Excellent news Gilly.... WOOOOHOOO for some fab eggs there!!! I found the acupunture a great help and saw a difference when I swapped to someone that worked with fertility/IVF than from the gentleman we used when I had my IUI, who was Chinese.. I kind of got it in my head that as acupunture comes from China then a Chinese person would be more qualified/better... lol
In regards to blasts, I was always advised to go to blasts when we were going for IVF. The reason for this was because they only wanted to put one egg back in. They said that if they managed to get a higher grade egg back in then it would increase my chances of success from 36% to nearer 50%. But they said that if they failed to get the eggs to blast, then they would not go ahead with egg transfer and that can be hard to accept. I was all for blast as I felt I would rather have a higher chance on my 2ww. But each clinic seem to have difference view points on it. My friend went to a clinic did IVF, 2 eggs, transferred back in 2 days later, now pregnant with twins. So both ways work... I suppose the blast pre-empty some of the issues the eggs might have prior to et. I spoke to another friend who is due to do IVF at the clinic I was at and they are talking about blasts with her, but she would rather increase her chances by 2 eggs and no blasts. Because my clinic are saying if they take you to blast then they only will go for one egg to be transferred...

Sounds like you have loads of chilled out time planned... have fun with all your movies... and knitting... you will have to post some more pics of what you knit..

A&B - we have not decided on anything yet, as now becoming a bit short of funds because I have not worked for 6 months and will now be going on maternity leave. Plus hubbie normally gets quite big quarterly bonuses and we have had nothing now for 2 quarters, bloody recession! Time to tighten our belts

nomoremagnolia - Great to hear from you.. how are you?

nomoremagnolia · 28/03/2009 13:24

gilly I'm not sure what to advise - we had the embryos returned on day 3 and they didn't work, but who's to say why? Did they get to day 5 at all? We'll never know. They weren't great embryos at day 3 (one 5 cell, one 6 cell I think) I think the clinic said they'd only suggest going to blastocyst transfer if they were really good strong embryos, so maybe they didn't bother to offer/advise it with us. We just went with what they suggested - thinking they are the best placed to judge. Have you spoken to the clinic about it? I'd ask what they'd advise.

rah I'm ok - trying not to think too much about the impending L&D [scared] Glad to hear everything's good with baby - how far along are you now? I'm thinking about 26-7 weeks? You're a couple of weeks ahead of Ready aren't you? Sorry to hear about the belt-tightening We're doing the same here but every available penny is going into the IVF fund.

nomore- dont be scared about the L&D, its really not that bad. You will feel tender and bruised for a few days but the recovery is really quite quick. Hope you are ok anyway hun, havent spoken for ages!

Have been on a bit of a downer to be honest, was all ready to join this thread as an avid TTC'er then had some bad news so dropped MN altogether for a bit.

The results of my lap and dye were not so good/not so bad- depends how you look at it but it has taken me a while to get used to the results and get proper advice! Found out that I have endometriosis round my left ovary and an adhesion which is sticking my bowel to my left ovary and tube so we do not really know how well that side is working. However right side is ok . The gynae who did my op was next to useless so I asked my GP for a referral to CRM in Coventry and was seen within 4 DAYS!!! Crm didnt even have my notes cos the referral was so quick!! The consultant there was just wonderful, very positive and said that he can do laser surgery to 'mend' me which will help with my symptoms and the fertility issue. They did a scan on my left side and couldnt find my ovary because of the scarring and the scan left me in awful pain. But on the bright side, day 21 tests showed ovulation (got a level of 68.4) and all other tests showed noting abnormal- its just my left side thats a bit 'poorly'. Just waiting for appt on 23rd June to see what the next step is.

Have scanned through the thread and am happy to see that there are lots of pregnancys and happy tales- good luck to you all.

And good luck to those of us going through treatment- Gilly and Nomore x

Will keep you updated x

Afternoon all.
This seems like a nice thread so wondered if i could join in?

Wont beet around the bush me and my DP have been TTC DC1 for about 10month. Been haveing problems with ovulating. . We have a GOF very very regularly, but still no luck. Also, i have been getting very of people around me that are already pg or people who already have a DC, but oh well. I am currently on CD10. So just waiting for ovulatiuon CM if it ever arrives.

nomoremagnolia · 10/04/2009 15:58

Hi kay welcome to the thread Have you had a dx of an ovulation problem? FWIW I found the 9-12 months mark the hardest, esp in terms of thinking everyone else seemed to get pg in 5 mins and without thinking about it.

OP posts:
Kay4MattTTC · 10/04/2009 16:08

same here. i am finding it very hard.

so how long have you been TTC for?
how old are you?
where are you from?

nomoremagnolia · 10/04/2009 17:11

I've been ttc for over 3 years. Have you been to your GP about ttc yet?

OP posts:
Kay4MattTTC · 10/04/2009 17:26

no not yet. i decided to wait till i had been trying for a year. so got 2months to go yet.

nomoremagnolia · 10/04/2009 17:30

It might be worth asking - I mentioned it to the nurse when I was there for something else and she said they'd start investigations before a year if we'd been 'actively trying' (knowing cycles, trying to target ovulation etc)
What makes you think you have a ovulation problem if you haven't been to the GP yet? Do you have regular cycles?

OP posts:
Kay4MattTTC · 10/04/2009 17:34

my cycles are pritty regular. but my BT temp is all over the place. and i dont have any CM at all when i should be ovulation.
my CM seems to go like this:
AF
creamy white
dry
creamy white
AF

nomoremagnolia · 10/04/2009 17:41

Are you doing your temping at the same time each day and in the same way (before you get up, still in bed etc) I don't know too much about the finer points of temping I'm afraid but there are some other girls on here who do. My CM is similar to yours even when I have definitely ov'd (using Clomid) so don't worry too much about that. Have you tried pre-seed?

OP posts:
Kay4MattTTC · 10/04/2009 17:45

yerr pritty much. i do it when i wake up.
no what is pre-seed? i have never herd of that before. and what does it do?

nomoremagnolia · 10/04/2009 17:48

It's a sperm friendly lubricant, mimicks CM. You can get it here

Kay4MattTTC · 11/04/2009 21:33

has anybody else been feeling really latly?

Kay4MattTTC · 14/04/2009 13:52

afternoon all. hope everyone is oki.

here's an update about me:
i am now on CD14. hopeing there is a chance somthing might happen after last night , but not sure anything has cause i haven't noticed an ovulation on my FC again . today i am feeling pritty . so thinking i might stay indoors.

nomoremagnolia · 14/04/2009 14:14

Hi Kay
Firstly you need to stop the taking over your life quite so much - the fact it's stopping you going out is pretty severe. Talk to your GP about seeing a counsellor if it's really that bad - it's not healthy. A bit of jealousy is natural, but you sound like you're being eaten up by it
Secondly - why are you posting the same message on every thread? If you don't mind a bit of advice I think you'd be best to pick a thread and stick to it, it's not good etiquette to keep re-posting the same thing everywhere

Hello my lovely, you ok? DH & I are friends again

nomoremagnolia · 14/04/2009 14:24

Glad to hear it scorpio
I'm ok, just waiting again Hoping that I get in for HSG on my next cycle, you have to ring them on CD1 and they book you in but they only do it one day of the week and there's only 6 appointments, so it's just luck whether you get in before everyone else.
