Hi all.

As per the title, TTC first baby, I've never had a confirmed pregnancy before. I'm 31, bf is 27.

Been trying to conceive 9 months, but due to PCOS only 6 cycles.

This year I've lost weight, and my cycles since January have varied from 28 days to 38 days. Had PCOS confirmed, and currently waiting for an appointment with gynaecologist to see if I need further assistance. Appointment is taking its sweet time so for now doing it the old fashioned way still with plenty of hope (at least some days, not so much others!!!).

I'm currently on cycle day number 28, negative tests, no signs of a period in sight, CM up to my eyeballs and a whole heap of doubt over when ovulation occured!!

If you are :

TTC #1
A woman who has never been pregnant
Pissing on sticks at an ALARMING rate
Potentially with PCOS but healthy ovaries welcome 😁

Then PLEASE join my thread, so in need of buddies in a similar boat! ⛵

No offence to those TTC #2 or more, genuinley ❤️ just hoping to speak to people who also have no idea what pregnancy would feel like, and who also maybe have the fear they CANNOT ever get pregnant ❤️

Hey guys! I would love to join.

I'm 28 and have never been pregnant before. I came off the pill in July and my cycles have been really long since, so far 51 and 44 days. I have started tracking LH this month. Currently on day 32 and no positive, nothing above 0.2 on Premom. I got my periods late and started contraception early so don't have any idea of what my cycles/periods are really like. I am hoping it is just taking a bit longer for my periods to recover after coming off the pill. I relate to the fear of infertility given I have never gotten pregnant before 🙏🏼

MocktailMe · 19/11/2024 17:38

@KTB34 I'm so sorry :( it must be a horrible feeling. The only silver lining is this means things are resetting for you and your body is healing ❤️

My partner has his sperm test tomorrow. Up til now I've felt really calm about this as I know I have fertility issues and have assumed it's all on my side. But now I am starting to worry and thinking the worst. Maybe we both have problems after all. I don't really know a lot about male infertility but I don't want to scare myself by looking into it before we even get the results.

@KTB34 I'm sorry 😔 it's very hard and feels so unnatural when you know you should be X number of weeks pregnant right now. Be kind to yourself and let yourself be sad for the next few days, eat all the nice food and have the glass of wine if you drink, I usually let myself wallow for a day or two and then I get focused for the next fertile window and I find once I get motivated about that I feel better.

@MocktailMe I understand how nerve wrecking it can be. If it helps, the male factor stuff can be improved a lot more easily than the female stuff. We doubled my husband's numbers even before his procedure just by lifestyle changes. I'm happy to share what we did if you do find your husband's results are sub-optimal. Best of luck for the test I hope all is normal but if it's not there are things you can do!

KTB34 · 19/11/2024 18:49

@CharLdn @MocktailMe @Waitingformiracle thank you all. Still no full flow so feel like my body is back up to its old tricks!

Good news though, scan via the GP has come through next week! Very quick so I’m pleased about that! Hope everyone is ok.

Good luck for the sperm test !

MocktailMe · 20/11/2024 16:33

I was so stupidly worried about everything this morning 😄 the timing, whether we would collect the whole sample (the letter mentioned this so many times I became convinced he was going to miss the whole pot 😂😂😂😂) the sample getting cold in the snowy outside on the way to the car (so i put it inside my knickers...with the logic its closest to where it would normally go...??), not being able to find the desk on time and then saying sorry goodbye wait another 3 months for a new timeslot!!!

And in Reality everything was just fine 😂

So now we simply wait for the results, here's hoping we get some good news for once!!!

@MocktailMe hope it went well!

Welcome @maple1234 !!

Update from me…I’ve had my first actual bleed today 9 months after the pill! Can’t believe it! Don’t know if it’s a knock on effect of the MC or maybe my period is finally back. Either way it’s a good sign! Hope it continues…can’t believe I’m excited to have a period 🤣

KT199 · 21/11/2024 18:41

Good luck for the results @MocktailMe!!

Heyyy @maple1234 don't worry too much it can take a while after the pill for your periods to settle back into a pattern! Good luck with your LH testing!!

@KTB34 ahh I’m glad that it’s made you feel positive as I know it could quite easily have gone the other way too!

As for me, my scan was 7 days ago and I have only just got a surge today CD17 (3/4 days later than I’ve ever had a surge before) so hoping what the sonographer saw last week was just potentially delayed ovulation? Other months I’ve already ovulated by CD17 so feeling a little more positive, that when I book to go back in a few days maybe he can confirm I am actually ovulating after all. Trust my body to play up on the cycle I went for my ultrasound 😒

maple1234 · 22/11/2024 14:54

Thank you @KT199 does anyone have any experience/knowledge about taking myo-inositol without a diagnosis of PCOS to regulate cycles/promote ovulation?

KTB34 · 23/11/2024 11:46

@maple1234 yes I do. I’m taking inofolic alpha as recommended by a specialist. I was taking it after I came off the pill which help to regulate my cycles but didn’t have an actual period. However since my miscarriage I’ve been taking it twice a day and just had my first proper period since Feb!

Amazing, thank you! Do you know what dose you take? I've seen various dosages with different brands

maple1234 · 23/11/2024 21:16

Thank you so much, I'll give them a shot ☺️

Hi @maple1234 welcome ❤️

Hi guys is anyone else in the TWW.

My period is due today ish so I’m symptom spotting - I have been very emotional the last few days and have thrown a few spots so im not overly hopeful.

This month we had the most sex we’ve ever had any cycles and were in Australia so I feel the chances should be higher than normal.

I think if we don’t I might push for more tests, maybe get my tubes checked.

I’ve had most things done on the NHS - all hormone levels, day 21 pdg, thyroid test, trans vag ultrasound and technically nothings outside of normal range. A few numbers came up on the edge of normal but I think I’d like to see a fertility doctor with my results not just a gp. My partner has Bupa with work so hopefully 🤞 we can get stuff investigated by a specialist.

Anyway thought I’d share!

Hey! I am in the TWW but only early on, 2/3DPO!

I have had an ultrasound that’s confirmed I defo ovulated though so feeling reassured from the ultrasound I had earlier in the month!!

Fingers crossed for you!! 🤞 sorry if I missed it but how long have you been trying for? Definitely push for more testing/referrals if you feel you need it. Has your OH had a sperm analysis?

CharLdn · 24/11/2024 18:58

@KT199 great on positive ovulation test!

I’m 10 days post ovulating been trying since Jan but I then realised I ovulate around day 14/15 around April so probably properly around 6/7 cycles having sex at the right time. I’ve been using Mira to track the past 3 month or so but skipped tracking this much as we were away in Australia so did the bonk as much as we can method.

He got sperm tested in August which were all good. This month we had sex days 9/11/13/14/16/18/20 so should have hit fertile window!!!!

I’ll see how I go this week if my period comes and then test later this week if it doesn’t.

My partners in Switzerland for 3 months with work from Saturday so I really bloody hope this is our month 🤞

I’ve had a bit of late egg white discharge even today (day 26) but apart from that nothing unusual…

Hey girl hey .. TTC #1

this is my story, 31F and 32M

  • been off BC since February, low progesterone levels did the whole blood test thing.
  • Referal to a Fertility specialist in the works.
  • Hubby is fine, he’s even quit smoking and we’re both on supplements.
  • I’m on cycle #9 at the moment.
  • I am BBT temping but not so not sure what I’m looking at. (Screenshot below)
  • Literally everyone I know is/has gotten pregnant this year including my best friend and sister in law. I sent them all presents and I am trying hard to be supportive, instead of jealous that they’re living my dream.
  • I’ve gotten to the point where my period arriving doesn’t make me cry anymore

Any advice?.

@Liyoness93 welcome!

Hard relate to everyone I know is pregnant this year it’s so hard!

No advice really just solidarity - wether I cry when I get my period really depends on how many close friends have announced pregnancies that week 🫠🫠🫠

I’m in a similar boat been trying for about 6-9 months tracking temp/discharge and Accupuncture/fertility lube and supplements. Husbands sperm test all good.

You are not alone in this 🎢 journey!

A month off testing combined with a lovely holiday may have also relieved some stress, I find it awful peeing on sticks constantly 😂. Fingers crossed for you a lucky month!! 🥰

Tough re: husband working away, but hopefully you won’t need to worry about the TTC journey when that happens and you’ve got a BFP 🫶🏻

Heyyy!!

I’ve not been in TTC game as long just yet, but relate to everything you’ve said, bar the upsetness around period arriving, I still get this, but can usually brush it off in a day or two. Strongly relate to the fact that it feels like the whole of my close network is pregnant or very recently had babies (all with simple short ttc journeys)

Advice wise, I’ve actually found mums net to be really comforting as I know I’m not alone even if my support network have it so easily. Sounds like your taking all the right steps with referrals, supplements ect so just got to hope you get a lucky cycle sometime soon!! 🤞

Feel free to reach out on these forums with any worries or woes and people definitely help!! 🫶🏻

Yeah I totally agree, since joining this forum of people in the same or similar situation, it’s less lonely. The people who know, keep telling me that I will be fine, that it will happen, but they don’t know what it’s like and I feel like you all do 💕

Kateb149 · 24/11/2024 20:12

Hi all 👋 I’ve been on a couple of forums but thought i’d join this one as it seems so supportive ☺️ I’m 31F and partner is 32M. My DH has one son already but we’re trying for our first together. Had my mirena coil out in May and we got married in August, so was hoping we’d conceive during honeymoon but that didn’t happen 😅 so its cycle 5 for us TTC and praying for a Christmas miracle!
If nothing happens by the new year, i’ll probably look into getting myself checked as i’ve had endo mentioned in the past by gynae’s. I think i’m ovulating today according to LH levels. Good luck to everyone this month 🤞 x

maple1234 · 25/11/2024 10:48

Finally getting an LH peak today at CD38!! So relieved that I could be ovulating that I could cry 🥲 I was just about to stop testing. Gonna keep testing to see exactly when my peak is.

Oh that’s good to know thank you ☺️ did you find the GP took the results seriously and did they look into it straight away? I know there’s long waiting lists at the moment x
