couple of series to binge in my TWW and I might even do some DIY to keep my mind busy.

Clara202 · 23/01/2025 16:14

@EEB1989 due on Sunday, according to Flo

OP posts:
Screenburn · 23/01/2025 20:12

Hey @Clara202, will keep my fingers crossed for you and a BFP this weekend!

CD7 for me and hopeful for this month, but as DH is having surgery next week I think it’s probably unlikely for us this time in all honesty. Although he is more confident about his ability to recover enough to DTD than I am! 😂
