I’ll start about me - TTC nr 2 cycle nr 4. Nr 1 took one cycle to conceive, so I’m still wrapping my head around this being a journey.

I will be testing around 8th of December. Have shortish cycles and shortish luteal phase.

OP posts:
Row23 · 11/11/2024 16:59

I should also be testing around 8th December!
TTC baby 2. First and second pregnancies both happened first cycle. This will be cycle 2 so still early on and feeling fairly positive :)

S4mmyj90 · 11/11/2024 17:08

TTC #1 fertile window next week so will be looking to test around 3rd December. Have had a chemical pregnancy in August.

Fairy0708 · 11/11/2024 19:20

Hey!

I'm TTC number 2. On cycle 16, AF day late, tests negative 🙈

Number 1 concieved cycle 1.

MyGardenDaisies · 11/11/2024 20:19

@Fairy0708 wow that must feel like such a contrast to first cycle. Have you seeker treatment ?

I am finding it hard to face the reality that I’m on cycle 4 and nr 1 took 1 cycle.

OP posts:
Fairy0708 · 11/11/2024 20:43

@MyGardenDaisies yep it's been a shock. I've had all the tests and scans and everything is normal. We won't do IVF for various reasons so just praying baby 2 comes along when it's meant to be!

MyGardenDaisies · 11/11/2024 21:08

@Fairy0708 I hope it happens soon! Xx

Anyone trying anything different or new in December? Or just DTD and track ovulation?

OP posts:
wouldlovearoast · 12/11/2024 10:25

Hey ladies. I am on cycle 4 of TTC - thought I was in for the win in November but my body had other plans!
This month I am cutting down alcohol majorly, focusing on better sleep, better diet as I fast alot so going to focus on what food I'm putting in my body, going to maybe try the mediterranean diet....and less stress with work. Wondering whether to take supplements and track - I just feel like it puts more pressure on, can't seem to win either way

wouldlovearoast · 12/11/2024 10:34

I'm on CD5, due to test around 5th December but trying not to panic as my period came 6 days early this month which has baffled me...so not really sure what's going on and panicking slightly of my age (35) which I know isn't 'past it' at all, however with other friends saying their perimenopausal and started off with their cycle doing strange things like starting early has me worried a tad...

Trying to keep positive - just fell pregnant so easy my first time and definitely hasn't been that easy this time...

MyGardenDaisies · 12/11/2024 13:04

@wouldlovearoast hey! I’m the same, cycle 4 trying for a second and first was pregnant straight away.
I went full in with the supplements since everything takes like 3 months to properly show benefits, and have a pill divider that I load up 1x week, so it’s easy.

I totally agree that stress can be such a contributor to period doing funny things!

Hey

I'm TTC No2 currently on Cycle 3.

No1 was conceived cycle 1 so I naively thought No2 would be the same. Trying to keep relaxed about it all at the minute and not get really intense as it's still such early days.

MyGardenDaisies · 12/11/2024 17:24

@OscarVictorEcho welcome! Crazy that it seems so many of us on this thread as well have had the same experience with 1st one on the 1st cycle and now 2nd taking more months

JB2021 · 12/11/2024 21:58

I'm here. Came off the pill about 3.5 weeks ago, period arrived Monday so can start things properly now.

Have a 19 month old and we had about 5 months off the pill but 1 cycle of properly trying, we used SPEM method and had success.

Plan is to do that again, hoping it's as easy! But I'm older so who knows. Have ovulation strips ready and will be ordering preseed again

MyGardenDaisies · 12/11/2024 22:07

@JB2021 good luck!

I am on CD3 today and starting to have some excitement and optimism for trying again now in cycle 4.
The only thing we will do differently this cycle is that I’m calorie counting to lose weight and we will try to cover the peak day and next day rather than focusing on the days before peak.

I’m also CD3 and thinking about when we will DTD. Last month we did it quite a bit before and around the peak, but I think this month we’ll just try to consistently do every other day. I’ll still do ovulation tests just so I know when I ovulate, but it’ll be more relaxed if we just DTD every other day rather than trying to do it more for a few days etc 🤞

MyGardenDaisies · 13/11/2024 15:23

@Row23 that is a good approach, otherwise I feel like it’s easy to get a “burnout” from TTC.
I find the fertile days the most stressful
part of it all.

Hello, I'd love to join, we haven't tried this month owing to needing some vaccines which are not recommended in pregnancy. I am going to Dr on the 27th and with all clear will be starting TTC in the December cycle. I like the idea of not tracking too much to try not to focus on it, but use family planning as the current contraceptive method so have a pretty solid idea about when things happen anyway. I ovulate very late each month, which I'm aware can cause issues. The only pre-conception my husband and I have done is that he has stopped drinking since September. I have had a previous chemical pregnancy, however this is our first TTC journey.

NamechangeTTC · 13/11/2024 23:17

Tentatively joining

really want a 2nd but terrified following a horrific first pregnancy and birth

spent the last 1.5 years getting into shape to consider pregnancy but also got the mental barriers to consider.

we’ve started not using protection so not preventing, not trying. Also been taking folic acid for months as a prep

I so want a 2nd child, but so scared for what this will potentially do to me.

NamechangeTTC · 13/11/2024 23:18

to add to the above

haven’t tracked ovulation

DTD around EWCM

no idea when period due as I’m breastfeeding

Sorry you’ve been through this. I totally understand. My first birth went in a direction I did not expect and it took a while to recover physically. But mentally it’s taken allooooot longer to get over. I would love another child, but the thought of giving birth again really scares me. The only thing that gives me hope is that every birth is different and second time round we are more informed about what can happen so can speak up a bit more for ourselves.
Have you had a birth reflections chat with a midwife? Can help to process the birth and understand why certain things happened.

LaTable · 14/11/2024 08:27

I too would like to pop in and say hi.
Just finished a mmc on a surprise pregnancy which made me actually want to have number 3.
But that makes 3mc in my motherhood journey so far and 2dd's
Hubby agreed to one last try (one last bfp) so incredibly anxious with this one.
Waiting it out for whenever my body wants to start ovulating now ....

Incredible how many of you conceived no issues on your firsts in forst cycles!

MyGardenDaisies · 14/11/2024 09:58

@LaTable welcome and good luck to you! X

Yes,but it’s like 60% get pregnant within 3months, 80% within 6 months 90% within a year or something like that. So it’s common. I really wonder what make me conceive 1st try and now it’s 3 times unlucky.

Thank you!

I had a debrief and know that the risk of a second labour ending the same is lower but it’s still a lot.

pre eclampsia, PPH, 2.5l loss, episiotomy, ABO incompatibility. Just a shit show!

it also wrecked my body and I piled on the pounds. Need to ready myself for that!
