Hi all.

As per the title, TTC first baby, I've never had a confirmed pregnancy before. I'm 31, bf is 27.

Been trying to conceive 9 months, but due to PCOS only 6 cycles.

This year I've lost weight, and my cycles since January have varied from 28 days to 38 days. Had PCOS confirmed, and currently waiting for an appointment with gynaecologist to see if I need further assistance. Appointment is taking its sweet time so for now doing it the old fashioned way still with plenty of hope (at least some days, not so much others!!!).

I'm currently on cycle day number 28, negative tests, no signs of a period in sight, CM up to my eyeballs and a whole heap of doubt over when ovulation occured!!

If you are :

TTC #1
A woman who has never been pregnant
Pissing on sticks at an ALARMING rate
Potentially with PCOS but healthy ovaries welcome 😁

Then PLEASE join my thread, so in need of buddies in a similar boat! ⛵

No offence to those TTC #2 or more, genuinley ❤️ just hoping to speak to people who also have no idea what pregnancy would feel like, and who also maybe have the fear they CANNOT ever get pregnant ❤️

@KT199 congratulations! I hope it all goes smoothly from here on 😊

@MocktailMe How confusing! You hear of people having 'periods' and not even knowing they're pregnant for months so my fingers are crossed for you. Good that you have bloods on Monday. Would it definitely have been 5 weeks? I'm starting to not trust LH tests too much if that's what you're going off.

@Waitingformiracle similar to you, I find it easier to stay off these forums for a bit as they can get me overthinking and worrying. But I do like to be able to dip in and out and see how everyone's doing, and it's so nice to know you're all here if I ever need to brain dump 😂

I think I'm around CD11 but not tracking anything, should be due to ovulate sometime next week but no idea when so just dtd every other day and hope we catch it. It's our last cycle trying before we go to the GP. @CharLdn it's so encouraging to see you had a good experience with being referred! That must have felt great, I'm fully expecting to have to advocate for ourselves! I hope you're GP was right and you get referred quickly.

CharLdn · 06/12/2024 17:51

Thank you @Tater05 good luck this week 🤞

MocktailMe · 06/12/2024 20:26

The 5 weeks would be from my last period (before the bleed last week). I stopped using OPKS so I have nothing to go off! There are gaps where we did and didn't have sex though - pinning it to two possible weeks that i could have conceived. One is the week before the bleed (2 weeks ago from now) one is the week before (somewhere around the 12th November potential ovulation).

If I did conceive around the 12th I don't think my HCG is anywhere near high enough - and the bleed is a concern? If I conceived just before the bleed then the bleed still makes no sense, and could potentially be ectopic.

I really have no idea what to think right now. I hope I am pregnant with a baby, and not just experiencing the after effects of a miscarriage.

My boobs are sore, I'm tired, and I feel a bit under the weather off and on. Very hungry.

But none of that means I haven't miscarried and just still having the lingering hormonal symptoms of a pregnancy.

Hi @MocktailMe how are you? Any updates ?

I’ve had a peak today (CD20), not sure why so late 😮 was always CD17 before my MC. Will take full advantage though 🤣

MocktailMe · 07/12/2024 10:51

I took another test this morning. It's a bit darker than yesterday's. I'm really scared this is an ectopic pregnancy, but trying to keep calm that if it is it will be picked up from the bloods so hopefully I won't end up requiring surgery.

@MocktailMe see how it goes with the bloods on Monday! Keeping everything crossed for you! How soon will you have the results?

KT199 · 07/12/2024 11:15

Hey @MocktailMe have you had any pain at all? I think it’s quite natural to worry about the line progression, I’m worrying myself and had some sharp pains yesterday in the same spot constantly which made me think I was in the same position your worrying about. How clear are your lines at the moment? Are they squinters or quite pronounced?

My lines are quite pronounced and clearly visible but they don’t seem to be getting much darker

MocktailMe · 07/12/2024 11:30

They're faint, but visible. Definitely faint though.

If it weren't for the bleeding last week I'd be a lot more calm but I had a whole periods worth of blood. I don't see how a baby can have survived it. I also think my lines should be a lot lot darker if I am 5 weeks pregnant.

I can imagine, it’s definitely not an easy situation to navigate but reassuring it has been picked up to be investigated if nothing else. I can understand your reluctance to have your hopes up. My friend actually bled in weeks 6-9, so heavy that she attended EPU when it started and there was clots ect too, but a scan showed she had a bleed around the sac which was significant but didn’t affect her pregnancy and she now has a healthy 7 month old. In a weeks time if you are still getting positives they may be able to scan you to locate the pregnancy, I think from 6 weeks it is detectable on an internal scan.

Every person is definitely different so there is no point me sharing my lines with you, but I am also 5 weeks today. If you want to message me for a chat / compare worries feel free.

@MocktailMe maybe try a clear blue digital test?

@MocktailMe maybe try a clear blue digital test?

On this, the boots early response definitely gave me the darkest/clearest line but clear blue did also show a line 🙂

CharLdn · 07/12/2024 18:17

@MocktailMe that all sounds like a lot to deal with! Definitely check in with the docs on Monday when you go in and keep us posted 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞

Hi ladies. I ended up being called to return for repeat bloods today not tomorrow and sadly I've been told the pregnancy isn't viable.

I need to have repeat bloods done again later this week as my levels have stayed exactly the same, not dropped, so there is the risk of an ectopic pregnancy still, and the possibility I'll need medical management even if it isn't ectopic.

I did have a very strong feeling this would be the case, but I am still heartbroken. We waited a very long time for this pregnancy, and to have it end at 6 weeks is really really hard.

I also still have lots of symptoms and 'feel' pregnant despite knowing the baby isn't growing and that's tough to deal with.

It's been a rough day.

Waitingformiracle · 09/12/2024 10:46

@MocktailMe I am so sorry to hear this. This is a very difficult time for you both, especially having waited so long to get here.

KT199 · 09/12/2024 12:18

So sorry @MocktailMe. A truly awful experience and outcome. Sending love x

Familyfirst12 · 09/12/2024 12:21

@MocktailMe I'm so very very sorry. Take time to look after yourself Xx

MocktailMe · 09/12/2024 14:59

Thank you all so much. I cant tell you how much it means to have a group of women who care ❤️

I've taken some time off work and I'm going to wait to find out if I need any medical intervention or not before I go back.

I really hope you are all doing well xxx

@MocktailMe here if you need a chat. Personally from experience I wish I had taken the medical management route instead of waiting for it to pass on its own. Made it harder for me to come to terms with. However have to do what’s best for you x

Tater05 · 09/12/2024 23:37

So sorry @MocktailMe. A heartbreaking experience on top of an already difficult journey. Sending hugs, look after yourself ❤️

KTB34 · 10/12/2024 19:25

@MocktailMe how you feeling today ?

MocktailMe · 11/12/2024 13:55

Hi ladies I've had confirmation from a scan yesterday that this is an ectopic pregnancy and will be having medical management for it today x
