Just stumbled across this thread in the midst of a MMC. I am 9 weeks tomorrow and it stopped growing at 6 weeks (we were told then but had to wait 2 weeks). Went for my MVA yesterday but they couldn’t do it as I have a narrow cervix. Have to go back and have it under general on Wednesday.

I am 37 and so worried. It was our first pregnancy ever and We were very lucky to get pregnant second month, but I’m so worried luck is already out.

sending love to all, it is so tough! I was actually pretty stoic until they stopped my procedure and called the consultant yesterday and I’ve just been a mess since and so worried about periods coming back.

So sorry to hear your news. Keep your spirits high, luck isn’t out yet. Fingers crossed you feel ready to try again soon x

@Toppstileslover I’m sorry you have found yourself here - but there is comfort in being able to talk about it all with those of us who have also experienced it!
If it helps at all had my first MMC when I was 35, we fell pregnant first try, and then I started spotting at 8 weeks but scans showed nothing had developed after 5 weeks. It then took 7 cycles before our next bfp (I was 36 then) but that was anembryonic pregnancy that I went under general for, and then we fell pregnant 2 cycles after that with my now 3 year old. I was just about to turn 37 :) hopefully you will get your sticky bean soon! I’m currently 40 (soon to be 41) and trying for our second. Sadly I had another MMC - thisbtime my period took 10.5 weeks to come back, but I think that is more that I have had multiple losses.

The first time my period came back after 4 weeks, the next was 5 - so hopefully you won’t have to wait to long 🤞🏻 x

I hope everyone is well it as well as they can be.
I am having surgery in a little over a week's time to remove any adenomyosis and endometriosis as well as repairing my c section niche. It feels weird to not be TTC at the moment. I am hoping this will be the answer to everything x

I hope all goes well with your surgery. We do that type of surgery and I love hearing the positive stories from the consultant when he sends people back in clinic and they’re expecting. Hopefully it works out for you

Mummysparrow · 19/01/2025 08:50

@Ncl31 oh that's really good to know. Fingers crossed mine goes well then. Where do you work?

Good luck @Mummysparrow!

I'm heading in tomorrow for a follicle scan to see how my clomid is working. Finding it all so draining

DaringlyDizzy · 19/01/2025 13:11

Hi all
Resuming TTC after 6 months off from most recent loss
Have an entire regimen of heparin, cyclogest and aspirin to hand.
Also has anyone done ICI or used Tilly Blooms?

TrulyMiss · 19/01/2025 14:53

Had to google Tilly Blooms as I'd never heard of it. We use period cups sometimes if we're struggling to find time around ovulation between work, toddler etc as I'm keen to maximise our chances

Melusina123 · 19/01/2025 16:13

@DaringlyDizzy welcome! Do you have a diagnosis of anti-phospholipid antibodies, or is the heparin more just for general purposes?

PensivePencil · 20/01/2025 10:05

back after a bit of a half hearted couple of months. Jan / Feb are my last shots at this I feel like. Hope everyone is doing ok

nicolenorris · 20/01/2025 13:43

Hey girlies, I had a chemical last month. It was my first month using OPKs and I got my first positive opk test on CD18 but I'm currently on CD22 and my OPKs are just everywhere! So up and down, I'm starting to get really disheartened now 😔 has anyone else had weird OPKs after a chemical?

TTC after loss part 6
Joleyjojo · 20/01/2025 17:37

Hi everyone I’m back. After my MMC in august I just stopped the forum. I have now been pregnant 3 times in 9 months. Chemical in May, got pregnant again in June went for a scan at 10 weeks baby had stopped growing at 9. I had a D&C Periods came back normally and started TTC October.
found out I was pregnant on my 40th birthday last week. But tests have continued to stay light no progression in 5 days. So I am waiting to loose this one as another chemical.

I am absolutely devastated. The MMC was confirmed that baby had edwards syndrome. I can’t understand why this keeps happening. Maybe because my eggs are just not of a good quality, my luteul phase is 12 days, I’m 40 and maybe it’s just not going to happen.

I am just sat waiting to bleed , no one can help. GP and EPU will just say the tests are positive only time will tell. I just want the test to either be dark or AF to come. This waiting is heartbreaking. The BF just keeps thinking that because AF isn’t here it’s all fine.

at a loss with it all don’t know where to start who to see yo get some answers or advice .

but I will be on the TTC train again as soon as this has finished xxxx

Thank you for this @Bellabubble and sorry to hear about all your losses. I think this will be my timeframe too. Thanks for sharing I love these age stories and I truly wish you so much luck in the coming cycles 💫✨💫

Feeling a little apprehensive about my D&C on Wednesday but so glad I’ll be asleep. I will only have GA for anything moving forwards I clearly can’t handle it!

sending you love too @Joleyjojo - can you not go to the GP and get referred? Just say you have been trying for two years. I am relatively clued up but genuinely thought egg quality only affected getting pregnant. Bless you and don’t give up.

I have been eating absolute crap (I am mortified to say I even bought poptarts 😂) since my MMC. I am usually incredibly healthy so that’s a job for next week when I’m back to health.

Superscientist · 20/01/2025 20:07

Hi I feel for you. I'm similar. I had 2 losses in 6 months last year. A loss in August, I am think I remember you from that time, sorry I'm rubbish with names then I had another loss in December.
I'm in the wait for my period to return/ symptoms of pregnancy to start as we have been trying. I can't bring myself to test so in limbo.

I've been reading it starts with an egg and have their recipe book. I'm trying to make a few changes that might help with egg quality. My daughters has allergies so my diet has been limited by that and have realised that my diet could be better. For example she has egg and fish allergies and both are meant to be beneficial. I've tried to make changes to my breakfast and lunches when she's in school based on nutritions that are meant to be beneficial. I'm just making a few simple sensible swaps right now rather than a dramatic overhaul. It can't hurt right and it feels like it's something I could do to make myself feel healthier and have more faith in my body. I was feeling pretty run down during my second loss.

Sorry I've struggled to keep up with new / returning faces this week. Welcome/welcome back

thank you. Just so bloody down. I just want AF to come if it’s coming.
I have an appointment on 5th March at Tommys. So I am hoping for some answers. I have my party sat night and just am not feeling it. Xx

Bellabubble · 20/01/2025 20:16

@Toppstileslover I was apprehensive about my D&C - I hate being put under - but the procedure was so quick and I took comfort from the fact that you are’t under for long! My wisdom teeth (many moons ago) was over an hour and when I came round I cried and cried lol - for no reason!

@Joleyjojo I’m so sorry - it is so tough having so many losses! I have been taking coq10 which is meant to help egg quality (I’m due to be 41 soon)

From what I have been reading. Early losses can be due to chromosomal abnormalities which relates to egg quality. During maturation it goes through changes to get down to 1 copy of the chromosomes, this is energy demanding process and for lots of reasons this can go wrong and too many or two few chromosomes are in the resulting egg. If these get fertilised they won't necessarily develop properly and can be lost before implantation without realising it was ever fertilised or it doesn't develop properly during those early weeks.

Is there anything we can take vitamins etc to help? I don’t seem to have a problem getting a positive test it’s keeping holding of them. The MMC was confirmed Edwards which is chromosomal. Apart from IVF with chromosomal testing I don’t know the solution xxx

So my wisdom teeth were exactly why I didn’t think I needed a GA! I was absolutely fine (and they were tricky). I think a D&C is a bit more personal. Ironically I got my smear reminder today - absolutely no chance for a while after Friday’s horror show. I hadn’t cried but started crying during the procedure and haven’t stopped since 😂 poor hubby.

I took Coq10 (got it in the US so hoping it’s triple strength 😂) and I’m going to carry on taking folic acid (when I wean myself off pop tarts after Wednesday aged 37.5). I was being incredibly good with leafy veg. You can have poor egg quality at 25 so I never know how much difference it makes but we give it a go! Next Monday is the day. My bone broth looks very unloved (usually am health freak and gut obsessed)

Superscientist · 21/01/2025 09:22

@Joleyjojo yes there are supplements and dietary changes that are meant to improve egg quality. I can't remember them so I'd have to look through my notes. I'm also not all the way through the book. I have it starts with the egg and the associated recipe book. It's an interesting read and she takes it back to the science which I like but I know isn't for everyone

B vitamins, folic acid, thyroid function are some that spring to mind. There was something in fish and eggs which is helpful I think it was choline which often isn't in supplements which is why I've added them back into my diet. The rest of my diet was already fairly close low in red meat, fresh fruit and veg, Mediterranean like diet.
CoQA was mentioned, you can get this in your diet as well as supplements.

I have my appointment at the reoccurring miscarriage clinic in March. My concern is my thyroid function as I was on medication until April last year that impacts thyroid function.
Between me and my sisters we are 2 from 7 - 1 ectopic, at least 2 never got past 6 weeks. I think the other 2 probably didn't either at maternal ages between 19 and 36. I don't know if we just have bad luck or there's something linking the losses.

Beanie14 · 22/01/2025 00:03

Hi everyone, been off the chat for a while. I haven’t managed to read back over the chat just yet, just hoping you’re all well.

I’m 12 dpo today, haven’t tested, af due in 2 days anyway. I’ve been feeling unwell last 2 days, completely off food/drinks, feeling nauseous. Telling myself not to symptom spot though. We only managed to DTD once during my fertile window this month, thanks to a sick toddler. So I’m not getting my hopes up. But otherwise not sure what’s up and why I feel so ill.

where is everyone else in their cycle currently ?

TrulyMiss · 22/01/2025 07:36

Sorry to see some new faces (wish you didn't have to be here!) but you're very welcome of course.

Had a follicle scan on Monday to see how the clomid is working and long story short it isn't this month. I have a persistent follicle from last month - had never heard of this but seems when I thought I was ovulating last month the follicle never ruptured and now it's just sitting there emitting estrogen and keeping my system in limbo. It will rupture and then I'll get a period at some point, hopefully in the next week but potentially not for months...

I find the constant set backs and moving golf posts so challenging mentally. Really not sure how long I can continue but this is the last time I'm putting myself through this so feel a lot of pressure to continue

Melusina123 · 22/01/2025 09:45

@Joleyjojo Hey, I remember you from the Due March thread, sorry to hear it didn't work out. 😔

@Superscientist that's really useful intel! I worry about the quality of the science behind some of these supplements but I did crack and add ubiquinol/ Co- Q10 after last MC. Just waiting to see if it makes a difference... Also that does really sound like there might be something familial going on! Fx RMC is useful.
