Hey everyone moving over from the ttc sept 2024 thread. Very light start to period today. Expect to start tomorrow with negative pregancy tests. Thought id dip my toes in and start a wee thread.

Little bit about me. Im 35 years (soon to be 36 in oct...a birthday bfp would be lovely) been ttc since jan this year. This will now be cycle 10 for me. I have a 8 year old daughter with my ex and had to have ivf/icsi to have her due to his low sperm count. My new partner and i have been together now 2 and a half year and would love to extend our family.

So far i have had day 21 bloods which confirmed that i am ovulating and waiting to hear back regarding his SA results.

Please feel welcome in joining this thread and sending postive pregnancy vibes to all 😍

Nice to see this thread Ive been counting the days for October to come. Im a mom of an 8 year old and 5 year old and in August I had a miscarriage, it broke my heart. I was advised by my GP to wait for one period and try to conceive so if my calculations are right Im due my period next week then we can start trying again around ovulation week. Im 34 next week

Row23 · 15/09/2024 15:54

Hi 👋
I’m early 30’s with a toddler. Had a miscarriage earlier this year and we are planning on starting our TTC #2 journey in October. I’ve been on contraception since the miscarriage but am just coming off it, so expecting a period in the next week or so. Then it’ll be October before we can really try.
We conceived first go both times previously, but I know quite a few people who have had secondary infertility so I think I’m going into it expecting it to take a little while. Plus a little nervous of miscarrying again.
But we can hope! 🤞

ThatSnugSwan · 15/09/2024 17:58

@Row23 I understand the nerves of a miscarry again Im feeling the same, lets hope we both get our wishes for October 😊

Nicola1988 · 15/09/2024 21:58

Welcome 🙂 so sorry to hear of your miscarriages. That must have been devastating to go throught that. Fingers crossed for lots of bfps in this thread 😍

Hi 👋 can I join?

I’m 38 and ttc my 2nd, 11th cycle and starting to think it’s too late. My 1st is now 8, and from my previous marriage (hence the age gap). I’m struggling to confirm if I’m actually ovulating at the moment (I’m not quite getting dark enough lines on ovulation tests) but am having Hertility tests which I hope will shed some light and my DP is having an online sperm test this month.

@Nicola1988 Fingers crossed for a birthday BFP for you!

My circumstances are not that dissimilar to yours, can u ask how you arranged the day 21 ovulation test? Was this nhs or private? I’m having blood tests done via the online Hertility, but they have said to take the blood on CD3, so I am not sure how much reassurance that this will give me about ovulation.

@Row23 and @ThatSnugSwan sorry to hear about your losses, baby dust to you both.

FinallyPregnant2022 · 15/09/2024 22:58

On cycle 8 TTC2.....took us 19 long months with #1 due to low morphology

HighSir · 16/09/2024 10:28

Hello, I hope you don't mind me joining. I shall be starting my journey of ttc in October. I'm 36, 2 weeks away from 37 and have an 8 year old. Difficult first pregnancy and premature birth, has taken this long to feel ready to try again. Very nervous that I may be too old but we shall see. Good luck to everyone on their journeys and sending lots of positive baby dust your way.

Shellbells44 · 16/09/2024 13:15

Hello All,

34 years old and we have a 3 year old. Had a late miscarriage last month at 19 weeks which broke us. We tried for 18 months before falling pregnant, so feeling very worried about how long it might be before falling pregnant again this time.

i hope everyone gets their positives this month ❤️ xx

Friedseasalt · 16/09/2024 14:12

Hi all hope it is okay for me to join, I am 25. Had an ectopic in December, no tube removal. Came off the pill in April so not quite sure what to expect. AF was 4 days late, tested - neg. AF arrived today. How do you guys track ovulation? I currently just use the FLO app, so not great. Any advice welcome. Good luck to everyone, sending baby dust ❤

ThatSnugSwan · 16/09/2024 14:23

@Friedseasalt Sorry for your loss its tough. I have never tracked ovulation before other than the Flo app but this month I bought cheap ovulation strips to try just to give me a better chance

Nicola1988 · 16/09/2024 16:34

@Shellbells44 im so terribly sorry for u loss. Welcome to the thread. Completly understand your anxiety, not only for the miscarriage but also the time it took you to get there. Sending positive thoughtx

@HighSir welcome our age gaps are the same with our first and ttc #2. My daughter is excited at the thought of another baby hopefully joining our lil family. She is at an age where she can be more involved i hope. I did worry how she will feel about her stepdad and i having a baby but seems very looking forward to it. Baby dust 💫

@FinallyPregnant2022 welcome to the thread. That must have been so difficult ttc for those months, im really struggling with it all at the 10 month mark. I have some many people around me pregnant and finding it hard. Praying for a quick bfp for u xx

@Allymayd hey welcome. I reached out to my gp and she requested me to get the day 21 bloods. I was due to ovulate a few days after i saw her so she got me in then for the blood tests. No further follow up for me arranged..i think iv to go back once i receive results from my partner SA. I though perhaps and HSG would be next steps for me although unsure. Positive vibes your way xx

@Friedseasalt welcome x i also used flo app and still do but found by using ovulation sticks i actually ovulate a little earlier than what the app predicted. My cycle is roughly 26-27 days. I start using the ovulation sticks around day 9 and tend to get my peak on day 11ish x

Just thought I would reply and let you know how I track my ovulation. I use Clue and I brought the really cheap ovulation tests on Amazon. You get like 30 for a few pounds. I start testing from cycle day 9/10 and when the line is the darkest I make sure to log on Clue.

Friedseasalt · 16/09/2024 22:40

@Shellbells44 thank you so much, I have ordered the same tests! - arrive tomorrow. Just downloading the app, do you put the tests into the app or just log like FLO?

Hi! Joining from September chat.

I am still waiting for my period, but have had negative digital, so have lost hope for this month.

What prenatals are you all taking?

Hi, can I join... I'm ttc #2 I'm 41 I have a dd 5yo. I had a miscarriage in April blighted ovum detected at 6 wk private scan (heart broken!) eventually a d&c in June on Nhs waited a while to re group feel normal for a few months now I'm on my tww I'm 3dpo had cramps last night so I'm obviously symptom spotting Confused

KarlaP123 · 19/09/2024 10:18

Hi all, may I please join? I'm trying to conceive baby #2 since June. I have a toddler who is still breastfed twice a day, and I'm concerned that breastfeeding might be affecting my fertility. I had a private day 21 test, so I know I'm ovulating. I'm also planning to do a hormone mapping test next month. I'm currently 1DPO...

MyGardenDaisies · 19/09/2024 10:51

welcome!

Are you all making any lifestyle changes / supplenting to increase your fertility?

I am on Inositol, which has made my cycle very, very regular. And take Folic acid, Vitamin D, Omega 3, and think I might get CoQ10 as well, as I keep seeing it mentioned a lot. Cut down on coffee, and don’t drink alcohol anyways.

Might also buy the special conception-friendly lube this cycle.

I found the 2WW horrendous 1st cycle, so want to do as much as is in my control to make the TTC journey as quick as possible.
makes me so grateful first baby took one try only.

Itonlytakesone · 19/09/2024 11:09

@MyGardenDaisies
You sound very prepared. Since a mmc back in April I took time out to concentrate on supplements/vitamins. Iv been having b12 injections every month, taking pre conception vitamins him/her ones dh is on them too. Also take Co Q10 definitely felt a difference with the quality and regularity of periods it's definitely helping. I'm 3dpo & hoping for the best

MyGardenDaisies · 19/09/2024 12:04

@Itonlytakesone oh I’ll get that CoQ10 definitely then. I’m just a control freak and there’s little control over getting pregnant so doing most I can..
