Hi all

kd - Good to hear little Aidan is keeping you busy... please post a picture so we can see him

gilly - Fab news that the IVF is in motion. Are you doing sniffs? I think I had to start them on day 21 of my cycle or something..

Ohhhh she would love Auntie Gilly to make a dress.... sounds very exciting!!

AppleAndBlackberry - Have you seen something that has made you think boy.. or is it just instinct?

nomoremagnolia - How are you, have not seen you post for a while. I guess you are busy.

Hello to everyone else.... I have another secret... Its Ready's birthday today!!!

Hope you had a good birthday Ready!

Rah - just a feeling really, and the fact that I've been really sick because my Mum said she was more sick with the boys. Will let you know if I'm right in 5 weeks!

RahRah1 · 24/02/2009 12:48

Gilly, good luck with the jabs

How are you doing Rah? Ready and Herb?

RahRah1 · 24/02/2009 21:17

howdy all.

Gilly how exciting. I was really scared of needles and used to pass out. But with my pregnancy with Bertie I was cured as had so many injections. With this pregnancy I give myself an injection every day and it's fine. I get some bruising and make out I'm being brave for some sympathy - I wouldn't be a drama queen otherwise
My biggest tip is to do them yourself. I let my mum and dh get involved when I was having the iui and I was leaping around all over the place...LOL

I'm good thanks Kd, how are things your end? I went to the consultants last week and due to see him at 24 weeks which is just over a week away. I'm having a growth scan and he is going to make a decision on whether to give me steriods to make the babys lung develop at that appointment. I had those with Bertie too and they sting luke buggery! You have to have 2 of those. But will be worth it if this baby does come early. They will have a good look at my placenta before making the decision.

I've just eaten 4 pancakes and feel so stuffed! Anyone else had pancakes? What did you have with them?
I had treacle and icecream.... Ummmmm

Ps.... If any of my post does not make sense it's because I'm on my phone and it's difficult to read the post back and it changes words I put down

kd73 · 28/02/2009 17:10

Rah, good luck with your next scan and let us know how you get on.

Gilly, how did your appt go yesterday?

Aidan and I are doing ok, I am very tired but we are starting to get out and about a bit more and meet people!

Well done Gilly - that sounds like a horrible thing to have to do. Hope your headache is better and you don't get too many other side effects.

My next scan is in 2 weeks! Will let you know if it's blue or pink

P.S. My favourite pancake is banoffee - chopped banana and toffee sauce mmmmmmmmmmmm.

AppleAndBlackberry · 03/03/2009 11:19

By the way - any thoughts on the Bugaboo Bee?

RahRah1 · 03/03/2009 19:56

Hi girlies

Gilly - Fantastic news on injecting yourself!!! Its a major step as its not nice... come on these four weeks for lots of eggies!
I know its hard but try not to look to much into response etc... as IVF is not an exact science. I do know people it has worked on the first go but sometimes it has taken a couple attempts to ensure the right stimulation occurs etc.. But it does work and have my fingers crossed for you. Its so hard when you have been trying for so long. But for some reason it does happen but just when it wants too... GRRRR

A&B - Hope your scan goes well... the bee I've not seen it in the flesh and it will be on our list to consider as we like it too, but I have read quite a few reviews.
Apparently really good for city living for public transport as its really light and mobile. But not so good for more muddy walks and when the baby gets bigger apparently the buggy is not that big.
I don't have a clue really as not looked at any prams/buggies yet and was very keen on the bee, but considering we don't live in the city and don't use public transport I'm not sure. Plus hubbie says no to the pink hood!

kd73 - Glad Aidan is doing well and your out and about showing him off!

Hello to everyone else... XXXX

AppleAndBlackberry · 04/03/2009 10:26

Rah - I initially discounted the Bee because I think it's quite ugly, but when DH and I looked at the Quinny Buzz we really didn't think it would fit in the boot of my car, so the Bee looks like the best rear-facing option at the moment. I don't mind having to get a Maclaren after the first year or so, but I would really like rear-facing to start with. Not sure what we'll do about muddy walks - maybe a sling or a baby carrier?

RahRah1 · 04/03/2009 13:27

Hi A&B - They have a review section on MN. They are really good. Have you looked on there? God its all a bit confusing. I really love the bugaboo range, but still debating the need for a carrycot? Plus so expensive! DH mum said she would buy the pram but i think she would be a bit shocked to find out it was £800! Especially when there are some out there for a couple of hundred. (not for me though!) Sorry but I'm a self declared snob!

Oh dear Gilly what was the disaster? I sometimes get where I inject into one site and some blood comes out of an old site! Weird!! So I get the needle really quickly and suck the blood up with that. Well you have to get fun where you find it!!
After 9 months of injecting myself it will be very weird not to do it anymore!

PS: your not allowed to blame yourself!! I won't allow it! Anyway its so positive that you started IVF it won't be long before your filling that Maclaren!!!!
Actually my friend emailed me they just did their first round of IVF a few months ago in Lithaunia and incredibly they put back in 4 eggs!!!! To be honest I was really scared for her and was worried about what they were doing. Her first cycle did not take but she became pregnant on her next cycle naturally! How mad is that! Thank god she did not end up with 4 babies!

My sister says the same about North London... she said she would never get a bugaboo there as everyone has one! Plus she does not want babies, well not at the moment(I always say people change over time and she is only 28). She is the kind of person that holds them at full length and swiftly hands them over to the next passing person! BLESS!

I have my 24 week scan tomorrow... so a massive milestone! We had Bertie at 24+1 weeks so SCARY!!!

Love to everyone else Xxxx

nomoremagnolia · 05/03/2009 20:22

Will be thinking of you tomorrow Rah

kd73 · 05/03/2009 21:22

Gilly, well done on the jabs. I have my fingers (and legs) firmly crossed for you!

Rah, good luck tomorrow, let us know how you got on.

A&B, I brought the Silver Cross linear freeway (in blue) and the big A loves it. It fits neatly in the boot of our car, however as I am nearly always without the car, its brilliant for around town and on public transport. Its worth checking out as it was recommended to me and I don't regret buying it.

Hello to everyone else.

Kd Aidan is gorgeous, how perfect. How are you doing?

Gilly, well done on the self injections! You ought to be proud of yourself!! How much water do they recommend you drink throughout the process? Because I am drinking at least 2litres at the moment, I know it?s different ? but I?d say the more the better.

Apple&Black, I bet you are really excited about your scan Are you still going to find out what you are having?
I personally don?t like the wheels on the bee, but I am partial to the chunky wheels of the chameleon. What type of car do you have?

Rah so chuffed that you have passed that 24wk milestone. Look after yourself flower!! Thinking of you

How is everyone doing??

22+2 here, and growing fast

AppleAndBlackberry · 09/03/2009 13:21

Gilly - I'm sure it's completely normal to be hopeful about it. Don't worry too much about being busy at work, you never know - it might be good to be distracted rather than thinking about it all the time. Hope you haven't had any more injection problems!

Ready - I am very excited about the scan, and also feeling the baby move in the last few days, which is nice. We are going to find out the sex - did you? I have a Micra at the moment. I haven't measured the boot but it's not very deep so anything with big wheels or a wide base is probably out.

Kd - thanks for the recommendation - I will take a look.
