Hi all.

As per the title, TTC first baby, I've never had a confirmed pregnancy before. I'm 31, bf is 27.

Been trying to conceive 9 months, but due to PCOS only 6 cycles.

This year I've lost weight, and my cycles since January have varied from 28 days to 38 days. Had PCOS confirmed, and currently waiting for an appointment with gynaecologist to see if I need further assistance. Appointment is taking its sweet time so for now doing it the old fashioned way still with plenty of hope (at least some days, not so much others!!!).

I'm currently on cycle day number 28, negative tests, no signs of a period in sight, CM up to my eyeballs and a whole heap of doubt over when ovulation occured!!

If you are :

TTC #1
A woman who has never been pregnant
Pissing on sticks at an ALARMING rate
Potentially with PCOS but healthy ovaries welcome 😁

Then PLEASE join my thread, so in need of buddies in a similar boat! ⛵

No offence to those TTC #2 or more, genuinley ❤️ just hoping to speak to people who also have no idea what pregnancy would feel like, and who also maybe have the fear they CANNOT ever get pregnant ❤️

@Kateb149 yes they did I had pcos symptoms so they booked me in for a scan to check for cysts with about an 8 week wait. If you have a history of endo they might look into things sooner for you.

I’ve now had

  • thyroid tests
  • day 21 progesterone
  • full hormones

my partner had a sperm test too

all on the nhs within a few months. It’s definitely worth getting in the queue if you do want things looked at.

CharLdn · 25/11/2024 20:51

@maple1234 I use Mira for tracking which is expensive but gives you numbers instead if you want to look into that?

I’ve found it quite helpful although it directly correlates with discharge and body temp so those things seem to work too..

CharLdn · 26/11/2024 07:13

After symptom spotting for the last few days I tested today and BFN :( I’m just severely over it.

Now I wait for my period…

That’s really good to know, thank you! ☺️ I have everything crossed you get your BFP soon 🤞 x

How many DPO are you today? You’re not out until AF arrives x

maple1234 · 26/11/2024 09:12

I found this reassuring. Statistics re DPO and % of people reporting positive pregnancy test each day

@Kateb149 @maple1234 I didn’t track ovulation this month but normally I ovulate day 14 and I’m day 28 now but we had sex every other day 9-20…

my cycle does vary up to about 33 days I’ll probably give it a week and if no period test again

KT199 · 27/11/2024 07:41

Morning. Do any of you ladies track BBT?
Just wondered how common you’ve found it that FF or natural cycles move ovulation day after “confirming” it?

FF had said I ovulated on CD17 and Natural Cycles CD18. Woken up this morning and they’ve both moved ovulation to CD19 (based on temp data).. whilst it’s not a massive change or anything I just wondered if this was quite common? I’ve noticed FF has “confirmed” ovulation for me on 3 different dates this month alone!

A little frustrating as we had stopped with DTD after it was confirmed on CD18 but what will be will be! 😊

CharLdn · 27/11/2024 10:57

@KT199 I was tracking cervical mucus/BBT sex drive and using Mira sticks

the way I see it is it paints a picture of when ovulation may have occurred but it’s a picture.

Sperm can live in the body for 48 hours so you may have got it anyway! Good luck 🤞

I got my period today so I’m out this month WAh 😩 Skipping next month as my partners away.

Sorry to hear AF came, wishing you all the baby dust in 2025! X

KT199 · 27/11/2024 11:20

Fair enough, maybe I need to look at the bigger picture then? I find it stressful enough with LH and BBT though 😂 I’ll attach my chart for reference. I still felt CD17 looked most realistic..

Oh no way, so sorry to hear that!!! 😟 maybe a break over the festive period will help you to relax and enjoy the moment a little more though. We are thinking of taking a break for that reason!

@KT199 yeh I think tbh I’ve just had a really shit month of it with four close friends announcing pregnancies and two giving birth this week I feel really fucking sad and quite hopeless.

I don’t know about relaxing because if one more person tells me to relax I’m going to lose it but I’m going to regroup certainly.

Sorry I didn’t mean to offend - I meant more relax in the sense of you may be able to switch off a little without wondering if it’ll be the month. Sorry again

MocktailMe · 29/11/2024 13:43

Hello newbies and hello old friends too.

@CharLdn I'm gutted for you. It's so fuckin unfair and I was full of hope that a change of scenery would somehow be the magic switch you needed but we should know by now there is no magic!

For those of you struggling to identify peaks etc the best advice I can give is to simply cover everything every other day or every three days - i don't think the tests can truly be trusted unless you test BBT with them, and even then you'll only know afterwards. I'm lucky that I get a decent amount of EWCM and unlucky enough that after doing this nonsense for over a year I've got quite good at recognising my fertile signs.

The BIG update from me is that I've finally got a date for my hysterosalpingogram - a week today. We haven't yet had back the results from my partners sperm test as yet from last week, so of course I have convinced myself they're waiting to break terrible news, but my mind is always telling me this stuff!

Bricking myself for the procedure. Hoping we haven't heard from @Waitingformiracle since hers as she's busy shagging and will be back with a BFP soon. I'm dreaming for us all, I can't think of a group of ladies who deserve their babies more.

@KT199 not offended sorry I was just having a really rough week last week and agree a break will be nice :)

@MocktailMe fingers crossed the sperm test and good luck with your procedure what a mouthful!!!

I went to my GP today and basically said you’ve done all these tests what’s next and he’s referred me to the nhs fertility clinic!!!

We’ve been trying 13 cycles and he said if anyone asks you’ve been trying for 25 months but I’ll refer you anyway.

It was SO validating to just be listened to and taken seriously he basically said so you’re doing everything right. He also said I should be referred pretty quickly.

im actually feeling quite hopeful.

KT199 · 06/12/2024 08:54

Thank you ladies ☺️!! I didn’t realise how anxious I would be already 🤣 but trying to live in the moment and enjoy the feeling.

Waitingformiracle · 06/12/2024 09:42

Hi @MocktailMe sorry for the silence! Sadly it’s not because I’ve any news I have just needed a break from these forums as I’m struggling at the moment. Hope the HyCoSy goes / has gone well!

MocktailMe · 06/12/2024 10:45

They couldn't do the procedure as my pregnancy test came back positive. Very faintly. I don't understand as it was CD11. Possibly the end of a non viable pregnancy. Possibly the beginning of a healthy one. I definitely had what I thought was a period. It was heavy. So don't know what's going on now.

Waitingformiracle · 06/12/2024 11:10

@MocktailMe oh gosh that is very confusing!! What did they say to do as a next step?

MocktailMe · 06/12/2024 16:21

I don't understand why I would have bleeding then a very faint positive 11 days later. Really weird. I know bleeding can be normal in very early pregnancy but I would have expected a stronger positive for 5 weeks if all was well. I've taken some since at home and all are very faint.

I'm waiting for to have the first of two bloods taken Monday now.
