Hey everyone moving over from the ttc sept 2024 thread. Very light start to period today. Expect to start tomorrow with negative pregancy tests. Thought id dip my toes in and start a wee thread.

Little bit about me. Im 35 years (soon to be 36 in oct...a birthday bfp would be lovely) been ttc since jan this year. This will now be cycle 10 for me. I have a 8 year old daughter with my ex and had to have ivf/icsi to have her due to his low sperm count. My new partner and i have been together now 2 and a half year and would love to extend our family.

So far i have had day 21 bloods which confirmed that i am ovulating and waiting to hear back regarding his SA results.

Please feel welcome in joining this thread and sending postive pregnancy vibes to all 😍

@HNM I feel the same way as you about ovulation strips, and up until now have just been going on rough cycle timings and cervical mucous. If we don’t catch this month I’m starting to think ovulation testing might be the way forward, it just feels a bit clinical and I’m worried it will stress me! If I do I’ll need to try and keep it quiet from DH so he doesn’t feel the pressure to perform haha! 🤣

I hope everyone is doing ok? I’m CD 16 today, and by a guess am probably about 3DPO (based off my normal 27 day cycle). We managed every other day from day 8-12, then every day from 12-14 (fuck me im dying 🤣🫠). However, today I’ve been feeling bloated and have loads of mucous, so wondering if I’m throwing a cheeky late ovulation- will try and DTD tonight be cover us, but we are both worn out 🤣🤣🤣 or maybe I just have thrush from all the BD, who knows at this stage…

🤣 how funny! I feel like we need these light hearted comments every now and then to lighten the stress! Haha

MyGardenDaisies · 04/10/2024 08:58

Hello!
CD17. We managed to DTD 4 days before + ovulation day.
Now my 12-day wait starts as that’s my average luteal phase.
Getting really hopeful and excited! Flo App says estimated implantation 9-13th of October. So I’m gonna try not symptom check at least for next 5 days 😂

Nicola1988 · 04/10/2024 13:32

Hey ladies. Im about 3-4 dpo. Had some nausea, cramping and more discharge than i normally get (tmi and im sorry 🤣) feel like im unable to get my hopes up as everymonth iv had a negative. Used SMEP for the first time this month x

Looks like we may have similar timing @Nicola1988 @MyGardenDaisies . I’m still waiting to ovulate. I’m on day 18 now and it’s just started to rise so hoping ovulation tomorrow. Last month it was day 21 which is very late for me. Day 19 is normal. Then it will be 2ww for us.

@Nicola1988 We have also being doing smep this month. But think we started a bit early 🤣 followed the guidelines but as I ovulate late think we could have waited a few more days. Still waiting for the peak before the three continuous days. Think it will be this weekend. 🤞🏻

MyGardenDaisies · 04/10/2024 14:18

How early do you guys plan to test and with which tests?

CandH35 · 04/10/2024 14:27

Hey!! TTC #1 at 35 and looking for some advice. I've been eagerly awaiting any sign of ovulation since coming off the pill (been on it nonstop since i was 17/18), I got what looked like a positive ovulation test this morning but I've not really been testing regularly as this cycle has been sooo long and also got my fist EWCM. As luck would have it I'm away for the weekend so won't see DH until Sunday evening, do you reckon I'll miss the window or is there still hope if we dtd on Sunday. Last time we dtd was Tuesday night which was probably too late to catch it 😫

lochmaree · 04/10/2024 15:20

Think I'm 11dpo today and have felt sudden sharp cramps quite low down that I don't usually get. All hopeful now 🙏

CoolSummer89 · 04/10/2024 17:04

Hi all,
Been busy busy here. Ovulation is today so the fertile window is almost over 🙃This is our 11th cycle of trying, so not getting my hopes up. Really hoping I can stay sane for the TWW. What is good is DH's SA appointment is finally on the horizon, so we should know if we have any issues for next cycle.

Welcome @CandH35, great to have you here! it's not an exact science with ovulation kits. They say that you ovulate 24-48 hours after a peak. DTD is more likely to be effective before ovulation then afterwards, because ideally sperm would be waiting for the egg. If you're not too tired I would DTD on Sunday just to cover bases. Tuesday being 4-5 days before ovulation is not ideal, but also there is still a chance. Will keep my fingers and toes crossed for you. Also if this is your first cycle will take a while to get used to things, try not to fret too much you will get the hang of it :)

@MyGardenDaisies This is my last cycle testing anything (LH & HSG), so I am going to test from 9dpo to use up my last cheapies. Then from next cycle, no OPKs and only testing for missed periods. (Don't hold me to this! 😂) I will keep doing BBT though to confirm ovulation.

@Nicola1988 ahhh the wait feels like an eternity. Keeping everything crossed for you

LS888 · 04/10/2024 18:37

@MyGardenDaisies I use cheapies like easy at home to begin with then if there is a hint of something I use first response. Normally test over a week or so with a cheapie not every day but maybe every other and then do a digital for confirmation after a week of positive cheapies.

MyGardenDaisies · 04/10/2024 18:42

@CoolSummer89 haha that’s me! I told my husband I’ll test when I miss my period and we will do it together, but now I am impatient 😂

Pipersgirl · 05/10/2024 07:02

@lochmaree this sounds promising! When will you test?

@MyGardenDaisies Every single cycle I say I’m going to hold off testing until my period is late, but every time I’m peeing on sticks by 8DPO (9 if I’m really restrained). My plan is to try and hold out until this time need week so my husband and I can check together on Saturday morning, when I will be roughly 12DPO (I don’t currently do ovulation sticks but have a pretty regular 27/28 day cycle). It sounds like a solid plan, but I make zero promises that I won’t be posting ridiculous pics of sticks at 6DPO because apparently I like peeing money away 🤣🫠

MyGardenDaisies · 05/10/2024 08:16

@Pipersgirl haha last cycle, which was first cycle trying for this baby, I spent so much money on the digital advanced ultra early tests and must have used like 5, that’s, plus all the cheap ones to torture my eyes with line reading and inverting images…

HighSir · 05/10/2024 09:09

Just had my high opk, currently day 8. Typically my husband is full up of cold. Hopefully we'll dtd over the weekend. Hope everyone else is doing ok 😊

When I get some tests 😂 ordered some cheapies off eBay but they've not arrived yet. The only ones I've got atm are nearly 3 years out of date 😬

ThatSnugSwan · 05/10/2024 10:19

I got this positive opk yesterday morning and we DTD last night, we also DTD Wednesday night too, really hoping we caught it in time 🤞

Hi, please can I join! CD1 for me today, cycle 2 trying for baby no2. Fell first try with our son so now I'm anxious that it won't be as easy this time around! Early days I know but I'm a worrier in all aspects of life😬

MyGardenDaisies · 05/10/2024 16:54

@Tadpolecat I am exactly the same as you, 2nd cycle trying for nr2, and 1st was one hit wonder haha

LS888 · 05/10/2024 17:19

@Tadpolecat @MyGardenDaisies how old are your little ones? I have a 14 month old.

Lilie123 · 05/10/2024 18:38

Hi all, we've been trying for over 8 months now and I'm freaking out a bit as I'm 16dpo and my line is fairly light. With my first the lines were a lot darker hence the worry. We are leaving the country this week and worried this might be ectopic/ chemical. Soo scared if it is .. how will I manage it in the foreign country... Is there anyone who had faint lines this late and it was all good? Thank you in advance :))

Tadpolecat · 05/10/2024 19:13

@LS888 Our son will be 3 in January. Sometimes he's a lot (probably just all toddlers tbf!) and we couldn't bear to do it any sooner😅 but equally, don't want a huge gap!

MyGardenDaisies · 05/10/2024 19:15

@LS888 18months :)

@Lilie123 Congratulations! ❤️ I used different brand tests in my first pregnancy so not sure. I would just do the Clear Blue week indicators until you get 3+, then go for an early heartbeat scan at 7 weeks and 12 week NHS

Lilie123 · 05/10/2024 19:31

@LS888 thank you lovely! Just need to keep my nerves down until then.. My first one just turned two and I already forgot how worrying it can all be 🥲

han311 · 05/10/2024 23:57

Hi! Is it OK to join? TTC #2 and in desperate need of people to share it all with aside from my poor OH 😂 I'm CD17 only 2dpo and already going mad! AF isn't due til 18/10 so I'm in for a long wait. Why is it all so stressful??? lol xx

Congratulations!!!!!! My line with my daughter on 14dpo was super duper faint, she's just turned 3! You may have implanted on the later side that's all. Just keep testing to make sure it gets darker 🥰

LS888 · 06/10/2024 09:01

@han311 welcome! The wait is so tough isn’t it. And agree the dads don’t quite go through the same experience. I had my peak opk yesterday so ovulating imminently. We have tried smep this month on our second month of trying. Timed intercourse is hard 🤦🏼‍♀️🤣 but know it’s the best way to make sure we do it at the right time and get the best chance. I’m 38 so can’t leave it up to chance.
